As
the dew of
Hermon, and as
the dew that descended upon
the mountains of
Zion: for
there the LORD commanded
the blessing, even life for
evermore.
It is like
the dew of
Hermon falling on
the mountains of
Zion. For
there the LORD has bestowed
the blessing of life forevermore.
Behold,
bless ye
the LORD, all ye servants of
the LORD, which by night stand in
the house of
the LORD.
Come,
bless the LORD, all you servants of
the LORD who serve by night in
the house of
the LORD!
Lift up your hands in
the sanctuary, and
bless the LORD.

bless the LORD!
The LORD that made heaven and earth
bless thee out of
Zion.

the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
bless you from
Zion.

Hallelujah! Praise
the name of
the LORD. Give praise, O servants of
the LORD,
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

For
the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar
treasure.
For
the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His
treasured possession.

For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in
the seas, and all deep places.
The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.
He causeth
the vapours to
ascend from
the ends of
the earth; he maketh lightnings for
the rain; he bringeth
the wind out of his
treasuries.
He causes
the clouds to rise from
the ends of
the earth. He generates
the lightning with
the rain and brings forth
the wind from His storehouses.
He struck down
the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.
Who sent
tokens and wonders into
the midst of
thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

their land as an inheritance, as a
heritage to His people Israel.
For
the LORD will judge his people, and he will
repent himself concerning his servants.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
Bless the LORD, O house of Israel:
bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
O house of Israel,
bless the LORD; O house of Aaron,
bless the LORD;
Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear
the LORD,
bless the LORD.
O house of Levi,
bless the LORD; you who fear
the LORD,
bless the LORD!

the LORD out of
Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye
the LORD.

Zion— He who dwells in Jerusalem.

