Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be
bereaved of my children, I am

Only take
heed to
thyself, and keep thy soul
diligently, lest thou
forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
Only be on your guard and
diligently watch
yourselves, so that you do not
forget the things your eyes have seen, and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and
grandchildren.
When thou shalt
beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt
yourselves, and make a
graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to
provoke him to anger:
After you have children and
grandchildren and you have been in the land a long time, if you then act corruptly and make an

cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and
shew thee mercy, and have
compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers;
Nothing devoted to destruction shall

For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.

Then the men of Israel said unto
Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of
Midian.
Then the Israelites said to
Gideon, “Rule over us—you and your son and
grandson—for you have saved us from the hand of
Midian.”
Wilt not thou possess that which
Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So
whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.
Do you not possess whatever your god
Chemosh grants you? So also, we possess whatever the LORD our God has
granted us.

The LORD
grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she
kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and
wept.
May the LORD enable each of you to find rest in the home of your new husband.” And she
kissed them as they
wept aloud Then
Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel
grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
“Go in peace,”
Eli replied, “and may the God of Israel
grant the petition you have asked of Him.”
For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
I prayed for this boy, and since the LORD has granted me what I asked of Him,
So David received of her hand that which she had brought him, and said unto her, Go up in peace to thine house; see, I have
hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.
Then David accepted from her hand what she had brought him, and he said to her, “Go home in peace. See, I have
heeded your voice and
granted your request.”
And they brought the head of
Ish-bosheth unto David to
Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of
Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the LORD hath
avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
They brought the head of
Ish-bosheth to David at
Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of
Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who sought your life.
Today the LORD has
granted vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely
shew thee kindness for
Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
“Do not be afraid,” said David, “for surely I will show you kindness for the sake of your father
Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land of your
grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”
Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that
pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “I have given to your master’s grandson all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread
alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy
handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his
handmaid.
Now therefore, I have come to present this matter to my lord the king because the people have made me afraid. Your servant thought, ‘I will speak to the king. Perhaps he will
grant the request of his
maidservant.
And the king said unto
Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man
Absalom again.
Then the king said to
Joab, “I
hereby grant this request. Go, bring back the young man
Absalom.”
And
Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and
thanked the king: and
Joab said,
Today thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
Joab fell facedown in
homage and blessed the king. “
Today,” said
Joab, “your servant knows that he has found favor with you, my lord the king, because the king has
granted his request.”
And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said,
Today shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
“Where is your master’s
grandson?” asked the king. And Ziba answered, “Indeed, he is staying in Jerusalem, for he has said, ‘
Today, the house of Israel will restore to me the kingdom of my
grandfather.’”
And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor
trimmed his
beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.
Then Mephibosheth, Saul’s
grandson, went down to meet the king. He had not cared for his feet or
trimmed his
mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king had left until the day he returned safely.
For all of my father’s house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet
didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king?
For all the house of my
grandfather deserves death from my lord the king, yet you have set your servant among those who eat at your table. What further right, then, do I have to keep appealing to the king?”
May You
forgive Your people who have
sinned against You and all the transgressions they have committed against You, and may You
grant them
compassion in the eyes of their captors to show them mercy.
And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. His
grandmother’s name was

So these nations feared the LORD, and served their
graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
So these nations worshiped the LORD but also served their idols, and to this day their children and grandchildren continue to do as their fathers did.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest
bless me indeed, and
enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not
grieve me! And God
granted him that which he requested.
And Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only You would
bless me and
enlarge my territory! May Your hand be with me and keep me from
harm, so that I will be free from pain.” And God
granted the request of Jabez.
And the sons of Ulam were mighty men of valour, archers, and had many sons, and sons’ sons, an hundred and fifty. All these are of the sons of Benjamin.
Ulam was his
firstborn, Jeush second, and Eliphelet third. The sons of Ulam were mighty men of
valor, archers, and they had many sons and
grandsons—150 in all. All these were the descendants of Benjamin.
Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.
Then David said to Ornan, “
Grant me the site of this
threshing floor, that I may build an altar to the LORD. Sell it to me for the full price, so that the plague upon the people may be
halted.”
Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
But a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name will be Solomon, and I will grant to Israel peace and quiet during his reign.
Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
“Is not the LORD your God with you, and has He not granted you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land has been subdued before the LORD and His people.
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
Now
grant me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may lead this people. For who is able to
govern this great people of Yours?”
Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
therefore wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will also give you riches and wealth and honor unlike anything given to the kings before you or after you.”
And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will
grant them some
deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of
Shishak.
When the LORD saw that they had humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them, but will soon
grant them
deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through
Shishak.
And also concerning Maachah the mother of
Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an
idol in a

