Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
The king replied, “I
know for sure that you are
stalling for time, because you see that my word is final.
But if ye will not make
known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall
know that ye can
shew me the interpretation thereof.
If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one decree for you. You have
conspired to speak before me false and
fraudulent words, hoping the situation will change. Therefore tell me the dream, and I will
know that you can give me its interpretation.”
He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so
hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing
known to Daniel.
“Why is the decree from the king so harsh?” he asked. At this time Arioch explained the situation to Daniel.
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing
known to Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah, his companions:
Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah,
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and
knowledge to the
discerning.
He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.
I
thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made
known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made
known unto us the king’s matter.
To You, O God of my fathers, I give
thanks and praise, because You have given me wisdom and power. And now You have made
known to me what we have requested, for You have made
known to us the dream of the king.”
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in
haste and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the
captives of Judah, that will make
known unto the king the interpretation.
Arioch
hastily brought Daniel before the king and said to him, “I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who will tell the king the interpretation.”
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
The king
responded to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to tell me what I saw in the dream, as well as its interpretation?”
But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh
known to the king
Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made
known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass
hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh
known to thee what shall come to pass.
As you lay on your bed, O king, your thoughts turned to the future, and the
Revealer of Mysteries made
known to you what will happen.
But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
And to me this
mystery has been revealed, not because I have more wisdom than any man alive, but in order that the interpretation might be made
known to the king, and that you may understand the thoughts of your mind.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made
known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”
Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
So I issued a decree that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to
interpret the dream for me.
Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and diviners came in, I told them the dream, and they could not
interpret it for me.
O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
“O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I
know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no
mystery baffles you. So explain to me the visions I saw in my dream, and their interpretation.
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
This decision is the decree of the watchers, the
verdict declared by the holy ones, so that the living will
know that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes, setting over it the lowliest of men.’
This dream I king
Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof,
forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make
known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
This is the dream that I, King
Nebuchadnezzar, saw. Now, Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because none of the wise men of my kingdom can
interpret it for me. But you are able, because the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was
astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that
hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
For a time, Daniel, who was also
known as Belteshazzar, was
perplexed, and his thoughts
alarmed him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation
alarm you.” “My lord,” replied Belteshazzar, “may the dream apply to those who
hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!
That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the
dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will.
You will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field. You will feed on grass like an ox and be
drenched with the
dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass you by, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes.
And whereas they commanded to leave the
stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have
known that the heavens do rule.
As for the command to leave the
stump of the tree with its roots, your kingdom will be restored to you as soon as you acknowledge that Heaven rules.
And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will.
You will be driven away from mankind to live with the beasts of the field, and you will feed on grass like an ox. And seven times will pass you by, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes.”
Then came in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.
So all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the inscription or
interpret it for him.
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and
knowledge, and understanding,
interpreting of dreams, and
shewing of hard sentences, and
dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will
shew the interpretation.
did this because Daniel, the one he named Belteshazzar, was found to have an extraordinary spirit, as well as
knowledge, understanding, and the ability to
interpret dreams, explain
riddles, and
solve difficult problems.
Summon Daniel, therefore, and he will give you the interpretation.”
And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make
known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not
shew the interpretation of the thing:
Now the wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this inscription and
interpret it for me, but they could not give its interpretation.
And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and
dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make
known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
But I have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and
solve difficult problems. Therefore, if you can read this inscription and give me its interpretation, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”
Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to
thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make
known to him the interpretation.
In
response, Daniel said to the king, “You may keep your gifts for
yourself and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the inscription for the king and
interpret it for him.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor
know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
Then the men approached the king together and said to him, “Remember, O king, that by the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or
ordinance established by the king can be changed.”
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
I approached one of those who were standing there, and I asked him the true meaning of all this. So he told me the interpretation of these things:
Then I would
know the truth of the fourth beast, which was
diverse from all the others, exceeding
dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his
nails of brass; which
devoured,
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Then I wanted to
know the true meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—extremely
terrifying—
devouring and
crushing with iron teeth and bronze claws, then
trampling underfoot whatever was left.
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more
stout than his fellows.
I also wanted to
know about the ten horns on its head and the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn whose appearance was more imposing than the others, with eyes and with a mouth that spoke words of
arrogance.
And he said, Behold, I will make thee
know what shall be in the last end of the
indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
and said, “Behold, I will make known to you what will happen in the latter time of wrath, because it concerns the appointed time of the end.
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the
Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and
threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in
troublous times.
Know and understand this: From the
issuance of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until the
Messiah, the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with streets and a
trench, but in times of distress.
Then said he,
Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of
Grecia shall come.
“Do you know why I have come to you?” he said. “I must return at once to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I have gone forth, behold, the prince of Greece will come.
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by
flatteries: but the people that do
know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
With
flattery he will corrupt those who
violate the covenant, but the people who
know their God will firmly resist him.
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
And in their place, he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and
fro, and
knowledge shall be increased.
But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will
roam to and
fro, and
knowledge will increase.”
For she did not
know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for
Baal.
For she does not acknowledge that it was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, who
lavished on her silver and gold— which they crafted for
Baal.
I will even
betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt
know the LORD.
And I will
betroth you in faithfulness, and you will
know the LORD.”
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge: because thou hast rejected
knowledge, I will also
reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also
forget thy children.
My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge. Because you have rejected
knowledge, I will also
reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also
forget your children.
I
know Ephraim, and Israel is not
hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest
whoredom, and Israel is
defiled.
I
know all about Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me. For now, O Ephraim, you have turned to
prostitution; Israel is
defiled.
