And in the seven
plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
During the seven
years of abundance, the land brought forth
bountifully.
And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.
During those seven years, Joseph collected all the excess food in the land of Egypt and stored it in the cities. In every city he laid up the food from the fields around it.
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the
years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of
Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.
Before the years of famine arrived, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.
And the seven
years of
plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
When the seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end,
And the seven
years of
dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the
dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. And although there was famine in every country, there was food throughout the land of Egypt.
And Joseph made
haste; for his
bowels did
yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to
weep; and he entered into his chamber, and
wept there.
Joseph
hurried out because he was moved to tears for his brother, and he went to a private room to
weep.
For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
For the famine has covered the land these two
years, and there will be five more
years without
plowing or harvesting.
And there will I
nourish thee; for yet there are five
years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
And there I will provide for you, because there will be five more
years of famine. Otherwise, you and your household and everything you own will come to
destitution.’
And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How old art thou?
“How many years have you lived?” Pharaoh asked.
And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the
years of my
pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty

years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the
years of the life of my fathers in the days of their
pilgrimage.
“My travels have lasted 130
years,” Jacob replied. “My
years have been few and hard, and they have not

And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the
asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that
year.
So they brought their
livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their flocks and herds, and their
donkeys. Throughout that
year he provided them with food in exchange for all their
livestock.
When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
When that
year was over, they came to him the second
year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord that our money is gone and all our
livestock belongs to you. There is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.
And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years.
And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years, and the length of his life was 147 years.
And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.
Now Joseph and his father’s household remained in Egypt, and Joseph lived to the age of 110.
So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten
years old: and they
embalmed him, and he was put in a
coffin in Egypt.
So Joseph died at the age of 110. And they
embalmed his body and placed it in a
coffin in Egypt.
And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and
Kohath, and Merari: and the
years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven
years.