Asa cut down her
idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the
brook Kidron.
Forty and two years old was
Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was
Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem one year. His mother’s name was
Athaliah, the
granddaughter of Omri.
And he sought
Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was
hid in Samaria,) and brought him to
Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of
Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
Then
Jehu looked for
Ahaziah, and
Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So
Ahaziah was brought to
Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the
grandson of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of
Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.
They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring

This
Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready
scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king
granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
this
Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a
scribe skilled in the Law of Moses, which the LORD, the God of Israel, had given. The king had
granted Ezra all his requests, for the hand of the LORD his God was upon him.
So we fasted and
besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He granted our request.
O Lord, I
beseech thee, let now thine ear be
attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and
prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and
grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s
cupbearer.
O Lord, may Your ear be
attentive to my prayer and to the prayers of Your servants who delight to
revere Your name. Give Your servant success this day, I pray, and
grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” (At that time I was the
cupbearer to the king.)
Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;
I also said to him, “If it pleases the king, may letters be given to me for the governors west of the Euphrates, so that they will grant me safe passage until I reach Judah.
And a letter unto
Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which
appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king
granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
And may I have a letter to
Asaph, keeper of the king’s forest, so that he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house I will occupy.” And because the
gracious hand of my God was upon me, the king
granted my requests.
Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will
prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor
memorial, in Jerusalem.
So I answered them and said, “The God of heaven is the One who will grant us success. We, His servants, will start rebuilding, but you have no portion, right, or claim in Jerusalem.”
And the king said unto
Esther at the
banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be
granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.
And as they
drank their wine, the king said to
Esther, “What is your petition? It will be given to you. What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be fulfilled.”
If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to
grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and
Haman come to the
banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to
morrow as the king hath said.
If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to
grant my petition and
fulfill my request, may the king and
Haman come
tomorrow to the
banquet I will prepare for them. Then I will answer the king’s question.”
And the king said again unto
Esther on the second day at the
banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen
Esther? and it shall be
granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
and as they
drank their wine on that second day, the king asked once more, “Queen
Esther, what is your petition? It will be given to you. What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be fulfilled.”
Then
Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
Queen
Esther replied, “If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king,
grant me my life as my petition, and the lives of my people as my request.
Wherein the king
granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to
slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would
assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the
spoil of them for a prey,
By these letters the king permitted the Jews in each and every city the right to
assemble and defend themselves, to destroy, kill, and
annihilate all the forces of any people or province hostile to them, including women and children, and to
plunder their possessions.
And the king said unto
Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in
Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of
Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be
granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done.
who said to Queen
Esther, “In the citadel of
Susa the Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men, including
Haman’s ten sons. What have they done in the rest of the royal provinces? Now what is your petition? It will be given to you. And what further do you request? It will be fulfilled.”
Then said
Esther, If it please the king, let it be
granted to the Jews which are in
Shushan to do to
morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let
Haman’s ten sons be
hanged upon the
gallows.
Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
If only my request were
granted and God would
fulfill my hope:
Thou hast
granted me life and favour, and thy
visitation hath preserved my spirit.
You have granted me life and loving devotion, and Your care has preserved my spirit.
Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.
Only grant these two things to me, so that I need not hide from You:
He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
He does not keep the wicked alive, but He
grants justice to the
afflicted.
And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
No women as beautiful as Job’s daughters could be found in all the land, and their father granted them an inheritance among their brothers.
Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
We will
rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.
May we
shout for joy at your victory and raise a
banner in the name of our God. May the LORD
grant all your petitions.
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not
withholden the request of his lips.
Selah.
You have
granted his heart’s desire and have not
withheld the request of his lips.
Selah He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
He asked You for life, and You
granted it— length of days,
forever and ever.
For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding
glad with thy countenance.
For You
grant him blessings
forever; You
cheer him with joy in Your presence.
Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and
grant us thy salvation.
Show us Your loving devotion, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.
O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine
handmaid.
Turn to me and have mercy;
grant Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your
maidservant.
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of
adversity, until the pit be
digged for the wicked.
to
grant him relief from days of trouble, until a pit is
dug for the wicked.
And he gave them their request; but sent
leanness into their soul.
So He granted their request, but sent a wasting disease upon them.
Remove from me the way of lying: and
grant me thy law
graciously.
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked
device; lest they
exalt themselves.
Selah.
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not promote their evil plans, lest they be
exalted.
Selah The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
What the wicked man dreads will overtake him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of a son is his father.
I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not
tarry: and I will place salvation in
Zion for Israel my glory.
I am bringing My righteousness near; it is not far away, and My salvation will not be delayed. I will
grant salvation to
Zion and
adorn Israel with My
splendor.
As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit will not depart from you, and My words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth or from the mouths of your children and grandchildren, from now on and forevermore,” says the LORD.
