And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
Pharaoh answered, “I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
For if thou refuse to let them go, and
wilt hold them still,
But if you continue to restrain them and refuse to let them go,
And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a
boil breaking
forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
It will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and
festering boils will break out on man and beast throughout the land.”
And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses
sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a
boil breaking
forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
So they took
soot from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses
tossed it into the air, and
festering boils broke out on man and beast.
And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils;
for the
boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
The magicians could not stand before Moses, because the boils had broken out on them and on all the Egyptians.
For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
Otherwise, I will send all My plagues against you and your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like Me in all the earth.
For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may
smite thee and thy people with
pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
For by this time I could have stretched out My hand and struck you and your people with a plague to
wipe you off the earth.
And in very deed
for this cause have I raised thee up,
for to
shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power to you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field;
for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the
hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
So give orders now to shelter your
livestock and everything you have in the field. Every man or beast that remains in the field and is not brought inside will die when the
hail comes down upon them.’”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch
forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every
herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that
hail may fall on all the land of Egypt—on man and beast and every plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.”
And Moses stretched
forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained
hail upon the land of Egypt.
So Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the LORD sent
thunder and
hail, and
lightning struck the earth. So the LORD rained down
hail upon the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh sent, and called
for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have
sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. “This time I have
sinned,” he said. “The LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
Intreat the LORD (
for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and
hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
Pray to the LORD,
for there has been enough of God’s
thunder and
hail. I will let you go; you do not need to stay any longer.”
But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.
But as for you and your officials, I know that you still do not fear the LORD our God.”
And the flax and the barley was
smitten:
for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was
bolled.
(Now the flax and barley were destroyed, since the barley was ripe and the flax was in
bloom;
But the wheat and the
rie were not
smitten:
for they were not grown up.
but the wheat and
spelt were not destroyed, because they are late crops.)
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh:
for I have
hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might
shew these my signs before him:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh,
for I have
hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials, that I may perform these
miraculous signs of Mine among them,
And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the
hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth
for you out of the field:
They will cover the face of the land so that no one can see it. They will
devour whatever is left after the
hail and eat every tree that grows in your fields.
And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
“We will go with our young and old,” Moses replied. “We will go with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, for we must hold a feast to the LORD.”
And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
Then Pharaoh told them, “May the LORD be with you if I ever let you go with your little ones. Clearly you are bent on evil.
Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.
No, only the men may go and worship the LORD, since that is what you have been requesting.” And Moses and Aaron were driven from Pharaoh’s presence.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt
for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every
herb of the land, even all that the
hail hath left.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may
swarm over it and
devour every plant in the land—everything that the
hail has left behind.”
And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
So Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and throughout that day and night the LORD sent an east wind across the land. By morning the east wind had brought the locusts.
For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was
darkened; and they did eat every
herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the
hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
They covered the face of all the land until it was black, and they consumed all the plants on the ground and all the fruit on the trees that the
hail had left behind. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.
Then Pharaoh called
for Moses and Aaron in
haste; and he said, I have
sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have
sinned against the LORD your God and against you.
Now therefore
forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
Now please
forgive my sin once more and appeal to the LORD your God, that He may remove this death from me.”
And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and total darkness covered all the land of Egypt for three days.
They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
No one could see
anyone else, and
for three days no one left his place. Yet all the Israelites had light in their dwellings.
Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an
hoof be left behind;
for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
Even our
livestock must go with us; not a
hoof will be left behind,
for we will need some of them to worship the LORD our God, and we will not know how we are to worship the LORD until we arrive.”
And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take
heed to
thyself, see my face no more;
for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
“Depart from me!” Pharaoh said to Moses. “Make sure you never see my face again, for on the day you see my face, you will die.”
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man
borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
Now
announce to the people that men and women alike should ask their neighbors
for articles of silver and gold.”
This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
“This month is the beginning of months for you; it shall be the first month of your year.
Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
Tell the whole congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man must select a lamb for his family, one per household.
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
If the household is too small
for a whole lamb, they are to share with the nearest
neighbor based on the number of people, and
apportion the lamb accordingly.
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins
girded, your
shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in
haste: it is the LORD’S
passover.
This is how you are to eat it: You must be fully dressed
for travel, with your
sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. You are to eat in
haste; it is the LORD’s
Passover.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will
smite all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will
execute judgment: I am the LORD.
