profaned the
hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

profaned what is
holy to the LORD. That person must be cut off from his people.

Molech, to
defile my sanctuary, and to
profane my
holy name.

Molech, he has
defiled My sanctuary and
profaned My
holy name.

holy unto their God, and not
profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be
holy.

profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the offerings made by fire, the food of their God, they must be
holy.

Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the
holy things of the children of Israel, and that they
profane not my
holy name in those things which they
hallow unto me: I am the LORD.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings that the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that they do not
profane My
holy name. I am the LORD.
Say unto them,
Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the
holy things, which the children of Israel
hallow unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the LORD.
Tell them that for the generations to come, if any of their descendants in a state of uncleanness approaches the sacred offerings that the Israelites
consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from My presence. I am the LORD.
What man
soever of the seed of Aaron is a
leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the
holy things, until he be clean. And
whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.

holy thing: a

holy thing

And they shall not
profane the
holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;
The priests must not

trespass, when they eat their
holy things: for I the LORD do
sanctify them.

Neither shall ye
profane my
holy name; but I will be
hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which
hallow you,
You must not
profane My
holy name. I must be acknowledged as
holy among the Israelites. I am the LORD who sanctifies you,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be
holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘These are My appointed feasts, the feasts of the LORD that you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies.
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an
holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
These are the feasts of the LORD, even
holy convocations, which ye shall
proclaim in their seasons.
These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, the sacred
assemblies you are to
proclaim at their appointed times.
On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any regular work.
But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an
holy convocation: ye shall do no
servile work therein.
For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”
And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
The priest is to wave the lambs as a wave offering before the LORD, together with the bread of the firstfruits. The bread and the two lambs shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
And ye shall
proclaim on the
selfsame day, that it may be an
holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no
servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
On that same day you are to
proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live for the generations to come.
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a
memorial of blowing of
trumpets, an
holy convocation.
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly
announced by
trumpet blasts.
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of
atonement: it shall be an
holy convocation unto you; and ye shall
afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
“The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of
Atonement. You shall
hold a sacred assembly and humble
yourselves, and present an offering made by fire to the LORD.
On the first day there shall be a sacred assembly. You must not do any regular work.
Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an
holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no
servile work therein.
For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.
These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be
holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, which you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies for presenting offerings by fire to the LORD—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.
It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a
holy place; for it is to him a most
holy part of the offerings made by fire to the LORD—his portion
forever.”
For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
For it is a
Jubilee; it shall be
holy to you. You may eat only the crops taken directly from the field.
And if it be a beast,
whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD shall be
holy.
If he vows an animal that may be brought as an offering to the LORD, any such animal given to the LORD shall be holy.
He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
He must not replace it or exchange it, either good for bad or bad for good. But if he does substitute one animal for another, both that animal and its substitute will be holy.
And when a man shall
sanctify his house to be
holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand.
Now if a man consecrates his house as holy to the LORD, then the priest shall value it either as good or bad. The price will stand just as the priest values it.
But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.
When the field is released in the
Jubilee, it will become
holy, like a field devoted to the LORD; it becomes the property of the priests.
Then the priest shall
reckon unto him the worth of thy
estimation, even unto the year of the jubile: and he shall give thine
estimation in that day, as a
holy thing unto the LORD.
then the priest shall
calculate for him the value up to the Year of
Jubilee, and the man shall pay the
assessed value on that day as a sacred offering to the LORD.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall
devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most
holy unto the LORD.
Nothing that a man sets apart to the LORD from all he owns—whether a man, an animal, or his inherited land—can be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.
And all the
tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is
holy unto the LORD.
Thus any
tithe from the land, whether from the seed of the land or the fruit of the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is
holy to the LORD.
And concerning the
tithe of the
herd, or of the flock, even of
whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be
holy unto the LORD.
Every tenth animal from the
herd or flock that passes under the
shepherd’s rod will be
holy to the LORD.
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
He must not
inspect whether it is good or bad, and he shall not make any substitution. But if he does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute shall become
holy; they cannot be redeemed.’”
This shall be the service of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most
holy things:
This service of the Kohathites at the Tent of Meeting regards the most holy things.
And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any
holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the
holy objects and all their
equipment, as soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the
holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.
And to the office of
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the
anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest shall oversee the oil for the light, the
fragrant incense, the daily grain offering, and the
anointing oil. He has oversight of the entire tabernacle and everything in it, including the
holy objects and their utensils.”
But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most
holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and
appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
In order that they may live and not die when they come near the most
holy things, do this for them: Aaron and his sons are to go in and
assign each man his task and what he is to carry.
But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.
But the Kohathites are not to go in and look at the holy objects, even for a moment, or they will die.”
And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
Every sacred contribution the Israelites bring to the priest shall belong to him.
And the priest shall take
holy water in an
earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
Then he is to take some
holy water in a clay
jar and put some of the dust from the tabernacle floor into the water.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to
hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
All the days of the
vow of his separation there shall no
razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be
holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
For the entire period of his
vow of separation, no
razor shall pass over his head. He must be
holy until the time of his separation to the LORD is complete; he must let the hair of his head grow long.
