Eden, along with a

flame to guard the way to the tree of life.

flame of fire out of the midst of a
bush: and he looked, and, behold, the
bush burned with fire, and the
bush was not consumed.

blazing fire from within a
bush. Moses saw the
bush ablaze with fire, but it was not consumed.
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the
flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
For there is a fire gone out of
Heshbon, a
flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of
Arnon.

blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of
Arnon’s heights.

flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the
flame of the altar. And
Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
When the
flame went up from the altar to the sky, the angel of the LORD ascended in the
flame. When
Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell facedown to the ground.
Now there were men lying in wait,
abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee,
Samson. And he
brake the withs, as a thread of
tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
While the men were hidden in her room, she called out, “
Samson, the Philistines are here!” But he
snapped the bowstrings like a
strand of yarn
seared by a
flame. So the source of his strength remained unknown.
Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.

But when the
flame began to arise up out of the city with a
pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the
flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
But when the column of smoke began to go up from the city, the Benjamites looked behind them and saw the whole city going up in smoke.

He will not escape from the darkness; the flame will wither his shoots, and the breath of God’s mouth will carry him away.
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the
spark of his fire shall not
shine.

extinguished; the
flame of his fire does not
glow.

ablaze, and
flames pour from his mouth.

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
As fire consumes a forest, as a
flame sets the mountains
ablaze,

He makes the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.
And a fire was
kindled in their company; the
flame burned up the wicked.
Then fire
blazed through their company;
flames consumed the wicked.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most
vehement flame.
Set me as a seal over your heart, as a seal upon your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as
unrelenting as
Sheol. Its sparks are
fiery flames, the fiercest
blaze of all.
And the strong shall be as
tow, and the maker of it as a
spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall
quench them.
The strong man will become
tinder and his work will be a
spark; both will burn together, with no one to
quench the
flames.
And the LORD will
create upon every dwelling place of mount
Zion, and upon her
assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the
shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
Then the LORD will
create over all of Mount
Zion and over her
assemblies a cloud of smoke by day and a
glowing flame of fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a
canopy,
Therefore as the fire devoureth the
stubble, and the
flame consumeth the
chaff, so their root shall be as
rottenness, and their
blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and
despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes the straw, and as dry grass shrivels in the
flame, so their roots will decay and their blossoms will blow away like dust; for they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of Hosts and
despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones
leanness; and under his glory he shall
kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
Therefore the Lord GOD of Hosts will send a wasting disease among Assyria’s
stout warriors, and under his
pomp will be
kindled a fire like a burning
flame.
And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a
flame: and it shall burn and
devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
And the Light of Israel will become a fire, and its Holy One a
flame. In a single day it will burn and
devour Assyria’s thorns and thistles.
And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be
amazed one at another; their faces shall be as
flames.
Terror, pain, and
anguish will seize them; they will
writhe like a woman in labor. They will look at one another, their faces
flushed with fear.
And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall
shew the lighting down of his arm, with the
indignation of his anger, and with the
flame of a
devouring fire, with
scattering, and
tempest, and hailstones.
And the LORD will cause His
majestic voice to be heard and His mighty arm to be revealed, striking in
angry wrath with a
flame of
consuming fire, and with cloudburst, storm, and hailstones.
The sinners in
Zion are afraid;
fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the
devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with
everlasting burnings?
Therefore he hath poured upon him the
fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
So He poured out on them His
furious anger and the fierceness of battle. It
enveloped them in
flames, but they did not understand; it consumed them, but they did not take it to heart.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the
flame kindle upon thee.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not
overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be
scorched; the
flames will not set you
ablaze.
Behold, they shall be as
stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the
flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Surely they are like
stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the
flame. There will be no coals to warm them or fire to sit beside.
Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Behold, I have created the
craftsman who fans the coals into
flame and forges a weapon fit for its task; and I have created the destroyer to
wreak havoc.
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his
chariots like a
whirlwind, to render his anger with
fury, and his
rebuke with
flames of fire.
They that fled stood under the shadow of
Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of
Heshbon, and a
flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall
devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the
tumultuous ones.
“Those who
flee will stand helpless in
Heshbon’s shadow, because fire has gone forth from
Heshbon and a
flame from within Sihon. It devours the foreheads of Moab and the skulls of the sons of
tumult.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the
folk in the fire, and they shall be
weary.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Babylon’s thick walls will be leveled, and her high gates consumed by fire. So the labor of the people will be for nothing; the nations will
exhaust themselves to fuel the
flames.”
And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will
kindle a fire in thee, and it shall
devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming
flame shall not be
quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
Say to the forest of the Negev: Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to
ignite in you a fire, and it will
devour all your trees, both green and dry. The
blazing flame will not be
quenched, and by it every face from south to north will be
scorched.
Therefore because the king’s commandment was
urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the
flame of the fire
slew those men that took up
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego.
The king’s command was so
urgent and the furnace so hot that the
fiery flames killed the men who carried up
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego.
I
beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the
fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
As I continued to watch, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all
ablaze.
I
beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I
beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning
flame.
Then I kept watching because of the
arrogant words the horn was speaking. As I continued to watch, the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and thrown into the
blazing fire.
And they that understand among the people shall
instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by
flame, by captivity, and by
spoil, many days.
Those with insight will
instruct many, though for a time they will fall by sword or
flame, or be captured or
plundered.
O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath
devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the
flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
To You, O LORD, I call, for fire has consumed the open pastures and
flames have
scorched all the trees of the field.
A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a
flame burneth: the land is as the garden of
Eden before them, and behind them a
desolate wilderness;
yea, and nothing shall escape them.
Before them a fire devours, and behind them a
flame scorches. The land before them is like the Garden of
Eden, but behind them, it is like a desert wasteland— surely nothing will escape them.
Like the noise of
chariots on the tops of mountains shall they
leap, like the noise of a
flame of fire that devoureth the
stubble, as a strong people set in battle
array.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all
pity, and his anger did
tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Edom, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and
stifled all
compassion; his anger
raged continually, and his
fury flamed incessantly.
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a
flame, and the house of
Esau for
stubble, and they shall
kindle in them, and
devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of
Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
Then the house of Jacob will be a
blazing fire, and the house of Joseph a burning
flame; but the house of
Esau will be
stubble— Jacob will set it
ablaze and
consume it. Therefore no
survivor will remain from the house of
Esau.” For the LORD has spoken.
And he
cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus, that he may dip the
tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am
tormented in this
flame.
So he
cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send
Lazarus to dip the
tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am in
agony in this fire.’