Kohath, and Merari. Levi lived 137

fourscore years old, and Aaron
fourscore and three

This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
“This month is the beginning of months for you; it shall be the first month of your year.
Your lamb shall be without
blemish, a male of the first
year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Your lamb must be an
unblemished year-old male, and you may take it from the sheep or the goats.
Now the
sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty
years.
Now the duration of the Israelites’ stay in Egypt was 430 years.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty
years, even the
selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions went out of the land of Egypt.
Thou shalt therefore keep this
ordinance in his season from
year to
year.
Therefore you shall keep this statute at the appointed time year after year.
And the children of Israel did eat
manna forty
years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat
manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of
Canaan.
The Israelites
ate manna forty
years, until they came to a land where they could settle; they
ate manna until they reached the border of
Canaan.
If thou
buy an Hebrew servant, six
years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
If you
buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six
years. But in the seventh
year, he shall go free without paying anything.
And six
years thou shalt
sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
For six
years you are to
sow your land and gather its produce,
But the seventh
year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy
vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
but in the seventh
year you must let it rest and lie
fallow, so that the poor among your people may eat from the field and the wild animals may
consume what they leave. Do the same with your
vineyard and olive
grove.
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
Three times a
year you are to
celebrate a feast to Me.
And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
You are also to keep the Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the produce from what you
sow in the field. And keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the
year, when you gather your produce from the field.
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord GOD.
I will not drive them out from before thee in one
year; lest the land become
desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
I will not drive them out before you in a single
year; otherwise the land would become
desolate and wild animals would multiply against you.
Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually.
This is what you are to offer regularly on the altar, each day: two lambs that are a year old.
And Aaron shall make an
atonement upon the horns of it once in a
year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the
year shall he make
atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.
Once a
year Aaron shall make
atonement on the horns of the altar. Throughout your generations he shall make
atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of
atonement. The altar is most holy to the LORD.”
Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.
Everyone twenty
years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the LORD.
And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
And you are to
celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the
year.
Thrice in the
year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
For I will cast out the nations before thee, and
enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God
thrice in the
year.
For I will drive out the nations before you and
enlarge your borders, and no one will
covet your land when you go up three times a
year to appear before the LORD your God.
A
bekah for every man, that is, half a
shekel, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that went to be numbered, from twenty
years old and upward, for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty men.
a beka per person, that is, half a
shekel, according to the sanctuary
shekel, from
everyone twenty
years of age or older who had crossed over to be numbered, a total of 603,550 men.
And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month of the second year.
And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a
kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a
calf and a lamb, both of the first
year, without
blemish, for a burnt offering;
Then speak to the Israelites and say, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a
calf and a lamb—both a
year old and without
blemish—for a burnt offering,
And when the days of her
purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first
year for a burnt offering, and a young
pigeon, or a
turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
When the days of her
purification are complete, whether for a son or for a daughter, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a
year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young
pigeon or a
turtledove for a sin offering.
And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without
blemish, and one
ewe lamb of the first
year without
blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.
On the eighth day he is to bring two
unblemished male lambs, an
unblemished ewe lamb a
year old, a grain offering of three-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil, and one log of olive oil.
And this shall be an
everlasting statute unto you, to make an
atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a
year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
This is to be a permanent statute for you, to make
atonement once a
year for the Israelites because of all their sins.” And all this was done as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as
uncircumcised: three
years shall it be as
uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
When you enter the land and plant any kind of tree for food, you shall regard the fruit as forbidden. For three years it will be forbidden to you and must not be eaten.
But in the fourth
year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD
withal.
In the fourth year all its fruit must be consecrated as a praise offering to the LORD.
And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.
But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit; thus your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.
And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the
sheaf an he lamb without
blemish of the first
year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
On the day you wave the
sheaf, you shall offer a
year-old lamb without
blemish as a burnt offering to the LORD,
And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without
blemish of the first
year, and one young
bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
Along with the bread you are to present seven
unblemished male lambs a
year old, one young bull, and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
Then ye shall sacrifice one
kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first
year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
You shall also prepare one male goat as a sin offering and two male lambs a year old as a peace offering.
And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the
year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall
celebrate it in the seventh month.
You are to
celebrate this as a feast to the LORD for seven days each
year. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come; you are to
celebrate it in the seventh month.
Six
years thou shalt
sow thy field, and six
years thou shalt
prune thy
vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;
For six
years you may
sow your field and
prune your
vineyard and gather its crops.
But in the seventh
year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither
sow thy field, nor
prune thy
vineyard.
But in the seventh
year there shall be a Sabbath of complete rest for the land—a Sabbath to the LORD. You are not to
