King James Bible KJV Bible
Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the
land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither
sow thy field, nor
prune thy
vineyard.
But in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for the
land—a Sabbath to the LORD. You are not to
sow your field or
prune your
vineyard.
That which groweth of its own
accord of thy harvest thou shalt not
reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the
land.
You are not to
reap the
aftergrowth of your harvest or gather the grapes of your untended vines. The
land must have a year of complete rest.
And the sabbath of the
land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy
maid, and for thy
hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
and for your
livestock and the wild animals in your
land. All its growth may serve as food.
Then shalt thou cause the
trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of
atonement shall ye make the
trumpet sound throughout all your
land.
Then you are to sound the horn far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of
Atonement. You shall sound it throughout your
land.
And ye shall
hallow the
fiftieth year, and
proclaim liberty throughout all the
land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
So you are to
consecrate the
fiftieth year and
proclaim liberty in the
land for all its inhabitants. It shall be your
Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his property and to his clan.
A jubile shall that
fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not
sow, neither
reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.
You are to keep My statutes and carefully observe My judgments, so that you may dwell securely in the land.
And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
Then the land will yield its fruit, so that you can eat your fill and dwell in safety in the land.
Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
But I will send My blessing upon you in the sixth year, so that the land will yield a crop sufficient for three years.
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
The land must not be sold permanently, because it is Mine, and you are but foreigners and residents with Me.
And in all the
land of your possession ye shall grant a
redemption for the
land.
Thus for every piece of property you possess, you must provide for the
redemption of the
land.
And if the man have none to
redeem it, and himself be able to
redeem it;
Or if a man has no one to
redeem it for him, but he prospers and acquires enough to
redeem his
land,
I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the
land of Egypt, to give you the
land of
Canaan, and to be your God.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the
land of Egypt to give you the
land of
Canaan and to be your God.
For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the
land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as
bondmen.
Because the Israelites are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt, they are not to be sold as slaves.
Moreover of the children of the strangers that do
sojourn among you, of them shall ye
buy, and of their families that are with you, which they
begat in your
land: and they shall be your possession.
You may also purchase them from the foreigners residing among you or their clans living among you who are born in your land. These may become your property.
For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
For the Israelites are My servants. They are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Ye shall make you no idols nor
graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your
land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
“You must not make idols for
yourselves or set up a carved image or sacred
pillar; you must not place a sculpted stone in your
land to bow down to it. For I am the LORD your God.
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
I will give you rains in their season, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
And your
threshing shall reach unto the
vintage, and the
vintage shall reach unto the
sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your
land safely.
Your
threshing will continue until the
grape harvest, and the
grape harvest will continue until
sowing time; you will have your fill of food to eat and will dwell securely in your
land.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the
land of Egypt, that ye should not be their
bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk in uprightness.
And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
I will break down your
stubborn pride and make your sky like iron and your
land like bronze,
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
And I will bring the
land into
desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be
astonished at it.
And I will lay waste the
land, so that your enemies who dwell in it will be
appalled.
And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your
land shall be
desolate, and your cities waste.
But I will
scatter you among the nations and will draw out a sword after you as your
land becomes
desolate and your cities are laid waste.
Then shall the
land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth
desolate, and ye be in your enemies’
land; even then shall the
land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
Then the
land shall enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies
desolate, while you are in the
land of your enemies. At that time the
land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
As long as it lieth
desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
As long as it lies
desolate, the
land will have the rest it did not receive during the Sabbaths when you lived in it.
And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the
lands of their enemies; and the sound of a
shaken leaf shall
chase them; and they shall
flee, as
fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
As for those of you who
survive, I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the
lands of their enemies, so that even the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. And they will
flee as one flees the sword, and fall when no one pursues them.
And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
You will perish among the nations, and the
land of your enemies will
consume you.
And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’
lands; and also in the
iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
Those of you who
survive in the
lands of your enemies will waste away in their iniquity and will decay in the sins of their fathers.
And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the
land of their enemies; if then their
uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the
land of their enemies—and if their
uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will make
amends for their iniquity,
Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.
The
land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the
land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
And yet for all that, when they be in the
land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I
abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the LORD their God.
Yet in spite of this, when they are in the
land of their enemies, I will not
reject or
despise them so as to destroy them and break My covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.
But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.
But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their fathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.”
And if a man shall
sanctify unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then thy
estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.
