And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that
hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open
firmament of heaven.
And God said, “Let the waters
teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open
expanse of the sky.”
Now the serpent was more
subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman,
Yea,
hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Now the serpent was more
crafty than any beast of the field that the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
but about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You must not eat of it or touch it, or you will die.’”
And now art thou
cursed from the earth, which
hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
Now you are
cursed and banished from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name
Seth: For God, said she,
hath appointed me another seed instead of
Abel, whom
Cain slew.
And Adam again had relations with his wife, and she gave birth to a son and named him
Seth, saying, “God has granted me another seed in place of
Abel, since
Cain killed him.”
And he called his name
Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and
toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD
hath cursed.
And he named him
Noah, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and
toil of our hands caused by the ground that the LORD has
cursed.”
And blessed be the most high God, which
hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him
tithes of all.
and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then
Abram gave
Melchizedek a tenth of everything.
And Sarai said unto
Abram, Behold now, the LORD
hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my
maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And
Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
So Sarai said to
Abram, “Look now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go to my
maidservant; perhaps I can build a family by her.” And
Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name
Ishmael; because the LORD
hath heard thy
affliction.
The angel of the LORD proceeded: “Behold, you have conceived and will bear a son. And you shall name him
Ishmael, for the LORD has heard your cry of
affliction.
But if any male is not
circumcised, he will be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
For I have chosen him, so that he will command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has promised.”
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is
waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD
hath sent us to destroy it.
because we are about to destroy this place. For the outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that He has sent us to destroy it.”
Behold now, thy servant
hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast
magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
Your servant has indeed found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness by
sparing my life. But I cannot run to the mountains; the
disaster will overtake me, and I will die.
And
Sarah said, God
hath made me to
laugh, so that all that hear will
laugh with me.
And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be
grievous in thy sight because of the
lad, and because of thy
bondwoman; in all that
Sarah hath said unto thee,
hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed about the boy and your
maidservant.
Listen to everything that
Sarah tells you, for through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.
And God heard the voice of the
lad; and the angel of God called
Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee,
Hagar? fear not; for God
hath heard the voice of the
lad where he is.
Then God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to
Hagar from heaven, “What is wrong,
Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he lies.
And
Abimelech said, I
wot not who
hath done this thing: neither
didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until
today.”
And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she
hath also born children unto thy brother
Nahor;
Some time later, Abraham was told, “Milcah has also borne sons to your brother
Nahor:
That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
to sell me the cave of Machpelah that belongs to him; it is at the end of his field. Let him sell it to me in your presence for full price, so that I may have a burial site.”
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master’s brethren.
saying, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not
withheld His kindness and faithfulness from my master. As for me, the LORD has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.”
And the LORD
hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he
hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and
asses.
“The LORD has greatly blessed my master, and he has become rich. He has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, menservants and maidservants, camels and
donkeys.
And
Sarah my master’s wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him
hath he given all that he
hath.
My master’s wife
Sarah has borne him a son in her old age, and my master has given him everything he owns.
And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master’s son.
and she
replies, ‘Drink, and I will draw water for your camels as well,’ may she be the woman the LORD has appointed for my master’s son.
Behold,
Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master’s son’s wife, as the LORD
hath spoken.
Rebekah is here before you. Take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, just as the LORD has decreed.”
And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD
hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.
But he replied, “Do not delay me, since the LORD has made my journey a success. Send me on my way so that I may go to my master.”
And they blessed
Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which
hate them.
And they blessed
Rebekah and said to her, “Our sister, may you become the mother of thousands upon thousands. May your offspring possess the gates of their enemies.”
And he removed from thence, and
digged another well; and for that they
strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD
hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
He moved on from there and
dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. He named it Rehoboth and said, “At last the LORD has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.”
And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye
hate me, and have sent me away from you?
“Why have you come to me?” Isaac asked them. “You
hated me and sent me away.”
And he came near, and
kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his
raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD
hath blessed:
So he came near and
kissed him. When Isaac smelled his clothing, he blessed him and said: “
Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the LORD has blessed.
And Isaac
trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that
hath taken
venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him?
yea, and he shall be blessed.
Isaac began to
tremble violently and said, “Who was it, then, who
hunted the game and brought it to me? Before you came in, I
ate it all and blessed him—and indeed, he will be blessed!”
And he said, Thy brother came with
subtilty, and
hath taken away thy blessing.
But Isaac replied, “Your brother came
deceitfully and took your blessing.”