On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every
firstborn male, both man and beast, and I will
execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
And the blood shall be to you
for a
token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I
smite the land of Egypt.
The blood on the houses where you are staying will distinguish them; when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No plague will fall on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
And this day shall be unto you
for a
memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an
ordinance for ever.
And this day will be a
memorial for you, and you are to
celebrate it as a feast to the LORD, as a permanent statute
for the generations to come.
Seven days shall ye eat
unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away
leaven out of your houses:
for whosoever eateth
leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
For seven days you must eat
unleavened bread. On the first day you are to remove the
leaven from your houses.
Whoever eats anything
leavened from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel.
And ye shall observe the feast of
unleavened bread;
for in this
selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an
ordinance for ever.
So you are to keep the Feast of
Unleavened Bread,
for on this very day I brought your divisions out of the land of Egypt. You must keep this day as a permanent statute
for the generations to come.
Seven days shall there be no
leaven found in your houses:
for whosoever eateth that which is
leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
For seven days there must be no
leaven found in your houses. If
anyone eats something
leavened, that person, whether a
foreigner or native of the land, must be cut off from the congregation of Israel.
Then Moses called
for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the
passover.
Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and told them, “Go at once and select
for yourselves a lamb
for each family, and slaughter the
Passover lamb.
For the LORD will pass through to
smite the Egyptians; and when he
seeth the blood upon the
lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to
smite you.
When the LORD passes through to strike down the Egyptians, He will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that
doorway; so He will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.
And ye shall observe this thing
for an
ordinance to thee and to thy sons
for ever.
And you are to keep this command as a permanent statute for you and your descendants.
And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
During the night Pharaoh got up—he and all his officials and all the Egyptians—and there was loud
wailing in Egypt;
for there was no house without someone dead.
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron by night and said, “Get up, leave my people, both you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested.
And the Egyptians were
urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in
haste;
for they said, We be all dead men.
And in order to send them out of the land quickly, the Egyptians urged the people on. “For otherwise,” they said, “we are all going to die!”
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and
raiment:
Furthermore, the Israelites acted on Moses’ word and asked the Egyptians
for articles of silver and gold, and
for clothing.
And they
baked unleavened cakes of the
dough which they brought
forth out of Egypt,
for it was not
leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not
tarry, neither had they prepared
for themselves any
victual.
Since their
dough had no
leaven, the people
baked what they had brought out of Egypt into
unleavened loaves.
For when they had been driven out of Egypt, they could not delay and had not prepared any provisions
for themselves.
It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
Because the LORD kept a
vigil that night to bring them out of the land of Egypt, this same night is to be a
vigil to the LORD, to be observed by all the Israelites
for the generations to come.
And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the
ordinance of the
passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the statute of the
Passover: No
foreigner is to eat of it.
But every man’s servant that is bought
for money, when thou hast
circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
But any slave who has been purchased may eat of it, after you have
circumcised him.
A
foreigner and an
hired servant shall not eat thereof.
In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
It must be eaten inside one house. You are not to take any of the meat outside the house, and you may not break any of the bones.
And when a stranger shall
sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD, let all his males be
circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land:
for no
uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
One law shall be to him that is
homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
The same law shall apply to both the native and the foreigner who resides among you.”
And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of
bondage;
for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no
leavened bread be eaten.
So Moses told the people, “Remember this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
for the LORD brought you out of it by the strength of His hand. And nothing
leavened shall be eaten.
Seven days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.
For seven days you are to eat
unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.
And thou shalt
shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came
forth out of Egypt.
And on that day you are to explain to your son, ‘This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’
And it shall be
for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and
for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth:
for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
It shall be a sign
for you on your hand and a reminder on your
forehead that the Law of the LORD is to be on your lips.
For with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
And it shall be
for a
token upon thine hand, and
for frontlets between thine eyes:
for by strength of hand the LORD brought us
forth out of Egypt.
So it shall serve as a sign on your hand and a symbol on your
forehead,
for with a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt.”
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near;
for God said, Lest
peradventure the people
repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, though it was shorter. For God said, “If the people face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up
harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
So God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the Israelites left the land of Egypt
arrayed for battle.
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him:
for he had straitly
sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel
swear a solemn oath when he said, “God will surely attend to you, and then you must carry my bones with you from this place.”
