And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a
curse among the heathen, O house of
Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
As you have been a
curse among the nations, O house of
Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
“so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour;
execute the
judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of
Judah joy and
gladness, and
cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, the fifth, the seventh, and the tenth months will become times of joy and
gladness,
cheerful feasts for the house of
Judah. Therefore you are to love both truth and peace.”
And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in
Judah, and
Ekron as a Jebusite.
I will remove the blood from their mouths and the abominations from between their teeth. Then they too will become a
remnant for our God; they will become like a clan in
Judah, and
Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
When I have bent
Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O
Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.
For I will bend
Judah as My bow and fit it with Ephraim. I will
rouse your sons, O
Zion, against the sons of Greece. I will make you like the sword of a mighty man.
Mine anger was
kindled against the
shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of
Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
“My anger burns against the
shepherds, and I will
punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the house of
Judah; He will make them like His royal
steed in battle.
Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the
nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every
oppressor together.
The cornerstone will come from
Judah, the tent
peg from him, as well as the battle bow and every ruler together.
And I will
strengthen the house of
Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
I will
strengthen the house of
Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.
Then I cut
asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the
brotherhood between
Judah and Israel.
Then I cut in two my second staff called Union, breaking the
brotherhood between
Judah and Israel.
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of
trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against
Judah and against Jerusalem.
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of
drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples.
Judah will be besieged, as well as Jerusalem.
In that day, saith the LORD, I will
smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of
Judah, and will
smite every horse of the people with blindness.
On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with
panic, and every rider with madness. I will keep a watchful eye on the house of
Judah, but I will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.
And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts: ‘The people of Jerusalem are my strength, for the LORD of Hosts is their God.’
In that day will I make the governors of
Judah like an
hearth of fire among the wood, and like a
torch of fire in a
sheaf; and they shall
devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
On that day I will make the clans of
Judah like a
firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming
torch among the
sheaves; they will
consume all the peoples around them on the right and on the left, while the people of Jerusalem remain secure there.
The LORD also shall save the tents of
Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not
magnify themselves against
Judah.
The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of
Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You will
flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will
flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of
Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And
Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and
apparel, in great abundance.
Judah will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—gold, silver, and
apparel in great abundance.
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in
Judah shall be
holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and
seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
Indeed, every pot in Jerusalem and
Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take some pots and
cook in them. And on that day there will no longer be a
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
Judah hath dealt
treacherously, and an
abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for
Judah hath
profaned the
holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
Judah has broken faith; an
abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem. For
Judah has
profaned the LORD’s beloved sanctuary by marrying the daughter of a foreign god.
Ye have
wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we
wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of
judgment?
You have
wearied the LORD with your words; yet you ask, “How have we
wearied Him?” By saying, “All who do evil are good in the sight of the LORD, and in them He delights,” or, “Where is the God of justice?”
Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in days of old and years gone by.
And I will come near to you to
judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that
oppress the
hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
“Then I will draw near to you for
judgment. And I will be a swift witness against sorcerers and adulterers and perjurers, against oppressors of the widowed and fatherless, and against those who
defraud laborers of their wages and deny justice to the foreigner but do not fear Me,” says the LORD of Hosts.
Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in
Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and
judgments.
“Remember the law of My servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him for all Israel at
Horeb.
Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
Judah was the father of
Perez and Zerah by Tamar,
Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram.
Now when Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of
Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
After Jesus was born in
Bethlehem in
Judea, during the time of King Herod,
Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
And they said unto him, In
Bethlehem of
Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
“In
Bethlehem in
Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
And thou
Bethlehem, in the land of
Juda, art not the least among the princes of
Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
‘But you,
Bethlehem, in the land of
Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of
Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the
shepherd of My people Israel.’”
But when he heard that
Archelaus did reign in
Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being
warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of
Galilee:
But when he learned that
Archelaus was reigning in
Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been
warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of
Galilee,
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of
Judea Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
People went out to him from Jerusalem and all
Judea and the whole region around the Jordan.