They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of
prostitution is within them, and they do not
know the LORD.
Ephraim shall be
desolate in the day of
rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made
known that which shall surely be.
Ephraim will be laid waste on the day of
rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel I
proclaim what is certain.
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
So let us know— let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
Strangers have
devoured his strength, and he
knoweth it not:
yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he
knoweth not.
Foreigners
consume his strength, but he does not notice. Even his hair is
streaked with gray, but he does not
know.
Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.
Israel
cries out to Me, “O our God, we
know You!”
The days of
visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall
know it: the prophet is a
fool, the spiritual man is
mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
The days of punishment have come; the days of
retribution have arrived— let Israel
know it. The prophet is called a
fool, and the inspired man
insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and hostility.
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
Yet I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt; you
know no God but Me, for there is no
Savior besides Me.
I did
know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great
drought.
I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of
drought.
Who is wise, and he shall understand these things?
prudent, and he shall
know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
Who
knoweth if he will return and
repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
And ye shall
know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be
ashamed.
Then you will know that I am present in Israel and that I am the LORD your God, and there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame.
So shall ye
know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in
Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
Then you will
know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in
Zion, My holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy, never again to be overrun by foreigners.
You only have I
known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will
punish you for all your
iniquities.
“Only you have I
known from all the families of the earth; therefore I will
punish you for all your
iniquities.”
For they
know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and
robbery in their palaces.
“For they know not how to do right,” declares the LORD. “They store up violence and destruction in their citadels.”
For I
know your
manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they
afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
For I
know that your transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You
oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the gate.
And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may
know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon
Jonah.
“Come!” said the sailors to one another. “Let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this
calamity that is upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on
Jonah.
And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I
know that for my sake this great
tempest is upon you.
“
Pick me up,” he answered, “and cast me into the sea, so it may quiet down for you. For I
know that I am to
blame for this violent storm that has come upon you.”
Who can tell if God will turn and
repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
Who knows? God may turn and relent; He may turn from His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”
And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
Then I said: “Hear now, O leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?
But they
know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the
sheaves into the floor.
But they do not
know the thoughts of the LORD or understand His plan, for He has gathered them like
sheaves to the
threshing floor.
O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what
Balaam the son of Beor answered him from
Shittim unto
Gilgal; that ye may
know the righteousness of the LORD.
My people, remember what Balak king of Moab counseled and what
Balaam son of Beor answered. Remember your journey from
Shittim to
Gilgal, so that you may acknowledge the righteousness of the LORD.’”
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
The LORD is good, a
stronghold in the day of distress; He cares for those who trust in Him.
Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they
flee away, and their place is not
known where they are.
Your guards are like the
swarming locust, and your
scribes like clouds of locusts that settle on the walls on a cold day. When the sun rises, they fly away, and no one
knows where.
For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
O LORD, I have heard the report of You; I stand in
awe, O LORD, of Your deeds. Revive them in these years; make them
known in these years. In Your wrath, remember mercy!
The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning
doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust
knoweth no shame.
The LORD within her is righteous; He does no wrong. He applies His justice morning by morning; He does not fail at
dawn, yet the unjust
know no shame.
For, behold, I will
shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a
spoil to their servants: and ye shall
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
I will surely wave My hand over them, so that they will become
plunder for their own servants. Then you will
know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me.”
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
“On that day many nations will join themselves to the LORD, and they will become My people. I will dwell among you, and you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you.
Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
“Do you not know what they are?” replied the angel. “No, my lord,” I answered.
The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
“The hands of
Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will
know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.
And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
“Do you not know what these are?” he inquired. “No, my lord,” I replied.
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall
know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
Even those far away will come and build the temple of the LORD, and you will
know that the LORD of Hosts has sent Me to you. This will happen if you
diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.”
But I scattered them with a
whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was
desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land
desolate.
But I scattered them with a
whirlwind among all the nations that they had not
known, and the land was left
desolate behind them so that no one could come or go. Thus they turned the pleasant land into a
desolation.”
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
It will be a day known only to the LORD, without day or night; but when evening comes, there will be light.
And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.
Then you will know that I have sent you this commandment so that My covenant with Levi may continue,” says the LORD of Hosts.
For the priest’s lips should keep
knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the
messenger of the LORD of hosts.
For the lips of a priest should preserve
knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, because he is the
messenger of the LORD of Hosts.
But when thou doest
alms, let not thy left hand
know what thy right hand doeth:
But when you give to the
needy, do not let your left hand
know what your right hand is doing,
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
For the Gentiles
strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them.
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said, “Why do you
harbor evil in your hearts?
But that ye may
know that the Son of man hath power on earth to
forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the
palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
But so that you may
know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to
forgive sins...” Then He said to the
paralytic, “Get up,
pick up your mat, and go home.”
And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
And their eyes were opened. Jesus
warned them sternly, “See that no one finds out about this!”
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and
hid, that shall not be
known.
So do not be afraid of them. For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man
knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither
knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to
whomsoever the Son will
reveal him.
All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one
knows the Son except the Father, and no one
knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to
reveal Him.
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
If only you had known the meaning of ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
And charged them that they should not make him known:
warning them not to make Him
known.
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to
desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding region. People brought all the sick to Him
Then came his disciples, and said unto him,
Knowest thou that the
Pharisees were
offended, after they heard this saying?
Then the disciples came to Him and said, “Are You aware that the
Pharisees were
offended when they heard this?”
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can
discern the face of the sky; but can ye not
discern the signs of the times?
and in the morning, ‘
Today it will be
stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You
know how to
interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times.
