He that loveth his
brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of
stumbling in him.
Whoever loves his
brother remains in the light, and there is no cause of
stumbling in him.
But he that hateth his
brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not
whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
But
whoever hates his
brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his
brother.
By this the children of God are distinguished from the children of the devil:
Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is
anyone who does not love his
brother.
Not as
Cain, who was of that wicked one, and
slew his
brother. And wherefore
slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his
brother’s righteous.
Do not be like
Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his
brother. And why did
Cain slay him? Because his own deeds were evil, while those of his
brother were righteous.
So do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates you.
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
Whosoever hateth his
brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life
abiding in him.
Everyone who hates his
brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
But
whoso hath this world’s good, and
seeth his
brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of
compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
If
anyone with earthly possessions sees his
brother in need, but withholds his
compassion from him, how can the love of God
abide in him?
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his
brother, he is a
liar: for he that loveth not his
brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
If
anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his
brother, he is a
liar. For
anyone who does not love his
brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
And we have this commandment from Him:
Whoever loves God must love his
brother as well.
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
If
anyone sees his
brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
For I
rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and
testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
For I was overjoyed when the
brothers came and
testified about your devotion to the truth, in which you continue to walk.
Beloved, thou doest faithfully
whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
Beloved, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, and especially since they are strangers to you.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth,
prating against us with
malicious words: and not content
therewith, neither
doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
So if I come, I will call attention to his
malicious slander against us. And unsatisfied with that, he refuses to
welcome the
brothers and forbids those who want to do so, even putting them out of the church.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and
brother of James, to them that are
sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a
brother of James, To those who are called, loved by God the Father, and kept in Jesus Christ:
I John, who also am your
brother, and companion in
tribulation, and in the kingdom and
patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called
Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
I, John, your
brother and
partner in the
tribulation and kingdom and
perseverance that are in Jesus, was on the island of
Patmos because of the word of God and my testimony about Jesus.
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

robe and told to rest a little while longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their
brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.

accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

accuser of our
brothers has been thrown down— he who accuses them day and night before our God.
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
So I fell at his feet to worship him. But he told me, “Do not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your
brothers who
rely on the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

brother, and the sons of Madiabun, with the sons of Joda the son of Eliadun, with their sons and brethren, all Levites, with one
accord setters forward of the business, labouring to advance the works in the house of God. So the workmen built the temple of the Lord.

And there passed not five and fifty days, before two of his sons killed him, and they fled into the mountains of Ararath; and Sarchedonus his son reigned in his
stead; who appointed over his father’s accounts, and over all his affairs, Achiacharus my
brother Anael’s son.
And Achiacharus intreating for me, I returned to Nineve. Now Achiacharus was
cupbearer, and keeper of the
signet, and

Brother,
shew me of what tribe and family thou art.

brother, thy kindred and name.
Then
Tobit said, Thou art
welcome,
brother; be not now
angry with me, because I have enquired to know thy tribe and thy family; for thou art my
brother, of an
honest and good stock: for I know
Ananias and Jonathas, sons of that great Samaias, as we went together to Jerusalem to worship, and offered the
firstborn, and the tenths of the fruits; and they were not
seduced with the error of our brethren: my
brother, thou art of a good stock.
Then the young man said to the angel, Brother Azarias, to what use is the heart and the liver and the gal of the fish?
The angel said to the young man,
Brother, to day we shall
lodge with Raguel, who is thy cousin; he also hath one only daughter, named Sara; I will speak for her, that she may be given thee for a wife.
Then the young man answered the angel, I have heard,
brother Azarias that this
maid hath been given to seven men, who all died in the marriage chamber.
Then the angel said unto him,
Dost thou not remember the precepts which thy father gave thee, that thou shouldest marry a wife of thine own kindred? wherefore hear me, O my
brother; for she shall be given thee to wife; and make thou no
reckoning of the evil spirit; for this same night shall she be given thee in marriage.
And likewise Edna his wife and Sara his daughter
wept. Moreover they entertained them
cheerfully; and after that they had killed a ram of the flock, they set store of meat on the table. Then said Tobias to Raphael,
Brother Azarias, speak of those things of which thou
didst talk in the way, and let this business be
dispatched.
Brother Azarias, take with thee a servant, and two camels, and go to Rages of Media to Gabael, and bring me the money, and bring him to the
wedding.
And he said to his daughter, Honour thy father and thy mother in law, which are now thy parents, that I may hear good report of thee. And he
kissed her. Edna also said to Tobias, The Lord of heaven restore thee, my

entreat her evil.

brother, be of good
cheer:

brother; neither do the like to thy friend.

brother for the gold of

brother cometh to be
lodged, and I have need of mine house.

brother: for thou hast need of him, as of thine own soul: if thou

brother, and went up, and
hid themselves under the