If a man consecrates to the LORD a
parcel of his
land, then your
valuation shall be proportional to the seed required for it—fifty shekels of silver for every homer of barley seed.
In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong.
In the Year of
Jubilee the field shall return to the one from whom it was bought—the original owner of the
land.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall
devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
Nothing that a man sets apart to the LORD from all he owns—whether a man, an animal, or his inherited land—can be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.
And all the
tithe of the
land, whether of the seed of the
land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Thus any
tithe from the
land, whether from the seed of the
land or the fruit of the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of
Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the
land of Egypt, saying,
On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come out of the
land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of
Sinai. He said:
Because all the
firstborn are mine; for on the day that I
smote all the
firstborn in the
land of Egypt I
hallowed unto me all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.
for all the
firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every
firstborn in the
land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
For all the
firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I
smote every
firstborn in the
land of Egypt I
sanctified them for myself.
For every
firstborn male in Israel is Mine, both man and beast. I set them apart for Myself on the day I struck down all the
firstborn in the
land of Egypt.
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of
Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the
land of Egypt, saying,
In the first month of the second year after Israel had come out of the
land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of
Sinai:
And if a stranger shall
sojourn among you, and will keep the
passover unto the LORD; according to the
ordinance of the
passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one
ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the
land.
If a foreigner dwelling among you wants to observe the
Passover to the LORD, he is to do so according to the
Passover statute and its ordinances. You are to apply the same statute to both the foreigner and the native of the
land.’”
And if ye go to war in your
land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an
alarm with the
trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
When you enter into battle in your
land against an
adversary who attacks you, sound short blasts on the
trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God and saved from your enemies.
And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
“I will not go,” Hobab replied. “Instead, I am going back to my own land and my own people.”
Have I conceived all this people? have I
begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy
bosom, as a
nursing father beareth the
sucking child, unto the
land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth, so that You should tell me, ‘Carry them in your
bosom, as a
nurse carries an infant,’ to the
land that You
swore to give their fathers?
Send thou men, that they may search the
land of
Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
“Send out for
yourself men to
spy out the
land of
Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each of their fathers’ tribes send one man who is a leader among them.”
These are the names of the men which Moses sent to
spy out the
land. And Moses called Oshea the son of
Nun Jehoshua.
These were the names of the men Moses sent to
spy out the
land; and Moses gave to Hoshea son of
Nun the name Joshua.
And Moses sent them to
spy out the
land of
Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:
When Moses sent them to
spy out the
land of
Canaan, he told them, “Go up through the Negev and into the hill country.
And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;
See what the land is like and whether its people are strong or weak, few or many.
And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
Is the land where they live good or bad? Are the cities where they dwell open camps or fortifications?
And what the
land is, whether it be fat or
lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the
land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.
Is the soil fertile or unproductive? Are there trees in it or not? Be
courageous, and bring back some of the fruit of the
land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)
So they went up, and searched the
land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to
Hamath.
So they went up and
spied out the
land from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo-
hamath.
And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
After forty days the men returned from
spying out the
land,
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of
Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the
land.
and they went back to Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation of Israel in the Wilderness of
Paran at Kadesh. They brought back a report for the whole congregation and showed them the fruit of the
land.
And they told him, and said, We came unto the
land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
And they gave this account to Moses: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and indeed, it is flowing with milk and honey. Here is some of its fruit!
Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the
land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of
Anak there.
Nevertheless, the people living in the
land are strong, and the cities are large and fortified. We even saw the descendants of
Anak there.
The
Amalekites dwell in the
land of the south: and the
Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the
Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the
Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
And
Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Then
Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “We must go up and take possession of the
land, for we can certainly
conquer it!”
And they brought up an evil report of the
land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The
land, through which we have gone to search it, is a
land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great
stature.
So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the
land that they had
spied out: “The
land we
explored devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw there are great in
stature.
And all the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the
land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!
And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
Why is the LORD bringing us into this
land to fall by the sword? Our wives and children will become
plunder. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?”
And Joshua the son of
Nun, and
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the
land, rent their clothes:
Joshua son of
Nun and
Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had
spied out the
land,
tore their clothes
And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
and said to the whole congregation of Israel, “The
land we passed through and
explored is an exceedingly good
land.
If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
If the LORD delights in us, He will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and He will give it to us.
Only
rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the
land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
Only do not
rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the
land, for they will be like bread for us. Their protection has been removed, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them!”
