Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
But if thou say to me, We trust in the
LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars
Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
But if you say to me, ‘We trust in the
LORD our God,’ is He not the One whose high places and altars
Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before this altar’?
And am I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? the LORD said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
So now, was it apart from the LORD that I have come up against this land to destroy it? The LORD Himself said to me, ‘Go up against this land and destroy it.’”
Neither let
Hezekiah make you trust in the
LORD, saying, The
LORD will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
Do not let
Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the
LORD when he says, ‘The
LORD will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’
Beware lest
Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The
LORD will deliver us. Hath any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
Do not let
Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The
LORD will deliver us.’ Has the god of any nation ever delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
Who among all the gods of these lands has delivered his land from my hand? How then can the LORD deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”
And it came to pass, when king
Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with
sackcloth, and went into the house of the
LORD.
On hearing this report, King
Hezekiah tore his clothes, put on
sackcloth, and entered the house of the
LORD.
It may be the
LORD thy God will hear the words of
Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the
LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the
remnant that is left.
Perhaps the
LORD your God will hear the words of the
Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to
defy the living God, and He will
rebuke him for the words that the
LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the
remnant that still survives.”
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the
LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard,
wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have
blasphemed me.
who replied, “Tell your master that this is what the
LORD says: ‘Do not be afraid of the words you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have
blasphemed Me.
And
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and
Hezekiah went up unto the house of the
LORD, and spread it before the
LORD.
So
Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers, read it, and went up to the house of the
LORD and spread it out before the
LORD.
And
Hezekiah prayed unto the
LORD, saying,
O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
“O
LORD of Hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the
cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.
Incline thine ear, O
LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O
LORD, and see: and hear all the words of
Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
Incline Your ear, O
LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O
LORD, and see.
Listen to all the words that
Sennacherib has sent to
defy the living God.
Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
Truly, O LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all these countries and their lands.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.
And now, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God.”
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto
Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against
Sennacherib king of Assyria:
Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to
Hezekiah: “This is what the
LORD, the God of Israel, says: Because you have prayed to Me concerning
Sennacherib king of Assyria,
This is the word which the
LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of
Zion, hath
despised thee, and
laughed thee to
scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath
shaken her head at thee.
this is the word that the
LORD has spoken against him: ‘The Virgin Daughter of
Zion despises you and mocks you; the Daughter of Jerusalem shakes her head behind you.
By thy servants hast thou reproached the
Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my
chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of
Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice
fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest of his
Carmel.
Through your servants you have
taunted the
Lord, and you have said: “With my many
chariots I have ascended to the heights of the mountains, to the remote peaks of
Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the finest of its
cypresses. I have reached its
farthest heights, the densest of its forests.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a
remnant, and they that escape out of mount
Zion: the zeal of the
LORD of hosts shall do this.
For a
remnant will go forth from Jerusalem, and survivors from Mount
Zion. The zeal of the
LORD of Hosts will
accomplish this.
Therefore thus saith the
LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an
arrow there nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
So this is what the
LORD says about the king of Assyria: ‘He will not enter this city or shoot an
arrow into it. He will not come before it with a shield or build up a siege
ramp against it.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
He will go back the way he came, and he will not enter this city,’ declares the LORD.
Then the angel of the
LORD went forth, and
smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and
fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!
In those days was
Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the
LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
In those days
Hezekiah became
mortally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him and said, “This is what the
LORD says: ‘Put your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”
Then
Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the
LORD,
Then
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the
LORD,
And said, Remember now, O
LORD, I
beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And
Hezekiah wept sore.
saying, “Please, O
LORD, remember how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion; I have done what was good in Your sight.” And
Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying,
Go, and say to
Hezekiah, Thus saith the
LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
“Go and tell
Hezekiah that this is what the
LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.
And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;
This will be a sign to you from the LORD that He will do what He has promised:
I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
I said, “I will never again see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living; I will no longer look on mankind with those who dwell in this world.
O
Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so
wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
O Lord, by such things men live, and in all of them my spirit finds life. You have restored me to health and have let me live.
The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
The LORD will save me; we will play songs on stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the house of the LORD.
Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the
LORD?
And
Hezekiah had asked, “What will be the sign that I will go up to the house of the
LORD?”
Then said Isaiah to
Hezekiah, Hear the word of the
LORD of hosts:
Then Isaiah said to
Hezekiah, “Hear the word of the
LORD of Hosts:
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
The time will surely come when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
Then said
Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the
LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.
