walking backward, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness.

shepherd all my life to this day,

maid to
fetch it.

brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.

walking out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a
snake.

For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his
chariots and with his
horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
For when Pharaoh’s horses,
chariots, and
horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them. But the Israelites
walked through the sea on dry ground.

And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt
shew them the way wherein they must
walk, and the work that they must do.
Teach them the statutes and laws, and show them the way to live and the work they must do.
If he rise again, and
walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that
smote him be
quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly
healed.
then the one who struck him shall go unpunished, as long as the other can get up and
walk around outside with his staff. Nevertheless, he must
compensate the man for his lost work and see that he is completely
healed.
All flying insects that
walk on all fours are
detestable to you.
Yet these may ye eat of every flying
creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to
leap withal upon the earth;
However, you may eat the following kinds of flying insects that
walk on all fours: those having jointed legs above their feet for
hopping on the ground.
And
whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you:
whoso toucheth their
carcase shall be unclean until the even.
All the four-footed animals that
walk on their paws are unclean for you;
whoever touches their
carcasses will be unclean until evening,
Do not eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it crawls on its
belly or
walks on four or more feet; for such creatures are
detestable.
After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of
Canaan,
whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye
walk in their ordinances.
You must not follow the practices of the land of Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not follow the practices of the land of
Canaan, into which I am bringing you. You must not
walk in their customs.
Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
You are to practice My judgments and keep My statutes by walking in them. I am the LORD your God.
And ye shall not
walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I
abhorred them.
You must not follow the statutes of the nations I am driving out before you. Because they did all these things, I
abhorred them.
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
If you follow My statutes and carefully keep My commandments,
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their
bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk in uprightness.
And if ye
walk contrary unto me, and will not
hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.
If you walk in hostility toward Me and refuse to obey Me, I will multiply your plagues seven times, according to your sins.
And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
And if in spite of these things you do not accept My discipline, but continue to walk in hostility toward Me,
Then will I also
walk contrary unto you, and will
punish you yet seven times for your sins.
then I will act with hostility toward you, and I will strike you
sevenfold for your sins.
And if ye will not for all this
hearken unto me, but
walk contrary unto me;
But if in spite of all this you do not obey Me, but continue to walk in hostility toward Me,
Then I will
walk contrary unto you also in
fury; and I, even I, will
chastise you seven times for your sins.
If they shall
confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their
trespass which they
trespassed against me, and that also they have
walked contrary unto me;
But if they will
confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, by which they have also
walked in hostility toward Me—
And that I also have
walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their
uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their
uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will make
amends for their iniquity,
And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and
baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
The people
walked around and gathered it, ground it on a
handmill or
crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a
cooking pot or shaped it into cakes. It tasted like
pastry baked with fine oil.
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.
Ye shall
walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may
prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
You must
walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and
prosper and
prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
And thou shalt teach them
diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou
walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And you shall teach them
diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you
walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and fearing Him.
And it shall be, if thou do at all
forget the LORD thy God, and
walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I
testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
If you ever
forget the LORD your God and go after other gods to worship and bow down to them, I
testify against you
today that you will surely perish.
And now, Israel, what
doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to
walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God by walking in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
For if ye shall
diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to
walk in all his ways, and to
cleave unto him;
For if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—
Ye shall
walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and
cleave unto him.
You are to follow the LORD your God and fear Him. Keep His commandments and
listen to His voice; serve Him and hold fast to Him.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to
walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Such a prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he has advocated rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God has commanded you to
walk. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
and if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you
today, loving the LORD your God and
walking in His ways at all times, then you are to add three more cities to these three.
For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
For the LORD your God walks throughout your camp to protect you and deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, lest He see anything unclean among you and turn away from you.
Thou hast
avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to
walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to
hearken unto his voice:
Today you have proclaimed that the LORD is your God and that you will
walk in His ways, keep His statutes and commandments and ordinances, and
listen to His voice.
The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath
sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and
walk in his ways.
The LORD will establish you as His holy people, just as He has
sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and
walk in His ways.
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this
curse, that he
bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I
walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add
drunkenness to
thirst:
because when such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a blessing on himself, saying, ‘I will have peace, even though I
walk in the
stubbornness of my own heart.’ This will bring
disaster on the watered land as well as the dry.
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to
walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in the land
whither thou goest to possess it.
For I am commanding you
today to love the LORD your God, to
walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may
bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
For the children of Israel
walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD
sware that he would not
shew them the land, which the LORD
sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
For the Israelites had
wandered in the wilderness forty years, until all the nation’s men of war who had come out of Egypt had died, since they did not obey the LORD. So the LORD
vowed never to let them see the land He had
sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and
walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in
Shiloh.
As the men got up to go out, Joshua commanded them to map out the land, saying, “Go and survey the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will cast lots for you here in
Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.”
But take
diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to
walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to
cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
But be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
And yet they would not
hearken unto their judges, but they went a
whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers
walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.
Israel, however, did not
listen to their judges. Instead, they
prostituted themselves with other gods and bowed down to them. They quickly turned from the way of their fathers, who had
walked in obedience to the LORD’s commandments; they did not do as their fathers had done.
That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
In this way I will test whether Israel will keep the way of the LORD by walking in it as their fathers did.”
In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the
highways were unoccupied, and the travelers
walked through byways.
In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the
highways were deserted and the travelers took the byways.
Speak, ye that
ride on white
asses, ye that sit in judgment, and
walk by the way.
But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;
But when Israel came up out of Egypt, they traveled through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh.
Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should
walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that
despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Therefore, the LORD, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father would
walk before Me
forever. But now the LORD declares: Far be it from Me! For I will honor those who honor Me, but those who
despise Me will be
disdained.
And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall
walk before mine
anointed for ever.
Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest. He will do whatever is in My heart and mind. And I will build for him an
enduring house, and he will
walk before My
anointed one for all time.
And his sons
walked not in his ways, but turned aside after
lucre, and took bribes, and
perverted judgment.
But his sons did not
walk in his ways; they turned aside toward
dishonest gain, accepting bribes and
perverting justice.
And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
“Look,” they said, “you are old, and your sons do not
walk in your ways. Now
appoint a king to judge us like all the other nations.”
And now, behold, the king
walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have
walked before you from my
childhood unto this day.
Now here is the king walking before you, and I am old and gray, and my sons are here with you. I have walked before you from my youth until this day.
And David
girded his sword upon his armour, and he
assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.
David
strapped his sword over the
tunic and tried to
walk, but he was not accustomed to them. “I cannot
walk in these,” David said to Saul. “I am not accustomed to them.” So David took them off.
And he went thither to Naioth in
Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and
prophesied, until he came to Naioth in
Ramah.
So Saul went to Naioth in
Ramah. But the Spirit of God came upon even Saul, and he
walked along
prophesying until he came to Naioth in
Ramah.
And
Abner and his men
walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to
Mahanaim.
And all that night
Abner and his men marched through the Arabah. They crossed the Jordan, marched all morning, and arrived at
Mahanaim.
And David said to
Joab, and to all the people that were with him,
Rend your clothes, and
gird you with
sackcloth, and
mourn before
Abner. And king David himself followed the
bier.
Then David ordered
Joab and all the people with him, “
Tear your clothes, put on
sackcloth, and
mourn before
Abner.” And King David himself
walked behind the funeral
bier.
And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
bringing with it the ark of God. And Ahio was walking in front of the ark.
Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt until this day, but I have moved about with a tent as My dwelling.
In all the places wherein I have
walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of
cedar?
In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders I appointed to
shepherd My people Israel, ‘Why
haven’t you built Me a house of
cedar?’
And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
One evening David got up from his bed and
strolled around on the roof of the palace. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing—a very beautiful woman.
And David went up by the
ascent of mount Olivet, and
wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went
barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up,
weeping as they went up.
But David continued up the Mount of Olives,
weeping as he went up. His head was covered, and he was
walking barefoot. And all the people with him covered their heads and went up,
weeping as they went.
And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and
wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son
Absalom, my son, my son
Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O
Absalom, my son, my son!
The king was
shaken and went up to the gate chamber and
wept. And as he
walked, he
cried out, “O my son
Absalom! My son, my son
Absalom! If only I had died instead of you, O
Absalom, my son, my son!”
And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to
walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his
testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest
prosper in all that thou doest, and
whithersoever thou turnest
thyself:
And keep the charge of the LORD your God to
walk in His ways and to keep His statutes, commandments, ordinances, and decrees, as is written in the Law of Moses, so that you may
prosper in all you do and wherever you turn,
That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take
heed to their way, to
walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.
and so that the LORD may
fulfill His promise to me: ‘If your descendants take
heed to
walk faithfully before Me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’
And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to
swear by the LORD, and
protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and
walkest abroad any
whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
the king summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you
swear by the LORD and
warn you, ‘On the day you leave and go elsewhere, know for sure that you will die’? And you told me, ‘The sentence is fair; I will
comply.’
And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
And Solomon loved the LORD and walked in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
Solomon replied, “You have shown much loving devotion to Your servant, my father David, because he walked before You in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. And You have maintained this loving devotion by giving him a son to sit on his throne this very day.
And if thou
wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did
walk, then I will
lengthen thy days.
So if you
walk in My ways and keep My statutes and commandments, just as your father David did, I will
prolong your days.”
Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou
wilt walk in my statutes, and
execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to
walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
“As for this temple you are building, if you
walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep all My commandments by
walking in them, I will
fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.
And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
and said: “O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth below, keeping Your covenant of loving devotion with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take
heed to their way, that they
walk before me as thou hast
walked before me.
Therefore now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant, my father David, what You promised when You said: ‘You will never fail to have a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants guard their way to walk before Me as you have done.’
Then hear thou in heaven, and
forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should
walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
then may You hear from heaven and
forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, so that You may teach them the good way in which they should
walk. May You send rain on the land that You gave Your people as an inheritance.
That he may
incline our hearts unto him, to
walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
May He
incline our hearts to Himself, to
walk in all His ways and to keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances He commanded our fathers.
Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
So let your heart be fully devoted to the LORD our God, as it is this day, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments.”
And if thou
wilt walk before me, as David thy father
walked, in
integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and
wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:
And as for you, if you
walk before Me as your father David
walked, with a heart of
integrity and uprightness, doing all I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and ordinances,
Because that they have
forsaken me, and have worshipped
Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians,
Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of
Ammon, and have not
walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.
For they have
forsaken Me to worship
Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians,
Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the
Ammonites. They have not
walked in My ways, nor done what is right in My eyes, nor kept My statutes and judgments, as Solomon’s father David did.