And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this
land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by
daytime in a
pillar of a cloud, and in a
pillar of fire by night.
And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this
land. They have already heard that You, O LORD, are in the midst of this people, that You, O LORD, have been seen face to face, that Your cloud stands over them, and that You go before them in a
pillar of cloud by day and a
pillar of fire by night.
Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the
land which he
sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
‘Because the LORD was unable to bring this people into the
land He
swore to give them, He has slaughtered them in the wilderness.’
Surely they shall not see the
land which I
sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that
provoked me see it:
not one will ever see the
land that I
swore to give their fathers. None of those who have treated Me with contempt will see it.
But my servant
Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the
land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
But because My servant
Caleb has a different spirit and has followed Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the
land he has entered, and his descendants will
inherit it.
Doubtless ye shall not come into the
land, concerning which I
sware to make you dwell therein, save
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of
Nun.
Surely none of you will enter the
land in which I
swore to settle you, except
Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of
Nun.
But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the
land which ye have
despised.
But I will bring your children, whom you said would become
plunder, into the
land you have rejected—and they will enjoy it.
After the number of the days in which ye searched the
land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your
iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
In keeping with the forty days you
spied out the
land, you shall bear your guilt forty years—a year for each day—and you will experience My
alienation.
And the men, which Moses sent to search the
land, who returned, and made all the congregation to
murmur against him, by bringing up a
slander upon the
land,
So the men Moses had sent to
spy out the
land, who had returned and made the whole congregation
grumble against him by bringing out a bad report about the
land—
Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
those men who had brought out the bad report about the land—were struck down by a plague before the LORD.
But Joshua the son of
Nun, and
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the
land, lived still.
Of those men who had gone to
spy out the
land, only Joshua son of
Nun and
Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: After you enter the land that I am giving you as a home
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the
land whither I bring you,
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land to which I am bringing you
Then it shall be, that, when ye eat of the bread of the
land, ye shall offer up an
heave offering unto the LORD.
and you eat the food of the land, you shall lift up an offering to the LORD.
But the soul that doeth ought
presumptuously, whether he be born in the
land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
But the person who sins defiantly, whether a native or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD. That person shall be cut off from among his people.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.
I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.”
Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a
land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make
thyself altogether a prince over us?
Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a
land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? Must you also
appoint yourself as ruler over us?
Moreover thou hast not brought us into a
land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards:
wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
Moreover, you have not brought us into a
land flowing with milk and honey or given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you
gouge out the eyes of these men? No, we will not come!”
And
whatsoever is first ripe in the
land, which they shall bring unto the LORD, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.
The firstfruits of everything in their
land that they bring to the LORD will belong to you. Every
ceremonially clean person in your household may eat them.
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the
land which I have given them.
But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My
holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the
land that I have given them.”
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your
land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
And
Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.
But
Edom answered, “You may not travel through our
land, or we will come out and
confront you with the sword.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount
Hor, by the coast of the
land of
Edom, saying,
And at Mount
Hor, near the border of the
land of
Edom, the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.
“Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land that I have given the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.
And they journeyed from mount
Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the
land of
Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Then they set out from Mount
Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the
land of
Edom. But the people grew impatient on the journey
Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.
“Let us pass through your
land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
And Israel
smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his
land from
Arnon unto
Jabbok, even unto the children of
Ammon: for the border of the children of
Ammon was strong.
And Israel put him to the sword and took possession of his
land, from the
Arnon to the
Jabbok—but only up to the border of the
Ammonites, because it was fortified.
For
Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the
Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his
land out of his hand, even unto
Arnon.
Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the
Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his
land as far as the
Arnon.
Thus Israel dwelt in the
land of the
Amorites.
So Israel lived in the
land of the
Amorites.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his
land; and thou shalt do to him as thou
didst unto Sihon king of the
Amorites, which dwelt at
Heshbon.
But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his
land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the
Amorites, who lived in
Heshbon.”
So they
smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his
land.
So they struck down
Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no
remnant was left. And they took possession of his
land.
He sent messengers therefore unto
Balaam the son of Beor to
Pethor, which is by the river of the
land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they
abide over against me:
he sent messengers to
Balaam son of Beor at
Pethor, which is by the Euphrates in the
land of his people. “Behold, a people has come out of Egypt,” said Balak. “They cover the face of the
land and have settled next to me.
