The
crowd replied, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain

Jesus answered him,
Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake?
Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, The
cock shall not
crow, till thou hast denied me
thrice.

uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the
barracks.

For the
crowd that followed him kept
shouting, “Away with him!”

crowd. A great
hush came over the
crowd, and he addressed them in Hebrew:
And they gave him
audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
The
crowd listened to Paul until he made this statement. Then they lifted up their voices and
shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He is not fit to live!”
And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
Yet my accusers did not find me
debating with
anyone in the temple or
riling up a
crowd in the synagogues or in the city.
At the time they found me in the temple, I was
ceremonially clean and was not
inciting a
crowd or an
uproar. But there are some Jews from the province of Asia
And every man that striveth for the
mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible
crown; but we an incorruptible.
Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a
crown that is perishable, but we do it for a
crown that is imperishable.
Therefore, my brethren
dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and
crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my
dearly beloved.

For what is our hope, or joy, or
crown of
rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
After all, who is our hope, our joy, our
crown of
boasting, if it is not you
yourselves in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?
Likewise, a
competitor does not receive the
crown unless he competes according to the rules.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
From now on there is laid up for me the
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will
award to me on that day—and not only to me, but to all who
crave His appearing.
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou
crownedst him with glory and honour, and
didst set him over the works of thy hands:
You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now
crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for
everyone.
Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the

Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a
crown of glory that fadeth not away.

crown of glory that will never
fade away.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have
tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a
crown of life.
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will suffer
tribulation for ten days. Be faithful even unto death, and I will give you the
crown of life.

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
the twenty-four elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, and they worship Him who lives
forever and ever. They cast their
crowns before the throne, saying:
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a
crown was given unto him: and he went forth
conquering, and to
conquer.
So I looked and saw a white horse, and its rider held a bow. And he was given a
crown, and he
rode out to overcome and
conquer.

crowns on its horns and
blasphemous names on its heads.
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden
crown, and in his hand a sharp
sickle.
And I looked and saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was One like the Son of Man, with a golden
crown on His head and a sharp
sickle in His hand.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

blazing fire, and many royal
crowns on His head. He has a name written on Him that only He Himself knows.

crowns, and was more
exalted; which I
marvelled at greatly.
He answered and said unto me, These be they that have put off the
mortal clothing, and put on the
immortal, and have
confessed the name of God: now are they
crowned, and receive palms.
Then said I unto the angel, What young person is it that crowneth them, and giveth them palms in their hands?
Let us
crown ourselves with rosebuds, before they be
withered:
When it is present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a
crown, and triumpheth for ever, having
gotten the victory,
striving for
undefiled rewards.
Therefore shall they receive a glorious kingdom, and a beautiful crown from the Lord’s hand: for with his right hand shall he cover them, and with his arm shall he protect them.

crown, and his
robe, and his
signet, to the end he should bring up his son
Antiochus, and

wore a
crown or was clothed in purple, to be
magnified thereby:
