That the house of Israel may go no more
astray from me, neither be
polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.
in order that the house of Israel may no
longer stray from Me and no
longer defile themselves with all their transgressions. Then they will be My people and I will be their God, declares the Lord GOD.’”
So will I make my
fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more
angry.
So I will lay to rest My wrath against you, and My jealousy will turn away from you. Then I will be calm and no
longer angry.
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings,
longwinged, full of feathers, which had
divers colours, came unto
Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the
cedar:
and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘A great eagle with great wings and
long pinions, full of feathers of many colors, came to
Lebanon and took away the top of the
cedar.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this
proverb in Israel.
As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, you will no
longer quote this
proverb in Israel.
And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
With hooks they
caged him and brought him to the king of Babylon. They brought him into captivity so that his
roar was heard no
longer on the mountains of Israel.
As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and
hereafter also, if ye will not
hearken unto me: but
pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.
And as for you, O house of Israel, this is what the Lord GOD says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you. But afterward, you will surely
listen to Me, and you will no
longer defile My holy name with your gifts and idols.
In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more
dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
On that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped; you will speak and no
longer be
mute. So you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the LORD.”
Unto the men of the east with the
Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the
Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.
I will give it along with the
Ammonites as a possession to the people of the East, so that the
Ammonites will no
longer be remembered among the nations.
And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
So I will silence the sound of your songs, and the music of your lyres will no longer be heard.
When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places
desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;
then I will bring you down with those who descend to the Pit, to the people of antiquity. I will make you dwell in the earth below like the ancient ruins, with those who descend to the Pit, so that you will no
longer be inhabited or set in
splendor in the land of the living.
And there shall be no more a
pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any
grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that
despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
For the people of Israel will no
longer face a
pricking brier or a painful
thorn from all around them who treat them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.’
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of
Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.
This is what the Lord GOD says: I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in
Memphis. There will no
longer be a prince in Egypt, and I will instill fear in that land.
Therefore his height was
exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became
long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.
Therefore it towered higher than all the trees of the field. Its branches multiplied, and its boughs grew long as it spread them out because of the abundant waters.
Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening,
afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more
dumb.
Now the evening before the
fugitive arrived, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He opened my mouth before the man came to me in the morning. So my mouth was opened and I was no
longer mute.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the
shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the
shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against the
shepherds, and I will demand from them My flock and remove them from tending the flock, so that they can no
longer feed themselves. For I will deliver My flock from their mouths, and it will no
longer be food for them.’
Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey. I will judge between one sheep and another.
And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land
devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
They will no
longer be prey for the nations, and the beasts of the earth will not
consume them. They will dwell securely, and no one will
frighten them.
And I will raise up for them a plant of
renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
And I will raise up for them a garden of
renown, and they will no
longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the
scorn of the nations.
Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth
bereave them of men.
Yes, I will cause My people Israel to walk upon you; they will possess you, and you will be their inheritance, and you will no
longer deprive them of their children.
Therefore thou shalt
devour men no more, neither
bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
therefore you will no
longer devour men or deprive your nation of its children, declares the Lord GOD.
Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
I will no
longer allow the taunts of the nations to be heard against you, and you will no
longer endure the reproach of the peoples or cause your nation to
stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
I will also make the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field
plentiful, so that you will no
longer bear reproach among the nations on account of famine.
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. Then they will no longer be two nations and will never again be divided into two kingdoms.
Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned, and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
They will no
longer defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned, and I will
cleanse them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
After a
long time you will be summoned. In the latter years you will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had
long been
desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them
pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
So I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no
longer allow it to be
profaned. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
And I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”
And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits
long by the
cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
And I saw a wall surrounding the temple area. Now the length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six
long cubits (each measuring a
cubit and a
handbreadth), and he measured the wall to be one rod thick and one rod high.
And every little chamber was one reed
long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the
threshold of the gate by the
porch of the gate within was one reed.
Each gate chamber was one rod
long and one rod wide, and there were five cubits between the gate chambers. The inner
threshold of the gate by the
portico facing inward was one rod deep.
And the little chambers thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
Its three gate chambers on each side, its side pillars, and its
portico all had the same measurements as the first gate: fifty cubits
long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
Both the
gateway and its
portico had windows all around, like the other windows. It was fifty cubits
long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.
Its gate chambers, side pillars, and
portico had the same measurements as the others. Both the
gateway and its
portico had windows all around; it was fifty cubits
long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And the arches round about were five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.
(The
porticoes around the inner court were twenty-five cubits
long and five cubits deep.)
And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, were according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.
Its gate chambers, side pillars, and
portico had the same measurements as the others. Both the
gateway and its
portico had windows all around. It was fifty cubits
long and twenty-five cubits wide.
The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, and the windows to it round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
as did its gate chambers, side pillars, and
portico. It also had windows all around. It was fifty cubits
long and twenty-five cubits wide.
And the four tables were of
hewn stone for the burnt offering, of a
cubit and an half
long, and a
cubit and an half broad, and one
cubit high:
whereupon also they laid the instruments
wherewith they
slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
There were also four tables of dressed stone for the burnt offering, each a
cubit and a half
long, a
cubit and a half wide, and a
cubit high. On these were placed the utensils used to slaughter the burnt offerings and the other sacrifices.
And within were hooks, an hand broad, fastened round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.
The double-
pronged hooks, each a
handbreadth long, were fastened all around the inside of the room, and the flesh of the offering was to be placed on the tables.
So he measured the court, an hundred cubits
long, and an hundred cubits broad,
foursquare; and the altar that was before the house.
Next he measured the court. It was square, a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide. And the altar was in front of the temple.
So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most holy place.
Then he measured the room adjacent to the inner sanctuary to be twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. And he said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”
I saw also the height of the house round about: the foundations of the side chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.
I saw that the temple had a raised base all around it, forming the foundation of the side rooms. It was the full length of a rod, six long cubits.
So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long;
Then he measured the temple to be a hundred cubits
long, and the temple
courtyard and the building with its walls were also a hundred cubits
long.
Before the length of an hundred cubits was the north door, and the breadth was fifty cubits.
The building with the door facing north was a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide.
And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one
cubit; and their doors toward the north.
In front of the chambers was an inner walkway ten cubits wide and a hundred cubits long. Their doors were on the north.
And the wall that was without over against the chambers, toward the utter court on the
forepart of the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.
An outer wall in front of the chambers was fifty cubits long and ran parallel to the chambers and the outer court.
For the length of the chambers that were in the utter court was fifty cubits: and, lo, before the temple were an hundred cubits.
For the chambers on the outer court were fifty cubits long, while those facing the temple were a hundred cubits long.
And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which were toward the north, as long as they, and as broad as they: and all their goings out were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.
with a
passageway in front of them, just like the chambers that were on the north. They had the same length and width, with similar exits and dimensions.
He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
With a measuring rod he measured the east side to be five hundred cubits long.
He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.
He measured the north side to be five hundred cubits long.
He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.
He measured the south side to be five hundred cubits long.
He turned about to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.
And he came around and measured the west side to be five hundred cubits long.
He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds
long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the
profane place.
So he measured the area on all four sides. It had a wall all around, five hundred cubits long and five hundred cubits wide, to separate the holy from the common.
And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The
cubit is a
cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a
cubit, and the breadth a
cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
These are the measurements of the altar in
long cubits (a
cubit and a
handbreadth): Its
gutter shall be a
cubit deep and a
cubit wide, with a
rim of one span around its edge. And this is the height of the altar:
And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in the four squares thereof.
The altar
hearth shall be square at its four corners, twelve cubits
long and twelve cubits wide.
And the settle shall be fourteen cubits
long and fourteen broad in the four squares thereof; and the border about it shall be half a
cubit; and the bottom thereof shall be a
cubit about; and his stairs shall look toward the east.
The
ledge shall also be square, fourteen cubits
long and fourteen cubits wide, with a
rim of half a
cubit and a
gutter of a
cubit all around it. The steps of the altar shall face east.”
Neither shall they
shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow
long; they shall only
poll their heads.
They must not
shave their heads or let their hair grow
long, but must carefully
trim their hair.
Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance, ye shall offer an
oblation unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land: the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds, and the breadth shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about.
“When you divide the land by lot as an inheritance, you are to set aside a portion for the LORD, a holy portion of the land 25,000 cubits long and 20,000 cubits wide. This entire tract of land will be holy.
And the five and twenty thousand of length, and the ten thousand of breadth, shall also the Levites, the ministers of the house, have for themselves, for a possession for twenty chambers.
An adjacent area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide shall belong to the Levites who minister in the temple; it will be their possession for towns in which to live.
And ye shall
appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand
long, over against the
oblation of the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.
As the property of the city, you are to set aside an area 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, adjacent to the holy district. It will belong to the whole house of Israel.
In the land shall be his possession in Israel: and my princes shall no more
oppress my people; and the rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
This land will be his possession in Israel. And My princes will no
longer oppress My people, but will give the rest of the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.
In the four corners of the court there were courts joined of forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four corners were of one measure.
In the four corners of the outer court there were enclosed courts, each forty cubits long and thirty cubits wide. Each of the four corner areas had the same dimensions.
The
oblation that ye shall offer unto the LORD shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.
The special portion you set apart to the LORD shall be 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide.
And for them, even for the priests, shall be this holy
oblation; toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof.
This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.
And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.
And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, shall be a
profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
The remaining area, 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it
And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel: three gates northward; one gate of
Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi.
Beginning on the north side, which will be 4,500 cubits
long, the gates of the city will be named after the tribes of Israel. On the north side there will be three gates: the gate of
Reuben, the gate of Judah, and the gate of Levi.
And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: and three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of
Dan.
On the east side, which will be 4,500 cubits
long, there will be three gates: the gate of Joseph, the gate of Benjamin, and the gate of
Dan.
