firmament of heaven.
And God said, “Let the waters
teem with living creatures, and let
birds fly above the earth in the open
expanse of the sky.”
And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

birds of the air, over the
livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and
subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and
crawling creature and
bird of the air—for I am
grieved that I have made them.”

And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed—man and
livestock,
crawling creatures and
birds of the air; they were
blotted out from the earth, and only
Noah and those with him in the ark remained.
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
Bring out all the living creatures that are with you—

birthright, and now he has taken my blessing.” Then he asked, “
Haven’t you saved a blessing for me?”

And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
If, instead, one’s offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of
birds, he is to present a
turtledove or a young
pigeon.
And he shall
cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it
asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
He shall
tear it open by its wings, without dividing the
bird completely. And the priest is to burn it on the altar
atop the burning wood. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him for his sin which he hath
sinned, and it shall be
forgiven him.
And the priest must prepare the second
bird as a burnt offering according to the
ordinance. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.

crawl along the ground.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her
infirmity shall she be unclean.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘A woman who becomes
pregnant and gives
birth to a son will be unclean for seven days, as she is during the days of her
menstruation.
But if she bear a
maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her
purifying threescore and six days.
If, however, she gives
birth to a daughter, the woman will be unclean for two weeks as she is during her
menstruation. Then she must continue in
purification from her
bleeding for sixty-six days.
Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an
atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
And the priest will present them before the LORD and make
atonement for her; and she shall be
ceremonially cleansed from her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman giving
birth, whether to a male or to a female.
Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be
cleansed two
birds alive and clean, and
cedar wood, and scarlet, and
hyssop:
the priest shall order that two live clean
birds,
cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and
hyssop be brought for the one to be
cleansed.
And the priest shall command that one of the
birds be killed in an
earthen vessel over running water:
Then the priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over fresh water in a clay pot.
As for the living
bird, he shall take it, and the
cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the
hyssop, and shall dip them and the living
bird in the blood of the
bird that was killed over the running water:
And he is to take the live
bird together with the
cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and
hyssop, and dip them into the blood of the
bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water.
And he shall
sprinkle upon him that is to be
cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall
pronounce him clean, and shall let the living
bird loose into the open field.
Seven times he shall
sprinkle the one to be
cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall
pronounce him clean and release the live
bird into the open field.
And he shall take to
cleanse the house two
birds, and
cedar wood, and scarlet, and
hyssop:
And he shall kill the one of the
birds in an
earthen vessel over running water:
and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.
And he shall take the
cedar wood, and the
hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living
bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain
bird, and in the running water, and
sprinkle the house seven times:
Then he shall take the
cedar wood, the
hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live
bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered
bird and the fresh water, and
sprinkle the house seven times.
And he shall
cleanse the house with the blood of the
bird, and with the running water, and with the living
bird, and with the
cedar wood, and with the
hyssop, and with the scarlet:
And he shall
cleanse the house with the
bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live
bird, the
cedar wood, the
hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.
But he shall let go the living
bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an
atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.
Finally, he is to release the live
bird into the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make
atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if any
Israelite or foreigner living among them hunts down a wild animal or
bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and
birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or
bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.
Have I conceived all this people? have I
begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy
bosom, as a
nursing father beareth the
sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them
birth, so that You should tell me, ‘Carry them in your
bosom, as a
nurse carries an infant,’ to the land that You
swore to give their fathers?
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
of any beast that is on the earth or
bird that
flies in the air,
Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
You may eat any clean bird,
But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
But you may eat any clean bird.
If a
bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the
dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the
dam with the young:
If you come across a bird’s nest with chicks or eggs, either in a tree or on the ground along the road, and the mother is sitting on the chicks or eggs, you must not take the mother along with the young.
A
bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
No one of
illegitimate birth may enter the assembly of the LORD, nor may any of his descendants, even to the tenth generation.
And thy
carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall
fray them away.
Your corpses will be food for all the
birds of the air and beasts of the earth, with no one to
scare them away.
Of the Rock that
begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
You
ignored the Rock who brought you forth; you
forgot the God who gave you
birth.
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
The angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “It is true that you are barren and have no children; but you will conceive and give birth to a son.
For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no
razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a
Nazarite unto God from the
womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
For behold, you will conceive and give
birth to a son. And no
razor shall come over his head, because the boy will be a
Nazirite to God from the
womb, and he will begin the
deliverance of Israel from the hand of the Philistines.”
But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a
Nazarite to God from the
womb to the day of his death.
But he said to me, ‘Behold, you will conceive and give
birth to a son. Now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a
Nazirite to God from the
womb until the day of his death.’”

nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not
heretofore.
Boaz replied, “I have been made fully aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, how you left your father and mother and the land of your birth, and how you came to a people you did not know before.
So Boaz took
Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
So Boaz took
Ruth, and she became his wife. And when he had relations with her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave
birth to a son.
And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a
nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.

birth.”
