I
marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that
called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
I am
amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who
called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s
womb, and
called me by his grace,
But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s
womb and
called me by His grace, was pleased
This
persuasion cometh not of him that
calleth you.
Such
persuasion does not come from the One who
calls you.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
For you, brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Rather, serve one another in love.
The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
I ask that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His
calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are
called Uncircumcision by that which is
called the
Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
Therefore remember that formerly you who are Gentiles in the flesh and
called uncircumcised by the so-
called circumcision (that done in the body by human hands)—
As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I
urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the
calling you have received:
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I press on toward the
goal to
win the prize of God’s heavenly
calling in Christ Jesus.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are
called in one body; and be ye
thankful.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were
called as members of one body. And be
thankful.
And Jesus, which is
called Justus, who are of the
circumcision. These only are my fellow workers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews among my fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
encouraging you, comforting you, and
urging you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who
calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
For God hath not
called us unto uncleanness, but unto
holiness.
For God has not
called us to impurity, but to
holiness.
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
To this end, we always pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of His
calling, and that He will powerfully
fulfill your every good desire and work of faith,
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is
called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,
shewing himself that he is God.
He will
oppose and
exalt himself above every so-
called god or object of worship. So he will seat himself in the temple of God,
proclaiming himself to be God.
Whereunto he
called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
To this He called you through our gospel, so that you may share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,
whereunto thou art also
called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession before many witnesses.
O
Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding
profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so
called:
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “
Everyone who
calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.”
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that
call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Flee from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who
call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are
sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not
ashamed to
call them brethren,
For both the One who sanctifies and those who are
sanctified are of the same family. So Jesus is not
ashamed to
call them brothers.
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly
calling, set your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we
confess.
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was.
So also Christ
glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I
begotten thee.
So also Christ did not take upon Himself the glory of becoming a high priest, but He was
called by the One who said to Him: “You are My Son;
today I have become Your Father.”
Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
and was designated by God as high priest in the order of
Melchizedek.
If therefore perfection were by the
Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be
called after the order of Aaron?
Now if perfection could have been attained through the
Levitical priesthood (for on this basis the people received the law), why was there still need for another priest to appear—one in the order of
Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?
For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the
candlestick, and the table, and the
shewbread; which is
called the sanctuary.
A tabernacle was prepared. In its first room were the lampstand, the table, and the consecrated bread. This was called the Holy Place.
And after the second
veil, the tabernacle which is
called the Holiest of all;
Behind the second
curtain was a room
called the Most Holy Place,
Neither by the blood of goats and
calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us.
He did not enter by the blood of goats and
calves, but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus securing eternal
redemption.
And for this cause he is the
mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the
redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are
called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Therefore Christ is the
mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are
called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to
redeem them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
For when Moses had spoken every
precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of
calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and
hyssop, and
sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
For when Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of
calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and
hyssop, and
sprinkled the
scroll and all the people,
Remember the early days that you were in the light. In those days, you
endured a great conflict in the face of suffering.
By faith Abraham, when he was
called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing
whither he went.
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, without knowing where he was going.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not
ashamed to be
called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Instead, they were longing for a better country, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not
ashamed to be
called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
even though God had said to him, “Through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.”
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
By faith Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
Do not they
blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are
called?
Are they not the ones who
blaspheme the noble name by which you have been
called?
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.
Is any sick among you? let him
call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
Is any one of you sick? He should
call the elders of the church to pray over him and
anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do,
And if ye
call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your
sojourning here in fear:
Since you
call on a Father who judges each one’s work impartially, conduct
yourselves in
reverent fear during your stay as foreigners.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to
proclaim the virtues of Him who
called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light.
For even
hereunto were ye
called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His footsteps:
Even as
Sarah obeyed Abraham,
calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any
amazement.
just as
Sarah obeyed Abraham and
called him lord. And you are her children if you do what is right and refuse to give way to fear.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but
contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are
thereunto called, that ye should
inherit a blessing.
Do not repay evil with evil or
insult with
insult, but with blessing, because to this you were
called so that you may
inherit a blessing.
But the God of all grace, who hath
called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,
stablish,
strengthen, settle you.
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has
called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you,
strengthen you, and establish you.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that
pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath
called us to glory and virtue:
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and
godliness through the knowledge of Him who
called us by His own glory and excellence.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Therefore, brothers,
strive to make your
calling and election sure. For if you practice these things you will never
stumble,
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Behold what manner of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God. And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth,
prating against us with
malicious words: and not content
therewith, neither
doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
So if I come, I will
call attention to his
malicious slander against us. And unsatisfied with that, he refuses to
welcome the brothers and forbids those who want to do so, even putting them out of the church.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are
sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and
called:
Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, To those who are
called, loved by God the Father, and kept in Jesus Christ:
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in
tribulation, and in the kingdom and
patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is
called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
I, John, your brother and
partner in the
tribulation and kingdom and
perseverance that are in Jesus, was on the island of
Patmos because of the word of God and my testimony about Jesus.
