And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my
lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me
endanger my head to the king.
but he said to Daniel, “I fear my
lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking
thinner than those of the other young men your age? You would
endanger my head before the king!”
The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can
shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king,
lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any
magician, or
astrologer, or
Chaldean.
The astrologers answered the king, “No one on earth can do what the king requests! No king, however great and powerful, has ever asked anything like this of any
magician,
enchanter, or
astrologer.
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a
Lord of kings, and a
revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldst
reveal this secret.
The king said to Daniel, “Your God is truly the God of gods and
Lord of kings, the
Revealer of Mysteries, since you were able to
reveal this
mystery.”
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was
astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My
lord, the dream be to them that
hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
For a time, Daniel, who was also known as Belteshazzar, was
perplexed, and his thoughts
alarmed him. So the king said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation
alarm you.” “My
lord,” replied Belteshazzar, “may the dream apply to those who
hate you, and its interpretation to your enemies!
This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree that the Most High has issued against my lord the king:
At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
At the same time my
sanity was restored, my honor and
splendor returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne, and
surpassing greatness was added to me.
Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his
lords, and
drank wine before the thousand.
Later, King
Belshazzar held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles, and he
drank wine with them.
Then was king
Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his
lords were
astonied.
Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his
lords, came into the
banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
Hearing the outcry of the king and his nobles, the queen entered the
banquet hall. “O king, may you live
forever!” she said. “Do not let your thoughts
terrify you, or your face grow pale.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the
Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy
lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the
Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own
signet, and with the
signet of his
lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own
signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that nothing concerning Daniel could be changed.
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years,
whereof the word of the
LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would
accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the sacred books, according to the word of the
LORD to Jeremiah the prophet, that the
desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
And I set my face unto the
Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and
sackcloth, and ashes:
So I turned my attention to the
Lord God to seek Him by prayer and petition, with fasting,
sackcloth, and ashes.
And I prayed unto the
LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O
Lord, the great and
dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
And I prayed to the
LORD my God and
confessed, “O,
Lord, the great and
awesome God, who keeps His covenant of loving devotion to those who love Him and keep His commandments,
O
Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries
whither thou hast driven them, because of their
trespass that they have
trespassed against thee.
To You, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but this day we are covered with shame—the men of Judah, the people of Jerusalem, and all Israel near and far, in all the countries to which You have driven us because of our unfaithfulness to You.
O
Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have
sinned against thee.
O
LORD, we are covered with shame—our kings, our leaders, and our fathers—because we have
sinned against You.
To the
Lord our God belong
mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the
LORD our God, that we might turn from our
iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this
disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the
LORD our God by turning from our
iniquities and giving attention to Your truth.
Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
Therefore the
LORD has kept the
calamity in store and brought it upon us. For the
LORD our God is righteous in all He does; yet we have not obeyed His voice.
And now, O
Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast
gotten thee
renown, as at this day; we have
sinned, we have done wickedly.
Now, O
Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and who made for
Yourself a name
renowned to this day, we have
sinned; we have acted wickedly.
O
Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I
beseech thee, let thine anger and thy
fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
O
Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, I pray that Your anger and wrath may turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all around us.
Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to
shine upon thy sanctuary that is
desolate, for the
Lord’s sake.
So now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of Your servant. For Your sake, O
Lord, cause Your face to
shine upon Your
desolate sanctuary.
O
Lord, hear; O
Lord,
forgive; O
Lord,
hearken and do;
defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
O
Lord,
listen! O
Lord,
forgive! O
Lord, hear and act! For Your sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people bear Your name.”
And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and
confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my
supplication before the
LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
While I was speaking, praying,
confessing my sin and that of my people Israel, and presenting my petition before the
LORD my God concerning His holy mountain—
And, behold, one like the
similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my
lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
And suddenly one with the likeness of a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and said to the one standing before me, “My
lord, because of the vision, I am overcome with
anguish, and I have no strength.
For how can the servant of this my
lord talk with this my
lord? for as for me,
straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
How can I, your servant, speak with you, my lord? Now I have no strength, nor is any breath left in me.”
And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong,
yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my
lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
“Do not be afraid, you who are highly precious,” he said. “Peace be with you! Be strong now; be very strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”
The word of the
LORD that came unto
Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham,
Ahaz, and
Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of
Jeroboam the son of
Joash, king of Israel.
This is the word of the
LORD that came to
Hosea son of Beeri in the days of Uzziah, Jotham,
Ahaz, and
Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and of
Jeroboam son of Jehoash, king of Israel.
The beginning of the word of the
LORD by
Hosea. And the
LORD said to
Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great
whoredom, departing from the
LORD.
And the
LORD said unto him, Call his name
Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will
avenge the blood of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
Then the
LORD said to
Hosea, “Name him
Jezreel, for soon I will bring the
bloodshed of
Jezreel upon the house of
Jehu, and I will put an end to the kingdom of Israel.
