And the LORD was very
angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the
same time.
The LORD was
angry enough with Aaron to destroy him, but at that time I also prayed for Aaron.
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the
tithe of thine increase the
same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates.
Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy
maidservant thou shalt do likewise.
then take an
awl and
pierce it through his ear into the door, and he will become your servant for life. And treat your
maidservant the
same way.
But at the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the
passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
You must only offer the
Passover sacrifice at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name. Do this in the evening as the sun sets, at the
same time you departed from Egypt.
In like manner shalt thou do with his
ass; and so shalt thou do with his
raiment; and with all lost things of thy brother’s, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide
thyself.
And you shall do the
same for his
donkey, his
cloak, or anything your brother has lost and you have found. You must not
ignore it.
And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
On that day Moses commanded the people:
Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.
So that very day Moses wrote down this song and taught it to the Israelites.
And the LORD spake unto Moses that
selfsame day, saying,
On that same day the LORD said to Moses,
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the
dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the
same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
Then on the seventh day, they got up at
dawn and marched around the city seven times in the
same manner. That was the only day they circled the city seven times.
So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of
Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the
same;
So Joshua took this entire region: the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of
Goshen, the western foothills, the Arabah, and the mountains of Israel and their foothills,
And the border went up by the valley of the son of
Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the
same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of
Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:
From there the border went up the Valley of
Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem) and ascended to the top of the hill that faces the Valley of
Hinnom on the west, at the northern end of the Valley of
Rephaim.
And it came to pass the
same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young
bullock, even the second
bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of
Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the
grove that is by it:
On that very night the LORD said to
Gideon, “Take your father’s young bull and a second bull seven years old,
tear down your father’s altar to
Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.
And the LORD said unto
Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the
same shall go with thee; and of
whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the
same shall not go.
Then the LORD said to
Gideon, “There are still too many people. Take them down to the water, and I will
sift them for you there. If I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go. But if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”
And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.
That night the LORD said to
Gideon, “Get up and go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.
And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him.
From there he went up to Penuel and asked the
same from them, but the men of Penuel gave the
same response as the men of Succoth.
And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in
array in the place where they put themselves in
array the first day.
But the
Israelite army took courage and again took their battle positions in the
same place where they had
arrayed themselves on the first day.
And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
That same day the Benjamites came out against them from Gibeah and cut down another 18,000 Israelites, all of them armed with swords.
And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on
Hophni and
Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.
And this sign shall come to you concerning your two sons
Hophni and
Phinehas: They will both die on the
same day.
And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to
Shiloh the
same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.
That
same day a
Benjamite ran from the battle line all the way to
Shiloh, with his clothes
torn and
dirt on his head.
Then said they, What shall be the
trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden
emerods, and five golden
mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
“What guilt offering should we send back to Him?” asked the Philistines. “Five gold tumors and five gold rats,” they said, “according to the number of rulers of the Philistines, since the same plague has struck both you and your rulers.
And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the
coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the
same day unto the LORD.
And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD and the chest containing the gold objects, and they placed them on the large rock. That day the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and made sacrifices to the LORD.
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to
Ekron the
same day.
And when the five rulers of the Philistines saw this, they returned to
Ekron that
same day.
And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.
When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD told him, “Here is the man of whom I spoke; he shall rule over My people.”
And one of the
same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a
proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?
Then a man who lived there replied, “And who is their father?” So the saying became a
proverb: “Is Saul also among the prophets?”
And Saul built an altar unto the LORD: the same was the first altar that he built unto the LORD.
Then Saul built an altar to the LORD; it was the first time he had built an altar to the LORD.
And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the
champion, the
Philistine of
Gath,
Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the
same words: and David heard them.
And as he was speaking with them, suddenly the
champion named
Goliath, the
Philistine from
Gath, came forward from the Philistines and
shouted his usual words, which David also heard.
And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.
Then he turned from him toward another and asked about the offer, and those people answered him just as the first ones had answered.
So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.
So Saul, his three sons, his
armor-bearer, and all his men died together that
same day.
Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
Then David took hold of his own clothes and
tore them, and all the men who were with him did the
same.
And now the LORD
shew kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing.
Now may the LORD show you loving devotion and faithfulness, and I will also show you the same favor because you have done this.
Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore
Abner with the hinder end of the
spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the
spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the
same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where
Asahel fell down and died stood still.
But
Asahel refused to turn away; so
Abner thrust the
butt of his
spear into his stomach, and it came out his back, and he fell dead on the spot. And every man
paused when he came to the place where
Asahel had fallen and died.
Nevertheless David took the strong hold of
Zion: the
same is the city of David.
Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of
Zion (that is, the City of David).
