few days, until thy brother’s

Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to
stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the
Canaanites and the
Perizzites: and I being
few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and
slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
Then Jacob said to
Simeon and Levi, “You have brought trouble upon me by making me a
stench to the
Canaanites and
Perizzites, the people of this land. We are
few in number; if they unite against me and attack me, I and my household will be destroyed.”
And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my
pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years:
few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their
pilgrimage.
“My travels have lasted 130 years,” Jacob replied. “My years have been
few and hard, and they have not

According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the
fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits
doth he sell unto thee.
You shall increase the price in proportion to a greater number of years, or decrease it in proportion to a lesser number of years; for he is selling you a given number of harvests.
And if there remain but
few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his
redemption.

rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you
few in number; and your high ways shall be
desolate.

rob you of your children, destroy your
livestock, and reduce your numbers, until your roads lie
desolate.

See what the land is like and whether its people are strong or weak, few or many.
To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
Increase the inheritance for a large tribe and decrease it for a small one; each tribe is to receive its inheritance according to the number of those registered.
According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
Each inheritance is to be divided by lot among the larger and smaller tribes.”
And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the
fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man’s inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall
inherit.

And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.

apportion from the territory of the Israelites should be given to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one.”
And the LORD shall
scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left
few in number among the heathen,
whither the LORD shall lead you.
Then the LORD will
scatter you among the peoples, and only a
few of you will
survive among the nations to which the LORD will drive you.
The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.
And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A
Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and
sojourned there with a
few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and
populous:

Aramean, and he went down to Egypt
few in number and lived there and became a great nation, mighty and numerous.
And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left few in number, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

few.
Let
Reuben live and not die, nor his men be
few.”

smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but
few.

Ai. Since the people of
Ai are so
few, you need not wear out all our people there.”
And
Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these
uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by
few.
Jonathan said to the young man bearing his
armor, “Come, let us cross over to the outpost of these
uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will work on our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by
few.”
And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab’s anger was
kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down
hither? and with whom hast thou left those
few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the
naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
Now when David’s oldest brother Eliab heard him speaking to the men, his anger burned against David. “Why have you come down here?” he asked. “And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and wickedness of heart—you have come down to see the battle!”
Then he said, Go,
borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels;