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are
entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, ‘They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.’
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will
shew to you to day:
for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more
for ever.
But Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD’s salvation, which He will
accomplish for you
today;
for the Egyptians you see
today, you will never see again.
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.
But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
And took off their
chariot wheels, that they
drave them
heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us
flee from the face of Israel;
for the LORD fighteth
for them against the Egyptians.
He caused their
chariot wheels to
wobble, so that they had difficulty driving. “Let us
flee from the Israelites,” said the Egyptians, “
for the LORD is fighting
for them against Egypt!”
And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at
daybreak the sea returned to its normal state. As the Egyptians were retreating, the LORD swept them into the sea.
Then
sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD,
for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
Then Moses and the Israelites
sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD,
for He is highly
exalted. The horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.
And in the greatness of thine
excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest
forth thy wrath, which consumed them as
stubble.
You overthrew Your
adversaries by Your great majesty. You unleashed Your burning wrath; it consumed them like
stubble.
Thou in thy mercy hast led
forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy
habitation.
With loving devotion You will lead the people You have redeemed; with Your strength You will guide them to Your holy dwelling.
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance— the place, O LORD, You have prepared for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, Your hands have established.
The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
The LORD will reign
forever and ever!”
For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his
chariots and with his
horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
For when Pharaoh’s horses,
chariots, and
horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them. But the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.
And
Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD,
for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
And
Miriam sang back to them: “Sing to the LORD,
for He is highly
exalted; the horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.”
So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the Desert of Shur. For three days they walked in the desert without finding water.
And when they came to
Marah, they could not drink of the waters of
Marah,
for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called
Marah.
And when they came to
Marah, they could not drink the water there because it was bitter. (That is why it was named
Marah.)
And he
cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made
for them a statute and an
ordinance, and there he proved them,
And Moses
cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a log. And when he cast it into the waters, they were
sweetened. There the LORD made
for them a statute and an
ordinance, and there He tested them,
And said, If thou
wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and
wilt do that which is right in his sight, and
wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians:
for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
saying, “If you will
listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and pay attention to His commands, and keep all His statutes, then I will not bring on you any of the diseases I inflicted on the Egyptians.
For I am the LORD who heals you.”
And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
“If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in the land of Egypt!” they said. “There we sat by pots of meat and
ate our fill of bread, but you have brought us into this desert to
starve this whole assembly to death!”
Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain down bread from heaven for you. Each day the people are to go out and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test whether or not they will follow My instructions.
And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD;
for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye
murmur against us?
and in the morning you will see the LORD’s glory, because He has heard your
grumbling against Him.
For who are we that you should
grumble against us?”
And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full;
for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye
murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
And Moses added, “The LORD will give you meat to eat this evening and bread to fill you in the morning,
for He has heard your
grumbling against Him. Who are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the LORD.”
And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole congregation of Israel, ‘Come before the LORD,
for He has heard your
grumbling.’”
And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is
manna:
for they
wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
When the Israelites saw it, they asked one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. So Moses told them, “It is the bread that the LORD has given you to eat.
This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an
omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man
for them which are in his tents.
This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Each one is to gather as much as he needs. You may take an
omer for each person in your tent.’”
And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much food—two omers per person—and all the leaders of the congregation came and reported this to Moses.
And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To
morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD:
bake that which ye will
bake to day, and
seethe that ye will
seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up
for you to be kept until the morning.
He told them, “This is what the LORD has said: ‘
Tomorrow is to be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD. So
bake what you want to
bake, and
boil what you want to
boil. Then set aside whatever remains and keep it until morning.’”
And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
“Eat it
today,” Moses said, “because
today is a Sabbath to the LORD.
Today you will not find anything in the field.
Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
For six days you may gather, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, it will not be there.”
And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
Yet on the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, but they did not find anything.
See,
for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days;
abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Understand that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day He will give you bread
for two days. On the seventh day,
everyone must stay where he is; no one may leave his place.”
And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an
omer of it to be kept
for your generations; that they may see the bread
wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you
forth from the land of Egypt.
Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: ‘Keep an
omer of
manna for the generations to come, so that they may see the bread I fed you in the wilderness when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’”
And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an
omer full of
manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept
for your generations.
So Moses told Aaron, “Take a
jar and fill it with an
omer of
