And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the
cubit and an hand
breadth: so he measured the
breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
And I saw a wall surrounding the temple area. Now the length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six long cubits (each measuring a
cubit and a
handbreadth), and he measured the wall to be one rod thick and one rod high.
And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.

doorway to
doorway.
Then he measured the
breadth from the
forefront of the lower gate unto the
forefront of the inner court without, an hundred cubits eastward and northward.
Then he measured the distance from the front of the lower
gateway to the outside of the inner court; it was a hundred cubits on the east side as well as on the north.
And the gate of the outward court that looked toward the north, he measured the length thereof, and the breadth thereof.
He also measured the length and width of the
gateway of the outer court facing north.
And the little chambers thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

portico all had the same measurements as the first gate: fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
Both the
gateway and its
portico had windows all around, like the other windows. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.
The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, and the windows to it round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
as did its gate chambers, side pillars, and
portico. It also had windows all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And he brought me to the
porch of the house, and measured each post of the
porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the
breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.
Then he brought me to the
portico of the temple and measured the side pillars of the
portico to be five cubits on each side. The width of the
gateway was fourteen cubits and its sidewalls were three cubits on either side.
The length of the
porch was twenty cubits, and the
breadth eleven cubits; and he brought me by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
The
portico was twenty cubits wide and twelve cubits deep, and ten steps led up to it. There were columns by the side pillars, one on each side.
Afterward he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.
Then the man brought me into the outer sanctuary and measured the side pillars to be six cubits wide on each side.

Next he measured the wall of the temple to be six cubits thick, and the width of each side room around the temple was four cubits.
And there was an
enlarging, and a winding about still upward to the side chambers: for the winding about of the house went still upward round about the house: therefore the
breadth of the house was still upward, and so increased from the lowest chamber to the highest by the midst.
The side rooms surrounding the temple
widened at each successive level, because the structure surrounding the temple ascended by stages corresponding to the narrowing of the temple wall as it rose upward. And so a
stairway went up from the lowest story to the highest, through the middle one.
And the doors of the side chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

breadth inward, a way of one
cubit; and their doors toward the north.
In front of the chambers was an inner walkway ten cubits wide and a hundred cubits long. Their doors were on the north.

cubit, and the
breadth a
cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
These are the measurements of the altar in long cubits (a
cubit and a
handbreadth): Its
gutter shall be a
cubit deep and a
cubit wide, with a
rim of one span around its edge. And this is the height of the altar:
And from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, and the

oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the
breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.
“When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance, you are to set aside a portion for the LORD, a holy portion of the land 25,000 cubits long and 20,000 cubits wide. This entire tract of land will be holy.
Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with five hundred in breadth, square round about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.
Within this area there is to be a section for the sanctuary 500 cubits square, with 50 cubits around it for open land.
And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand: and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.
From this holy portion, you are to measure off a length of 25,000 cubits and a width of 10,000 cubits, and in it will be the sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.
An adjacent area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide shall belong to the Levites who minister in the temple; it will be their possession for towns in which to live.
And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
Bordering the territory of Judah, from east to west, will be the portion you are to set apart. It will be 25,000 cubits wide, and the length of a
tribal portion from east to west. In the center will be the sanctuary.

oblation that ye shall offer unto the LORD shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in

oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in
breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in
breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof.
This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.
And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.
And the five thousand, that are left in the
breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a
profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
The remaining area, 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and
hasty nation, which shall march through the
breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.
For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans— that
ruthless and

breadth of the earth to seize dwellings not their own.
Then said I,
Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the
breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
“What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying
scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”
