hither again: for the
iniquity of the
Amorites is not yet full.

iniquity of the
Amorites is not yet complete.”
And when the morning arose, then the angels
hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the
iniquity of the city.
At
daybreak the angels
hurried Lot along, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”
And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.
“What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied. “How can we
plead? How can we
justify ourselves? God has exposed the
iniquity of your servants. We are now my lord’s slaves—both we and the one who was found with the cup.”
Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me;
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
And it shall be upon Aaron’s
forehead, that Aaron may bear the
iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall
hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his
forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
And it will be worn on Aaron’s
forehead, so that he may bear the
iniquity of the holy things that the sons of Israel
consecrate with regard to all their holy gifts. It shall always be on his
forehead, so that they may be acceptable before the LORD.
And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.
Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not
incur guilt and die. This is to be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants.
Keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
maintaining loving devotion to a thousand generations,
forgiving iniquity,
transgression, and sin. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the
iniquity of the fathers on their children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and
pardon our
iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
“O Lord,” he said, “if I have indeed found favor in Your sight, my Lord, please go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people,
forgive our
iniquity and sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of
swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his
iniquity.
“If someone sins by failing to
testify when he hears a public charge about something he has witnessed, whether he has seen it or learned of it, he shall bear the
iniquity.
And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he
wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his
iniquity.
If someone sins and
violates any of the LORD’s commandments even though he was unaware, he is guilty and shall bear his punishment.
And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an
abomination, and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his
iniquity.
If any of the meat from his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who presented it; it shall be an
abomination, and the one who eats of it shall bear his
iniquity.
Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the
iniquity of the congregation, to make
atonement for them before the LORD?
“Why didn’t you eat the sin offering in the holy place? For it is most holy; it was given to you to take away the guilt of the congregation by making
atonement for them before the LORD.
But if he wash them not, nor
bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his
iniquity.
But if he does not wash his clothes and
bathe himself, then he shall bear his
iniquity.”
And the land is
defiled: therefore I do visit the
iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Even the land has become
defiled, so I am
punishing it for its sin, and the land will
vomit out its inhabitants.
Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his
iniquity, because he hath
profaned the
hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Whoever eats it will bear his
iniquity, for he has
profaned what is holy to the LORD. That person must be cut off from his people.
And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
If a man marries his sister, whether the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.
And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near
kin: they shall bear their
iniquity.
You must not have sexual relations with the sister of your mother or your father, for it is
exposing one’s own
kin; both shall bear their
iniquity.
Or suffer them to bear the
iniquity of
trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do
sanctify them.

And they that are left of you shall pine away in their
iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the
iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
Those of you who
survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away in their
iniquity and will decay in the sins of their fathers.
If they shall
confess their
iniquity, and the
iniquity of their fathers, with their
trespass which they
trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
But if they will
confess their
iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, by which they have also walked in hostility toward Me—
And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their
uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their
iniquity:
and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their
uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will make
amends for their
iniquity,
The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their
iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their
iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an
ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put
frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of
memorial, bringing
iniquity to
remembrance.
then he is to bring his wife to the priest. He must also bring for her an offering of a tenth of an
ephah of barley flour. He is not to pour oil over it or put
frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, an offering of
memorial as a reminder of
iniquity.

The husband will be free from guilt, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.”
The LORD is
longsuffering, and of great mercy,
forgiving iniquity and
transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion,
forgiving iniquity and
transgression. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the
iniquity of the fathers upon their children to the third and fourth generation.’
Pardon, I
beseech thee, the
iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast
forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
Pardon, I pray, the
iniquity of this people, in keeping with the greatness of Your loving devotion, just as You have
forgiven them ever since they left Egypt.”
Because he hath
despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his
iniquity shall be upon him.
He shall certainly be cut off, because he has
despised the word of the LORD and broken His commandment; his guilt remains on him.”
And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
So the LORD said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house must bear the iniquity involving the sanctuary. And you and your sons alone must bear the iniquity involving your priesthood.
But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
The Levites are to perform the work of the Tent of Meeting, and they must bear their iniquity. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come. The Levites will not receive an inheritance among the Israelites.
He hath not
beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen
perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the
shout of a king is among them.
He considers no
disaster for Jacob; He sees no trouble for Israel. The LORD their God is with them, and the
shout of the King is among them.