And when forty years were
expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a

Sinai.

If it is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as if through the flames.
Wherefore I put thee in
remembrance that thou
stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For this reason I remind you to
fan into
flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
Now about the angels He says: “He makes His angels winds, His servants flames of fire.”

The hair of His head was white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a
blazing fire.
And unto the angel of the church in
Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a
flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
To the angel of the church in

blazing fire and whose feet are like polished bronze.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
He has eyes like
blazing fire, and many royal crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.
So I stood, and saw, and, behold, an hot burning
oven passed by before me: and it happened that when the
flame was gone by I looked, and, behold, the smoke remained still.
And shall lay before them their evil thoughts, and the torments
wherewith they shall begin to be
tormented, which are like unto a
flame: and he shall destroy them without labour by the law which is like unto me.
For
sometime the
flame was
mitigated, that it might not burn up the beasts that were sent against the ungodly; but themselves might see and perceive that they were
persecuted with the judgment of God.
No power of the fire might give them light: neither could the bright
flames of the stars
endure to
lighten that
horrible night.
On the other side, the
flames wasted not the flesh of the corruptible living things, though they walked therein; neither melted they the
icy kind of heavenly meat that was of nature apt to
melt.
Kindle not the coals of a
sinner, lest thou be burnt with the
flame of his fire.
The congregation of the wicked is like
tow wrapped together: and the end of them is a
flame of fire to destroy them.
It shall not have rule over them that fear God, neither shall they be burned with the flame thereof.
This the Lord saw, and it displeased him, and in his wrathful
indignation were they consumed: he did wonders upon them, to
consume them with the
fiery flame.
So that the flame streamed forth above the furnace forty and nine cubits.
But the angel of the Lord came down into the
oven together with Azarias and his fellows, and
smote the
flame of the fire out of the
oven;
O
Ananias, Azarias, and Misael,
bless ye the Lord: praise and
exalt him above all for ever: far he hath delivered us from
hell, and saved us from the hand of death, and delivered us out of the midst of the furnace and burning
flame: even out of the midst of the fire hath he delivered us.
Ananias, Azarias, and Misael, by believing were saved out of the
flame.
When this was done, there was
kindled a
flame: but it was consumed by the light that
shined from the altar.