And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he
hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my
birthright; and, behold, now he
hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
So
Esau declared, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has
cheated me twice. He took my
birthright, and now he has taken my blessing.” Then he asked, “
Haven’t you saved a blessing for me?”
And
Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing
wherewith his father blessed him: and
Esau said in his heart, The days of
mourning for my father are at hand; then will I
slay my brother Jacob.
Esau held a
grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. And
Esau said in his heart, “The days of
mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”
And when the LORD saw that Leah was
hated, he opened her
womb: but
Rachel was barren.
When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her
womb; but
Rachel was barren.
And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name
Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD
hath looked upon my
affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.
And Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and she named him
Reuben, for she said, “The LORD has seen my
affliction. Surely my husband will love me now.”
And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD
hath heard that I was
hated, he
hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name
Simeon.
Again she conceived and gave birth to a son, and she said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has given me this son as well.” So she named him
Simeon.
Jacob became
angry with
Rachel and said, “Am I in the place of God, who has
withheld children from you?”
And
Rachel said, God
hath judged me, and
hath also heard my voice, and
hath given me a son: therefore called she his name
Dan.
And Leah said, God
hath given me my
hire, because I have given my
maiden to my husband: and she called his name
Issachar.
Then Leah said, “God has rewarded me for giving my
maidservant to my husband.” So she named him
Issachar.
And Leah said, God
hath endued me with a good
dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name
Zebulun.
“God has given me a good gift,” she said. “This time my husband will honor me, because I have borne him six sons.” And she named him
Zebulun.
And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
and she conceived and gave birth to a son. “God has taken away my shame,” she said.
And
Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes,
tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD
hath blessed me for thy sake.
But
Laban replied, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by
divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you.”
For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
Indeed, you had very little before my arrival, but now your wealth has increased many times over. The LORD has blessed you wherever I set foot. But now, when may I also provide for my own household?”
And he heard the words of
Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob
hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s
hath he
gotten all this glory.
Now Jacob heard that
Laban’s sons were saying, “Jacob has taken away all that belonged to our father and built all this wealth at our father’s expense.”
And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
and he told them, “I can see from your father’s countenance that his attitude toward me has changed; but the God of my father has been with me.
And your father
hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to
hurt me.
And although he has
cheated me and changed my wages ten times, God has not allowed him to
harm me.
Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
Thus God has taken away your father’s
livestock and given them to me.
Are we not counted of him strangers? for he
hath sold us, and
hath quite
devoured also our money.
Are we not regarded by him as outsiders? Not only has he sold us, but he has certainly
squandered what was paid for us.
For all the riches which God
hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then,
whatsoever God
hath said unto thee, do.
Surely all the wealth that God has taken away from our father belongs to us and to our children. So do whatever God has told you.”
Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God
hath seen mine
affliction and the labour of my hands, and
rebuked thee
yesternight.
If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, surely by now you would have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my
affliction and the
toil of my hands, and last night He rendered judgment.”
And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God
hath graciously given thy servant.
When
Esau looked up and saw the women and children, he asked, “Who are these with you?” Jacob answered, “These are the children God has
graciously given your servant.”
Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God
hath dealt
graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
Please accept my gift that was brought to you, because God has been
gracious to me and I have all I need.” So Jacob pressed him until he accepted.
And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they
hated him, and could not speak
peaceably unto him.
When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they
hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they
hated him yet the more.
Then Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they
hated him even more.
And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they
hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
“Do you intend to reign over us?” his brothers asked. “Will you actually rule us?” So they
hated him even more because of his dream and his statements.
Come now therefore, and let us
slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast
hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
“Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits. We can say that a
vicious animal has
devoured him. Then we shall see what becomes of his dreams!”
And he knew it, and said, It is my son’s coat; an evil beast
hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces.
His father recognized it and said, “It is my son’s
robe! A
vicious animal has
devoured him. Joseph has surely been
torn to pieces!”
And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law
hath played the
harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by
whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
About three months later, Judah was told, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar has
prostituted herself, and now she is
pregnant.” “Bring her out!” Judah replied. “Let her be burned to death!”
And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.
Judah recognized the items and said, “She is more righteous than I, since I did not give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not have relations with her again.
But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master
wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he
hath committed all that he
hath to my hand;
But he refused. “Look,” he said to his master’s wife, “with me here, my master does not
concern himself with anything in his house, and he has entrusted everything he owns to my care.
