Purim after the name of
Pur. Therefore for all the
words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them,

word with you, will you be
wearied? Yet who can keep from speaking?

Now a
word came to me secretly; my ears caught a
whisper of it.
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my
words are
swallowed up.
For then it would
outweigh the sand of the seas— no wonder my
words have been
rash.
Then should I yet have comfort;
yea, I would
harden myself in sorrow: let him not
spare; for I have not concealed the
words of the Holy One.
It still brings me comfort, and joy through
unrelenting pain, that I have not denied the
words of the Holy One.
How forcible are right
words! but what
doth your
arguing reprove?
How painful are
honest words! But what does your argument prove?
Do ye imagine to reprove
words, and the speeches of one that is
desperate, which are as wind?
Do you intend to correct my
words, and treat as wind my cry of
despair?
How long
wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the
words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
“How long will you go on saying such things? The
words of your mouth are a
blustering wind.
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
Will they not teach you and tell you, and speak from their understanding?
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
How then can I answer Him or choose my arguments against Him?
Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

words go unanswered and such a speaker be
vindicated?
Doth not the ear try
words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Does not the ear test words as the tongue tastes its food?
Hear
diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
Listen carefully to my
words; let my declaration ring in your ears.

wherewith he can do no good?
Should he
argue with useless
words or speeches that serve no purpose?

Are the consolations of God not enough for you, even words spoken gently to you?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
as you turn your spirit against God and pour such words from your mouth?
Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
Is there no end to your long-winded speeches? What provokes you to continue
testifying?
I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul’s
stead, I could
heap up
words against you, and
shake mine head at you.
I could also speak like you if you were in my place; I could
heap up
words against you and
shake my head at you.
How long will it be
ere ye make an end of
words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
“How long until you end these speeches? Show some sense, and then we can talk.
How long will ye
vex my soul, and break me in pieces with
words?
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
I wish that my words were recorded and inscribed in a book,
Hear
diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth
falsehood?
So how can you comfort me with empty
words? For your answers remain full of
falsehood.”

I would learn how He would answer, and consider what He would say.

treasured the
words of His mouth more than my daily bread.
And if it be not so now, who will make me a
liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
If this is not so, then who can prove me a
liar and reduce my
words to nothing?”
To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
To whom have you uttered these words? And whose spirit spoke through you?
After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.
After my
words, they spoke no more; my speech settled on them like
dew.

They waited for me as for rain and
drank in my
words like spring showers.

cockle instead of barley. The
words of Job are ended.

stinkweed instead of barley.” Thus conclude the

Indeed, I waited while you spoke; I
listened to your reasoning; as you searched for
words,
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that
convinced Job, or that answered his
words:
I paid you full attention. But no one proved Job wrong; not one of you
rebutted his arguments.
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
But Job has not directed his words against me, and I will not answer him with your arguments.
They were
amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
Job’s friends are dismayed, with no more to say; words have escaped them.
For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.
For I am full of words, and my spirit within me compels me.
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and
hearken to all my
words.
“But now, O Job, hear my speech, and
listen to all my
words.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
My
words are from an upright heart, and my lips speak
sincerely what I know.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
Surely you have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard these very words:
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have
sinned, and
perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
Then he sings before men with these
words: ‘I have
sinned and
perverted what was right; yet I did not get what I deserved.
Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
“Hear my words, O wise men; give ear to me, O men of learning.
For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
For the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.
If now thou hast understanding, hear this:
hearken to the voice of my
words.
If you have understanding, hear this;
listen to my
words.
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight.’
For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
For he adds rebellion to his sin; he
claps his hands among us and multiplies his
words against God.”
Therefore
doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth
words without knowledge.
So Job opens his mouth in vain and multiplies words without knowledge.”
For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
For truly my
words are free of
falsehood; one perfect in knowledge is with you.
Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
“Who is this who obscures My counsel by words without knowledge?
Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
Will he
beg you for mercy or speak to you softly?
Wherefore I
abhor myself, and
repent in dust and ashes.
Therefore I retract my
words, and I
repent in dust and ashes.”
And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these
words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is
kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
After the LORD had spoken these
words to Job, He said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is
kindled against you and your two friends. For you have not spoken about Me accurately, as My servant Job has.
Give ear to my
words, O LORD, consider my
meditation.
Give ear to my
words, O LORD; consider my
groaning.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open
sepulchre; they
flatter with their tongue.
For not a
word they speak can be trusted; destruction lies within them. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice
deceit.
The
words of the LORD are pure
words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,
purified seven times.
Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
As for the deeds of men— by the word of Your lips I have avoided the ways of the violent.
I have called upon thee, for thou
wilt hear me, O God:
incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
I call on You, O God, for You will answer me.
Incline Your ear to me; hear my
words.
As for God, his way is perfect: the
word of the LORD is tried: he is a
buckler to all those that trust in him.
As for God, His way is perfect; the
word of the LORD is
flawless. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.
Let the
words of my mouth, and the
meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my
redeemer.
May the
words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my
Redeemer.
My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the
words of my
roaring?
My God, my God, why have You
forsaken me? Why are You so far from saving me, so far from my
words of
groaning?
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
For the
word of the LORD is upright, and all His work is
trustworthy.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth.
The
words of his mouth are iniquity and
deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
The
words of his mouth are wicked and
deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and well-doing.
Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
For you
hate My instruction and cast My
words behind you.
You love every
word that devours, O
deceitful tongue.
Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the
words of my mouth.
The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
His speech is smooth as butter, but war is in his heart. His
words are softer than oil, yet they are swords
unsheathed.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Every day they
wrest my
words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
All day long they twist my
words; all their thoughts are on my
demise.
In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise,
Behold, they
belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they,
doth hear?
See what they
spew from their mouths— sharp
words from their lips: “For who can hear us?”
For the sin of their mouth and the
words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for
cursing and lying which they speak.
By the sins of their mouths and the
words of their lips, let them be
trapped in their pride, in the curses and lies they utter.
Who
whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter
words:
who
sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter
words like arrows,
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
The Lord gives the command; a great company of women
proclaim it:
Give ear, O my people, to my law:
incline your ears to the
words of my mouth.
Give ear, O my people, to my instruction;
listen to the
words of my mouth.
How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity
boast themselves?
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that
excel in strength, that do his commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of his
word.
Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His
word, who
hearken to the voice of His command.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
He remembers His covenant
forever, the
word He ordained for a thousand generations—
Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
until his
prediction came true and the
word of the LORD proved him right.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
He sent darkness, and it became dark— yet they
defied His
words.
Then believed they his
words; they
sang his praise.
Then they believed His promises and
sang His praise.
Yea, they
despised the pleasant land, they believed not his
word:
They
despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His promise.
Because they rebelled against the
words of God, and
contemned the counsel of the most High:
because they rebelled against the
words of God and
despised the counsel of the Most High.
He sent his
word, and
healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
He sent forth His
word and
healed them; He
rescued them from the Pit.
They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
