And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of
Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah:
On the first day Nahshon son of
Amminadab from the tribe of Judah drew near with his offering.
This was the
dedication of the altar, in the day when it was
anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver
bowls, twelve spoons of gold:
So these were the offerings
from the leaders of Israel for the
dedication of the altar when it was
anointed: twelve silver platters, twelve silver
bowls, and twelve gold dishes.
And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.
When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard the voice speaking to him
from between the two
cherubim above the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony. Thus the LORD spoke to him.
And this work of the
candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the
candlestick.
This is how the lampstand was constructed: it was made of hammered gold from its base to its blossoms, fashioned according to the pattern the LORD had shown Moses.
Take the Levites
from among the children of Israel, and
cleanse them.
“Take the Levites
from among the Israelites and make them
ceremonially clean.
And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may
execute the service of the LORD.
Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the sons of Israel, so that they may perform the service of the LORD.
Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
In this way you shall separate the Levites from the rest of the Israelites, and the Levites will belong to Me.
For they are wholly given unto me
from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every
womb, even instead of the
firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
For the Levites have been wholly given to Me
from among the sons of Israel. I have taken them for Myself in place of all who come first
from the
womb, the
firstborn of all the sons of Israel.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons
from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an
atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come
nigh unto the sanctuary.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons
from among the Israelites, to perform the service for the Israelites at the Tent of Meeting and to make
atonement on their behalf, so that no plague will come against the Israelites when they approach the sanctuary.”
This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
“This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years of age or older shall enter to perform the service in the work at the Tent of Meeting.
And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
But at the age of fifty, they must retire from performing the work and no longer serve.
And those men said unto him, We are
defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel?
and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the
passover, even the same soul shall be cut off
from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
But if a man who is
ceremonially clean and is not on a journey still fails to observe the
Passover, he must be cut off
from his people, because he did not present the LORD’s offering at its appointed time. That man will bear the consequences of his sin.
And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
On the day that the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it and appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning.
And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.
And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. Whether it was by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up, they would set out.
And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an
alarm with the
trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved
from your enemies.
When you enter into battle in your land against an
adversary who attacks you, sound short blasts on the
trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God and saved
from your enemies.
And it came to pass on the
twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up
from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
On the
twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud was lifted
from above the tabernacle of the Testimony,
And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of
Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of
Paran.
and the Israelites set out
from the Wilderness of
Sinai, traveling
from place to place until the cloud settled in the Wilderness of
Paran.
And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
So they set out on a three-day journey
from the mountain of the LORD, with the ark of the covenant of the LORD traveling
ahead of them for those three days to seek a resting place for them.
And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
And the cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they set out from the camp.
And when the people
complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was
kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the
uttermost parts of the camp.
Soon the people began to
complain about their
hardship in the hearing of the LORD, and when He heard them, His anger was
kindled, and fire
from the LORD
blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.
And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
Now a wind sent by the LORD came up, drove in
quail from the sea, and brought them near the camp, about two cubits above the surface of the ground, for a day’s journey in every direction around the camp.
And the people journeyed
from Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
From Kibroth-hattaavah the people moved on to Hazeroth, where they remained for some time.
And the cloud departed
from off the tabernacle; and, behold,
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon
Miriam, and, behold, she was
leprous.
As the cloud lifted
from above the Tent, suddenly
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was
leprous,
And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but
spit in her face, should she not be
ashamed seven days? let her be shut out
from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
But the LORD answered Moses, “If her father had but
spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; after that she may be brought back in.”
And
Miriam was shut out
from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till
Miriam was brought in again.
So
Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought in again.
And afterward the people removed
from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of
Paran.
After that, the people set out
from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of
Paran.
Send thou men, that they may search the land of
Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
“Send out for
yourself men to
spy out the land of
Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites.
From each of their fathers’ tribes send one man who is a leader among them.”
And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them
from the wilderness of
Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.