And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the
brickkiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of
Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
David brought out the people who were there and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes, and he made them work at the brick kilns. He did the
same to all the
Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.
But the man that shall touch them must be
fenced with iron and the staff of a
spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the
same place.
The man who touches them must be armed with iron or with the shaft of a
spear. The fire burns them to ashes in the place where they lie.”
These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the
same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his
spear against eight hundred, whom he
slew at one time.
These are the names of David’s mighty men: Josheb-basshebeth the Tahchemonite was chief of the Three. He
wielded his
spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed at one time.
And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
One woman said, “Please, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I gave birth while she was in the house.
And the other
cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.
The second
cherub also measured ten cubits; both
cherubim had the
same size and shape,
So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.
In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.
And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a
cubit high: and on the top of the base the ledges thereof and the borders thereof were of the
same.
At the top of each stand was a circular band half a
cubit high. The supports and panels were cast as a unit with the top of the stand.
After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one size.
In this way he made the ten stands, each with the same casting, dimensions, and shape.
The
same day did the king
hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the
brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
On that
same day the king consecrated the middle of the
courtyard in front of the house of the LORD, and there he offered the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, since the bronze altar before the LORD was too small to contain all these offerings.
And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.
And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
That day the man of God gave a sign, saying, “The LORD has spoken this sign: ‘Surely the altar will be split apart, and the ashes upon it will be poured out.’”
For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
For this is what I was commanded by the word of the LORD: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’”
And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
So at that time King Jehoram set out from Samaria and
mobilized all Israel.
Yet
Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then
Libnah revolted at the
same time.
So to this day
Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise,
Libnah rebelled at the
same time.
And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the
same; and in the third year
sow ye, and
reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.
And this will be a sign to you, O
Hezekiah: This year you will eat what grows on its own, and in the second year what springs from the
same. But in the third year you will
sow and
reap; you will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city,’ declares the LORD.
Abram; the
same is Abraham.
and
Abram (that is, Abraham).
And all their villages that were round about the
same cities, unto
Baal. These were their habitations, and their
genealogy.
and all their surrounding villages as far as
Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept a
genealogical record:
And hath confirmed the
same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an
everlasting covenant,
He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an
everlasting covenant:
And it came to pass the
same night, that the word of God came to
Nathan, saying,
But that night the word of God came to
Nathan, saying,
And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of
Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
David brought out the people who were there and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes. And he did the
same to all the
Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.
Also at the
same time Solomon kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of
Hamath unto the river of Egypt.
So at that time Solomon and all Israel with him—a very great assembly of people from Lebo-
hamath to the
Brook of Egypt—kept the feast for seven days.
Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that
whosoever cometh to
consecrate himself with a young
bullock and seven rams, the
same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
But did you not drive out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites? And did you not make priests for
yourselves as do the peoples of other lands? Now
whoever comes to
consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of things that are not gods.
And they offered unto the LORD the
same time, of the
spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
At that time they sacrificed to the LORD seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep from all the
plunder they had brought back.
Then
Asa was
wroth with the
seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a
rage with him because of this thing. And
Asa oppressed some of the people the
same time.
And the king of Israel said unto
Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may
enquire of the LORD: but I
hate him; for he never
prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the
same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And
Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
The king of Israel answered, “There is still one man who can ask the LORD, but I
hate him because he never prophesies anything good for me, but only bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.” “The king should not say that!”
Jehoshaphat replied.
And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Beracah, where they blessed the LORD. Therefore that place is called the Valley of Beracah to this day.
So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The
same time also did
Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had
forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.
So to this day
Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise,
Libnah rebelled against his rule at the
same time, because Jehoram had
forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
He fought also with the king of the
Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of
Ammon gave him the
same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of
Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.
Jotham
waged war against the king of the
Ammonites and defeated them, and that year they gave him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. They paid him the
same in the second and third years.
Hath not the
same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?
Did not
Hezekiah himself remove His high places and His altars and say to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn sacrifices’?
This
same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of
Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And
Hezekiah prospered in all his works.
It was
Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Spring of
Gihon and channeled it down to the west side of the City of David. And
Hezekiah prospered in all that he did.
And so did he in the cities of
Manasseh, and Ephraim, and
Simeon, even unto
Naphtali, with their mattocks round about.
Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.
‘Now I will indeed gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the
calamity that I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants.’” So they brought her answer back to the king.
And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.
They set aside the burnt offerings to be given to the divisions of the families of the people to offer to the LORD, as is written in the Book of Moses; and they did the same with the bulls.
So all the service of the LORD was prepared the
same day, to keep the
passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king
Josiah.