But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
But if he nullifies them after he hears of them, then he will bear her iniquity.”
Thou shalt not bow down
thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me,
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
A
lone witness is not sufficient to establish any
wrongdoing or sin against a man, regardless of what
offense he may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He.
Is the
iniquity of Peor too little for us, from which we are not
cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the LORD,
Was not the sin of Peor enough for us, from which we have not
cleansed ourselves to this day? It even brought a plague upon the congregation of the LORD.
Did not
Achan the son of Zerah commit a
trespass in the
accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his
iniquity.
Was not
Achan son of Zerah unfaithful regarding what was set apart for destruction, bringing wrath upon the whole congregation of Israel? Yet it was not only
Achan who perished because of his sin!’”
For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the
iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves
vile, and he restrained them not.
I told him that I would judge his house
forever for the
iniquity of which he knows, because his sons
blasphemed God and he did not restrain them.
And therefore I have
sworn unto the house of
Eli, that the
iniquity of
Eli’s house shall not be
purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
Therefore I have
sworn to the house of
Eli, ‘The
iniquity of
Eli’s house shall never be
atoned for by sacrifice or offering.’”
For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as
iniquity and
idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
For rebellion is like the sin of
divination, and
arrogance is like the wickedness of
idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”
And David fled from Naioth in
Ramah, and came and said before
Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine
iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
Then David fled from Naioth in
Ramah. He came to
Jonathan and asked, “What have I done? What is my
iniquity? How have I
sinned against your father, that he wants to take my life?”
Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me
iniquity,
slay me
thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
Therefore deal faithfully with your servant, for you have brought me into a covenant with you before the LORD. If there is
iniquity in me, then kill me
yourself; why should you bring me to your father?”
And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this
iniquity be: and let thine
handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine
audience, and hear the words of thine
handmaid.
She fell at his feet and said, “My lord, may the
blame be on me alone, but please let your servant speak to you; hear the words of your servant.
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit
iniquity, I will
chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.
And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father’s house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.
But the woman of Tekoa said to the king, “My lord the king, may any
blame be on me and on my father’s house, and may the king and his throne be guiltless.”
And
Absalom answered
Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come
hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king’s face; and if there be any
iniquity in me, let him kill me.
“Look,” said
Absalom, “I sent for you and said, ‘Come here. I want to send you to the king to ask: Why have I come back from Geshur? It would be better for me if I were still there.’ So now, let me see the king’s face, and if there is
iniquity in me, let him kill me.”
And said unto the king, Let not my lord
impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did
perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.
and said, “My lord, do not hold me guilty, and do not remember your servant’s
wrongdoing on the day my lord the king left Jerusalem. May the king not take it to heart.
I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
And I have been
blameless before Him and kept myself from
iniquity.
And David’s heart
smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have
sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I
beseech thee, O LORD, take away the
iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very
foolishly.
After David had numbered the troops, his conscience was
stricken and he said to the LORD, “I have
sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, O LORD, I
beg You to take away the
iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very
foolishly.”
And she said unto
Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to
remembrance, and to
slay my son?
“O man of God,” said the woman to
Elijah, “what have you done to me? Have you come to remind me of my
iniquity and cause the death of my son?”
And David said unto God, I have
sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I
beseech thee, do away the
iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very
foolishly.
Then David said to God, “I have
sinned greatly because I have done this thing. Now I
beg You to take away the
iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very
foolishly.”
Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take
heed and do it: for there is no
iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
And now, may the fear of the LORD be upon you. Be careful what you do, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or
partiality or
bribery.”
And cover not their
iniquity, and let not their sin be
blotted out from before thee: for they have
provoked thee to anger before the builders.
Do not cover up their
iniquity or let their sin be
blotted out from Your sight, for they have
provoked the builders.
Even as I have seen, they that
plow iniquity, and
sow wickedness,
reap the same.
As I have observed, those who
plow iniquity and those who
sow trouble
reap the same.
So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.
Return, I pray you, let it not be
iniquity;
yea, return again, my righteousness is in it.
Reconsider; do not be unjust. Reconsider, for my righteousness is at
stake.
And why
dost thou not
pardon my
transgression, and take away mine
iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.
Why do You not
pardon my
transgression and take away my
iniquity? For soon I will lie down in the dust; You will seek me, but I will be no more.”
