And
Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his
flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto
Abel and to his offering:
while
Abel brought the best portions of the
firstborn of his
flock. And the LORD looked with favor on
Abel and his offering,
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
And behold, I will bring floodwaters upon the earth to destroy every creature under the heavens that has the breath of life. Everything on the earth will perish.
And
Noah was six hundred years old when the
flood of waters was upon the earth.

floodwaters came upon the earth.
And
Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the
flood.
And
Noah and his wife, with his sons and their wives, entered the ark to escape the waters of the
flood.
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
And after seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth.

And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and the waters rose and lifted the ark high above the earth.
And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
So the waters continued to
surge and rise greatly on the earth, and the ark
floated on the surface of the waters.
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained.
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
And I establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
And
Noah lived after the
flood three hundred and fifty years.
After the
flood,
Noah lived 350 years.
Now these are the generations of the sons of
Noah,
Shem,
Ham, and
Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the
flood.
This is the account of
Noah’s sons
Shem,
Ham, and
Japheth, who also had sons after the
flood.
These are the families of the sons of
Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the
flood.
All these are the clans of
Noah’s sons, according to their generations and nations. From these the nations of the earth spread out after the
flood.
These are the generations of
Shem:
Shem was an hundred years old, and
begat Arphaxad two years after the
flood:
This is the account of
Shem. Two years after the
flood, when
Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.
And Lot also, which went with
Abram, had
flocks, and herds, and tents.
Now Lot, who was traveling with
Abram, also had
flocks and herds and tents.
And Abraham
hastened into the tent unto
Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal,
knead it, and make cakes upon the
hearth.
So Abraham
hurried into the tent and said to
Sarah, “Quick! Prepare three seahs of fine
flour,
knead it, and
bake some bread.”
And Abraham set seven
ewe lambs of the
flock by themselves.
Abraham separated seven
ewe lambs from the
flock,
And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him
flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and
asses.
“The LORD has greatly blessed my master, and he has become rich. He has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, menservants and maidservants, camels and
donkeys.
For he had possession of
flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines
envied him.
He owned so many
flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines
envied him.
Go now to the
flock, and
fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
Go out to the
flock and bring me two choice young goats, so that I can make them into a
tasty dish for your father—the kind he loves.
And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.
He looked and saw a well in the field, and near it lay three flocks of sheep, because the sheep were watered from this well. And a large stone covered the mouth of the well.
And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.
When all the
flocks had been gathered there, the
shepherds would roll away the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.
And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.
But they replied, “We cannot, until all the flocks have been gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep.”
And it came to pass, when Jacob saw
Rachel the daughter of
Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of
Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the
flock of
Laban his mother’s brother.
As soon as Jacob saw
Rachel, the daughter of his mother’s brother
Laban, with
Laban’s sheep, he went up and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncle’s sheep.
And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou
wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy
flock:
“What can I give you?”
Laban asked. “You do not need to give me anything,” Jacob replied. “If you do this one thing for me, I will keep on
shepherding and keeping your
flocks.
I will pass through all thy
flock to day, removing from thence all the
speckled and
spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the
spotted and
speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my
hire.
Let me go through all your
flocks today and remove from them every
speckled or
spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, and every
spotted or
speckled goat. These will be my wages.
And he set three days journey
betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of
Laban’s
flocks.
Then he put a three-day journey between himself and Jacob, while Jacob was
shepherding the rest of
Laban’s
flocks.
And he set the rods which he had
pilled before the
flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the
flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.
Then he set the
peeled branches in the watering troughs in front of the
flocks coming in to drink. So when the
flocks were in heat and came to drink,
And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the
flocks toward the
ringstraked, and all the brown in the
flock of
Laban; and he put his own
flocks by themselves, and put them not unto
Laban’s cattle.
Jacob set apart the young, but made the rest face the
streaked dark-colored sheep in
Laban’s
flocks. Then he set his own stock apart and did not put them with
Laban’s animals.
And it came to pass,
whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.
Whenever the stronger females of the flock were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs, in full view of the animals, so that they would breed in front of the branches.
And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and
asses.
Thus Jacob became exceedingly prosperous. He owned large
flocks, maidservants and menservants, and camels and
donkeys.
And Jacob sent and called
Rachel and Leah to the field unto his
flock,
So Jacob sent word and called
Rachel and Leah to the field where his
flocks were,
If he said, ‘The
speckled will be your wages,’ then the whole
flock bore
speckled offspring. If he said, ‘The
streaked will be your wages,’ then the whole
flock bore
streaked offspring.
And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which
leaped upon the cattle were
ringstraked,
speckled, and
grisled.
When the
flocks were breeding, I saw in a dream that the
streaked,
spotted, and
speckled males were mating with the females.
‘Look up,’ he said, ‘and see that all the males that are mating with the
flock are
streaked,
spotted, or
speckled; for I have seen all that
Laban has done to you.
