candle shined upon my head, and
when by his light I walked through darkness;
when His lamp
shone above my head, and by His light I walked through the darkness,

When the
Almighty was yet with me,
when my children were about me;
when the
Almighty was still with me and my children were around me,

angry, and ye perish from the way,

captive people, let Jacob
rejoice, let Israel be
glad!

But as for me,
when they were sick, my clothing was
sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own
bosom.

But in mine
adversity they
rejoiced, and gathered themselves together:

stumbled, they assembled in
glee; they gathered together against me. Assailants I did not know
slandered me without ceasing.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:
fret not

fret when men
prosper in their ways,
when they carry out wicked schemes.

dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to
consume away like a

When will he die and be forgotten?”

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When shall I come and appear in God’s presence?
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept
holyday.
These things come to mind as I pour out my soul: how I walked with the multitude, leading the
procession to the house of God with shouts of joy and praise.

Nations
rage, kingdoms
crumble; the earth melts
when He lifts His voice.
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Why should I fear in times of trouble,
when wicked usurpers
surround me?
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Do not be
amazed when a man grows rich,
when the
splendor of his house increases.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
For when he dies, he will carry nothing away; his abundance will not follow him down.
