LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and all the
travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the
LORD delivered them.
Then Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the
LORD had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships they had
encountered along the way, and how the
LORD had delivered them.
And Jethro
rejoiced for all the goodness which the
LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
And Jethro
rejoiced over all the good things the
LORD had done for Israel, whom He had
rescued from the hand of the Egyptians.
And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
Jethro declared, “Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from the hand of the Egyptians.
Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
Now I know that the
LORD is greater than all other gods, for He did this when they treated Israel with
arrogance.”
And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel:
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the LORD had commanded him.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
And all the people answered together, “We will do everything that the LORD has spoken.” So Moses brought their words back to the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear when I speak with you, and they will always put their trust in you.” And Moses relayed to the LORD what the people had said.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and
sanctify them to day and to
morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and
consecrate them
today and
tomorrow. They must wash their clothes
And be ready against the third day: for the third day the
LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount
Sinai.
and be prepared by the third day, for on the third day the
LORD will come down on Mount
Sinai in the sight of all the people.
And mount
Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the
LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount
quaked greatly.
Mount
Sinai was completely
enveloped in smoke, because the
LORD had descended on it in fire. And the smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain
quaked violently.
And the
LORD came down upon mount
Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the
LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
The
LORD descended to the top of Mount
Sinai and called Moses to the summit. So Moses went up,
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the
LORD to
gaze, and many of them perish.
and the
LORD said to him, “Go down and
warn the people not to break through to see the
LORD, lest many of them perish.
And let the priests also, which come near to the
LORD,
sanctify themselves, lest the
LORD break forth upon them.
Even the priests who approach the
LORD must
consecrate themselves, or the
LORD will break out against them.”
And Moses said unto the
LORD, The people cannot come up to mount
Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and
sanctify it.
But Moses said to the
LORD, “The people cannot come up Mount
Sinai, for You solemnly
warned us, ‘Put a boundary around the mountain and set it apart as holy.’”
And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
And the LORD replied, “Go down and bring Aaron with you. But the priests and the people must not break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break out against them.”
I am the
LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of
bondage.
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the
LORD thy God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me;
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the
LORD your God, am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who
hate Me,
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
You shall not take the name of the
LORD your God in vain, for the
LORD will not leave
anyone unpunished who takes His name in vain.
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the
LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy
manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the
LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your
manservant or
maidservant or
livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates.
For in six days the
LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the
LORD blessed the sabbath day, and
hallowed it.
For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Honor your father and mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

LORD said to Moses, “This is what you are to tell the Israelites: ‘You have seen for
yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven.
Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
an oath before the
LORD shall be made between the parties to determine whether or not the man has taken his
neighbor’s property. The owner must accept the oath and require no
restitution.
He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
If
anyone sacrifices to any god other than the
LORD alone, he must be set apart for destruction.
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord GOD.
The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the
LORD thy God. Thou shalt not
seethe a
kid in his mother’s milk.
Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the
LORD your God. You must not
cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
And ye shall serve the
LORD your God, and he shall
bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
So you shall serve the
LORD your God, and He will
bless your bread and your water. And I will take away sickness from among you.
And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the
LORD, thou, and Aaron,
Nadab, and
Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye
afar off.
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “Come up to the
LORD—you and Aaron,
Nadab and
Abihu, and seventy of Israel’s elders—and you are to worship at a distance.
And Moses alone shall come near the
LORD: but they shall not come
nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.

LORD, they all
responded with one voice: “All the words that the
LORD has spoken, we will do.”
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early the next morning he got up and built an altar at the base of the mountain, along with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
Then he sent out some young men of Israel, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as peace offerings to the LORD.
And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the
audience of the people: and they said, All that the
LORD hath said will we do, and be
obedient.
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people, who replied, “All that the
LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be
obedient.”
And Moses took the blood, and
sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the
LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
So Moses took the blood,
sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the
LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, so that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
And the glory of the
LORD abode upon mount
Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
and the glory of the
LORD settled on Mount
Sinai. For six days the cloud covered it, and on the seventh day the
LORD called to Moses from within the cloud.
And the sight of the glory of the
LORD was like
devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
And the sight of the glory of the
LORD was like a
consuming fire on the mountaintop in the eyes of the Israelites.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
In the tabernacle of the congregation without the
vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the
LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.
In the Tent of Meeting, outside the
veil that is in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to tend the lamps before the
LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the Israelites for the generations to come.
And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the
ephod for stones of
memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the
LORD upon his two shoulders for a
memorial.
Fasten both stones on the shoulder pieces of the
ephod as
memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear their names on his two shoulders as a
memorial before the
LORD.
And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the
breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a
memorial before the
LORD continually.
Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he shall bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of judgment, as a continual reminder before the LORD.
And thou shalt put in the
breastplate of judgment the
Urim and the
Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart, when he goeth in before the
LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the
LORD continually.
And place the
Urim and
Thummim in the breastpiece of judgment, so that they will also be over Aaron’s heart whenever he comes before the
LORD. Aaron will continually carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart before the
LORD.
And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not.
Aaron must wear the
robe whenever he ministers, and its sound will be heard when he enters or exits the sanctuary before the
LORD, so that he will not die.
And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a
signet,
HOLINESS TO THE
LORD.
You are to make a plate of pure gold and
engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE
LORD.
And it shall be upon Aaron’s
forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall
hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his
forehead, that they may be accepted before the
LORD.
And it will be worn on Aaron’s
forehead, so that he may bear the iniquity of the holy things that the sons of Israel
consecrate with regard to all their holy gifts. It shall always be on his
forehead, so that they may be acceptable before the
LORD.
And thou shalt kill the
bullock before the
LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then burn the entire ram on the altar; it is a burnt offering to the
LORD, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the
LORD.
And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.
Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar
atop the burnt offering as a pleasing
aroma before the
LORD; it is an offering made by fire to the
LORD.
And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s
consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before the
LORD: and it shall be thy part.
Take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s
ordination and wave it before the
LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your portion.
And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’ by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it is an
heave offering: and it shall be an
heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their
heave offering unto the
LORD.
This will belong to Aaron and his sons as a regular portion from the Israelites, for it is the
heave offering the Israelites will make to the
LORD from their peace offerings.
And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do
thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the
LORD.
And offer the second lamb at
twilight with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning, as a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the
LORD.
This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.
For the generations to come, this burnt offering shall be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet you to speak with you.
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.
When Aaron sets up the lamps at
twilight, he must burn the incense perpetually before the
LORD for the generations to come.
And Aaron shall make an
atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make
atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the
LORD.
Once a year Aaron shall make
atonement on the horns of the altar. Throughout your generations he shall make
atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of
atonement. The altar is most holy to the
LORD.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a
ransom for his soul unto the
LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.
“When you take a census of the Israelites to number them, each man must pay the
LORD a
ransom for his life when he is counted. Then no plague will come upon them when they are numbered.
This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a
shekel after the
shekel of the sanctuary: (a
shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half
shekel shall be the offering of the
LORD.
Everyone who crosses over to those counted must pay a half
shekel, according to the sanctuary
shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half
shekel is an offering to the
LORD.
Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.
Everyone twenty years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the
LORD.
The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a
shekel, when they give an offering unto the
LORD, to make an
atonement for your souls.
In making the offering to the
LORD to
atone for your lives, the rich shall not give more than a half
shekel, nor shall the poor give less.
And thou shalt take the
atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt
appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a
memorial unto the children of Israel before the
LORD, to make an
atonement for your souls.
Take the
atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will serve as a
memorial for the Israelites before the
LORD to make
atonement for your lives.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:
Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made by fire to the LORD, they must wash with water so that they will not die.
Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices,
stacte, and
onycha, and
galbanum; these sweet spices with pure
frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:
And as for the
perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to
yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the
LORD.
You are never to use this formula to make incense for
yourselves; you shall regard it as holy to the
LORD.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying,
Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the
LORD that
doth sanctify you.
“Tell the Israelites, ‘Surely you must keep My Sabbaths, for this will be a sign between Me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the
LORD:
whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the
LORD.
Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.
It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
It is a sign between Me and the Israelites
forever; for in six days the
LORD made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’”
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount
Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
When the
LORD had finished speaking with Moses on Mount
Sinai, He gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made
proclamation, and said, To
morrow is a feast to the
LORD.
When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before the
calf and proclaimed: “
Tomorrow shall be a feast to the
LORD.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down at once, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.
And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
The LORD also said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.
And Moses
besought the
LORD his God, and said,
LORD, why
doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God, saying, “O LORD, why does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?
And the
LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
So the
LORD relented from the
calamity He had threatened to bring on His people.
And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
“Do not be
enraged, my
lord,” Aaron replied. “You
yourself know that the people are intent on evil.
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
So Moses stood at the entrance to the camp and said, “
Whoever is for the
LORD, come to me.” And all the Levites gathered around him.
And he said unto them, Thus saith the
LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and
slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
He told them, “This is what the
LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each of you men is to
fasten his sword to his side, go back and forth through the camp from gate to gate, and
slay his brother, his friend, and his
neighbor.’”
For Moses had said,
Consecrate yourselves to day to the
LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may
bestow upon you a blessing this day.
Afterward, Moses said, “
Today you have been ordained for service to the
LORD, since each man went against his son and his brother; so the
LORD has bestowed a blessing on you this day.”
And it came to pass on the
morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have
sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the
LORD;
peradventure I shall make an
atonement for your sin.
The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin. Now I will go up to the
LORD; perhaps I can make
atonement for your sin.”
And Moses returned unto the
LORD, and said, Oh, this people have
sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made gods of gold for themselves.
And the
LORD said unto Moses,
Whosoever hath
sinned against me, him will I
blot out of my book.
The
LORD replied to Moses, “
Whoever has
sinned against Me, I will
blot out of My book.
And the
LORD plagued the people, because they made the
calf, which Aaron made.
And the
LORD sent a plague on the people because of what they had done with the
calf that Aaron had made.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I
sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of the land of Egypt, and go to the land that I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’
For the
LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and
consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
For the
LORD had said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites, ‘You are a stiff-necked people. If I should go with you for a single moment, I would destroy you. Now take off your
jewelry, and I will decide what to do with you.’”
And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp,
afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the
LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it at a distance outside the camp. He called it the Tent of Meeting, and
anyone inquiring of the
LORD would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the
cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the
LORD talked with Moses.
As Moses entered the tent, the
pillar of cloud would come down and remain at the entrance, and the
LORD would speak with Moses.
And the
LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of
Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Thus the
LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of
Nun would not leave the tent.
And Moses said unto the
LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou
wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
Then Moses said to the LORD, “Look, You have been telling me, ‘Lead this people up,’ but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have found favor in My sight.’
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
And the LORD answered, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
So the LORD said to Moses, “I will do this very thing you have asked, for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name.”
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will
proclaim the name of the
LORD before thee; and will be
gracious to whom I will be
gracious, and will
shew mercy on whom I will
shew mercy.
“I will cause all My goodness to pass before you,” the
LORD replied, “and I will
proclaim My name—the
LORD—in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have
compassion on whom I have
compassion.”
And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
The LORD continued, “There is a place near Me where you are to stand upon a rock,
And the
LORD said unto Moses,
Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
Then the
LORD said to Moses, “
Chisel out two stone tablets like the originals, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
And he
hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount
Sinai, as the
LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
So Moses
chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals. He rose early in the morning, and taking the two stone tablets in his hands, he went up Mount
Sinai as the
LORD had commanded him.