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman
Jezebel, which
calleth herself a
prophetess, to teach and to
seduce my servants to commit
fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
But I have this against you: You
tolerate that woman
Jezebel, who
calls herself a
prophetess. By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
But unto you I say, and unto the rest in
Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of
Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
But I say to the rest of you in
Thyatira, who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned the so-
called deep things of
Satan: I will place no further burden upon you.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a
calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a
calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he
cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to
hurt the earth and the sea,
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, with the seal of the living God. And he
called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to
harm the land and the sea:
And the name of the star is
called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became
wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
The name of the star is
Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter like
wormwood oil, and many people died from the bitter waters.
And I
beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice,
Woe,
woe,
woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the
trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
And as I observed, I heard an eagle flying overhead,
calling in a loud voice, “
Woe!
Woe!
Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the
trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the remaining three angels!”
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is
called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was
crucified.
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Then the seventh angel sounded his
trumpet, and loud voices
called out in heaven: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign
forever and ever.”
And the great
dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And the great
dragon was
hurled down—that ancient serpent
called the devil and
Satan, the
deceiver of the whole world. He was
hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the
patience and the faith of the saints.
“If
anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he will go; if
anyone is to die by the sword, by the sword he must be killed.” Here is a
call for the
perseverance and faith of the saints.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred
threescore and six.
Here is a
call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight
calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his
forehead, or in his hand,
And a third angel followed them,
calling out in a loud voice, “If
anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on his
forehead or on his hand,
Here is the
patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Here is a
call for the
perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and
cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp
sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp
sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
Still another angel, with authority over the fire, came from the altar and
called out in a loud voice to the angel with the sharp
sickle, “
Swing your sharp
sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are ripe.”
And he gathered them together into a place
called in the Hebrew tongue
Armageddon.
And they assembled the kings in the place that in Hebrew is
called Armageddon.
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
They will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will triumph over them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and He will be accompanied by His called and chosen and faithful ones.”
And the light of a
candle shall
shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the
bridegroom and of the
bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy
sorceries were all nations
deceived.
The light of a lamp will never
shine in you again, and the voices of a
bride and
bridegroom will never
call out in you again. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were
deceived by your
sorcery.”
And again they said,
Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are
called unto the marriage
supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage
supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was
called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he
doth judge and make war.
Then I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse. And its rider is called Faithful and True. With righteousness He judges and wages war.
And he was clothed with a
vesture dipped in blood: and his name is
called The Word of God.
He is dressed in a
robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of God.
And unto the people that was found there Josias gave thirty thousand lambs and kids, and three thousand
calves: these things were given of the king’s allowance, according as he promised, to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites.
And Helkias,
Zacharias, and Syelus, the governors of the temple, gave to the priests for the
passover two thousand and six hundred sheep, and three hundred
calves.
And Jeconias, and Samaias, and
Nathanael his brother, and Assabias, and Ochiel, and
Joram, captains over thousands, gave to the Levites for the
passover five thousand sheep, and seven hundred
calves.
Nevertheless the God of their fathers sent by his
messenger to
call them back, because he
spared them and his tabernacle also.
And he shall sit next to
Darius because of his wisdom, and shall be
called Darius his cousin.
And sending forth he called all the princes of Persia and Media, and the governors, and the captains, and the lieutenants, and the chief officers;
And he said, Call the young men, and they shall declare their own sentences. So they were called, and came in.
Then said the king unto him, Ask what thou
wilt more than is appointed in the writing, and we will give it thee, because thou art found wisest; and thou shalt sit next me, and shalt be
called my cousin.
To go up, and to build Jerusalem, and the temple which is
called by his name: and they feasted with instruments of musick and
gladness seven days.
The sons of
Calamolalus and
Onus, seven hundred twenty and five: the sons of Jerechus, two hundred forty and five:
The Lord therefore, whose name is there
called upon, utterly destroy every king and nation, that stretcheth out his hand to hinder or
endamage that house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
And these I gathered together to the river called Theras, where we pitched our tents three days: and then I surveyed them.
Then Jechonias the son of Jeelus, one of the sons of Israel,
called out, and said, O
Esdras, we have
sinned against the Lord God, we have married strange women of the nations of the land, and now is all Israel
aloft.
And of the Levites; Jozabad, and Semis, and Colius, who was
called Calitas, and Patheus, and
Judas, and
Jonas.
Also Jesus,
Anus, Sarabias, Adinus, Jacubus, Sabateas, Auteas, Maianeas, and
Calitas, Asrias, and Joazabdus, and
Ananias, Biatas, the Levites, taught the law of the Lord, making them
withal to understand it.
Whensoever ye shall
call upon me, I will not hear you: for ye have
defiled your hands with blood, and your feet are swift to commit
manslaughter.
They have seen no prophets, yet they shall
call their sins to
remembrance, and acknowledge them.
Nahum, and Abacuc, Sophonias, Aggeus, Zachary, and
Malachy, which is
called also an angel of the Lord.
As for me, O father, I call upon thee for a witness over the mother of these children, which would not keep my covenant,
The number of thy children, whom thou longedst for, is fulfilled:
beseech the power of the Lord, that thy people, which have been
called from the beginning, may be
hallowed.
So the times passed away, and the years were brought to an end: then
didst thou raise thee up a servant,
called David:
And I said, Tell on, my lord. Then said he unto me, Go thy way,
weigh me the weight of the fire, or measure me the blast of the wind, or
call me again the day that is past.