But
Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the
LORD that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “At least there will be peace and security in my lifetime.”
Speak ye
comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is
pardoned: for she hath received of the
LORD’S hand double for all her sins.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and
proclaim to her that her forced labor has been completed; her iniquity has been
pardoned. For she has received from the hand of the
LORD double for all her sins.”
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the
LORD, make straight in the desert a
highway for our God.
A voice of one calling: “Prepare the way for the
LORD in the wilderness; make a straight
highway for our God in the desert.
And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
The grass
withers and the flowers fall when the breath of the
LORD blows on them; indeed, the people are grass.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
Behold, the
Lord GOD comes with might, and His arm establishes His rule. His reward is with Him, and His
recompense accompanies Him.
Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
Who has directed the Spirit of the
LORD, or informed Him as His
counselor?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is
hid from the
LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Why do you say, O Jacob, and why do you assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the
LORD, and my claim is
ignored by my God”?
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the
LORD, the
Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The
LORD is the
everlasting God, the
Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow
tired or
weary; His understanding is beyond searching out.
But they that wait upon the
LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be
weary; and they shall walk, and not
faint.
But those who wait upon the
LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not
faint.
Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Who has performed this and carried it out, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD—the first and the last— I am He.”
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and tells you: Do not fear, I will help you.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the
LORD, and thy
redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
Do not fear, O worm of Jacob, O few men of Israel. I will help you,” declares the
LORD. “Your
Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Thou shalt
fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the
whirlwind shall
scatter them: and thou shalt
rejoice in the
LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
You will
winnow them, and a wind will carry them away; a
gale will
scatter them. But you will
rejoice in the
LORD; you will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
When the poor and
needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for
thirst, I the
LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not
forsake them.
The poor and
needy seek water, but there is none; their tongues are
parched with
thirst. I, the
LORD, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not
forsake them.
That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
so that all may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
“Present your case,” says the LORD. “Submit your arguments,” says the King of Jacob.
Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
This is what God the LORD says— He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its offspring, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk in it:
I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
“I, the
LORD, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and
appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,
I am the
LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to
graven images.
I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols.
Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Sing to the LORD a new song— His praise from the ends of the earth— you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who dwell in them.
Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
Let them give glory to the LORD and declare His praise in the islands.
The
LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall
stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry,
yea,
roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
The
LORD goes forth like a mighty one; He stirs up His zeal like a
warrior. He shouts;
yes, He roars in triumph over His enemies:
Who is blind, but my servant? or
deaf, as my
messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the
LORD’S servant?
Who is blind but My servant, or
deaf like the
messenger I am sending? Who is blind like My covenant
partner, or blind like the servant of the
LORD?
The
LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will
magnify the law, and make it honourable.
The
LORD was pleased, for the sake of His righteousness, to
magnify His law and make it glorious.
Who gave Jacob for a
spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the
LORD, he against whom we have
sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they
obedient unto his law.
Who gave Jacob up for
spoil, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the
LORD, against whom we have
sinned? They were unwilling to walk in His ways, and they would not obey His law.
But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Now this is what the LORD says— He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine!
For I am the
LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy
ransom,
Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
For I am the
LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your
Savior; I give Egypt for your
ransom,
Cush and Seba in your place.
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
“You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may consider and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, and after Me none will come.
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
I,
yes I, am the
LORD, and there is no
Savior but Me.
I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
I alone decreed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.
Thus saith the
LORD, your
redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
Thus says the
LORD your
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “For your sake, I will send to Babylon and bring them all as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships in which they
rejoice.
I am the
LORD, your Holy One, the
creator of Israel, your King.
I am the
LORD, your Holy One, the
Creator of Israel, and your King.”
Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
Thus says the
LORD, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the
surging waters,
Thus saith the
LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the
womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
This is the word of the
LORD, your Maker, who formed you from the
womb and who will help you: “Do not be afraid, O Jacob My servant,
Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
One shall say, I am the
LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall
subscribe with his hand unto the
LORD, and
surname himself by the name of Israel.
One will say, ‘I belong to the LORD,’ another will call himself by the name of Jacob, and still another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’ and will take the name of Israel.”
Thus saith the
LORD the King of Israel, and his
redeemer the
LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Thus says the
LORD, the King and
Redeemer of Israel, the
LORD of Hosts: “I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God but Me.
Sing, O ye heavens; for the
LORD hath done it:
shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the
LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and
glorified himself in Israel.
Sing for joy, O heavens, for the
LORD has done this;
shout aloud, O depths of the earth. Break forth in song, O mountains, you forests and all your trees. For the
LORD has redeemed Jacob, and revealed His glory in Israel.
Thus saith the
LORD, thy
redeemer, and he that formed thee from the
womb, I am the
LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Thus says the
LORD, your
Redeemer who formed you from the
womb: “I am the
LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who by Myself spread out the earth,
Thus saith the
LORD to his
anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have
holden, to
subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
This is what the
LORD says to Cyrus His
anointed, whose right hand I have
grasped to
subdue nations before him, to disarm kings, to open the doors before him, so that the gates will not be shut:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
I will give you the treasures of darkness and the riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.
I am the
LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I
girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
I am the
LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will
equip you for battle, though you have not known Me,
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
so that all may know, from where the sun rises to where it sets, that there is none but Me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.
I form the light, and
create darkness: I make peace, and
create evil: I the
LORD do all these things.
I form the light and
create the darkness; I bring prosperity and
create calamity. I, the
LORD, do all these things.
Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the
LORD have created it.
Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up that salvation may
sprout and righteousness spring up with it; I, the
LORD, have created it.
Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
Thus says the
LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: “How
dare you question Me about My sons, or
instruct Me in the work of My hands?
I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my
captives, not for price nor reward, saith the
LORD of hosts.
I will raise up Cyrus in righteousness, and I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild My city and set My exiles free, but not for payment or reward, says the LORD of Hosts.”
Thus saith the
LORD, The labour of Egypt, and
merchandise of
Ethiopia and of the
Sabeans, men of
stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make
supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
This is what the
LORD says: “The products of Egypt and the
merchandise of
Cush, along with the
Sabeans, men of
stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will
trudge behind you; they will come over in chains and bow down to you. They will
confess to you: ‘God is indeed with you, and there is no other; there is no other God.’”
But Israel shall be saved in the
LORD with an
everlasting salvation: ye shall not be
ashamed nor confounded world without end.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
For thus says the
LORD, who created the heavens—He is God; He formed the earth and fashioned it; He established it; He did not
create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited: “I am the
LORD, and there is no other.
I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
I have not spoken in secret, from a place in a land of darkness. I did not say to the descendants of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a wasteland.’ I, the LORD, speak the truth; I say what is right.
Tell ye, and bring them near;
yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the
LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
Speak up and present your case—
yes, let them take counsel together. Who
foretold this long ago? Who
announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the
LORD? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and
Savior; there is none but Me.
Surely, shall one say, in the
LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be
ashamed.
Surely they will say of Me, ‘In the
LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’” All who
rage against Him will come to Him and be put to shame.
In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
In the
LORD all descendants of Israel will be justified and will
exult.
As for our
redeemer, the
LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
Our
Redeemer—the
LORD of Hosts is His name— is the Holy One of Israel.
Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which
swear by the name of the
LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
“
Listen to this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, who have descended from the line of Judah, who
swear by the name of the
LORD, who
invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—
For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
who indeed call
yourselves after the holy city and
lean on the God of Israel; the
LORD of Hosts is His name.
All ye,
assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The
LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
Come together, all of you, and
listen: Which of the idols has
foretold these things? The
LORD’s chosen ally will carry out His desire against Babylon, and His arm will be against the Chaldeans.
Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Come near to Me and
listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time it happened, I was there.” And now the
Lord GOD has sent me, accompanied by His Spirit.
Thus saith the
LORD, thy
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the
LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Thus says the
LORD your
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the
LORD your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who directs you in the way you should go.
Go ye forth of Babylon,
flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The
LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
Leave Babylon!
Flee from the Chaldeans! Declare it with a
shout of joy,
proclaim it, let it go out to the ends of the earth, saying, “The
LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob!”
There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
“There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.”
Listen, O isles, unto me; and
hearken, ye people, from far; The
LORD hath called me from the
womb; from the
bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
Listen to Me, O islands; pay attention, O distant peoples: The
LORD called Me from the
womb; from the body of My mother He named Me.
Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for
nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the
LORD, and my work with my God.
But I said, “I have labored in vain, I have spent My strength in
futility and vanity; yet My
vindication is with the
LORD, and My reward is with My God.”
