And it shall become small dust in all the
land of Egypt, and shall be a
boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the
land of Egypt.
It will become fine dust over all the
land of Egypt, and
festering boils will break out on man and beast throughout the
land.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the
land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every
herb of the field, throughout the
land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that
hail may fall on all the
land of Egypt—on man and beast and every plant of the field throughout the
land of Egypt.”
And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained
hail upon the
land of Egypt.
So Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and
lightning struck the earth. So the LORD rained down
hail upon the
land of Egypt.
So there was
hail, and fire mingled with the
hail, very
grievous, such as there was none like it in all the
land of Egypt since it became a nation.
The
hail fell and the
lightning continued
flashing through it. The
hail was so severe that nothing like it had ever been seen in all the
land of Egypt from the time it became a nation.
And the
hail smote throughout all the
land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the
hail smote every
herb of the field, and
brake every tree of the field.
Throughout the
land of Egypt, the
hail struck down everything in the field, both man and beast; it beat down every plant of the field and
stripped every tree.
Only in the
land of
Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no
hail.
The only place where it did not
hail was in the
land of
Goshen, where the Israelites lived.
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and
hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
Then Moses departed from Pharaoh, went out of the city, and spread out his hands to the LORD. The
thunder and
hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured down on the
land.
And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the
hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
They will cover the face of the
land so that no one can see it. They will
devour whatever is left after the
hail and eat every tree that grows in your fields.
And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
They will fill your houses and the houses of all your officials and every Egyptian—something neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen since the day they came into this land.’” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh’s presence.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the
land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the
land of Egypt, and eat every
herb of the
land, even all that the
hail hath left.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the
land of Egypt, so that the locusts may
swarm over it and
devour every plant in the
land—everything that the
hail has left behind.”
And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and throughout that day and night the LORD sent an east wind across the land. By morning the east wind had brought the locusts.
And the locusts went up over all the
land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very
grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
The locusts
swarmed across the
land and settled over the entire territory of Egypt. Never before had there been so many locusts, and never again will there be.
For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the
land was
darkened; and they did eat every
herb of the
land, and all the fruit of the trees which the
hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the
land of Egypt.
They covered the face of all the
land until it was black, and they consumed all the plants on the ground and all the fruit on the trees that the
hail had left behind. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant in all the
land of Egypt.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that darkness may spread over the
land of Egypt—a
palpable darkness.”
And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and total darkness covered all the land of Egypt for three days.
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.
and every
firstborn son in the
land of Egypt will die, from the
firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, to the
firstborn of the servant
girl behind the hand mill, as well as the
firstborn of all the cattle.
And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
Then a great cry will go out over all the land of Egypt. Such an outcry has never been heard before and will never be heard again.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not
hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the
land of Egypt.
The LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh will not
listen to you, so that My wonders may be multiplied in the
land of Egypt.”
And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his
land.
Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he would not let the Israelites go out of his
land.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
Now the LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,
For I will pass through the
land of Egypt this night, and will
smite all the
firstborn in the
land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will
execute judgment: I am the LORD.
On that night I will pass through the
land of Egypt and strike down every
firstborn male, both man and beast, and I will
execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
And the blood shall be to you for a
token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I
smite the
land of Egypt.
The blood on the houses where you are staying will distinguish them; when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No plague will fall on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
And ye shall observe the feast of
unleavened bread; for in this
selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the
land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an
ordinance for ever.
So you are to keep the Feast of
Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your divisions out of the
land of Egypt. You must keep this day as a permanent statute for the generations to come.
Seven days shall there be no
leaven found in your houses: for
whosoever eateth that which is
leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the
land.
For seven days there must be no
leaven found in your houses. If
anyone eats something
leavened, that person, whether a foreigner or native of the
land, must be cut off from the congregation of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as He promised, you are to keep this service.
And the Egyptians were
urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the
land in
haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
And in order to send them out of the land quickly, the Egyptians urged the people on. “For otherwise,” they said, “we are all going to die!”
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the
selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the
land of Egypt.
At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions went out of the land of Egypt.
