And the earth brought forth grass, and
herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a
fugitive and a
vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
When you till the ground, it will no longer yield its
produce to you. You will be a
fugitive and a
wanderer on the earth.”
And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he
spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
But Onan knew that the offspring would not belong to him; so whenever he would sleep with his brother’s wife, he would
spill his seed on the ground so that he would not
produce offspring for his brother.
And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.
So Joseph established a law that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh, and it is in effect in the land of Egypt to this day. Only the priests’ land does not belong to Pharaoh.
And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth
lice, but they could not: so there were
lice upon man, and upon beast.
The magicians tried to produce gnats using their magic arts, but they could not. And the gnats remained on man and beast.
And six years thou shalt
sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
For six years you are to
sow your land and gather its
produce,
And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
You are also to keep the Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the
produce from what you
sow in the field. And keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather your
produce from the field.
Also in the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
On the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the
produce of the land, you are to
celebrate a feast to the LORD for seven days. There shall be complete rest on the first day and also on the eighth day.
And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not
sow, nor gather in our increase:
Now you may wonder, ‘What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not
sow or gather our
produce?’
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
I will give you rains in their season, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD from the
herd or flock to
produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, for a special
vow or
freewill offering or appointed feast—
And it came to pass, that on the
morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and
bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had
sprouted, put forth buds,
blossomed, and
produced almonds.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have
heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Therefore say to the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the
produce of the
threshing floor or winepress.
And he will love thee, and
bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also
bless the fruit of thy
womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy
kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he
sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
He will love you and
bless you and multiply you. He will
bless the fruit of your
womb and the
produce of your land—your grain, new wine, and oil, the young of your herds and the lambs of your flocks—in the land that He
swore to your fathers to give you.
And then the LORD’S wrath be
kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
or the anger of the LORD will be
kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its
produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.
Thou shalt truly
tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
You must be sure to set aside a tenth of all the produce brought forth each year from your fields.
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the
tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and lay it up within your gates.
You must set apart to the LORD your God every
firstborn male
produced by your herds and flocks. You are not to put the
firstborn of your oxen to work, nor are you to
shear the
firstborn of your flock.
Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
You are to
celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the
produce of your
threshing floor and your winepress.
Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely
rejoice.
For seven days you shall
celebrate a feast to the LORD your God in the place He will choose, because the LORD your God will
bless you in all your
produce and in all the work of your hands, so that your joy will be complete.
Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.
But you may destroy the trees that you know do not
produce fruit. Use them to build siege works against the city that is
waging war against you, until it falls.
That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a
basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.
you are to take some of the firstfruits of all your
produce from the soil of the land that the LORD your God is giving you and put them in a
basket. Then go to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name,
When thou hast made an end of
tithing all the
tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of
tithing, and hast given it unto the
Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
When you have finished laying aside a tenth of all your
produce in the third year, the year of the
tithe, you are to give it to the
Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat and be filled within your gates.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy
kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
The fruit of your
womb will be blessed, as well as the
produce of your land and the offspring of your
livestock— the
calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
And the LORD shall make thee
plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD
sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The LORD will make you
prosper abundantly—in the fruit of your
womb, the offspring of your
livestock, and the
produce of your land—in the land that the LORD
swore to your fathers to give you.
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy
kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
The fruit of your
womb will be
cursed, as well as the
produce of your land, the
calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.
The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only
oppressed and
crushed alway:
A people you do not know will eat the
produce of your land and of all your
toil. All your days you will be
oppressed and
crushed.
Swarms of locusts will
consume all your trees and the
produce of your land.
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy
kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
They will eat the offspring of your
livestock and the
produce of your land until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain or new wine or oil, no
calves of your herds or lambs of your flocks, until they have caused you to perish.
And the LORD thy God will make thee
plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again
rejoice over thee for good, as he
rejoiced over thy fathers:
So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your
womb, the offspring of your
livestock, and the
produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your goodness, as He delighted in that of your fathers,
He made him
ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to
suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the
flinty rock;
He made him
ride on the heights of the land and fed him the
produce of the field. He
nourished him with honey from the rock and oil from the
flinty crag,
For a fire is
kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest
hell, and shall
consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.
For a fire has been
kindled by My anger, and it burns to the depths of
Sheol; it consumes the earth and its
produce, and scorches the foundations of the mountains.
And the
manna ceased on the
morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel
manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of
Canaan that year.
And the day after they had eaten from the
produce of the land, the
manna ceased. There was no more
manna for the Israelites, so that year they began to eat the crops of the land of
Canaan.
And they
encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto
Gaza, and left no
sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor
ass.
encamping against them as far as
Gaza and destroying the
produce of the land. They left Israel with no
sustenance, neither sheep nor oxen nor
donkeys.
And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
Shimei the Ramathite was in charge of the vineyards. Zabdi the Shiphmite was in charge of the produce of the vineyards for the wine vats.
And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the
tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
As soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously provided the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, oil, and honey, and of all the
produce of the field, and they brought in an abundance—a
tithe of everything.
Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired
Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.
Then
Hezekiah worked
resolutely to rebuild all the broken sections of the wall and to raise up towers on it. He also built an outer wall and
reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David, and he
produced an abundance of weapons and shields.
And that we should bring the firstfruits of our
dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all manner of trees, of wine and of oil, unto the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the
tithes of our ground unto the Levites, that the same Levites might have the
tithes in all the cities of our
tillage.
Moreover, we will bring to the priests at the storerooms of the house of our God the firstfruits of our
dough, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees, and of our new wine and oil. A tenth of our
produce belongs to the Levites, so that they shall receive
tithes in all the towns where we labor.
Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine
indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.
You
produce new witnesses against me and multiply Your anger toward me. Hardships
assault me in wave after wave.
If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:
if I have
devoured its
produce without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
The hills yield him their produce, while all the beasts of the field play nearby.
And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and
devoured the fruit of their ground.
They
devoured every plant in their land and consumed the
produce of their soil.
Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.
Establish Your word to Your servant, to produce reverence for You.
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
Our storehouses will be full, supplying all manner of produce; our flocks will bring forth thousands, tens of thousands in our fields.
Moreover the profit of the earth is for all: the king himself is served by the field.
The produce of the earth is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields.
If the iron be
blunt, and he do not
whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.
If the
axe is dull and the
blade unsharpened, more strength must be exerted, but skill
produces success.
And he
fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
He
dug it up and cleared the stones and planted the finest vines. He built a
watchtower in the middle and
dug out a winepress as well. He waited for the
vineyard to yield good grapes, but the fruit it
produced was
sour!
Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
“Present your case,” says the LORD. “Submit your arguments,” says the King of Jacob.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my
fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be
quenched.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, My anger and My
fury will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and the
produce of the land, and it will burn and not be
extinguished.
How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the
scribes is in vain.
How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the Law of the LORD is with us,’ when in fact the lying pen of the
scribes has
produced a
deception?
Thou hast planted them,
yea, they have taken root: they grow,
yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their
reins.
You planted them, and they have taken root. They have grown and produced fruit. You are ever on their lips, but far from their hearts.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of
drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
He is like a tree planted by the waters that sends out its roots toward the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes, and its leaves are always green. It does not
worry in a year of
drought, nor does it cease to
produce fruit.
Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;
“Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat their produce.
For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
For he has sent to us in Babylon, claiming: Since the exile will be
lengthy, build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat their
produce.’”
They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away,
stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, who waste away, pierced with pain because the fields lack produce.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
The trees of the field will give their fruit, and the land will yield its
produce; My flock will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bars of their yoke and delivered them from the hands that
enslaved them.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home.
And the residue in length over against the
oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against the
oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that serve the city.
The remainder of the length bordering the holy portion and running adjacent to it will be 10,000 cubits on the east side and 10,000 cubits on the west side. Its produce will supply food for the workers of the city.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind: it hath no
stalk: the
bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall
swallow it up.
For they
sow the wind, and they shall
reap the
whirlwind. There is no standing grain; what
sprouts fails to yield flour. Even if it should
produce, the foreigners would
swallow it up.
Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Israel was a
luxuriant vine, yielding fruit for himself. The more his fruit increased, the more he increased the altars. The better his land
produced, the better he made the sacred pillars.
Although the fig tree shall not
blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no
herd in the stalls:
Though the fig tree does not
bud and no fruit is on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields
produce no food, though the sheep are cut off from the fold and no cattle are in the stalls,
For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their
dew; and I will cause the
remnant of this people to possess all these things.
“For the seed will be prosperous, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will yield its
produce, and the
skies will give their
dew. To the
remnant of this people I will give all these things as an inheritance.
And I will
rebuke the
devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
I will
rebuke the
devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your land, and the vine in your field will not fail to
produce fruit,” says the LORD of Hosts.
And now also the
axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.
The
axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not
produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an
hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Still other seed fell on good soil and
produced a crop—a
hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an
hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and
produces a crop—a
hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.”
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that
sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it
sprouted, grew up, and
produced a crop—one bearing thirtyfold, another sixtyfold, and another a
hundredfold.”
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
Still others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, receive it, and
produce a crop—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, or a
hundredfold.”
For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the
blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
All by itself the earth
produces a crop—first the
stalk, then the head, then grain that ripens within.
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of
repentance, and begin not to say within
yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
Produce fruit, then, in keeping with
repentance. And do not begin to say to
yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
And now also the
axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.
The
axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not
produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
And other fell on good ground, and
sprang up, and bare fruit an
hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he
cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it
sprang up and
produced a crop—a
hundredfold.” As Jesus said this, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
But that on the good ground are they, which in an
honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with
patience.
But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word,
cling to it, and by
persevering produce a crop.
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth
plentifully:
Then He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced an abundance.
Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
The first servant came forward and said, ‘Master, your
mina has
produced ten more
minas.’
Not only that, but we also
rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering
produces perseverance;
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of
concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment,
produced in me every kind of
covetous desire. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God
forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
For behold this
selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you,
yea, what clearing of
yourselves,
yea, what
indignation,
yea, what fear,
yea, what
vehement desire,
yea, what zeal,
yea, what
revenge! In all things ye have approved
yourselves to be clear in this matter.
Consider what this godly sorrow has
produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear
yourselves, what
indignation, what
alarm, what longing, what zeal, what
vindication! In every way you have proved
yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion, so that through us your giving will
produce thanksgiving to God.
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh
oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God.
But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is
nigh unto
cursing; whose end is to be burned.
But land that
produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its
curse is
imminent. In the end it will be burned.
Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive
berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
My brothers, can a fig tree grow olives, or a
grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring
produce fresh water.
