And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name
Seth: For God, said she, hath
appointed me another seed instead of
Abel, whom
Cain slew.
And Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son and named him
Seth, saying, “God has granted me another seed in place of
Abel, since
Cain killed him.”
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time
appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and
Sarah shall have a son.
Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the
appointed time I will return to you—in about a year—and
Sarah will have a son.”
And let it come to pass, that the
damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast
appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.
Now may it happen that the
girl to whom I say, ‘Please let down your
jar that I may drink,’ and who responds, ‘Drink, and I will water your camels as well’—let her be the one You have
appointed for Your servant Isaac. By this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”
And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master’s son.
and she
replies, ‘Drink, and I will draw water for your camels as well,’ may she be the woman the LORD has
appointed for my master’s son.
Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to
afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh
treasure cities,
Pithom and Raamses.
So the Egyptians
appointed taskmasters over the Israelites to
oppress them with forced labor. As a result, they built
Pithom and
Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh.
And the LORD
appointed a set time, saying, To
morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
The LORD set a time, saying, “
Tomorrow the LORD will do this in the land.”
Thou shalt therefore keep this
ordinance in his season from year to year.
Therefore you shall keep this statute at the appointed time year after year.
Thou shalt keep the feast of
unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat
unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time
appointed of the month
Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
You are to keep the Feast of
Unleavened Bread as I commanded you: At the
appointed time in the month of
Abib you are to eat
unleavened bread for seven days, because that was the month you came out of Egypt. No one may appear before Me empty-handed.
The feast of
unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month
Abib: for in the month
Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
You are to keep the Feast of
Unleavened Bread. For seven days at the
appointed time in the month of
Abib, you are to eat
unleavened bread as I commanded you. For in the month of
Abib you came out of Egypt.
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and
confess over him all the
iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
Then he is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and
confess over it all the
iniquities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to put them on the goat’s head and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man
appointed for the task.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘These are My
appointed feasts, the feasts of the LORD that you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies.
These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall
proclaim in their seasons.
These are the LORD’s
appointed feasts, the sacred
assemblies you are to
proclaim at their
appointed times.
These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
These are the LORD’s
appointed feasts, which you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies for presenting offerings by fire to the LORD—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.
So Moses
announced to the Israelites the
appointed feasts of the LORD.
These were the
renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.
Let the children of Israel also keep the
passover at his
appointed season.
“The Israelites are to observe the
Passover at its
appointed time.
In the
fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his
appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.
You are to observe it at the
appointed time, at
twilight on the
fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with its statutes and ordinances.”
And those men said unto him, We are
defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his
appointed season among the children of Israel?
and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the
passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his
appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
But if a man who is
ceremonially clean and is not on a journey still fails to observe the
Passover, he must be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD’s offering at its
appointed time. That man will bear the consequences of his sin.
Also in the day of your
gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the
trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a
memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
And on your
joyous occasions, your
appointed feasts, and the beginning of each month, you are to blow the
trumpets over your burnt offerings and
fellowship offerings to serve as a reminder for you before your God. I am the LORD your God.”
And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD from the
herd or flock to produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, for a special
vow or
freewill offering or
appointed feast—
Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire, for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season.
“Command the Israelites and say to them: See that you present to Me at its
appointed time the food for My offerings by fire, as a pleasing
aroma to Me.
These things ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your
freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.
You are to present these offerings to the LORD at your
appointed times, in addition to your
vow and
freewill offerings, whether burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, or peace offerings.”
And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall
appoint for the
manslayer, that he may
flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.
Six of the cities you give the Levites are to be
appointed as cities of refuge, to which a
manslayer may
flee. In addition to these, give the Levites forty-two other cities.
So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over
fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.
So I took the leaders of your tribes, wise and respected men, and
appointed them as leaders over you—as commanders of thousands, of hundreds, of
fifties, and of tens, and as officers for your tribes.
And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the
solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,
Then Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of remission of debt, during the Feast of Tabernacles,
Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:
So Joshua summoned the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe,
And it came to pass, when the king of
Ai saw it, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time
appointed, before the plain; but he
wist not that there were liers in
ambush against him behind the city.
When the king of
Ai saw the Israelites, he
hurried out early in the morning with the men of the city to
engage them in battle at an
appointed place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an
ambush had been set up against him behind the city.
And they
appointed Kedesh in
Galilee in mount
Naphtali, and
Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjath-arba, which is
Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
So they set apart Kedesh in
Galilee in the hill country of
Naphtali,
Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath-arba (that is,
Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.
These were the cities
appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that
whosoever killeth any person at unawares might
flee thither, and not die by the hand of the
avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
These are the cities
appointed for all the Israelites and foreigners among them, so that
anyone who kills a person
unintentionally may
flee there and not die by the hand of the
avenger of blood prior to standing trial before the assembly.
And there went from thence of the family of the Danites, out of Zorah and out of Eshtaol, six hundred men appointed with weapons of war.
So six hundred Danites departed from Zorah and Eshtaol, armed with weapons of war.
And the six hundred men
appointed with their weapons of war, which were of the children of
Dan, stood by the entering of the gate.
The six hundred Danites stood at the entrance of the gate, armed with their weapons of war.
And the five men that went to
spy out the land went up, and came in thither, and took the
graven image, and the
ephod, and the
teraphim, and the
molten image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate with the six hundred men that were
appointed with weapons of war.
And the five men who had gone to
spy out the land went inside and took the
graven image, the
ephod, the household idols, and the
molten idol, while the priest stood at the entrance of the gate with the six hundred armed men.
Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.
The men of Israel had arranged a signal with the men in
ambush: When they sent up a great cloud of smoke from the city,
And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges over Israel.
And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