That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?
that You should seek my iniquity and search out my sin—
If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou
wilt not
acquit me from mine
iniquity.
If I
sinned, You would take note, and would not
acquit me of my
iniquity.
And that he would
shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine
iniquity deserveth.
and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides. Know then that God exacts from you less than your iniquity deserves.
For he knoweth vain men: he
seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
Surely He knows the
deceit of men. If He sees
iniquity, does He not take note?
If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
if you put away the iniquity in your hand, and allow no injustice to dwell in your tents,
My
transgression would be sealed in a
bag, and You would cover over my
iniquity.
For thy mouth uttereth thine
iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the
crafty.
For your
iniquity instructs your mouth, and you choose the language of the
crafty.
how much less man, who is
vile and corrupt, who drinks injustice like water?
The heaven shall
reveal his
iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
The heavens will
expose his
iniquity, and the earth will rise up against him.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
It is said that God lays up one’s punishment for his children. Let God repay the man himself, so he will know it.
If thou return to the
Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away
iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
If you return to the
Almighty, you will be restored. If you remove injustice from your tents
Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?
For this is an
heinous crime;
yea, it is an
iniquity to be punished by the judges.
For that would be a
heinous crime, an
iniquity to be judged.
This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.
this would also be an iniquity to be judged, for I would have denied God on high.
If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine
iniquity in my
bosom:
if I have covered my transgressions like Adam by hiding my guilt in my heart,
I am clean without
transgression, I am innocent; neither is there
iniquity in me.
‘I am pure, without
transgression; I am clean, with no
iniquity in me.
Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
He keeps company with evildoers and walks with wicked men.
Therefore
hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the
Almighty, that he should commit
iniquity.
Therefore
listen to me, O men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wrong, and from the
Almighty to act unjustly.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
He opens their ears to correction and commands that they turn from iniquity.
Take
heed, regard not
iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than
affliction.
Be careful not to turn to
iniquity, for this you have preferred to
affliction.
Who hath
enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought
iniquity?
Who has appointed His way for Him, or told Him, ‘You have done wrong’?
The
foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of
iniquity.
The
boastful cannot stand in Your presence; You
hate all workers of
iniquity.
Depart from me, all ye workers of
iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my
weeping.
Depart from me, all you workers of
iniquity, for the LORD has heard my
weeping.
O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
O LORD my God, if I have done this, if injustice is on my hands,
Behold, he travaileth with
iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth
falsehood.
Behold, the wicked man travails with evil; he conceives trouble and births
falsehood.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
Will the workers of
iniquity never learn? They
devour my people like bread; they refuse to call upon the LORD.
I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
And I have been
blameless before Him and kept myself from
iniquity.
For thy name’s sake, O LORD,
pardon mine
iniquity; for it is great.
For the sake of Your name, O LORD,
forgive my
iniquity, for it is great.
Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
Do not
drag me away with the wicked, and with the workers of
iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbors while
malice is in their hearts.
For my life is spent with grief, and my years with
sighing: my strength faileth because of mine
iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
For my life is consumed with grief and my years with
groaning; my
iniquity has drained my strength, and my bones are wasting away.
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not
iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
guile.
Blessed is the man whose
iniquity the LORD does not count against him, in whose spirit there is no
deceit.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine
iniquity have I not
hid. I said, I will
confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the
iniquity of my sin.
Selah.
Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my
iniquity. I said, “I will
confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and You
forgave the guilt of my sin.
Selah For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his
iniquity be found to be
hateful.
The words of his mouth are
iniquity and
deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
The words of his mouth are wicked and
deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and well-doing.
There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
There the evildoers lie fallen, thrown down and unable to rise.
Fret not
thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou
envious against the workers of
iniquity.
Do not
fret over those who do evil; do not
envy those who do wrong.
For I will declare mine
iniquity; I will be
sorry for my sin.
Yes, I
confess my
iniquity; I am troubled by my sin.
When thou with rebukes
dost correct man for
iniquity, thou makest his beauty to
consume away like a
moth: surely every man is vanity.
Selah.
And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Why should I fear in times of trouble, when wicked usurpers
surround me?
Wash me throughly from mine
iniquity, and
cleanse me from my sin.
Wash me clean of my
iniquity and
cleanse me from my sin.