sow your field or
prune your
vineyard.
That which groweth of its own
accord of thy harvest thou shalt not
reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a
year of rest unto the land.
You are not to
reap the
aftergrowth of your harvest or gather the grapes of your untended vines. The land must have a
year of complete rest.
And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy
maid, and for thy
hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
And you shall count off seven Sabbaths of years—seven times seven years—so that the seven Sabbaths of years amount to forty-nine years.
And ye shall
hallow the
fiftieth year, and
proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
So you are to
consecrate the
fiftieth year and
proclaim liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be your
Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his property and to his clan.
A jubile shall that
fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not
sow, neither
reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
In this
Year of
Jubilee, each of you shall return to his own property.
According to the number of
years after the jubile thou shalt
buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of
years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
You are to
buy from your
neighbor according to the number of
years since the last
Jubilee; he is to sell to you according to the number of harvest
years remaining.
According to the multitude of
years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of
years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the
years of the fruits
doth he sell unto thee.
You shall increase the price in proportion to a greater number of years, or decrease it in proportion to a lesser number of years; for he is selling you a given number of harvests.
And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh
year? behold, we shall not
sow, nor gather in our increase:
Now you may wonder, ‘What will we eat in the seventh
year if we do not
sow or gather our produce?’
Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.
But I will send My blessing upon you in the sixth year, so that the land will yield a crop sufficient for three years.
And ye shall
sow the eighth
year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth
year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store.
While you are
sowing in the eighth
year, you will be eating from the previous harvest, until the ninth
year’s harvest comes in.
Then let him count the
years of the sale thereof, and restore the
overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.
he shall
calculate the
years since its sale, repay the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and return to his property.
But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will remain in possession of the
buyer until the
Year of
Jubilee. In the
Jubilee, however, it is to be released, so that he may return to his property.
And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may
redeem it within a whole
year after it is sold; within a full
year may he
redeem it.
If a man sells a house in a walled city, he retains his right of
redemption until a full
year after its sale; during that
year it may be redeemed.
And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
If it is not redeemed by the end of a full
year, then the house in the walled city is permanently transferred to its
buyer and his descendants. It is not to be released in the
Jubilee.
And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.
So whatever belongs to the Levites may be redeemed—a house sold in a city they possess—and must be released in the
Jubilee, because the houses in the cities of the Levites are their possession among the Israelites.
And if thy brother be
waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt
relieve him:
yea, though he be a stranger, or a
sojourner; that he may live with thee.
Now if your
countryman becomes destitute and cannot support himself among you, then you are to help him as you would a foreigner or stranger, so that he can continue to live among you.
But as an
hired servant, and as a
sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the
year of jubile:
Let him stay with you as a
hired worker or temporary resident; he is to work for you until the
Year of
Jubilee.
And he shall
reckon with him that bought him from the
year that he was sold to him unto the
year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of
years, according to the time of an
hired servant shall it be with him.
He and his purchaser will then count the time from the
year he sold himself up to the
Year of
Jubilee. The price of his sale will be determined by the number of
years, based on the daily wages of a
hired hand.
If there be yet many
years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his
redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
If many
years remain, he must pay for his
redemption in proportion to his purchase price.
And if there remain but few
years unto the
year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his
years shall he give him again the price of his
redemption.
And as a
yearly hired servant shall he be with him: and the other shall not rule with rigour over him in thy sight.
He shall be treated like a man
hired from
year to
year, but a foreign owner must not rule over him harshly in your sight.
And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
Even if he is not redeemed in any of these ways, he and his children shall be released in the
Year of
Jubilee.
And thy
estimation shall be of the male from twenty
years old even unto sixty
years old, even thy
estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary.
if the
valuation concerns a male from twenty to sixty
years of age, then your
valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary
shekel.
And if it be from five
years old even unto twenty
years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if the person is from five to twenty
years of age, then your
valuation for the male shall be twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if it be from a month old even unto five
years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy
estimation shall be three shekels of silver.
Now if the person is from one month to five
years of age, then your
valuation for the male shall be five shekels of silver, and for the female three shekels of silver.
And if it be from sixty
years old and above; if it be a male, then thy
estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if the person is sixty
years of age or older, then your
valuation shall be fifteen shekels for the male and ten shekels for the female.
If he
sanctify his field from the
year of jubile, according to thy
estimation it shall stand.
If he consecrates his field during the
Year of
Jubilee, the price will stand according to your
valuation.
But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall
reckon unto him the money according to the
years that remain, even unto the
year of the jubile, and it shall be
abated from thy
estimation.
But if he consecrates his field after the
Jubilee, the priest is to
calculate the price in proportion to the
years left until the next
Year of
Jubilee, so that your
valuation will be reduced.
Then the priest shall
reckon unto him the worth of thy
estimation, even unto the
year of the jubile: and he shall give thine
estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto the LORD.
then the priest shall
calculate for him the value up to the
Year of
Jubilee, and the man shall pay the
assessed value on that day as a sacred offering to the LORD.
In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong.
In the
Year of
Jubilee the field shall return to the one from whom it was bought—the original owner of the land.
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of
Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second
year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
On the first day of the second month of the second
year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of
Sinai. He said:
