Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
The living, only the living, can
thank You, as I do
today; fathers will tell their children about Your faithfulness.
With whom took he counsel, and who
instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him
knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
Whom did He
consult to
enlighten Him, and who taught Him the paths of justice? Who imparted
knowledge to Him and showed Him the way of understanding?
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the foundation of the earth?
Hast thou not
known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Do you not
know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the
everlasting God, the
Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow
tired or
weary; His understanding is beyond searching out.
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
so that all may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Let them bring them forth, and
shew us what shall happen: let them
shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and
know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
“Let them come and tell us what will happen. Tell the former things, so that we may
reflect on them and
know the outcome. Or
announce to us what is coming.
Shew the things that are to come
hereafter, that we may
know that ye are gods:
yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
Tell us the things that are to come, so that we may
know that you are gods.
Yes, do something good or evil, that we may look on together in dismay.
Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may
know? and
beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous?
yea, there is none that sheweth,
yea, there is none that declareth,
yea, there is none that heareth your words.
Who has declared this from the beginning, so that we may
know, and from times past, so that we may say: ‘He was right’? No one
announced it, no one
foretold it, no one heard your words.
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not
known: I will make darkness light before them, and
crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not
forsake them.
I will lead the blind by a way they did not
know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not
forsake them.
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may consider and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, and after Me none will come.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me?
yea, there is no God; I
know not any.
Do not
tremble or fear. Have I not told you and declared it long ago? You are My witnesses! Is there any God but Me? There is no other Rock; I
know not one.”
They that make a
graven image are all of them vanity; and their
delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor
know; that they may be
ashamed.
All makers of idols are nothing, and the things they
treasure are worthless. Their witnesses fail to see or
comprehend, so they are put to shame.
They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
They do not
comprehend or
discern, for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see and closed their minds so they cannot understand.
And none considereth in his heart, neither is there
knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire;
yea, also I have
baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have
roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an
abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
And no one considers in his heart, no one has the
knowledge or insight to say, “I burned half of it in the fire, and I
baked bread on its coals; I
roasted meat and I
ate. Shall I make something
detestable with the rest of it? Shall I bow down to a block of wood?”
That frustrateth the
tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners
mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their
knowledge foolish;
who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who confounds the wise and turns their knowledge into nonsense,
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
I will give you the treasures of darkness and the riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.
For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine
elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have
surnamed thee, though thou hast not
known me.
For the sake of Jacob My servant and Israel My chosen one, I call you by name; I have given you a title of honor, though you have not known Me.
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I
girded thee, though thou hast not
known me:
I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will
equip you for battle, though you have not
known Me,
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
so that all may know, from where the sun rises to where it sets, that there is none but Me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no
knowledge that set up the wood of their
graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
Come, gather together, and draw near, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry idols of wood and pray to a god that cannot save.
Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest
carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I
know the loss of children:
So now hear this, O lover of
luxury who sits securely, who says to herself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me. I will never be a widow or
know the loss of children.’
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None
seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy
knowledge, it hath
perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
You were secure in your wickedness; you said, ‘No one sees me.’ Your wisdom and
knowledge led you
astray; you told
yourself, ‘I am, and there is none besides me.’
Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not
know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put if off: and
desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not
know.
But
disaster will come upon you; you will not
know how to charm it away. A
calamity will
befall you that you will be unable to ward off.
Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.
Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou
didst not
know them.
You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not acknowledge them? From now on I will tell you of new things, hidden things unknown to you.
And kings shall be thy
nursing fathers, and their queens thy
nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and
lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt
know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be
ashamed that wait for me.
Kings will be your
foster fathers, and their queens your
nursing mothers. They will bow to you facedown and
lick the dust at your feet. Then you will
know that I am the LORD; those who hope in Me will never be put to shame.”
And I will feed them that
oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be
drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall
know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy
Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be
drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will
know that I, the LORD, am your
Savior and your
Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should
know how to speak a word in season to him that is
weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of
discipleship, to
sustain the
weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to
listen as a disciple.