And he
tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had
appointed: but Samuel came not to
Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
And Saul waited seven days for the time
appointed by Samuel, but Samuel did not come to
Gilgal, and the troops began to desert Saul.
And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days
appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at
Michmash;
“What have you done?” Samuel asked. And Saul replied, “When I saw that the troops were deserting me, and that you did not come at the
appointed time and the Philistines were gathering at
Michmash,
But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.
But now your kingdom will not
endure; the LORD has sought a man after His own heart and
appointed him ruler over His people, because you have not kept the command of the LORD.”
And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets
prophesying, and Samuel standing as
appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also
prophesied.

prophesying, with Samuel leading them, the Spirit of God came upon them, and Saul’s messengers also began to
prophesy.
And it came to pass in the morning, that
Jonathan went out into the field at the time
appointed with David, and a little
lad with him.

And David said unto
Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business
whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have
appointed my servants to such and such a place.
“The king has given me a mission,” David replied. “He told me no one is to know about the mission or charge. And I have directed my young men to meet me at a certain place.
And it shall come to pass, when the LORD shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;
When the LORD has done for my lord all the good He promised, and when He has appointed you ruler over Israel,
And the princes of the Philistines were
wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast
appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an
adversary to us: for
wherewith should he
reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
But the commanders of the Philistines were
angry with Achish and told him, “Send that man back and let him return to the place you assigned him. He must not go down with us into battle only to become our
adversary during the war. What better way for him to regain the favor of his master than with the heads of our men?
And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to
appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
But David said to Michal, “I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me over your father and all his house when He
appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel. I will
celebrate before the LORD,
In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of
cedar?
In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders I
appointed to
shepherd My people Israel, ‘Why
haven’t you built Me a house of
cedar?’
And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.
and have done since the day I appointed judges over My people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies. The LORD declares to you that He Himself will establish a house for you.
And
Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of
Ahithophel. For the LORD had
appointed to defeat the good counsel of
Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon
Absalom.
And David numbered the people that were with him, and set captains of thousands and captains of hundreds over them.
Then David reviewed his troops and appointed over them commanders of hundreds and of thousands.
So
Amasa went to
assemble the men of Judah: but he
tarried longer than the set time which he had
appointed him.
He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
He was most honored among the Thirty, but he did not become one of the Three. And David appointed him over his guard.
So the LORD sent a
pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time
appointed: and there died of the people from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba seventy thousand men.
So the LORD sent a plague upon Israel from that morning until the
appointed time, and seventy thousand of the people from
Dan to
Beersheba died.
Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my
stead: and I have
appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
Then you shall go up with him, and he is to come and sit on my throne and reign in my place. For I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.”
And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and
Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of
Abiathar.
And the king
appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada in
Joab’s place over the army, and he
appointed Zadok the priest in
Abiathar’s place.
And they arose out of
Midian, and came to
Paran: and they took men with them out of
Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and
appointed him
victuals, and gave him land.
Hadad and his men set out from
Midian and went to
Paran. They took men from
Paran with them and went to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave
Hadad a house and land and provided him with food.
So
Jeroboam and all the people came to
Rehoboam the third day, as the king had
appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.
After three days,
Jeroboam and all the people returned to
Rehoboam, since the king had said, “Come back to me on the third day.”
And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.
Jeroboam also built shrines on the high places and
appointed from every class of people priests who were not Levites.
After this thing
Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places:
whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.
Even after these events,
Jeroboam did not
repent of his evil ways, but again he
appointed priests for the high places from every class of people. He ordained
anyone who desired to be a priest of the high places.
Go, tell
Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel,
Forasmuch as I
exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
Go, tell
Jeroboam that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I raised you up from among the people and
appointed you ruler over My people Israel.
And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
And the prophet said to the king, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Because you have let slip from your hand the man I had devoted to destruction, your life will be exchanged for his life, and your people for his people.’”
And the king
appointed the lord on whose hand he
leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people
trode upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him.
Now the king had
appointed the officer on whose arm he
leaned to be in charge of the gate, but the people
trampled him in the
gateway, and he died, just as the man of God had
foretold when the king had come to him.
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
When the king asked the woman, she confirmed it. So the king appointed for her an officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, along with all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the country until now.”
In his days

And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings,
Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.
And they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now
Jehu had stationed eighty men outside and
warned them, “If
anyone allows one of the men I am delivering into your hands to escape, he will
forfeit his life for theirs.”
And all the people of the land went into the house of
Baal, and
brake it down; his altars and his images
brake they in pieces thoroughly, and
slew Mattan the priest of
Baal before the altars. And the priest
appointed officers over the house of the LORD.
So all the people of the land went to the temple of
Baal and
tore it down. They
smashed the altars and idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of
Baal in front of the altars. And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.
So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
So the new residents worshiped the LORD, but they also appointed for themselves priests of all sorts to serve in the shrines of the high places.
And
Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to
Lachish, saying, I have
offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria
appointed unto
Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
So
Hezekiah king of Judah sent word to the king of Assyria at
Lachish, saying, “I have done wrong; withdraw from me, and I will pay whatever you demand from me.” And the king of Assyria exacted from
Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king’s presence, which were found in the city, and the principal
scribe of the host, which
mustered the people of the land, and
threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
Of those still in the city, he took a court official who had been
appointed over the men of war, as well as five royal advisors. He also took the
scribe of the captain of the army, who had
enlisted the people of the land, and sixty men who were found in the city.
And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon
appointed Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, over the people he had left behind in the land of Judah.
And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, there came to Gedaliah to
Mizpah, even
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Careah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
When all the commanders of the armies and their men heard that the king of Babylon had
appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at
Mizpah—
Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maacathite, as well as their men.
Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were
appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an
atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the Most Holy Place. They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense to make
atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
All these which were chosen to be
porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their
genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the
seer did
ordain in their set office.
The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by
genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the
seer had
appointed them to their positions of trust.
Some of them also were
appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the
frankincense, and the spices.
Others were put in charge of the furnishings and other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the fine flour, wine, oil,
frankincense, and spices.
Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.
He was most honored among the Thirty, but he did not become one of the Three. And David appointed him over his guard.
So the Levites
appointed Heman the son of
Joel; and of his brethren,
Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren,
Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
So the Levites
appointed Heman son of
Joel; from his brothers,
Asaph son of Berechiah; from their brothers the Merarites,
Ethan son of Kushaiah;
So the singers, Heman,
Asaph, and
Ethan, were
appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;
The musicians Heman,
Asaph, and
Ethan were to sound the bronze cymbals.
And he
appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to
thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:
David
appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to
celebrate, to give
thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel.
Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?
In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leaders I
appointed to
shepherd My people, ‘Why
haven’t you built Me a house of
cedar?’
And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will
subdue all thine enemies.
Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
and have done since the day I
appointed judges over My people Israel. And I will
subdue all your enemies. Moreover, I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you.
And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to
hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD:
Whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts, they were to serve regularly before the LORD in the numbers prescribed for them.
These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
This was their
appointed order for service when they entered the house of the LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their
forefather Aaron, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the
firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)
Hosah the Merarite also had sons: Shimri the first (although he was not the
firstborn, his father had
appointed him as the first),
And his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of
Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.
Among Jerijah’s relatives there were 2,700 capable men who were heads of families. King David
appointed them over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of
Manasseh for every matter pertaining to God and to the affairs of the king.
Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to
dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual
shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an
ordinance for ever to Israel.
Behold, I am about to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God to
dedicate to Him for burning
fragrant incense before Him, for displaying the
showbread continuously, and for making burnt offerings every morning and evening as well as on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and
appointed feasts of the LORD our God. This is ordained for Israel
forever.
Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of
unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
He observed the daily requirement for offerings according to the commandment of Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual
appointed feasts—the Feast of
Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles.
And he
appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the

In keeping with the ordinances of his father David, Solomon appointed the divisions of the priests over their service, and the Levites for their duties to offer praise and to minister before the priests according to the daily requirement. And

Jehoshaphat appointed in Jerusalem some of the Levites, priests, and heads of the
Israelite families to judge on behalf of the LORD and to settle disputes. And they lived in Jerusalem.
And when he had consulted with the people, he
appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of
holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
Then
Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and
appointed those who would sing to the LORD and praise the
splendor of His
holiness. As they went out before the army, they were singing: “Give

Hezekiah appointed military commanders over the people and gathered the people in the square of the city gate. Then he encouraged them, saying,
Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have
appointed for your fathers; so that they will take
heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to leave the land that I assigned to your fathers, if only they are careful to do all that I have commanded them through Moses—all the laws, statutes, and judgments.”