And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: and three gates; one gate of
Simeon, one gate of
Issachar, one gate of
Zebulun.
On the south side, which will be 4,500 cubits
long, there will be three gates: the gate of
Simeon, the gate of
Issachar, and the gate of
Zebulun.
At the west side four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of
Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of
Naphtali.
And on the west side, which will be 4,500 cubits
long, there will be three gates: the gate of
Gad, the gate of Asher, and the gate of
Naphtali.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Then I lifted up my eyes and saw a ram with two horns standing beside the canal. The horns were long, but one was longer than the other, and the longer one grew up later.
Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How
long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the
transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be
trodden under foot?
Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How
long until the
fulfillment of the vision of the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes
desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host to be
trampled?”
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, and it concerned a great conflict. And the understanding of the message was given to him in a vision.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
One of them said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How
long until the
fulfillment of these wonders?”
And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
Gomer again conceived and gave birth to a daughter, and the LORD said to
Hosea, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no
longer have
compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever
forgive them.
And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
In that day,” declares the LORD, “you will call Me ‘my Husband,’ and no longer call Me ‘my Master.’
For I will take away the names of
Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
For I will remove from her lips the names of the Baals; no
longer will their names be
invoked.
Thy
calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is
kindled against them: how
long will it be
ere they attain to
innocency?
He has rejected your
calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How
long will they be incapable of
innocence?
All their wickedness is in
Gilgal: for there I
hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
All their evil appears at
Gilgal, for there I
hated them. I will drive them from My house for the wickedness of their deeds. I will no
longer love them; all their leaders are
rebellious.
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and
desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
Ephraim chases the wind and pursues the east wind all day long; he multiplies lies and violence; he makes a covenant with Assyria and sends olive oil to Egypt.
The sorrows of a
travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay
long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
Labor pains come upon him, but he is an unwise son. When the time arrives, he fails to present himself at the opening of the
womb.
The sun and the moon shall be
darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining.
The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will no
longer shine.
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Woe to you who
long for the Day of the LORD! What will the Day of the LORD be for you? It will be darkness and not light.
And the LORD said unto me,
Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
“
Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A
plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a
plumb line among My people Israel; I will no
longer spare them:
And he said,
Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A
basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
“
Amos, what do you see?” He asked. “A
basket of summer fruit,” I replied. So the LORD said to me, “The end has come for My people Israel; I will no
longer spare them.”
And he shall judge among many people, and
rebuke strong nations
afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Then He will judge between many peoples and
arbitrate for strong nations far and wide. Then they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into
pruning hooks. Nation will no
longer take up the sword against nation, nor will they train anymore for war.
Thy
graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.
I will also cut off the carved images and sacred pillars from among you, so that you will no longer bow down to the work of your own hands.
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the
scant measure that is
abominable?
Can I
forget any
longer, O house of the wicked, the treasures of wickedness and the short
ephah, which is
accursed?
Thus saith the LORD: Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have
afflicted thee, I will
afflict thee no more.
This is what the LORD says: “Though they are allied and numerous, yet they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have
afflicted you, O Judah, I will
afflict you no
longer.
Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her
chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall
devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
“Behold, I am against you,” declares the LORD of Hosts. “I will send your
chariots up in smoke, and the sword will
devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voices of your messengers will no
longer be heard.”
O LORD, how
long shall I cry, and thou
wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou
wilt not save!
How long, O LORD, must I call for help but You do not hear, or cry out to You, “Violence!” but You do not save?
Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a
taunting proverb against him, and say,
Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how
long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!
Will not all of these take up a
taunt against him, speaking with
mockery and
derision: ‘
Woe to him who amasses what is not his and makes himself rich with many loans! How
long will this go on?’
The
remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a
deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
The
remnant of Israel will no
longer do wrong or speak lies, nor will a
deceitful tongue be found in their mouths. But they will feed and lie down, with no one to make them
tremble.”
The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
The LORD has taken away your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. Israel’s King, the LORD, is among you; no
longer will you fear any
harm.
I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
“I will gather those among you who
grieve over the appointed feasts, so that you will no
longer suffer reproach.
Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how
long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had
indignation these
threescore and ten years?
Then the angel of the LORD said, “How
long, O LORD of Hosts, will You
withhold mercy from Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which You have been
angry these seventy years?”
And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
“What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying
scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits
long and ten cubits wide.”
For I will no more
pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall
smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
For I will no
longer have
compassion on the people of the land, declares the LORD, but behold, I will cause each man to fall into the hands of his
neighbor and his king, who will
devastate the land, and I will not deliver it from their hands.”
Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Then I said, “I will no

devour one another’s flesh.”
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
And on that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will
erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will no
longer be remembered. I will also remove the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be

seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
Indeed, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take some pots and
cook in them. And on that day there will no
longer be a
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for
nought? neither do ye
kindle fire on mine altar for
nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
“Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would no
longer kindle useless fires on My altar! I take no pleasure in you,” says the LORD of Hosts, “and I will accept no offering from your hands.