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the
LORD said to
Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have
compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever
forgive them.
But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the
LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by
horsemen.
Yet I will have
compassion on the house of Judah, and I will save them—not by bow or sword or war, not by horses and cavalry, but by the
LORD their God.”
Then said God, Call his name Lo-ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.
And the LORD said, “Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not your God.
And I will visit upon her the days of
Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and
forgat me, saith the
LORD.
I will
punish her for the days of the Baals when she burned incense to them, when she decked herself with rings and
jewelry, and went after her lovers. But Me she
forgot,” declares the
LORD.
And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
In that day,” declares the LORD, “you will call Me ‘my Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘my Master.’
I will even
betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the
LORD.
And I will
betroth you in faithfulness, and you will know the
LORD.”
And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
“On that day I will
respond—” declares the
LORD— “I will
respond to the heavens, and they will
respond to the earth.
Then said the
LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an
adulteress, according to the love of the
LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
Then the
LORD said to me, “Go show love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an
adulteress. Love her as the
LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and offer
raisin cakes to idols.”
Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Afterward, the people of Israel will return and seek the
LORD their God and David their king. They will come
trembling to the
LORD and to His goodness in the last days.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
Hear the word of the LORD, O children of Israel, for the LORD has a case against the people of the land: “There is no truth, no loving devotion, and no knowledge of God in the land!
For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit
whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take
heed to the
LORD.
They will eat but not be satisfied; they will be
promiscuous but not multiply. For they have stopped obeying the
LORD.
Though thou, Israel, play the
harlot, yet let not Judah
offend; and come not ye unto
Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-
aven, nor
swear, The
LORD liveth.
Though you
prostitute yourself, O Israel, may Judah avoid such guilt! Do not journey to
Gilgal, do not go up to Beth-
aven, and do not
swear on oath, ‘As surely as the
LORD lives!’
For Israel slideth back as a
backsliding heifer: now the
LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God, for a spirit of
prostitution is within them, and they do not know the
LORD.
They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
They go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD, but they do not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.
They have dealt
treacherously against the
LORD: for they have
begotten strange children: now shall a month
devour them with their portions.
They have been unfaithful to the
LORD; for they have borne
illegitimate children. Now the New Moon will
devour them along with their land.
Come, and let us return unto the
LORD: for he hath
torn, and he will
heal us; he hath
smitten, and he will bind us up.
Come, let us return to the
LORD. For He has
torn us to pieces, but He will
heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
So let us know— let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.
And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
Israel’s
arrogance testifies against them, yet they do not return to the
LORD their God;
despite all this, they do not seek Him.
Set the
trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the
LORD, because they have
transgressed my covenant, and
trespassed against my law.
Put the ram’s horn to your lips! An eagle looms over the house of the
LORD, because the people have
transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to Me, and though they eat the meat, the
LORD does not accept them. Now He will remember their iniquity and
punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.
They shall not dwell in the LORD’S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
They will not remain in the land of the LORD; Ephraim will return to Egypt and eat unclean food in Assyria.
They shall not offer wine offerings to the
LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be
polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the
LORD.
They will not pour out wine offerings to the
LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him, but will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat will be
defiled. For their bread will be for themselves; it will not enter the house of the
LORD.
What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
What will you do on the appointed day, on the day of the LORD’s feast?
Give them, O
LORD: what
wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying
womb and dry breasts.
Give them, O LORD— what will You give? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that dry up!
Their heart is divided; now shall they be found
faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall
spoil their images.
Their hearts are
devious; now they must bear their guilt. The
LORD will break down their altars and
demolish their sacred pillars.
For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?
Surely now they will say, “We have no king, for we do not
revere the
LORD. What can a king do for us?”
Sow to
yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy; break up your
fallow ground: for it is time to seek the
LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Sow for
yourselves righteousness and
reap the fruit of loving devotion; break up your
unplowed ground. For it is time to seek the
LORD until He comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain.
They shall walk after the
LORD: he shall
roar like a lion: when he shall
roar, then the children shall
tremble from the west.
They will walk after the
LORD; He will
roar like a lion. When He roars, His children will come
trembling from the west.
They shall
tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a
dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the
LORD.
They will come
trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes, declares the
LORD.
The
LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will
punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he
recompense him.
The
LORD also brings a charge against Judah. He will
punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.
Even the
LORD God of hosts; the
LORD is his
memorial.
the
LORD is the God of Hosts— the
LORD is His name of
renown.
And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
But I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt. I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
But by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
Ephraim
provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his
Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has
provoked bitter anger, so his
Lord will leave his bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
Yet I am the
LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt; you know no God but Me, for there is no
Savior besides Me.
Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the
LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall
spoil the
treasure of all pleasant vessels.
Although he
flourishes among his brothers, an east wind will come— a wind from the
LORD rising up from the desert. His fountain will fail, and his spring will run dry. The wind will
plunder his treasury of every precious article.
O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
Return, O Israel, to the
LORD your God, for you have
stumbled by your iniquity.
Take with you words, and turn to the
LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us
graciously: so will we render the
calves of our lips.
Bring your confessions and return to the
LORD. Say to Him: “Take away all our iniquity and receive us
graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips.
Who is wise, and he shall understand these things?
prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the
LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
The word of the
LORD that came to
Joel the son of Pethuel.
This is the word of the
LORD that came to
Joel son of Pethuel:
The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the
LORD; the priests, the
LORD’S ministers,
mourn.
Grain and drink offerings have been cut off from the house of the
LORD; the priests are in
mourning, those who minister before the
LORD.
Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the
LORD your God, and cry unto the
LORD,
Consecrate a fast;
proclaim a solemn assembly! Gather the elders and all the residents of the land to the house of the
LORD your God, and cry out to the
LORD.
Alas for the day! for the day of the
LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the
Almighty shall it come.
Alas for the day! For the Day of the
LORD is near, and it will come as destruction from the
Almighty.
O
LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath
devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
To You, O
LORD, I call, for fire has consumed the open pastures and flames have
scorched all the trees of the field.
Blow ye the
trumpet in
Zion, and sound an
alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land
tremble: for the day of the
LORD cometh, for it is
nigh at hand;
Blow the ram’s horn in
Zion; sound the
alarm on My holy mountain! Let all who dwell in the land
tremble, for the Day of the
LORD is coming; indeed, it is near—
And the
LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the
LORD is great and very terrible; and who can
abide it?
The
LORD raises His voice in the presence of His army. Indeed, His camp is very large, for mighty are those who obey His command. For the Day of the
LORD is great and very
dreadful. Who can
endure it?
Therefore also now, saith the
LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with
weeping, and with
mourning:
“Yet even now,” declares the
LORD, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting,
weeping, and
mourning.”
And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the
LORD your God: for he is
gracious and
merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
So
rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the
LORD your God. For He is
gracious and
compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending
disaster.
Who knoweth if he will return and
repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the
LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— grain and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
Let the priests, the ministers of the
LORD,
weep between the
porch and the altar, and let them say,
Spare thy people, O
LORD, and give not thine
heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
Let the priests who minister before the
LORD weep between the
portico and the altar, saying, “
Spare Your people, O
LORD, and do not make Your
heritage a reproach, an object of
scorn among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”
Then will the
LORD be
jealous for his land, and
pity his people.
Then the
LORD became
jealous for His land, and He
spared His people.
Yea, the
LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied
therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
And the LORD answered His people: “Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, and by them you will be satisfied. I will never again make you a reproach among the nations.
Fear not, O land; be
glad and
rejoice: for the
LORD will do great things.
Do not be afraid, O land;
rejoice and be
glad, for the
LORD has done great things.
Be
glad then, ye children of
Zion, and
rejoice in the
LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Be
glad, O children of
Zion, and
rejoice in the
LORD your God, for He has given you the autumn rains for your
vindication. He sends you showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.
And ye shall eat in
plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the
LORD your God, that hath dealt
wondrously with you: and my people shall never be
ashamed.
You will have
plenty to eat, until you are satisfied. You will praise the name of the
LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you. My people will never again be put to shame.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the
LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be
ashamed.
Then you will know that I am present in Israel and that I am the LORD your God, and there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and
awesome Day of the
LORD.
And it shall come to pass, that
whosoever shall call on the name of the
LORD shall be delivered: for in mount
Zion and in Jerusalem shall be
deliverance, as the
LORD hath said, and in the
remnant whom the
LORD shall call.
And
everyone who calls on the name of the
LORD will be saved; for on Mount
Zion and in Jerusalem there will be
deliverance, as the
LORD has promised, among the
remnant called by the
LORD.
And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the
Sabeans, to a people far off: for the
LORD hath spoken it.
I will sell your sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the
Sabeans—to a distant nation.” Indeed, the
LORD has spoken.
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather
yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O
LORD.
Come quickly, all you surrounding nations, and gather
yourselves. Bring down Your mighty ones, O
LORD.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
The
LORD also shall
roar out of
Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall
shake: but the
LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
The
LORD will
roar from
Zion and raise His voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will
tremble. But the
LORD will be a refuge for His people, a
stronghold for the people of Israel.
So shall ye know that I am the
LORD your God dwelling in
Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
Then you will know that I am the
LORD your God, who dwells in
Zion, My holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy, never again to be overrun by foreigners.

And in that day the mountains will

LORD to water the Valley of
Acacias.
For I will
avenge their blood, which I have not yet

LORD dwells in
Zion.
And he said, The

Thus saith the
LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