And there followed him great multitudes of people from
Galilee, and from
Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from
Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
The large crowds that followed Him came from
Galilee, the
Decapolis, Jerusalem,
Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and
whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the
judgment:
You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder’ and ‘
Anyone who murders will be subject to
judgment.’
But I say unto you, That
whosoever is
angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the
judgment: and
whosoever shall say to his brother,
Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but
whosoever shall say, Thou
fool, shall be in danger of
hell fire.
But I tell you that
anyone who is
angry with his brother will be subject to
judgment. Again,
anyone who says to his brother, ‘
Raca,’ will be subject to the
Sanhedrin. But
anyone who says, ‘You
fool!’ will be subject to the fire of
hell.
Agree with thine
adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the
adversary deliver thee to the
judge, and the
judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Reconcile quickly with your
adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the
judge, and the
judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
“Do not judge, or you will be judged.
For with what
judgment ye
judge, ye shall be
judged: and with what measure ye
mete, it shall be measured to you again.
For with the same
judgment you
pronounce, you will be
judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for the land of
Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of
judgment, than for that city.
Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for
Sodom and
Gomorrah on the day of
judgment than for that town.
But I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for Tyre and
Sidon at the day of
judgment, than for you.
But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and
Sidon on the day of
judgment than for you.
But I say unto you, That it shall be more
tolerable for the land of
Sodom in the day of
judgment, than for thee.
But I tell you that it will be more bearable for
Sodom on the day of
judgment than for you.”
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall
shew judgment to the Gentiles.
“Here is My Servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom My soul delights. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will
proclaim justice to the nations.
A
bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not
quench, till he send forth
judgment unto victory.
And if I by
Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your
judges.
And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
The men of
Nineveh shall rise in
judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: because they
repented at the preaching of
Jonas; and, behold, a greater than
Jonas is here.
The men of
Nineveh will stand at the
judgment with this generation and
condemn it; for they
repented at the preaching of
Jonah, and now One greater than
Jonah is here.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the
judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: for she came from the
uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the
judgment with this generation and
condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
Is not this the
carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and
Judas?
“Isn’t this the
carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and
Judas?
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from
Galilee, and came into the coasts of
Judaea beyond Jordan;
When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left
Galilee and went into the region of
Judea beyond the Jordan.
And Jesus said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the
renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Woe unto you,
scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay
tithe of
mint and
anise and
cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law,
judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Woe to you,
scribes and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay
tithes of
mint,
dill, and
cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
Then let them which be in
Judaea flee into the mountains:
then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains.
Then one of the twelve, called
Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
Then one of the Twelve, the one called
Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
And from that time he sought opportunity to
betray him.
So from then on
Judas looked for an opportunity to
betray Jesus.
Then
Judas, which
betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
And while he yet spake, lo,
Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and
staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
While Jesus was still speaking,
Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
Then
Judas, which had
betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,
repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
When
Judas, who had
betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with
remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and
hanged himself.
So
Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and
hanged himself.
When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
While
Pilate was sitting on the
judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered
terribly in a dream
today because of Him.”
And there went out unto him all the land of
Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all
baptized of him in the river of Jordan,
confessing their sins.
But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from
Galilee followed him, and from
Judaea,
So Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, accompanied by a large crowd from
Galilee,
Judea,
Is not this the
carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of
Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were
offended at him.
Isn’t this the
carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joses,
Judas, and Simon? Aren’t His sisters here with us as well?” And they took
offense at Him.
And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for
Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of
judgment, than for that city.
If
anyone will not
welcome you or
listen to you,
shake the dust off your feet when you leave that place, as a testimony against them.”
And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of
Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was
wont, he taught them again.
Then Jesus left that place and went into the region of
Judea, beyond the Jordan. Again the crowds came to Him and He taught them, as was His custom.
