faint in the way.
Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I have
compassion for this
crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away
hungry, or they may
faint along the way.”

crowd?”

And He
instructed the
crowd to sit down on the ground.

crowd, a man came up to Jesus and
knelt before Him.

healed them there.
Large
crowds followed Him, and He
healed them there.
And as they departed from
Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
As they were leaving
Jericho, a large
crowd followed Him.
And the multitude
rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they
cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
The
crowd admonished them to be silent, but they
cried out all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed,
cried, saying,
Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord;
Hosanna in the highest.
The
crowds that went
ahead of Him and those that followed were
shouting: “
Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “
Hosanna in the highest!”
But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
Although they wanted to arrest Him, they were afraid of the crowds, because the people regarded Him as a prophet.
And when the multitude heard this, they were
astonished at his doctrine.
When the
crowds heard this, they were
astonished at His teaching.
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:

rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a
thief with swords and
staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw? Every day I sat teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me.
Then began he to
curse and to
swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the
cock crew.
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the
cock crow, thou shalt deny me
thrice. And he went out, and
wept bitterly.
Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken: “Before the
rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and
wept bitterly.

wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
So when the
crowd had assembled,
Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus put to death.
When
Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a
tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
When
Pilate saw that he was
accomplishing nothing, but that instead a
riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the
crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the
responsibility.”
And when they had
platted a
crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the
knee before him, and
mocked him, saying,
Hail, King of the Jews!
And they twisted together a
crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and
knelt down before Him to
mock Him, saying, “
Hail, King of the Jews!”
And when they could not come
nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the
palsy lay.
Since they were unable to get to Jesus through the
crowd, they uncovered the roof above Him, made an opening, and lowered the
paralytic on his mat.
But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from
Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
So Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large
crowd from
Galilee,
Judea,
And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and
Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
Jerusalem,
Idumea, the region beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and
Sidon. The large
crowd came to Him when they heard what great things He was doing.
And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should
throng him.
Jesus asked His disciples to have a boat ready for Him so that the
crowd would not
crush Him.
And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered, so that He and His disciples could not even eat.
And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
and a crowd was sitting around Him. “Look,” He was told, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking for You.”
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore.
And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
After they had dismissed the crowd, they took Jesus with them, since He was already in the boat. And there were other boats with Him.
And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was
nigh unto the sea.
When Jesus had again crossed by boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him beside the sea.
And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and
thronged him.
So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around Him.
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
When the woman heard about Jesus, she came up through the
crowd behind Him and touched His
cloak.
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
At once Jesus was aware that power had gone out from Him. Turning to the crowd, He asked, “Who touched My garments?”
And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude
thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
His disciples answered, “You can see the crowd pressing in on You, and yet You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’”
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with
compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a
shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
When Jesus
stepped ashore and saw a large
crowd, He had
compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a
shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.
Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and
buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
Dismiss the
crowd so they can go to the surrounding
countryside and villages and
buy themselves something to eat.”
Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go on
ahead of Him to
Bethsaida, while He dismissed the
crowd.
And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them,
Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
Once again Jesus called the
crowd to Him and said, “All of you,
listen to Me and understand:
And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
After Jesus had left the crowd and gone into the house, His disciples inquired about the parable.
And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he
spit, and touched his tongue;
So Jesus took him aside privately, away from the
crowd, and put His fingers into the man’s ears. Then He
spit and touched the man’s tongue.
In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
In those days the crowd once again became very large, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples to Him and said,
I have
compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
“I have
compassion for this
crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven
loaves, and gave
thanks, and
brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
And He
instructed the
crowd to sit down on the ground. Then He took the seven
loaves, gave
thanks and broke them, and gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And they distributed them to the
crowd.
And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
And about four thousand men were present. As soon as Jesus had dismissed the crowd,
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them,
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Then Jesus called the
crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If
anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the
scribes questioning with them.
When they returned to the other disciples, they saw a large
crowd around them, and
scribes arguing with them.
And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a
dumb spirit;
Someone in the
crowd replied, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a spirit that makes him
mute.
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he
rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou
dumb and
deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
When Jesus saw that a
crowd had come running, He
rebuked the unclean spirit. “You
deaf and
mute spirit,” He said, “I command you to come out and never enter him again.”
And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was
wont, he taught them again.
Then Jesus left that place and went into the region of
Judea, beyond the Jordan. Again the
crowds came to Him and He taught them, as was His custom.
And they came to
Jericho: and as he went out of
Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the
highway side
begging.
Next, they came to
Jericho. And as Jesus and His disciples were leaving
Jericho with a large
crowd, a blind
beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road.
And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
Many in the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields.
And the
scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was
astonished at his doctrine.
When the chief priests and
scribes heard this, they looked for a way to kill Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole
crowd was
astonished at His teaching.
And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
At this, the leaders sought to arrest Jesus, for they knew that He had spoken this parable against them. But fearing the crowd, they left Him and went away.
