Then Abraham fell upon his face, and
laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall
Sarah, that is
ninety years old, bear?
Abraham fell facedown. Then he
laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can
Sarah give birth at the
age of
ninety?”
Now Abraham and
Sarah were old and well
stricken in
age; and it ceased to be with
Sarah after the manner of women.

Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old
age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
So
Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old
age, at the very time God had promised.
And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that
Sarah should have given children
suck? for I have born him a son in his old
age.

Sarah would
nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old
age.”
And Abraham was old, and well
stricken in
age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
By now Abraham was old and well along in years, and the LORD had blessed him in every way.

firstborn to the youngest, and the men looked at one another in
astonishment.
And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

embalmed him, and he was put in a
coffin in Egypt.

age of 110. And they
embalmed his body and placed it in a
coffin in Egypt.

“This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years of age or older shall enter to perform the service in the work at the Tent of Meeting.
And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
But at the age of fifty, they must retire from performing the work and no longer serve.
Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have
murmured against me,
Your bodies will fall in this wilderness—all who were numbered in the census,
everyone twenty years of
age or older—because you have grumbled against Me.
Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.

Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
“Take a census of the men twenty years of age or older, as the LORD has commanded Moses.” And these were the Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt:
Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I
sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:
‘Because they did not follow Me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years of
age or older who came out of Egypt will see the land that I
swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and
stricken in
age.
A long time after the LORD had given Israel rest from all the enemies around them, when Joshua was old and well along in years,
And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and
stricken in
age:
he summoned all Israel, including its elders, leaders, judges, and officers. “I am old and well along in years,” he said,
And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of
Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
Some time later, Joshua son of
Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the

Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the
age of 110.

age and was buried in the tomb of his father
Joash in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a
nourisher of thine old
age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
He will renew your life and
sustain you in your old
age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.”
And thou shalt see an enemy in my
habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
You will see distress in My dwelling place.
Despite all that is good in Israel, no one in your house will ever again reach old
age.
And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to
consume thine eyes, and to
grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their
age.
And every one of you that I do not cut off from My altar, your eyes will fail and your heart will
grieve. All your descendants will die by the sword of men.
Now Barzillai was a very
aged man, even
fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of
sustenance while he lay at
Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.

And
Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to
Shiloh, and came to the house of
Ahijah. But
Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his
age.
The rest of all the acts of
Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old
age he was diseased in his feet.
Now the rest of the acts of
Asa, along with all his might, all his accomplishments, and the cities he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? In his old
age, however, he became diseased in his feet.
Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
The Levites thirty years of age or older were counted, and the total number of men was 38,000.

For according to the final instructions of David, the Levites twenty years of age or older were counted,
But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the LORD had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
David did not count the men aged twenty or under, because the LORD had said that He would make Israel as numerous as the stars of the sky.
And he died in a good old
age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his
stead.