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I
know that I shall not be
ashamed.
Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame.
Hearken unto me, ye that
know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Listen to Me, you who
know what is right, you people with My law in your hearts: Do not fear the
scorn of men; do not be broken by their insults.
Therefore my people shall
know my name: therefore they shall
know in that day that I am he that
doth speak: behold, it is I.
Therefore My people will know My name; therefore they will know on that day that I am He who speaks. Here I am!”
He shall see of the
travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his
knowledge shall my righteous servant
justify many; for he shall bear their
iniquities.
After the
anguish of His soul, He will see the light of life and be satisfied. By His
knowledge My righteous Servant will
justify many, and He will bear their
iniquities.
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou
knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath
glorified thee.
Surely you will
summon a nation you do not
know, and nations who do not
know you will run to you. For the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, has bestowed glory on you.”
Yet they seek me daily, and delight to
know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and
forsook not the
ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
For day after day they seek Me and delight to
know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not
forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”
Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we
afflicted our soul, and thou takest no
knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
“Why have we fasted, and You have not seen? Why have we humbled ourselves, and You have not noticed?” “Behold, on the day of your fast, you do as you please, and you
oppress all your workers.
The way of peace they
know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them
crooked paths:
whosoever goeth therein shall not
know peace.
The way of peace they have not
known, and there is no justice in their tracks. They have turned them into
crooked paths; no one who treads on them will
know peace.
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins
testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our
iniquities, we
know them;
For our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins
testify against us. Our transgressions are indeed with us, and we
know our
iniquities:
Thou shalt also
suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt
suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt
know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy
Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
You will drink the milk of nations and
nurse at the breasts of
royalty; you will
know that I, the LORD, am your
Savior and your
Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
Their descendants will be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed.
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his
mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
I will make
known the LORD’s loving devotion and His
praiseworthy acts, because of all that the LORD has done for us— the many good things for the house of Israel according to His great
compassion and loving devotion.
Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our
redeemer; thy name is from
everlasting.
Yet You are our Father, though Abraham does not
know us and Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O LORD, are our Father; our
Redeemer from
Everlasting is Your name.
As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to
boil, to make thy name
known to thine
adversaries, that the nations may
tremble at thy presence!
as fire kindles the
brushwood and causes the water to
boil, to make Your name
known to Your enemies, so that the nations will
tremble at Your presence!
And when ye see this, your heart shall
rejoice, and your bones shall
flourish like an
herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be
known toward his servants, and his
indignation toward his enemies.
When you see, you will
rejoice, and you will
flourish like grass; then the hand of the LORD will be revealed to His servants, but His wrath will be shown to His enemies.
For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
“And I, knowing their deeds and thoughts, am coming to gather all nations and tongues, and they will come and see My glory.
Then said I,
Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
“
Ah, Lord GOD,” I said, “I surely do not
know how to speak, for I am only a child!”
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee:
know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast
forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Your own evil will discipline you; your own
apostasies will
reprimand you. Consider and
realize how evil and bitter it is for you to
forsake the LORD your God and to have no fear of Me,” declares the Lord GOD of Hosts.
How canst thou say, I am not
polluted, I have not gone after
Baalim? see thy way in the valley,
know what thou hast done: thou art a swift
dromedary traversing her ways;
“How can you say, ‘I am not
defiled; I have not run after the Baals’? Look at your
behavior in the valley; acknowledge what you have done. You are a swift young she-
camel galloping here and there,
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Then I will give you
shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with
knowledge and understanding.”
For my people is
foolish, they have not
known me; they are
sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no
knowledge.
“For My people are fools; they have not
known Me. They are
foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing evil, but they
know not how to do good.”
Run ye to and
fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and
know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will
pardon it.
“Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem. Look now and take note; search her squares. If you can find a single person,
anyone who acts justly,
anyone who seeks the truth, then I will
forgive the city.
Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are
foolish: for they
know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
Then I said, “They are only the poor; they have played the
fool, for they do not
know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.
I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have
known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and
burst the bonds.
I will go to the powerful and speak to them. Surely they
know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.” But they too, with one
accord, had broken the yoke and
torn off the chains.
Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.
Behold, I am bringing a distant nation against you, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD. “It is an established nation, an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know and whose speech you do not understand.
Were they
ashamed when they had committed
abomination?
nay, they were not at all
ashamed, neither could they
blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Are they
ashamed of the
abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even
know how to
blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I
punish them, they will
collapse,” says the LORD.
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
Therefore hear, O nations, and learn, O congregations, what will happen to them.
I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
“I have appointed you to examine My people like ore, so you may know and try their ways.
Will ye
steal, murder, and commit
adultery, and
swear falsely, and burn incense unto
Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye
know not;
Will you
steal and murder, commit
adultery and
perjury, burn incense to
Baal, and follow other gods that you have not
known,
Yea, the
stork in the heaven
knoweth her appointed times; and the
turtle and the
crane and the
swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people
know not the judgment of the LORD.
Even the
stork in the sky
knows her appointed seasons. The
turtledove, the swift, and the
thrush keep their time of
migration, but My people do not
know the requirements of the LORD.
Were they
ashamed when they had committed
abomination?
nay, they were not at all
ashamed, neither could they
blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their
visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Are they
ashamed of the
abomination they have committed? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even
know how to
blush. So they will fall among the fallen; when I
punish them, they will
collapse, says the LORD.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not
valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they
know not me, saith the LORD.
“They bend their tongues like bows; lies prevail over truth in the land. For they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not take Me into account,” declares the LORD.
You dwell in the midst of
deception; in their
deceit they refuse to
know Me,” declares the LORD.
I will
scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have
known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
I will
scatter them among the nations that neither they nor their fathers have
known, and I will send a sword after them until I have finished them off.”
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
But let him who boasts
boast in this, that he understands and
knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth— for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.
Every man is
brutish in his
knowledge: every founder is confounded by the
graven image: for his
molten image is
falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
Every man is senseless and devoid of
knowledge; every
goldsmith is put to shame by his idols. For his
molten images are a
fraud, and there is no breath in them.
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not his own; no one who walks directs his own steps.
Pour out thy
fury upon the heathen that
know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and
devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his
habitation desolate.
Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge You, and on the families that do not call on Your name. For they have
devoured Jacob; they have consumed him and finished him off; they have
devastated his homeland.
And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.
And the LORD informed me, so I knew. Then You showed me their deeds.
But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
For I was like a gentle lamb led to slaughter; I did not
know that they had
plotted against me: “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be remembered no more.”
But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
But You
know me, O LORD; You see me and test my heart toward You.
Drag away the wicked like sheep to the slaughter and set them apart for the day of
carnage.
Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every
bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly
know that every
bottle shall be filled with wine?
Therefore you are to tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Every wineskin shall be filled with wine.’ And when they reply, ‘Don’t we surely know that every wineskin should be filled with wine?’
If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine!
yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they
know not.
If I go out to the country, I see those slain by the sword; if I enter the city, I see those
ravaged by famine! For both prophet and priest travel to a land they do not
know.’”
And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou
knowest not: for a fire is
kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.
Then I will
enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not
know, for My anger will
kindle a fire that will burn against you.”
O LORD, thou
knowest: remember me, and visit me, and
revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy
longsuffering:
know that for thy sake I have suffered
rebuke.
You understand, O LORD; remember me and attend to me.
Avenge me against my persecutors. In Your
patience, do not take me away.
Know that I
endure reproach for Your honor.
Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye
know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not
shew you favour.
So I will cast you out of this land into a land that neither you nor your fathers have known. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’
Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
“Therefore behold, I will inform them, and this time I will make them know My power and My might; then they will know that My name is the LORD.