By
the rivers of Babylon,
there we sat down,
yea, we
wept, when we remembered
Zion.
By
the rivers of Babylon we sat and
wept when we remembered
Zion.
We
hanged our harps upon
the willows in
the midst
thereof.
There on the willows we hung our harps,
For
there they that carried us away
captive required of us a song; and
they that wasted us required of us
mirth, saying, Sing us one of
the songs of
Zion.
for
there our captors requested a song; our tormentors demanded songs of joy: “Sing us a song of
Zion.”
How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land?
How can we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?
If I
forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand cease to function.
If I do not remember
thee, let my tongue
cleave to
the roof of my mouth; if I
prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
May my tongue
cling to
the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not
exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!
Remember, O LORD,
the children of
Edom in
the day of Jerusalem; who said,
Rase it,
rase it, even to
the foundation
thereof.
Remember, O LORD,
the sons of
Edom on
the day Jerusalem fell: “Destroy it,”
they said, “
tear it down to its foundations!”
O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
O Daughter of Babylon,
doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Blessed is he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.
I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
I give You
thanks with all my heart; before
the gods I sing Your praises.
In
the day when I
cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
On
the day I called, You answered me; You
emboldened me and strengthened my soul.
All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
All
the kings of
the earth will give You
thanks, O LORD, when
they hear
the words of Your mouth.
Yea,
they shall sing in
the ways of
the LORD: for great is
the glory of
the LORD.
They will sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.
Though
the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto
the lowly: but
the proud he knoweth
afar off.
Though
the LORD is on high, He attends to
the lowly; but
the proud He knows from
afar.
Though I walk in
the midst of trouble, thou
wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against
the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
If I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve me from the anger of my foes; You extend Your hand, and Your right hand saves me.
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever:
forsake not
the works of thine own hands.
The LORD will
fulfill His purpose for me. O LORD, Your loving devotion endures
forever— do not
abandon the works of Your hands.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD.
If I
ascend up into heaven, thou art
there: if I make my bed in
hell, behold, thou art
there.
If I
ascend to
the heavens, You are
there; if I make my bed in
Sheol, You are
there.
If I take
the wings of
the morning, and dwell in
the uttermost parts of
the sea;
If I rise on
the wings of
the dawn, if I settle by
the farthest sea,
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
even there Your hand will guide me; Your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light become night around me”—
Yea,
the darkness hideth not from
thee; but
the night shineth as
the day:
the darkness and
the light are both alike to
thee.
even the darkness is not dark to You, but the night shines like the day, for darkness is as light to You.
I will praise
thee; for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
I praise You, for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made.
Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well.
My substance was not
hid from
thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in
the lowest parts of
the earth.
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was
woven together in
the depths of
the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God, how vast is their sum!
If I should count
them,
they are more in number than
the sand: when I
awake, I am still with
thee.
If I were to count
them,
they would outnumber
the grains of sand; and when I
awake, I am still with You.
Surely thou
wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me
therefore, ye
bloody men.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
who speak of You
deceitfully; Your enemies take Your name in vain.
Do not I
hate them, O LORD, that
hate thee? and am not I
grieved with those that rise up against
thee?
Do I not
hate those who
hate You, O LORD, and
detest those who rise against You?
I
hate them with perfect hatred: I count
them mine enemies.
I
hate them with perfect hatred; I count
them as my enemies.
And see if
there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in
the way
everlasting.
See if
there is any offensive way in me; lead me in
the way
everlasting.
Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men. Protect me from men of violence,
Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
who
devise evil in
their hearts and
stir up war all day long.
They have sharpened
their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under
their lips.
Selah.
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
Guard me, O LORD, from
the hands of
the wicked. Keep me safe from men of violence who scheme to make me
stumble.
The proud have
hid a
snare for me, and cords;
they have spread a net by
the wayside;
they have set gins for me.
Selah.
The proud hide a
snare for me;
the cords of
their net are spread along
the path, and lures are set out for me.
Selah I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
I say to the LORD, “You are my God.” Hear, O LORD, my cry for help.
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You shield my head in the day of battle.
Grant not, O LORD,
the desires of
the wicked: further not his wicked
device; lest
they exalt themselves.
Selah.
Grant not, O LORD,
the desires of
the wicked; do not promote
their evil plans, lest
they be
exalted.
Selah As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
May
the heads of those who
surround me be covered in
the trouble
their lips have caused.
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
May burning coals fall on
them; may
they be thrown into
the fire, into
the miry pits, never to rise again.
Let not an evil speaker be established in
the earth: evil shall
hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
I know that
the LORD will maintain
the cause of
the afflicted, and
the right of
the poor.
I know that
the LORD upholds justice for
the poor and defends
the cause of
the needy.
Surely
the righteous shall give
thanks unto thy name:
the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
Surely the righteous will praise Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence.
LORD, I cry unto
thee: make
haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto
thee.
I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
May my prayer be set before You like incense, my
uplifted hands like
the evening offering.
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to
practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of
their dainties.
Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on
their delicacies.
Let
the righteous
smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in
their calamities.
Let
the righteous man strike me; let his
rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against
the deeds of
the wicked.
When
their judges are overthrown in
stony places,
they shall hear my words; for
they are sweet.
When
their rulers are thrown down from
the cliffs,
the people will
listen to my words, for
they are pleasant.
Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.
As when one plows and breaks up
the soil, so our bones have been scattered at
the mouth of
Sheol.
But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD
the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul
defenseless.
Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.
Let
the wicked fall into
their own nets, whilst that I
withal escape.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
I
cried unto
the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto
the LORD did I make my
supplication.
I cry
aloud to
the LORD; I lift my voice to
the LORD for mercy.
When my spirit was
overwhelmed within me,
then thou knewest my path. In
the way wherein I walked have
they privily laid a
snare for me.
Although my spirit grows
faint within me, You know my way. Along
the path I travel
they have hidden a
snare for me.
I looked on my right hand, and
beheld, but
there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.
I
cried unto
thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in
the land of
the living.
I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