When Jehoiada was old and full of years, he died at the age of 130.
Moreover
Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle
spear and shield.
Then
Amaziah gathered the people of Judah and assigned them according to their families to commanders of thousands and of hundreds. And he numbered those twenty years of
age or older throughout Judah and Benjamin and found 300,000 chosen men able to serve in the army, bearing the
spear and shield.
Beside their
genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;
In addition, they distributed portions to the males registered by
genealogy who were three years of
age or older—to all who would enter the house of the LORD for their daily duties for service in the responsibilities of their divisions—
Both to the
genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;
and to the priests
enrolled according to their families in the
genealogy, as well as to the Levites twenty years of
age or older, according to their duties and divisions.
Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who
slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no
compassion upon young man or
maiden, old man, or him that
stooped for
age: he gave them all into his hand.
So He brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who put their young men to the sword in the sanctuary,
sparing neither young men nor young women, neither elderly nor infirm. God gave them all into the hand of
Nebuchadnezzar,
Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began
Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the
remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.
In the second month of the second year after they had arrived at the house of God in Jerusalem,
Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Jeshua son of Jozadak, and the rest of their associates including the priests, the Levites, and all who had returned to Jerusalem from the captivity, began the work. They appointed Levites twenty years of
age or older to
supervise the construction of the house of the LORD.
And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabeel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.
Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, a
descendant of Zerah son of Judah, was the king’s
agent in every matter concerning the people.
Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full
age, like as a
shock of corn cometh in in his season.
You will come to the grave in full
vigor, like a
sheaf of grain gathered in season.
For
enquire, I pray thee, of the former
age, and prepare
thyself to the search of their fathers:
Please inquire of past generations and consider the discoveries of their fathers.
And thine
age shall be clearer than the
noonday; thou shalt
shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
Your life will be brighter than
noonday; its darkness will be like the morning.
He removeth away the speech of the
trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the
aged.
He deprives the trusted of speech and takes away the
discernment of elders.
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.
Both the gray-haired and the aged are on our side— men much older than your father.
The young men saw me, and
hid themselves: and the
aged arose, and stood up.
the young men saw me and withdrew, and the old men rose to their feet.
Yea,
whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old
age was perished?
What use to me was the strength of their hands, since their
vigor had left them?
I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
I thought that age should speak, and many years should teach wisdom.
Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
It is not only the old who are wise, or the elderly who understand justice.
He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in
adversity.
He says to himself, “I will not be moved; from age to age I am free of distress.”
Remember, O LORD, thy tender
mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Remember, O LORD, Your
compassion and loving devotion, for they are from
age to
age.
Behold, thou hast made my days as an
handbreadth; and mine
age is as nothing before thee:
verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.
Selah.
You, indeed, have made my days as handbreadths, and my lifetime as nothing before You. Truly each man at his best exists as but a breath.
Selah God shall hear, and
afflict them, even he that abideth of old.
Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
God will hear and
humiliate them— the One enthroned for the
ages—
Selah because they do not change and they have no fear of God.
Cast me not off in the time of old
age;
forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Do not discard me in my old
age; do not
forsake me when my strength fails.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
In old age they will still bear fruit; healthy and green they will remain,
Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of a son is his father.
Is there any thing
whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
Is there a case where one can say, “Look, this is new”? It has already existed in the ages before us.
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the
lees, of fat things full of
marrow, of wines on the
lees well refined.
On this mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a
banquet for all the peoples, a feast of
aged wine, of choice meat, of finely
aged wine.
Mine
age is departed, and is removed from me as a
shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a
weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
My dwelling has been
picked up and removed from me like a
shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a
weaver; He cuts me off from the
loom; from day until night You make an end of me.
“I have kept silent from
ages past; I have remained quiet and restrained. But now I will
groan like a woman in labor; I will at once
gasp and
pant.
But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an
everlasting salvation: ye shall not be
ashamed nor confounded world without end.
And even to your old
age I am he; and even to
hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Even to your old
age, I will be the same, and I will bear you up when you turn gray. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will
sustain you and deliver you.
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets of Dwelling.
Whereas thou hast been
forsaken and
hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal
excellency, a joy of many generations.
Therefore I am full of the
fury of the LORD; I am
weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the
aged with him that is full of days.
But I am full of the LORD’s wrath; I am
tired of holding it back. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the young men gathered together. For both husband and wife will be captured, the old and the very old alike.
He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
He has made me dwell in darkness like those dead for ages.
And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me
endanger my head to the king.
but he said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking
thinner than those of the other young men your
age? You would
endanger my head before the king!”
And
Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about
threescore and two years old.
and
Darius the
Mede received the kingdom at the
age of sixty-two.
A day of darkness and of
gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
a day of darkness and
gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like the
dawn overspreading the mountains a great and strong army appears, such as never was of old, nor will ever be in
ages to come.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Old men and old women will again sit along the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of great age.
And
whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be
forgiven him: but
whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be
forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be
forgiven, but
whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be
forgiven, either in this
age or in the one to come.
The enemy that
sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