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
No one in this house is greater than I am. He has
withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?”
That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he
hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to
mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I
cried with a loud voice:
she called her household servants. “Look,” she said, “this Hebrew has been brought to us to make
sport of us. He came to me so he could sleep with me, but I
screamed as loud as I could.
And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
At this, Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what He is about to do.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph,
Forasmuch as God
hath shewed thee all this, there is none so
discreet and wise as thou art:
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one as
discerning and wise as you.
And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God
hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my
affliction.
And the second son he named Ephraim, saying, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my
affliction.”
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God
hath done unto us?
“My silver has been returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”
And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father,
hath given you
treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought
Simeon out unto them.
“It is fine,” said the
steward. “Do not be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, gave you the
treasure that was in your sacks. I received your silver.” Then he brought
Simeon out to them.
And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.
“What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied. “How can we
plead? How can we
justify ourselves? God has exposed the iniquity of your servants. We are now my lord’s slaves—both we and the one who was found with the cup.”
For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
For the famine has covered the land these two years, and there will be five more years without
plowing or harvesting.
So now it was not you that sent me
hither, but God: and he
hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Therefore it was not you who sent me here, but God, who has made me a father to Pharaoh—lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God
hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me,
tarry not:
Now return quickly to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.
And the men are
shepherds, for their trade
hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
The men are
shepherds; they raise
livestock, and they have brought their flocks and herds and all that they own.’
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade
hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of
Goshen; for every
shepherd is an
abomination unto the Egyptians.
you are to say, ‘Your servants have raised
livestock ever since our youth—both we and our fathers.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of
Goshen, since all
shepherds are
detestable to the Egyptians.”
When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
When that year was over, they came to him the second year and said, “We cannot hide from our lord that our money is gone and all our
livestock belongs to you. There is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.
And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God
hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will
bless them.
Joseph said to his father, “They are the sons God has given me in this place.” So Jacob said, “Please bring them to me, that I may
bless them.”
And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.
“I never expected to see your face again,” Israel said to Joseph, “but now God has let me see your children as well.”
The archers attacked him with bitterness; they aimed at him in hostility.
And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will
peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph bears a
grudge? Then he will surely repay us for all the evil that we did to him.”
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
Then Moses asked God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ What should I tell them?”
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my
memorial unto all generations.
God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My name
forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.
And they shall
hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews
hath met with us: and now let us go, we
beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
The elders of Israel will
listen to what you say, and you must go with them to the king of Egypt and tell him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’
And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor
hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD
hath not appeared unto thee.
Then Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or
listen to my voice? For they may say, ‘The LORD has not appeared to you.’”
That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
“This is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”
And the LORD said unto him, Who
hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the
dumb, or
deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
And the LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Or who makes the
mute or the
deaf, the sighted or the blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
And they said, The God of the Hebrews
hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with
pestilence, or with the sword.
“The God of the Hebrews has met with us,” they answered. “Please let us go on a three-day journey into the wilderness to sacrifice to the LORD our God, or He may strike us with plagues or with the sword.”
For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and You have not delivered Your people in any way.”
And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Then say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you: Let My people go, so that they may worship Me in the wilderness. But you have not
listened until now.
Behold, to
morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very
grievous hail, such as
hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
Behold, at this time
tomorrow I will rain down the worst
hail that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded until now.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every
herb of the land, even all that the
hail hath left.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that the locusts may
swarm over it and
devour every plant in the land—everything that the
hail has left behind.”
And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
When you enter the land that the LORD will give you as He promised, you are to keep this service.
And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand
hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
It shall be a sign for you on your hand and a reminder on your
forehead that the Law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are
entangled in the land, the wilderness
hath shut them in.
For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, ‘They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.’
Then
sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he
hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider
hath he thrown into the sea.
Then Moses and the Israelites
sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for He is highly
exalted. The horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.
Pharaoh’s
chariots and his host
hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are
drowned in the Red sea.
Pharaoh’s
chariots and army He has cast into the sea; the finest of his officers are
drowned in the Red Sea.
Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD,
hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
Your right hand, O LORD, is
majestic in power; Your right hand, O LORD, has
shattered the enemy.
And
Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he
hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider
hath he thrown into the sea.
And
Miriam sang back to them: “Sing to the LORD, for He is highly
exalted; the horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.”
And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “This evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole congregation of Israel, ‘Come before the LORD, for He has heard your
grumbling.’”