So on that day the entire service of the LORD was carried out for
celebrating the
Passover and offering burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD, according to the command of King
Josiah.
That search may be made in the book of the records of thy fathers: so shalt thou find in the book of the records, and know that this city is a
rebellious city, and
hurtful unto kings and provinces, and that they have moved
sedition within the
same of old time: for which cause was this city destroyed.
that a search should be made of the record books of your fathers. In these books you will discover and
verify that the city is a
rebellious city,
harmful to kings and provinces,
inciting sedition from ancient times. That is why this city was destroyed.
At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar-boznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
At that time Tattenai the governor of the region west of the Euphrates, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates went to the Jews and asked, “Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and restore this structure?”
But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.
In his first year, however, Cyrus king of Babylon issued a decree to rebuild this house of God.
Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and yet it is not finished.
So this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundation of the house of God in Jerusalem, and from that time until now it has been under construction, but it has not yet been completed.”
In the first year of Cyrus the king the
same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof
threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof
threescore cubits;
In the first year of King Cyrus, he issued a decree concerning the house of God in Jerusalem: Let the house be rebuilt as a place for offering sacrifices, and let its foundations be firmly laid. It is to be sixty cubits high and sixty cubits wide,
Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the
same is Kelita,) Pethahiah, Judah, and
Eliezer.
Among the Levites: Jozabad, Shimei, Kelaiah (that is, Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and
Eliezer.
Likewise at the
same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant
lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.
At that time I also said to the people, “Let every man and his servant
spend the night inside Jerusalem, so that they can stand guard by night and work by day.”
Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave the same reply.
Then sent
Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
The fifth time,
Sanballat sent me this
same message by his young servant, who had in his hand an unsealed letter
Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
On the twenty-fourth day of the
same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing
sackcloth, with dust on their heads.
And that we should bring the firstfruits of our
dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the
tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the
same Levites might have the
tithes in all the cities of our
tillage.
Moreover, we will bring to the priests at the storerooms of the house of our God the firstfruits of our
dough, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees, and of our new wine and oil. A tenth of our produce belongs to the Levites, so that they shall receive
tithes in all the towns where we labor.
And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the
tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah
rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
And on that
same day men were appointed over the rooms that housed the supplies, contributions, firstfruits, and
tithes. The portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites were gathered into these storerooms from the fields of the villages, because Judah
rejoiced over the priests and Levites who were serving.
Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by
profaning the sabbath.
Did not your forefathers do the
same things, so that our God brought all this
disaster on us and on this city? And now you are
rekindling His wrath against Israel by
profaning the Sabbath!”
Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king’s princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath.
This very day the noble women of Persia and Media who have heard about the queen’s conduct will say the same thing to all the king’s officials, resulting in much contempt and wrath.
On that day did the king
Ahasuerus give the house of
Haman the Jews’ enemy unto
Esther the queen. And
Mordecai came before the king; for
Esther had told what he was unto her.
Now in the
twelfth month, that is, the month
Adar, on the
thirteenth day of the
same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that
hated them;)
On the
thirteenth day of the
twelfth month, the month of
Adar, the king’s command and edict were to be executed. On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but their plan was overturned and the Jews overpowered those who
hated them.
This was done on the
thirteenth day of the month of
Adar, and on the
fourteenth day they rested, making it a day of feasting and joy.
The Jews in
Susa, however, had assembled on the
thirteenth and the
fourteenth days of the month. So they rested on the
fifteenth day, making it a day of feasting and joy.
Even as I have seen, they that
plow iniquity, and
sow wickedness,
reap the
same.
As I have observed, those who
plow iniquity and those who
sow trouble
reap the
same.
This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
It is all the
same, and so I say, ‘He destroys both the
blameless and the wicked.’
What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.
What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.
Did not he that made me in the
womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the
womb?
Did not He who made me in the
womb also make them? Did not the
same One form us in the
womb?
That thy foot may be
dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the
same.
that your foot may be
dipped in the blood of your foes— the tongues of your dogs in the
same.”
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the
same: but the
dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall
wring them out, and drink them.
For a cup is in the hand of the LORD, full of
foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours from His cup, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to the
dregs.
But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
But You remain the same, and Your years will never end.
And confirmed the
same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an
everlasting covenant:
He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an
everlasting covenant:
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.
From where the sun rises to where it sets, the name of the LORD is praised.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no
transgression; the
same is the companion of a destroyer.
He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other;
yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
For the fates of both men and beasts are the
same: As one dies, so dies the other—they all have the
same breath. Man has no advantage over the animals, since everything is
futile.
Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
even if he lives a thousand years twice over but fails to enjoy his prosperity. Do not all go to the same place?