So at the consent of the LORD, Moses sent them out
from the Wilderness of
Paran. All the men were leaders of the Israelites,
And these were their names: of the tribe of
Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.
and these were their names:
From the tribe of
Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;
Of the tribe of
Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.
from the tribe of
Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;
Of the tribe of Judah,
Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
from the tribe of Judah,
Caleb son of Jephunneh;
Of the tribe of
Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
from the tribe of
Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of
Nun.
from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of
Nun;
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.
from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
Of the tribe of
Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.
from the tribe of
Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of
Manasseh,
Gaddi the son of Susi.
from the tribe of
Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph),
Gaddi son of Susi;
Of the tribe of
Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
from the tribe of
Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.
from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
Of the tribe of
Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.
from the tribe of
Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
Of the tribe of
Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
and
from the tribe of
Gad, Geuel son of Machi.
So they went up, and searched the land
from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to
Hamath.
So they went up and
spied out the land
from the Wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo-
hamath.
And they came unto the
brook of
Eshcol, and cut down
from thence a branch with one
cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
When they came to the Valley of
Eshcol, they cut down a branch with a single
cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two men. They also took some pomegranates and figs.
The place was called the
brook Eshcol, because of the
cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down
from thence.
Because of the
cluster of grapes the Israelites cut there, that place was called the Valley of
Eshcol.
And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
After forty days the men returned
from spying out the land,
And there we saw the giants, the sons of
Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
We even saw the
Nephilim there—the descendants of
Anak that come
from the
Nephilim! We seemed like grasshoppers in our own sight, and we must have seemed the same to them!”
Only
rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed
from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
Only do not
rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the land, for they will be like bread for us. Their protection has been removed, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them!”
And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)
But Moses said to the LORD, “The Egyptians will hear of it, for by Your strength You brought this people from among them.
Pardon, I
beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast
forgiven this people,
from Egypt even until now.
Pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this people, in keeping with the greatness of Your loving devotion, just as You have
forgiven them ever since they left Egypt.”
Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number,
from twenty years old and upward, which have
murmured against me,
Your bodies will fall in this wilderness—all who were numbered in the census,
everyone twenty years of age or older—because you have grumbled against Me.
For the
Amalekites and the
Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away
from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.
For there the
Amalekites and
Canaanites will face you, and you will fall by the sword. Because you have turned away
from the LORD, He will not be with you.”
But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.
But they
dared to go up to the ridge of the hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the covenant of the LORD moved
from the camp.
And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD
from the
herd or flock to produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, for a special
vow or
freewill offering or appointed feast—
Ye shall offer up a
cake of the first of your
dough for an
heave offering: as ye do the
heave offering of the threshingfloor, so shall ye
heave it.
From the first of your
dough, you are to lift up a
cake as a contribution; offer it just like an offering
from the
threshing floor.
Of the first of your
dough ye shall give unto the LORD an
heave offering in your generations.
Throughout your generations, you are to give the LORD an offering
from the first of your
dough.
Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses,
from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and
henceforward among your generations;
all that the LORD has commanded you through Moses from the day the LORD gave them and continuing through the generations to come—
But the soul that doeth ought
presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off
from among his people.
But the person who sins defiantly, whether a native or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD. That person shall be cut off from among his people.
Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
Is it not enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel and brought you near to Himself to perform the work at the LORD’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?
And Moses was very
wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one
ass from them, neither have I
hurt one of them.
Then Moses became very
angry and said to the LORD, “Do not regard their offering. I have not taken one
donkey from them or mistreated a single one of them.”
Separate
yourselves from among this congregation, that I may
consume them in a moment.
“Separate
yourselves from this congregation so that I may
consume them in an instant.”
Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up
from about the tabernacle of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram.
“Tell the congregation to move away
from the dwellings of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram.”
And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
And he
warned the congregation, “Move away now
from the tents of these wicked men. Do not touch anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.”
So they
gat up
from the tabernacle of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and
Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
So they moved away
from the dwellings of
Korah, Dathan, and
Abiram. Meanwhile, Dathan and
Abiram had come out and stood at the entrances to their tents with their wives and children and infants.
They, and all that
appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished
from among the congregation.
They went down alive into
Sheol with all they owned. The earth closed over them, and they
vanished from the assembly.
And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
And fire came forth from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers
from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
Get you up
from among this congregation, that I may
consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
“Get away
from this congregation so that I may
consume them in an instant.” And Moses and Aaron fell facedown.
And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a
censer, and put fire therein
from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an
atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out
from the LORD; the plague is begun.
Moses said to Aaron, “Take your
censer, place fire
from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the congregation and make
atonement for them, because wrath has come out
from the LORD; the plague has begun.”
Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of
Korah.
But those who died
from the plague numbered 14,700, in addition to those who had died on account of
Korah.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.
“Speak to the Israelites and take from them twelve staffs, one from the leader of each tribe. Write each man’s name on his staff,
And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall
blossom: and I will make to cease
from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they
murmur against you.
The staff belonging to the man I choose will
sprout, and I will rid Myself of the constant
grumbling of the Israelites against you.”
And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD’s presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a
token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings
from me, that they die not.
The LORD said to Moses, “Put Aaron’s staff back in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign for the
rebellious, so that you may put an end to their
grumbling against Me, lest they die.”
And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
But bring with you also your brothers from the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and assist you and your sons before the Tent of the Testimony.
And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Behold, I Myself have selected your fellow Levites from the Israelites as a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD to perform the service for the Tent of Meeting.
This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved
from the fire: every
oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every
trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.
A portion of the most holy offerings reserved from the fire will be yours. From all the offerings they render to Me as most holy offerings, whether grain offerings or sin offerings or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.
And those that are to be redeemed
from a month old shalt thou
redeem, according to thine
estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
You are to pay the
redemption price for a month-old male according to your
valuation: five shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary
shekel, which is twenty gerahs.
Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the
tithes which I have given you
from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an
heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the
tithe.
“Speak to the Levites and tell them: ‘When you receive
from the Israelites the
tithe that I have given you as your inheritance, you must present part of it as an offering to the LORD—a
tithe of the
tithe.
And this your
heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the
fulness of the winepress.
Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain
from the
threshing floor or juice
from the winepress.
Thus ye also shall offer an
heave offering unto the LORD of all your
tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the LORD’S
heave offering to Aaron the priest.
So you are to present an offering to the LORD
from all the
tithes you receive
from the Israelites, and
from these you are to give the LORD’s offering to Aaron the priest.
Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the
hallowed part thereof out of it.
You must present the offering due the LORD from all the best of every gift, the holiest part of it.’
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have
heaved the best thereof
from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Therefore say to the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the produce of the
threshing floor or winepress.
And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have
heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye
pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
Once you have presented the best part of it, you will not
incur guilt because of it. But you must not
defile the sacred offerings of the Israelites, or else you will die.’”
And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the
heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a
purification for sin.
Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off
from Israel: because the water of separation was not
sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
Anyone who touches a human
corpse and fails to
purify himself defiles the tabernacle of the LORD. That person must be cut off
from Israel. He remains unclean, because the water of
purification has not been
sprinkled on him, and his uncleanness is still on him.
But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not
purify himself, that soul shall be cut off
from among the congregation, because he hath
defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been
sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
But if a person who is unclean does not
purify himself, he will be cut off
from the assembly, because he has
defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. The water of
purification has not been
sprinkled on him; he is unclean.
And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. They fell facedown, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them.
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
“Take the staff and
assemble the congregation. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will pour out its water. You will bring out water
from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their
livestock.”
And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
So Moses took the staff from the LORD’s presence, just as he had been commanded.
And Moses sent messengers
from Kadesh unto the king of
Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the
travail that hath
befallen us:
From Kadesh, Moses sent messengers to tell the king of
Edom, “This is what your brother Israel says: You know all the
hardship that has
befallen us,
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water
from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
Thus
Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away
from him.
So
Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through their territory, and Israel turned away
from them.
And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed
from Kadesh, and came unto mount
Hor.
After they had set out
from Kadesh, the whole congregation of Israel came to Mount
Hor.
And Moses
stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon
Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and
Eleazar came down
from the mount.
After Moses had removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son
Eleazar, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and
Eleazar came down
from the mountain.
And they journeyed
from mount
Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of
Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Then they set out
from Mount
Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the land of
Edom. But the people grew impatient on the journey
Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have
sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents
from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have
sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you.
Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away
from us.” So Moses
interceded for the people.
And they journeyed
from Oboth, and pitched at Ije-abarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the
sunrising.
They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.
From thence they removed, and pitched in the valley of Zared.
From there they set out and camped in the Valley of Zered.
From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of
Arnon, which is in the wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the
Amorites: for
Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the
Amorites.
From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the
Arnon, in the wilderness that extends into the Amorite territory. Now the
Arnon is the border between the Moabites and the
Amorites.
