Also, thou son of man,
appoint thee two
ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both
twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.
“Now you, son of man, mark out two roads for the sword of the king of Babylon to take, both starting from the same land. And make a
signpost where the road branches off to each city.
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two
ways, to use
divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
For the king of Babylon stands at the
fork in the road, at the junction of the two roads, to seek an
omen: He shakes the arrows, he consults the idols, he examines the liver.
Therefore have I poured out mine
indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I
recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
So I have poured out My
indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My
fury. I have brought their
ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I
spare, neither will I
repent; according to thy
ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.
I, the LORD, have spoken; the time is coming, and I will act. I will not
refrain or show
pity, nor will I relent. I will judge you according to your
ways and deeds,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
Thou
wast perfect in thy
ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

blameless in your
ways— until wickedness was found in you.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they
defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

defiled it by their own
ways and deeds. Their
behavior before Me was like the uncleanness of a woman’s impurity.

dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall

ways, O house of Israel.

ashamed and disgraced for your
ways, O house of Israel!

Nebuchadnezzar praise and
extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his
ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to

Nebuchadnezzar, praise and
exalt and
glorify the King of heaven, for all His works are true and all His
ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy
ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your
ways.

ways and repay him according to his deeds.

swerving from the course.

sackcloth, and cry
mightily unto God:
yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

And many nations will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His
ways, so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil
ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor
hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Turn now from your evil
ways and deeds.’ But they did not
listen or pay attention to Me, declares the LORD.
But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

repented and said, ‘Just as the LORD of Hosts purposed to do to us according to our
ways and deeds, so He has done to us.’”

wilt walk in my
ways, and if thou

ways and keep My instructions, then you will
govern My house and will also have charge of My courts; and I will give you a place among these who are standing here.

ways smooth.

ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among

ways.”

subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness,

deceit and
trickery! Will you never stop
perverting the straight
ways of the Lord?

childish ways.
Instead, we have
renounced secret and shameful
ways. We do not practice
deceit, nor do we
distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open
proclamation of the truth, we

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have
oftentimes proved

ways, and now even more so by his great confidence in you.
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
in which you used to walk when you
conformed to the

In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
When you lived among them, you also used to walk in these ways.

grieved with that generation, and said, They do
alway err in their heart; and they have not known my
ways.

ways.’

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man
fade away in his
ways.

scorching heat and
withers the plant; its flower falls and its beauty is lost. So too, the rich man will
fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
For in many things we
offend all. If any man
offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to
bridle the whole body.
We all
stumble in many
ways. If
anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to control his whole body.

ways, O King of the nations!

alway, and desire of him that thy
ways may be directed, and that all thy paths and counsels may

worthily: and who is able to conceive his
ways?