All the days of his separation he is holy unto the LORD.
Throughout the time of his separation, he is holy to the LORD.
And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is
holy for the priest, with the wave breast and
heave shoulder: and after that the
Nazarite may drink wine.
The priest shall then wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. This is a
holy portion for the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh that was presented. After that, the
Nazirite may drink wine.
But unto the sons of
Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.
But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since they were to carry on their shoulders the holy objects for which they were responsible.
And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
Then the Kohathites set out, transporting the holy objects; the tabernacle was to be set up before their arrival.
And Aaron said unto Moses,
Alas, my lord, I
beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done
foolishly, and wherein we have
sinned.
and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not
hold against us this sin we have so
foolishly committed.
And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
Is the land where they live good or bad? Are the cities where they dwell open camps or fortifications?
That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
Then you will remember and obey all My commandments, and you will be holy to your God.
And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are
holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up
yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
They came together against Moses and Aaron and told them, “You have taken too much upon
yourselves! For
everyone in the entire congregation is
holy, and the LORD is in their midst. Why then do you
exalt yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?”
And he spake unto
Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to
morrow the LORD will
shew who are his, and who is
holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
Then he said to
Korah and all his followers, “
Tomorrow morning the LORD will
reveal who belongs to Him and who is
holy, and He will bring that person near to Himself. The one He chooses, He will bring near to Himself.
And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to
morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD
doth choose, he shall be
holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
and
tomorrow you are to place fire and incense in them in the presence of the LORD. Then the man the LORD chooses will be the one who is
holy. It is you sons of Levi who have taken too much upon
yourselves!”
Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are
holy.
The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are
hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
As for the censers of those who
sinned at the cost of their own lives, hammer them into sheets to overlay the altar, for these were presented before the LORD, and so have become
holy. They will serve as a sign to the Israelites.”
This shall be thine of the most
holy things, reserved from the fire: every
oblation of theirs, every meat offering of theirs, and every sin offering of theirs, and every
trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render unto me, shall be most
holy for thee and for thy sons.
A portion of the most holy offerings reserved from the fire will be yours. From all the offerings they render to Me as most holy offerings, whether grain offerings or sin offerings or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.
In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.
You are to eat it as a most holy offering, and every male may eat it. You shall regard it as holy.
But the
firstling of a cow, or the
firstling of a sheep, or the
firstling of a goat, thou shalt not
redeem; they are
holy: thou shalt
sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
But you must not
redeem the
firstborn of an ox, a sheep, or a goat; they are
holy. You are to
sprinkle their blood on the altar and burn their fat as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
All the
heave offerings of the
holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
All the holy offerings that the Israelites present to the LORD I give to you and to your sons and daughters as a permanent statute. It is a permanent covenant of salt before the LORD for you and your offspring.”
Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof, even the
hallowed part thereof out of it.
You must present the offering due the LORD from all the best of every gift, the holiest part of it.’
And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have
heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye
pollute the
holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
Once you have presented the best part of it, you will not
incur guilt because of it. But you must not
defile the sacred offerings of the Israelites, or else you will die.’”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My
holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”
This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel
strove with the LORD, and he was
sanctified in them.
These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and He showed His
holiness among them.
The princes
digged the well, the nobles of the people
digged it, by the direction of the
lawgiver, with their
staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:
The princes
dug the well; the nobles of the people
hollowed it out with their scepters and with their staffs.” From the wilderness the Israelites went on to Mattanah,
For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the
strife of the congregation, to
sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
for when the congregation
contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My
holiness in their sight regarding the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an
hin for the one lamb: in the
holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering.
The drink offering accompanying each lamb shall be a quarter
hin. Pour out the offering of
fermented drink to the LORD in the sanctuary area.
In the first day shall be an
holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of
servile work therein:
On the first day there is to be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
On the seventh day you shall hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an
holy convocation; ye shall do no
servile work:
On the day of firstfruits, when you present an offering of new grain to the LORD during the Feast of Weeks, you are to hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an
holy convocation; ye shall do no
servile work: it is a day of blowing the
trumpets unto you.
“On the first day of the seventh month, you are to
hold a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This will be a day for you to sound the
trumpets.
And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an
holy convocation; and ye shall
afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
On the tenth day of this seventh month, you are to
hold a sacred assembly, and you shall humble
yourselves; you must not do any work.
And on the
fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an
holy convocation; ye shall do no
servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:
On the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, you are to
hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work, and you shall observe a feast to the LORD for seven days.
On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no
servile work therein:
On the eighth day you are to hold a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.
And her father hear her
vow, and her bond
wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall
hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond
wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
and her father hears about her
vow or
pledge but says nothing to her, then all the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.
But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
But if her husband says nothing to her from day to day, then he confirms all the vows and pledges that bind her. He has confirmed them, because he said nothing to her on the day he heard about them.
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and
Phinehas the son of
Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the
holy instruments, and the
trumpets to blow in his hand.
And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with
Phinehas son of
Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the
trumpets for signaling.
And the congregation shall deliver the
slayer out of the hand of the
revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge,
whither he was fled: and he shall
abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was
anointed with the
holy oil.
The assembly is to protect the
manslayer from the hand of the
avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was
anointed with the
holy oil.