And thou, even
thyself, shalt discontinue from thine
heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou
knowest not: for ye have
kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
The heart is
deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
As for me, I have not
hastened from being a
pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the
woeful day; thou
knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
But I have not run away from being Your
shepherd; I have not desired the day of
despair. You
know that the
utterance of my lips was spoken in Your presence.
Yet, LORD, thou
knowest all their counsel against me to
slay me:
forgive not their iniquity, neither
blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
But You, O LORD,
know all their deadly plots against me. Do not
wipe out their guilt or
blot out their sin from Your sight. Let them be overthrown before You; deal with them in the time of Your anger.
Because they have
forsaken me, and have
estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have
known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
because they have abandoned Me and made this a foreign place. They have burned incense in this place to other gods that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have ever known. They have filled this place with the blood of the innocent.
He judged the cause of the poor and
needy; then it was well with him: was not this to
know me? saith the LORD.
He took up the cause of the poor and
needy, and so it went well with him. Is this not what it means to
know Me?” declares the LORD.
Is this man Coniah a
despised broken
idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they
know not?
Is this man Coniah a
despised and
shattered pot, a
jar that no one wants? Why are he and his descendants
hurled out and cast into a land they do not
know?
And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.
But
know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon
yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
But
know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood upon
yourselves, upon this city, and upon its residents; for truly the LORD has sent me to speak all these words in your hearing.”
The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.
As for the prophet who prophesies peace, only if the word of the prophet comes true will the prophet be recognized as one the LORD has truly sent.”
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
For I
know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to
prosper you and not to
harm you, to give you a future and a hope.
Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;
this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city, your brothers who did not go with you into exile—
Because they have committed
villany in Israel, and have committed
adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I
know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.
For they have committed an
outrage in Israel by
committing adultery with the wives of their neighbors and speaking lies in My name, which I did not command them to do. I am He who
knows, and I am a witness, declares the LORD.”
And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the LORD: for they shall all
know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will
forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
No longer will each man teach his
neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘
Know the LORD,’ because they will all
know Me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will
forgive their
iniquities and will remember their sins no more.”
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and
shew thee great and mighty things, which thou
knowest not.
Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
Then said the princes unto
Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man
know where ye be.
Then the officials said to
Baruch, “You and Jeremiah must hide
yourselves and tell no one where you are.”
Then said
Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man
know of these words, and thou shalt not die.
And said unto him,
Dost thou certainly
know that Baalis the king of the
Ammonites hath sent
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to
slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam believed them not.
and said to him, “Are you aware that Baalis king of the
Ammonites has sent
Ishmael son of Nethaniah to take your life?” But Gedaliah son of
Ahikam did not believe them.
Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in
Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will
slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall
know it: wherefore should he
slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the
remnant in Judah perish?
Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah at
Mizpah. “Let me go and kill
Ishmael son of Nethaniah,” he said. “No one will
know it. Why should he take your life and
scatter all the people of Judah who have gathered to you, so that the
remnant of Judah would perish?”
The LORD hath said concerning you, O ye
remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt:
know certainly that I have
admonished you this day.
The LORD has told you, O
remnant of Judah, ‘Do not go to Egypt.’
Know for sure that I have
warned you
today!
Now therefore
know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence, in the place
whither ye desire to go and to
sojourn.
Now therefore, know for sure that by sword and famine and plague you will die in the place where you desire to go to reside.”
And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
“Moreover,” said the women, “when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands’
knowledge that we made
sacrificial cakes in her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall
know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Those who escape the sword will return from Egypt to Judah, few in number, and the whole
remnant of Judah who went to dwell in the land of Egypt will
know whose word will stand, Mine or theirs!
And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will
punish you in this place, that ye may
know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:
This will be a sign to you that I will
punish you in this place, declares the LORD, so that you may
know that My threats of
harm against you will surely stand.
All ye that are about him,
bemoan him; and all ye that
know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
