err from thy
ways, and

He that killeth an ox is as if he
slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an
oblation, as if he offered
swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an
idol.

ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;

frankincense is like one who blesses an
idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own

polluted, I have not gone after
Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift
dromedary traversing her
ways;
“How can you say, ‘I am not
defiled; I have not run after the Baals’? Look at your
behavior in the valley; acknowledge what you have done. You are a swift young she-
camel galloping here and there,
Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
How
skillfully you pursue love! Even the most immoral of women could learn from your
ways.

ashamed of Egypt, as thou
wast ashamed of Assyria.

Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been
lien with. In the
ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast
polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.

violated? You sat beside the
highways waiting for your lovers, like a
nomad in the desert. You have
defiled the land with your
prostitution and wickedness.
Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast
transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy
ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

A voice was heard upon the high places,
weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have

perverted their
ways and forgotten the LORD their God.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel,
Amend your
ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel: Correct your ways and deeds, and I will let you live in this place.
For if ye throughly
amend your
ways and your doings; if ye throughly
execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
For if you really correct your ways and deeds, if you act justly toward one another,
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
but this is what I commanded them: Obey Me, and I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must walk in all the ways I have commanded you, so that it may go well with you.
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the
ways of the nations or be
terrified by the signs in the heavens, though the nations themselves are
terrified by them.
And it shall come to pass, if they will
diligently learn the
ways of my people, to
swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to
swear by
Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
And if they will
diligently learn the
ways of My people and
swear by My name, saying, ‘As surely as the LORD lives’—just as they once taught My people to
swear by
Baal—then they will be established among My people.
And I will
fan them with a
fan in the gates of the land; I will
bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their
ways.
I will
scatter them with a
winnowing fork at the gates of the land. I will
bereave and destroy My people who have not turned from their
ways.
For mine eyes are upon all their
ways: they are not
hid from my face, neither is their iniquity
hid from mine eyes.
For My eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from My face, and their guilt is not concealed from My eyes.
I the LORD search the heart, I try the
reins, even to give every man according to his
ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
I, the LORD, search the heart; I examine the mind to reward a man according to his way, by what his deeds deserve.
Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and
devise a
device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your
ways and your doings good.
Now therefore, tell the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem that this is what the LORD says: ‘Behold, I am
planning a
disaster for you and
devising a plan against you. Turn now, each of you, from your evil
ways, and correct your
ways and deeds.’
Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to
stumble in their
ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;
Yet My people have forgotten Me. They burn incense to worthless idols that make them
stumble in their
ways, leaving the ancient roads to walk on
rutted bypaths instead of on the
highway.
Wherefore their way shall be unto them as
slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their
visitation, saith the LORD.
“Therefore their path will become
slick; they will be driven away into the darkness and fall into it. For I will bring
disaster upon them in the year of their punishment,” declares the LORD.
But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
But if they had stood in My council, they would have proclaimed My words to My people and turned them back from their evil ways and deeds.”
They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
The prophets told you, ‘Turn now, each of you, from your evil
ways and deeds, and you can dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers
forever and ever.
Therefore now
amend your
ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will
repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
So now, correct your
ways and deeds, and obey the voice of the LORD your God, so that He might relent of the
disaster He has pronounced against you.
Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.
I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and
amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor
hearkened unto me.
Again and again I have sent you all My servants the prophets,
proclaiming: ‘Turn now, each of you, from your wicked
ways, and correct your actions. Do not go after other gods to serve them. Live in the land that I have given to you and your fathers.’ But you have not inclined your ear or
listened to Me.
The
ways of
Zion do
mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are
desolate: her priests
sigh, her virgins are
afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
The roads to
Zion mourn, because no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gates are deserted; her priests
groan, her maidens
grieve, and she herself is bitter with
anguish.
He hath inclosed my
ways with
hewn stone, he hath made my paths
crooked.
He has
barred my
ways with cut stones; He has made my paths
crooked.
He hath turned aside my
ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me
desolate.
He forced me off my path and
tore me to pieces; He left me without help.
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy
ways, and will
recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
The end is now upon you, and I will
unleash My anger against you. I will judge you according to your
ways and repay you for all your abominations.
And mine eye shall not
spare thee, neither will I have
pity: but I will
recompense thy
ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I will not look on you with
pity, nor will I
spare you, but I will
punish you for your
ways and for the abominations among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’
Now will I shortly pour out my
fury upon thee, and
accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy
ways, and will
recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Very soon I will pour out My wrath upon you and
vent My anger against you; I will judge you according to your
ways and repay you for all your abominations.
And mine eye shall not
spare, neither will I have
pity: I will
recompense thee according to thy
ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.
I will not look on you with
pity, nor will I
spare you, but I will
punish you for your
ways and for the abominations among you. Then you will know that it is I, the LORD, who strikes the blow.
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous
sad, whom I have not made
sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
Because you have
disheartened the righteous with your lies, even though I have caused them no grief, and because you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil
ways to save their lives,
And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
They will bring you
consolation when you see their conduct and actions, and you will know that it was not without cause that I have done all these things within it,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
Yet hast thou not walked after their
ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou
wast corrupted more than they in all thy
ways.
And you not only walked in their
ways and practiced their abominations, but soon you were more
depraved than they were.
Then thou shalt remember thy
ways, and be
ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
Then you will remember your
ways and be
ashamed when you receive your older and younger sisters. I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of My covenant with you.
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord GOD. Wouldn’t I
prefer that he turn from his
ways and live?
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is it My way that is unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are My ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his
ways, saith the Lord GOD.
Repent, and turn
yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his
ways, declares the Lord GOD.
Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your
downfall.
And there shall ye remember your
ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been
defiled; and ye shall
lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
Then you will know, O house of Israel, that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for the sake of My name and not according to your wicked ways and corrupt acts, declares the Lord GOD.”