When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.
When they were few in number, few indeed, and strangers in the land,
For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had
forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against
Joash.
Although the
Aramean army had come with only a
few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army. Because Judah had
forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, judgment was executed on
Joash.
But the priests were too
few, so that they could not
flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had
sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to
sanctify themselves than the priests.
However, since there were not enough priests to skin all the burnt offerings, their
Levite brothers helped them until the work was finished and until the priests had been consecrated. For the Levites had been more
diligent in
consecrating themselves than the priests had been.
And I arose in the night, I and some
few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I
rode upon.
I set out at night with a
few men. I did not tell
anyone what my God had laid on my heart to do for Jerusalem. The only animal with me was the one on which I was riding.
Now the city was large and great: but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.
Now the city was large and
spacious, but there were
few people in it, and the houses had not yet been rebuilt.
Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,
Are my days not few? Withdraw from me, that I may have a little comfort,
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
“Man, who is born of woman, is short of days and full of trouble.
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the
oppressor.
A wicked man writhes in pain all his days; only a
few years are reserved for the
ruthless.
When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
For when only a few years are past I will go the way of no return.
When they were but a
few men in number;
yea, very
few, and strangers in it.
When they were few in number, few indeed, and strangers in the land,
Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
May his days be few; may another take his position.
I sought in mine heart to give myself unto wine, yet
acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
I sought to
cheer my body with wine and to embrace folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom—until I could see what was
worthwhile for men to do under heaven during the
few days of their lives.
Be not
rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be
hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be
few.
Do not be quick to speak, and do not be
hasty in your heart to utter a word before God. After all, God is in heaven and you are on earth. So let your words be
few.
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of life that God has given him—for this is his lot.
For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
For who knows what is good for a man during the few days in which he passes through his fleeting life like a shadow? Who can tell a man what will come after him under the sun?
There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it:
There was a small city with few men. A mighty king came against it, surrounded it, and built large siege ramps against it.
In the day when the keepers of the house shall
tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are
few, and those that look out of the windows be
darkened,
on the day the keepers of the house
tremble and the strong men
stoop, when those
grinding cease because they are
few and those watching through windows see
dimly,
Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small
remnant, we should have been as
Sodom, and we should have been like unto
Gomorrah.
Unless the LORD of Hosts had left us a
few survivors, we would have become like
Sodom, we would have resembled
Gomorrah.
Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither
doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a
few.
But this is not his intention; this is not his plan. For it is in his heart to destroy and cut off many nations.
And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
The remaining trees of its forests will be so few that a child could count them.
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an
hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be
contemned, with all that great multitude; and the
remnant shall be very small and feeble.
And now the LORD says, “In three years, as a
hired worker counts the years, Moab’s
splendor will become an object of contempt, with all her many people. And those who are left will be
few and feeble.”
And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of
Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
The remaining archers, the warriors of
Kedar, will be
few.” For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
Therefore hath the
curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are
desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and
few men left.
Therefore a
curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants must bear the guilt; the earth’s dwellers have been burned, and only a
few survive.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy
redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Do not fear, O worm of Jacob, O
few men of Israel. I will help you,” declares the LORD. “Your
Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the
sinner being an hundred years old shall be
accursed.
No longer will a
nursing infant live but a
few days, or an old man fail to live out his years. For the youth will die at a hundred years, and he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered
accursed.
And out of them shall proceed
thanksgiving and the voice of them that make
merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be
few; I will also
glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Thanksgiving will proceed from them, a sound of
celebration. I will multiply them, and they will not be decreased; I will honor them, and they will not be
belittled.
And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we
beseech thee, our
supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this
remnant; (for we are left but a
few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:)
Jeremiah the prophet and said, “May our petition come before you; pray to the LORD your God on behalf of this entire
remnant. For
few of us remain of the many, as you can see with your own eyes.
So that none of the
remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
so that none of the
remnant of Judah who have gone to reside in Egypt will escape or
survive to return to the land of Judah, where they long to return and live; for none will return except a
few fugitives.”
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Those who escape the sword will return from Egypt to Judah,
few in number, and the whole
remnant of Judah who went to dwell in the land of Egypt will know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs!
Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.
But you are to take a few strands of hair and secure them in the folds of your garment.
Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
Again, take a few of these, throw them into the fire, and burn them. From there a fire will spread to the whole house of Israel.
But I will leave a
few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the
pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen
whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
But I will
spare a
few of them from sword and famine and plague, so that in the nations to which they go, they can recount all their abominations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
In his place one will arise who will send out a tax
collector for the glory of the kingdom; but within a
few days he will be destroyed, though not in anger or in battle.
And after the league made with him he shall work
deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
After an alliance is made with him, he will act
deceitfully; for he will rise to power with only a
few people.
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is
plenteous, but the labourers are
few;
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is
plentiful, but the workers are
few.
And Jesus saith unto them, How many
loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a
few little fishes.
“How many
loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied, “and a
few small fish.”
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
For many are called, but few are chosen.
For many are called, but few are chosen.”
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’
And again he entered into
Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
A
few days later Jesus went back to
Capernaum. And when the people heard that He was home,
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a
few sick
folk, and
healed them.
So He could not perform any miracles there, except to lay His hands on a
few of the sick and
heal them.
And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.
They also had a few small fish, and Jesus blessed them and ordered that these be set before them as well.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
And He told them, “The harvest is
plentiful, but the workers are
few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with
few stripes. For unto
whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with
few blows. From
everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded.
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
“Lord,” someone asked Him, “will only a few people be saved?” Jesus answered,
And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with
riotous living.
After a
few days, the younger son got everything together and journeyed to a distant country, where he
squandered his wealth in wild living.
After this he went down to
Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
After this, He went down to
Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a
few days.
For John truly
baptized with water; but ye shall be
baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
For John
baptized with water, but in a
few days you will be
baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
And he commanded them to be
baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to
tarry certain days.
So he ordered that they be
baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a
few days.
And some of them believed, and
consorted with Paul and
Silas; and of the
devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a
few.
Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and
Silas, along with a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a
few leading women.
Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
As a result, many of them believed, along with quite a few prominent Greek women and men.
Notwithstanding, that I be not further
tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy
clemency a
few words.
But in order not to burden you any further, I
beg your
indulgence to hear us briefly.
How that by revelation he made known unto me the
mystery; (as I wrote
afore in
few words,
that is, the
mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
For they
verily for a
few days
chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his
holiness.
Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His
holiness.
And I
beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of
exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in
few words.
I
urge you, brothers, to bear with my word of
exhortation, for I have only written to you briefly.
Which
sometime were
disobedient, when once the
longsuffering of God waited in the days of
Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein
few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of
Noah while the ark was being built. In the ark a
few people, only eight souls, were saved through water.
But I have a
few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of
Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit
fornication.
But I have a
few things against you, because some of you hold to the teaching of
Balaam, who taught Balak to place a
stumbling block before the Israelites so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.
Notwithstanding I have a
few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman
Jezebel, which calleth herself a
prophetess, to teach and to
seduce my servants to commit
fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
But I have this against you: You
tolerate that woman
Jezebel, who calls herself a
prophetess. By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
Thou hast a
few names even in
Sardis which have not
defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
But you do have a
few people in
Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white.
Go, and ye shall receive: pray for
few days unto you, that they may be
shortened: the kingdom is already prepared for you: watch.
Then I answered and said, How, and when shall these things come to pass? wherefore are our years few and evil?
Then were the entrances of this world made narrow, full of sorrow and
travail: they are but
few and evil, full of perils,: and very painful.
There should be very
few left
peradventure in an innumerable multitude.
And he answered me, saying, The most High hath made this world for many, but the world to come for few.
There be many created, but few shall be saved.
These things have I not shewed unto all men, but unto thee, and a few like thee. Then answered I and said,
For thou art blessed above many other, and art called with the Highest; and so are but few.
He gave them few days, and a short time, and power also over the things therein.
Let thy speech be short,
comprehending much in
few words; be as one that knoweth and yet holdeth his tongue.
A good life hath but few days: but a good name endureth for ever.
There are yet
hid greater things than these be, for we have seen but a
few of his works.
Let thy wrath turn from us: for we are but a few left among the heathen, where thou hast scattered us.
Who, when they saw the host coming to meet them, said unto
Judas, How shall we be able, being so
few, to fight against so great a multitude and so strong, seeing we are ready to
faint with fasting all this day?
Unto whom
Judas answered, It is no hard matter for many to be shut up in the hands of a
few; and with the God of heaven it is all one, to deliver with a great multitude, or a small company:
There were but a
few left in the sanctuary, because the famine did so prevail against them, that they were
fain to
disperse themselves, every man to his own place.