But when ye shall see the
abomination of
desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in
Judaea flee to the mountains:
So when you see the
abomination of
desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains.
And when they heard it, they were
glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently
betray him.
They were delighted to hear this, and they promised to give him money. So
Judas began to look for an opportunity to
betray Jesus.
And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh
Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and
staves, from the chief priest and the
scribes and the elders.
While Jesus was still speaking,
Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests,
scribes, and elders.
There was in the days of Herod, the king of
Judaea, a certain priest named
Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
In the time of Herod king of
Judea there was a priest named
Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of
Abijah, and whose wife Elizabeth was a daughter of Aaron.
And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with
haste, into a city of
Juda;
In those days Mary got ready and
hurried to a town in the hill country of
Judah,
And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
All their neighbors were filled with
awe, and people throughout the hill country of
Judea were talking about these events.
And Joseph also went up from
Galilee, out of the city of
Nazareth, into
Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called
Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and
lineage of David:)
Which was the son of Maath, which was the son of Mattathias, which was the son of Semei, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Juda,
the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda,
Which was the son of
Simeon, which was the son of
Juda, which was the son of Joseph, which was the son of Jonan, which was the son of Eliakim,
the son of
Simeon, the son of
Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim,
Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of
Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of
Juda,
the son of
Amminadab, the son of Admin, the son of Arni, the son of Hezron, the son of
Perez, the son of
Judah,
And he preached in the synagogues of
Galilee.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were
Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of
Galilee, and
Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to
heal them.
One day Jesus was teaching, and the
Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. People had come from Jerusalem and from every village of
Galilee and
Judea, and the power of the Lord was present for Him to
heal the sick.
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all
Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be
healed of their diseases;
Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of His disciples was there, along with a great number of people from all over
Judea, Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and
Sidon.
Judge not, and ye shall not be
judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be
forgiven:
Do not
judge, and you will not be
judged. Do not
condemn, and you will not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be
forgiven.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
And the news about Jesus spread throughout
Judea and all the surrounding region.
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he
forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly
judged.
“I suppose the one who was
forgiven more,” Simon replied. “You have
judged correctly,” Jesus said.
But it shall be more
tolerable for Tyre and
Sidon at the
judgment, than for you.
But it will be more bearable for Tyre and
Sidon at the
judgment than for you.
And if I by
Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your
judges.
And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the
judgment with the men of this generation, and
condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the
judgment with the men of this generation and
condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
The men of Nineve shall rise up in the
judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: for they
repented at the preaching of
Jonas; and, behold, a greater than
Jonas is here.
The men of
Nineveh will stand at the
judgment with this generation and
condemn it; for they
repented at the preaching of
Jonah, and now One greater than
Jonah is here.
But
woe unto you,
Pharisees! for ye
tithe mint and
rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over
judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Woe to you
Pharisees! You pay
tithes of
mint,
rue, and every
herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.
And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
But Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed Me
judge or
executor between you?”
And why don’t you
judge for
yourselves what is right?
When thou goest with thine
adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give
diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he
hale thee to the
judge, and the
judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
Make every effort to
reconcile with your
adversary while you are on your way to the magistrate. Otherwise, he may
drag you off to the
judge, and the
judge may hand you over to the officer, and the officer may throw you into prison.
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
“In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men.
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
And the Lord said, “
Listen to the words of the unjust
judge.
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I
judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an
austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and
reaping that I did not
sow:
His master replied, ‘You wicked servant, I will
judge you by your own words. So you knew that I am a harsh man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and
reaping what I did not
sow?
Then let them which are in
Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter
thereinto.
Then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country stay out of the city.
And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might
betray him unto them.
And
Judas went to
discuss with the chief priests and temple officers how he might
betray Jesus to them.
And he promised, and sought opportunity to
betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
Judas consented, and began to look for an opportunity to
betray Jesus to them in the absence of a crowd.
That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