It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
Because the LORD kept a
vigil that night to bring them out of the
land of Egypt, this same night is to be a
vigil to the LORD, to be observed by all the Israelites for the generations to come.
And when a stranger shall
sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD, let all his males be
circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the
land: for no
uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
And it came to pass the
selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the
land of Egypt by their armies.
And on that very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the
land of the
Canaanites, and the
Hittites, and the
Amorites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he
sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a
land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
And when the LORD brings you into the
land of the
Canaanites,
Hittites,
Amorites,
Hivites, and Jebusites—the
land He
swore to your fathers that He would give you, a
land flowing with milk and honey—you shall keep this service in this month.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the
land of the
Canaanites, as he
sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
And after the LORD brings you into the
land of the
Canaanites and gives it to you, as He
swore to you and your fathers,
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD
slew all the
firstborn in the
land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the
firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the
matrix, being males; but all the
firstborn of my children I
redeem.
And when Pharaoh
stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every
firstborn in the
land of Egypt, both of man and beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the
firstborn male of every
womb, but I
redeem all the
firstborn of my sons.’
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the
land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest
peradventure the people
repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, though it was shorter. For God said, “If the people face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up
harnessed out of the
land of Egypt.
So God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the Israelites left the
land of Egypt
arrayed for battle.
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are
entangled in the
land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, ‘They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.’
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.
For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his
chariots and with his
horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry
land in the midst of the sea.
For when Pharaoh’s horses,
chariots, and
horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them. But the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.
And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and
Sinai, on the
fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the
land of Egypt.
On the
fifteenth day of the second month after they had left the
land of Egypt, the whole congregation of Israel set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and
Sinai.
And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
“If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in the
land of Egypt!” they said. “There we sat by pots of meat and
ate our fill of bread, but you have brought us into this desert to
starve this whole assembly to death!”
And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “This evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an
omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread
wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the
land of Egypt.
Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Keep an
omer of
manna for the generations to come, so that they may see the bread I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out of the
land of Egypt.’”
And the children of Israel did eat
manna forty years, until they came to a
land inhabited; they did eat
manna, until they came unto the borders of the
land of
Canaan.
The Israelites
ate manna forty years, until they came to a
land where they could settle; they
ate manna until they reached the border of
Canaan.
And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an
alien in a strange
land:
along with her two sons. One son was named Gershom, for Moses had said, “I have been a foreigner in a foreign land.”
And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.
Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and Jethro returned to his own land.
In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the
land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of
Sinai.
In the third month, on the same day of the month that the Israelites had left the
land of Egypt, they came to the Wilderness of
Sinai.
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the
land of Egypt, out of the house of
bondage.
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Thou shalt neither
vex a stranger, nor
oppress him: for ye were strangers in the
land of Egypt.
Also thou shalt not
oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the
land of Egypt.
Do not
oppress a foreign resident, since you
yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners; for you were foreigners in the
land of Egypt.
And six years thou shalt
sow thy
land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
For six years you are to
sow your
land and gather its produce,
The first of the firstfruits of thy
land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not
seethe a
kid in his mother’s milk.
Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. You must not
cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
No woman in your
land will miscarry or be barren; I will
fulfill the number of your days.
I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the
land become
desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
I will not drive them out before you in a single year; otherwise the
land would become
desolate and wild animals would multiply against you.
By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and
inherit the
land.
Little by little I will drive them out
ahead of you, until you become fruitful and possess the
land.
And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
And I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the Euphrates. For I will deliver the inhabitants into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.
They shall not dwell in thy
land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare unto thee.
They must not remain in your
land, lest they cause you to sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare to you.”
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the
land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
Now when the people saw that Moses was delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!”
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a
molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the
land of Egypt.
He took the gold from their hands, and with an engraving tool he fashioned it into a
molten calf. And they said, “These, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the
land of Egypt!”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.
They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a
molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed
thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the
land of Egypt.
How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten calf and have bowed down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said, ‘These, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the
land of Egypt.’”
And Moses
besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why
doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the
land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God, saying, “O LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this
land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall
inherit it for ever.
Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, to whom You
swore by Your very self when You declared, ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and I will give your descendants all this
land that I have promised, and it shall be their inheritance
forever.’”
For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the
land of Egypt, we
wot not what is become of him.
They told me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!’
And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the
land of Egypt, unto the
land which I
sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of the land of Egypt, and go to the land that I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’
Unto a
land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I
consume thee in the way.
Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people; otherwise, I might destroy you on the way.”
Take
heed to
thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the
land whither thou goest, lest it be for a
snare in the midst of thee:
Be careful not to make a treaty with the inhabitants of the
land you are entering, lest they become a
snare in your midst.
Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the
land, and they go a
whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
Do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the
land, for when they
prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will
invite you, and you will eat their sacrifices.
For I will cast out the nations before thee, and
enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy
land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God
thrice in the year.
For I will drive out the nations before you and
enlarge your borders, and no one will
covet your
land when you go up three times a year to appear before the LORD your God.
The first of the firstfruits of thy
land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not
seethe a
kid in his mother’s milk.
Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God. You must not
cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
For I am the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt so that I would be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
When ye be come into the
land of
Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of
leprosy in a house of the
land of your possession;
“When you enter the
land of
Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a
contamination of
mildew into a house in that
land,
And the goat shall bear upon him all their
iniquities unto a
land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
The goat will carry on itself all their
iniquities into a solitary place, and the man will release it into the wilderness.
After the doings of the
land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the
land of
Canaan,
whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
You must not follow the practices of the
land of Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not follow the practices of the
land of
Canaan, into which I am bringing you. You must not walk in their customs.
And the
land is
defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the
land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Even the
land has become
defiled, so I am
punishing it for its sin, and the
land will
vomit out its inhabitants.
(For all these abominations have the men of the
land done, which were before you, and the
land is
defiled;)
For the men who were in the
land before you committed all these abominations, and the
land has become
defiled.
That the
land spue not you out also, when ye
defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
So if you
defile the
land, it will
vomit you out as it
spewed out the nations before you.
And when ye
reap the harvest of your
land, thou shalt not wholly
reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
When you
reap the harvest of your
land, you are not to
reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
And when ye shall come into the
land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as
uncircumcised: three years shall it be as
uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
When you enter the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you shall regard the fruit as forbidden. For three years it will be forbidden to you and must not be eaten.
Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a
whore; lest the
land fall to
whoredom, and the
land become full of wickedness.
And if a stranger
sojourn with thee in your
land, ye shall not
vex him.
When a foreigner resides with you in your
land, you must not
oppress him.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as
thyself; for ye were strangers in the
land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
You must treat the foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as
yourself, for you were foreigners in the
land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Just balances, just weights, a just
ephah, and a just
hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the
land of Egypt.
You shall maintain
honest scales and weights, an
honest ephah, and an
honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the
land of Egypt.
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel,
Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto
Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the
land shall stone him with stones.
“Tell the Israelites, ‘Any
Israelite or foreigner living in Israel who gives any of his children to
Molech must be put to death. The people of the
land are to stone him.
And if the people of the
land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and kill him not:
And if the people of the
land ever hide their eyes and fail to put to death the man who gives one of his children to
Molech,
Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the
land,
whither I bring you to dwell therein,
spue you not out.
You are therefore to keep all My statutes and ordinances, so that the
land where I am bringing you to live will not
vomit you out.
But I have said unto you, Ye shall
inherit their
land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a
land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
But I have told you that you will
inherit their
land, since I will give it to you as an inheritance—a
land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the peoples.
Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is
bruised, or
crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your
land.
You are not to present to the LORD an animal whose testicles are
bruised,
crushed,
torn, or cut; you are not to sacrifice them in your
land.
That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.
who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the
land which I give unto you, and shall
reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘When you enter the
land that I am giving you and you
reap its harvest, you are to bring to the priest a
sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest.
And when ye
reap the harvest of your
land, thou shalt not make clean
riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any
gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
When you
reap the harvest of your
land, do not
reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident. I am the LORD your God.’”
Also in the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the
land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
On the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the produce of the