David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him
gladly.
David himself calls Him ‘Lord.’ So how can He be David’s son?” And the large
crowd listened to Him with delight.
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and
beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
As Jesus was sitting opposite the treasury, He watched the crowd putting money into it. And many rich people put in large amounts.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at
midnight, or at the
cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know when the master of the house will return—whether in the evening, at
midnight, when the
rooster crows, or in the morning.
And Jesus saith unto him,
Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the
cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me
thrice.
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “this very night, before the
rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”
And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh
Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and
staves, from the chief priest and the
scribes and the elders.
While Jesus was still speaking,
Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a
crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests,
scribes, and elders.
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a
thief, with swords and with
staves to take me?
Jesus asked the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw?
But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the
porch; and the
cock crew.
But he denied it. “I do not know or even understand what you are talking about,” he said. Then he went out to the
gateway, and the
rooster crowed.
And the second time the
cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the
cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me
thrice. And when he thought
thereon, he
wept.
And immediately the
rooster crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the
rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he broke down and
wept.
And the multitude crying
aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.
So the
crowd went up and began asking
Pilate to keep his custom.
But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
But the chief priests
stirred up the
crowd to have him release Barabbas to them instead.
And so
Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had
scourged him, to be
crucified.
And wishing to satisfy the
crowd,
Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus
flogged, and handed Him over to be
crucified.
And they clothed him with purple, and
platted a
crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
They dressed Him in a purple
robe, twisted together a
crown of thorns, and set it on His head.
Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be
baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath
warned you to
flee from the wrath to come?
Then John said to the
crowds coming out to be
baptized by him, “You
brood of vipers, who
warned you to
flee from the coming wrath?
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”
But he passing through the midst of them went his way,
But Jesus passed through the crowd and went on His way.
And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
At
daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place, and the
crowds were looking for Him. They came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving.
And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
On one occasion, while Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret with the crowd pressing in on Him to hear the word of God,
But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be
healed by him of their
infirmities.
But the news about Jesus spread all the more, and great
crowds came to hear Him and to be
healed of their sicknesses.
And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the
tiling with his
couch into the midst before Jesus.
but they could not find a way through the
crowd. So they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the
tiles into the middle of the
crowd, right in front of Jesus.
And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.
Then Levi hosted a great
banquet for Jesus at his house. A large
crowd of tax collectors was there, along with others who were eating with them.
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be
healed of their diseases;
Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place. A large
crowd of His disciples was there, along with a great number of people from all over
Judea, Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and
healed them all.
The entire
crowd was trying to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and
healing them all.
When Jesus heard these things, he
marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
When Jesus heard this, He
marveled at the
centurion. Turning to the
crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called
Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called
Nain. His disciples went with Him, accompanied by a large
crowd.
Now when he came
nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
As He approached the town gate, He saw a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed
shaken with the wind?
After John’s messengers had left, Jesus began to speak to the
crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed
swaying in the wind?
And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, He told them this parable:
Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him, but they were unable to reach Him because of the crowd.
And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people
gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
When Jesus returned, the
crowd welcomed Him, for they had all been waiting for Him.
For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people
thronged him.
because his only daughter, who was about twelve, was dying. As Jesus went with him, the crowds pressed around Him,
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude
throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked. But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.”
And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and
healed them that had need of
healing.
But the
crowds found out and followed Him. He
welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and He
healed those who needed
healing.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and
lodge, and get
victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
As the day neared its end, the Twelve came to Jesus and said, “Dismiss the
crowd so they can go to the surrounding villages and
countryside for
lodging and provisions. For we are in a
desolate place here.”
And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
One day as Jesus was praying in private and the disciples were with Him, He questioned them: “Who do the crowds say I am?”
And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
The next day, when they came down from the mountain, Jesus was met by a large crowd.
And, behold, a man of the company
cried out, saying, Master, I
beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
Suddenly a man in the
crowd cried out, “Teacher, I
beg You to look at my son, for he is my only child.
And he was casting out a devil, and it was
dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the
dumb spake; and the people wondered.
One day Jesus was driving out a
demon that was
mute. And when the
demon was gone, the man who had been
mute spoke. The
crowds were
amazed,
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the
womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast
sucked.
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the
crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the
womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that
nursed You!”
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of
Jonas the prophet.
As the
crowds were increasing, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of
Jonah.
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people,
insomuch that they
trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,
Beware ye of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
In the meantime, a
crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were
trampling one another. Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “
Beware of the
leaven of the
Pharisees, which is
hypocrisy.
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west,
straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
Then Jesus said to the crowds, “As soon as you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and that is what happens.
And the ruler of the
synagogue answered with
indignation, because that Jesus had
healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be
healed, and not on the sabbath day.
But the
synagogue leader was
indignant that Jesus had
healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the
crowd. “So come and be
healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”
And when he had said these things, all his
adversaries were
ashamed: and all the people
rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