This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
I have been with you for twenty years now. Your sheep and goats have not miscarried, nor have I eaten the rams of your flock.
Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
Thus for twenty years I have served in your household—fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flocks—and you have changed my wages ten times!
And
Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
But
Laban answered Jacob, “These daughters are my daughters, these sons are my sons, and these
flocks are my
flocks! Everything you see is mine! Yet what can I do
today about these daughters of mine or the children they have borne?
And I have oxen, and
asses,
flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight.
I have oxen,
donkeys,
flocks, menservants, and maidservants. I have sent this message to inform my master, so that I may find favor in your sight.’”
Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands;
In great fear and distress, Jacob divided his people into two camps, as well as the flocks and herds and camels.
And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
But Jacob replied, “My lord knows that the children are
frail, and I must care for sheep and cattle that are
nursing their young. If they are driven hard for even a day, all the animals will die.
They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their
asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
They took their
flocks and herds and
donkeys, and everything else in the city or in the field.
These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the
flock with his brethren; and the
lad was with the sons of
Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
This is the account of Jacob. When Joseph was seventeen years old, he was tending the
flock with his brothers, the sons of his father’s wives
Bilhah and Zilpah, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
And his brethren went to feed their father’s
flock in
Shechem.
Some time later, Joseph’s brothers had gone to pasture their father’s
flocks near
Shechem.
And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the
flock in
Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I.
Israel said to him, “Are not your brothers pasturing the
flocks at
Shechem? Get ready; I am sending you to them.” “I am ready,” Joseph replied.
And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the
flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the
vale of
Hebron, and he came to
Shechem.
Then Israel told him, “Go now and see how your brothers and the
flocks are faring, and bring word back to me.” So he sent him off from the Valley of
Hebron. And when Joseph arrived in
Shechem,
And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.
“I am looking for my brothers,” Joseph replied. “Can you please tell me where they are pasturing their flocks?”
And he said, I will send thee a
kid from the
flock. And she said,
Wilt thou give me a
pledge, till thou send it?
“I will send you a young goat from my
flock,” Judah answered. But she replied, “Only if you leave me something as a
pledge until you send it.”
And thou shalt dwell in the land of
Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children’s children, and thy
flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
You shall settle in the land of
Goshen and be near me—you and your children and grandchildren, your
flocks and herds, and everything you own.
And the men are
shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their
flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
The men are
shepherds; they raise
livestock, and they have brought their
flocks and herds and all that they own.’
Then Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their
flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of
Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of
Goshen.
So Joseph went and told Pharaoh: “My father and my brothers, with their
flocks and herds and all they own, have come from the land of
Canaan and are now in
Goshen.”
They said moreover unto Pharaoh, For to
sojourn in the land are we come; for thy servants have no pasture for their
flocks; for the famine is
sore in the land of
Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of
Goshen.
Then they said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live in the land for a time, because there is no pasture for the
flocks of your servants, since the famine in the land of
Canaan has been severe. So now, please allow your servants to settle in the land of
Goshen.”
And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the
flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the
asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.
So they brought their
livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their
flocks and herds, and their
donkeys. Throughout that year he provided them with food in exchange for all their
livestock.
And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father’s house: only their little ones, and their
flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of
Goshen.
along with all of Joseph’s household, and his brothers, and his father’s household. Only their children and
flocks and herds were left in
Goshen.
And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they
mourned with a great and very
sore lamentation: and he made a
mourning for his father seven days.
When they reached the
threshing floor of Atad, which is across the Jordan, they
lamented and
wailed loudly, and Joseph
mourned for his father seven days.
But the more they
afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were
grieved because of the children of Israel.
But the more they were
oppressed, the more they multiplied and
flourished; so the Egyptians came to
dread the Israelites.
Now the priest of
Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s
flock.
Now the priest of
Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s
flock.
And the
shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their
flock.
And when some
shepherds came along and drove them away, Moses rose up to help them and watered their
flock.
And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the
shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the
flock.
“An Egyptian
rescued us from the
shepherds,” they replied. “He even drew water for us and watered the
flock.”
Now Moses kept the
flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of
Midian: and he led the
flock to the
backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to
Horeb.
Meanwhile, Moses was
shepherding the
flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of
Midian. He led the
flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to
Horeb, the mountain of God.
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land
flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the
Canaanites, and the
Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the
Perizzites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the
asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very
grievous murrain.
then the hand of the LORD will bring a severe plague on your
livestock in the field—on your horses,
donkeys, camels, herds, and
flocks.
And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
“We will go with our young and old,” Moses replied. “We will go with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your little ones may go with you; only your flocks and herds must stay behind.”
Also take your
flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and
bless me also.
Take your
flocks and herds as well, just as you have said, and depart! And
bless me also.”
And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
And a mixed multitude also went up with them, along with great droves of
livestock, both
flocks and herds.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the
Canaanites, and the
Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he
sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land
flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
And when the LORD brings you into the land of the
Canaanites,
Hittites,
Amorites,
Hivites, and Jebusites—the land He
swore to your fathers that He would give you, a land
flowing with milk and honey—you shall keep this service in this month.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their
chariots, and upon their
horsemen.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the waters may
flow back over the Egyptians and their
chariots and
horsemen.”
And the waters returned, and covered the
chariots, and the
horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
The waters
flowed back and covered the
chariots and
horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had
chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the
floods stood upright as an
heap, and the depths were
congealed in the heart of the sea.
At the blast of Your nostrils the waters piled up; like a wall the currents stood firm; the depths
congealed in the heart of the sea.
And when the
dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the
hoar frost on the ground.
When the layer of
dew had
evaporated, there were thin flakes on the desert
floor, as fine as
frost on the ground.
And thou shalt make a
candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the
candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his
bowls, his knops, and his
flowers, shall be of the same.
Then you are to make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. It shall be made of one piece, including its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.
Three
bowls made like unto almonds, with a
knop and a
flower in one branch; and three
bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a
knop and a
flower: so in the six branches that come out of the
candlestick.
There are to be three cups shaped like
almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extend from the lampstand.
And in the
candlestick shall be four
bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their
flowers.
And on the lampstand there shall be four cups shaped like
almond blossoms with buds and petals.
And with the one lamb a tenth deal of
flour mingled with the fourth part of an
hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an
hin of wine for a drink offering.
With the first lamb offer a tenth of an
ephah of fine
flour, mixed with a quarter
hin of oil from pressed olives, and a drink offering of a quarter
hin of wine.
Unto a land
flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I
consume thee in the way.
Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people; otherwise, I might destroy you on the way.”
And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
No one may go up with you; in fact, no one may be seen
anywhere on the mountain—not even the
flocks or herds may
graze in front of the mountain.”
And he made the
candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work made he the
candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his
bowls, his knops, and his
flowers, were of the same:
Then he made the lampstand out of pure hammered gold, all of one piece: its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.
Three
bowls made after the fashion of almonds in one branch, a
knop and a
flower; and three
bowls made like almonds in another branch, a
knop and a
flower: so throughout the six branches going out of the
candlestick.
There were three cups shaped like
almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extended from the lampstand.
And in the
candlestick were four
bowls made like almonds, his knops, and his
flowers:
And on the lampstand were four cups shaped like
almond blossoms with buds and petals.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the
herd, and of the
flock.
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the LORD, you may bring as your offering an animal from the
herd or the
flock.
And if his offering be of the
flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without
blemish.
If, however, one’s offering is a burnt offering from the
flock—from the sheep or goats—he is to present an
unblemished male.
And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine
flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put
frankincense thereon:
“When
anyone brings a grain offering to the LORD, his offering must consist of fine
flour. He is to pour olive oil on it, put
frankincense on it,
And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take
thereout his handful of the
flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the
frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the
memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:
and bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the
flour and oil, together with all the
frankincense, and burn this as a
memorial portion on the altar, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
If your offering is a grain offering prepared on a
griddle, it must be
unleavened bread made of fine
flour mixed with oil.
And if thy
oblation be a meat offering
baken in the
frying pan, it shall be made of fine
flour with oil.
If your offering is a grain offering
cooked in a pan, it must consist of fine
flour with oil.
And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the
flock; male or female, he shall offer it without
blemish.
If, however, one’s peace offering to the LORD is from the
flock, he must present a male or female without
blemish.
And he shall bring his
trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath
sinned, a female from the
flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his sin.
and he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD for the sin he has committed: a female lamb or goat from the
flock as a sin offering. And the priest will make
atonement for him concerning his sin.
But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that
sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an
ephah of fine
flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any
frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.
But if he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he may bring a tenth of an
ephah of fine
flour as a sin offering. He must not put olive oil or
frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.
If a soul commit a
trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his
trespass unto the LORD a ram without
blemish out of the
flocks, with thy
estimation by shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a
trespass offering:
“If someone acts unfaithfully and sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s holy things, he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram from the
flock, of proper value in silver shekels according to the sanctuary
shekel; it is a guilt offering.
And he shall bring a ram without
blemish out of the
flock, with thy
estimation, for a
trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he
erred and
wist it not, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He is to bring to the priest an
unblemished ram of proper value from the
flock as a guilt offering. Then the priest will make
atonement on his behalf for the wrong he has committed in ignorance, and he will be
forgiven.
Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram of proper value from the
flock.
And he shall take of it his handful, of the
flour of the meat offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the
frankincense which is upon the meat offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the LORD.
The priest is to remove a handful of fine
flour and olive oil, together with all the
frankincense from the grain offering, and burn the
memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
