So God
made the
expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
God
made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.
And God blessed the seventh day, and
sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and
made.
Then God blessed the seventh day and
sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.

subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had
made. And he said unto the woman,
Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

made. And he said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together, and
made themselves aprons.

made coverings for themselves.

And it
repented the LORD that he had
made man on the earth, and it
grieved him at his heart.
And the LORD
regretted that He had
made man on the earth, and He was
grieved in His heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the
creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have
made them.
So the LORD said, “I will
blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and
crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am
grieved that I have
made them.”
For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will
wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have
made.”
And God remembered
Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God
made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
But God remembered
Noah and all the animals and
livestock that were with him in the ark. And God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters began to
subside.
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that
Noah opened the window of the ark which he had
made:
After forty days
Noah opened the window he had
made in the ark
Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God
made he man.
Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood will be shed; for in His own image God has
made mankind.

made Abram rich:
that I will not accept even a thread, or a
strap of a

made Abram rich.’

made a covenant with
Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Neither shall thy name any more be called
Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I
made thee.

Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I have
made you a father of many nations.

made them a feast, and did
bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

baked unleavened bread, and they
ate.
And they
made their father drink wine that night: and the
firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
So that night they got their father
drunk with wine, and the
firstborn went in and
slept with her father; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.
And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
So again that night they got their father
drunk with wine, and the younger daughter went in and
slept with him; he was not aware when she lay down or when she got up.

made a covenant at Beer-
sheba: then
Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
After they had
made the covenant at
Beersheba,
Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.

made his camels to
kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

made me
swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the

made me

Canaanites in whose land I dwell,
And she
made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I
drank, and she
made the camels drink also.
She quickly lowered her
jar from her shoulder and said, ‘Drink, and I will water your camels as well.’ So I
drank, and she also watered the camels.
And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath
prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.
But he replied, “Do not delay me, since the LORD has made my journey a success. Send me on my way so that I may go to my master.”
And he removed from thence, and
digged another well; and for that they
strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath
made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
He moved on from there and
dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. He named it Rehoboth and said, “At last the LORD has
made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.”
And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.
So Isaac prepared a feast for them, and they
ate and
drank.
And he went, and
fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother
made savoury meat, such as his father loved.
So Jacob went and got two goats and brought them to his mother, who
made the
tasty food his father loved.
And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
Then she handed her son Jacob the
tasty food and bread she had
made.
And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had
made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet
scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that
Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
As soon as Isaac had finished blessing him and Jacob had left his father’s presence, his brother
Esau returned from the
hunt.
And he also had
made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son’s
venison, that thy soul may
bless me.
He too
made some
tasty food, brought it to his father, and said to him, “My father, sit up and eat of your son’s game, so that you may
bless me.”
And Isaac answered and said unto
Esau, Behold, I have
made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
But Isaac answered
Esau: “Look, I have
made him your master and given him all his relatives as servants; I have sustained him with grain and new wine. What is left that I can do for you, my son?”
And Jacob
vowed a
vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and
raiment to put on,

And
Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and
made a feast.
So
Laban invited all the men of that place and prepared a feast.
And Jacob took him rods of green
poplar, and of the
hazel and
chesnut tree; and
pilled white strakes in them, and
made the white appear which was in the rods.
Jacob, however, took fresh branches of
poplar,
almond, and plane trees, and
peeled the bark,
exposing the white inner wood of the branches.
And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the
ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of
Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto
Laban’s cattle.
Jacob set apart the young, but
made the rest face the
streaked dark-colored sheep in
Laban’s flocks. Then he set his own stock apart and did not put them with
Laban’s animals.
I am the God of
Bethel, where thou anointedst the
pillar, and where thou vowedst a
vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
I am the God of
Bethel, where you
anointed the
pillar and
made a solemn
vow to Me. Now get up and leave this land at once, and return to your native land.’”

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
Now Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons, because Joseph had been born to him in his old age; so he
made him a
robe of many colors.
For, behold, we were binding
sheaves in the field, and, lo, my
sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your
sheaves stood round about, and
made obeisance to my
sheaf.
We were binding
sheaves of grain in the field, and suddenly my
sheaf rose and stood upright, while your
sheaves gathered around and bowed down to mine.”
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars
made obeisance to me.
Then Joseph had another dream and told it to his brothers. “Look,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD
made all that he did to
prosper in his hand.
When his master saw that the LORD was with him and
made him
prosper in all he did,
And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he
made him
overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal
attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household and entrusted him with everything he owned.
And it came to pass from the time that he had
made him
overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.
From the time that he put Joseph in charge of his household and all he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s household on account of him. The LORD’s blessing was on everything he owned, both in his house and in his field.
The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD
made it to
prosper.

warden did not
concern himself with anything under Joseph’s care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s
birthday, that he
made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief
butler and of the chief
baker among his servants.
On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s
birthday, he held a feast for all his officials, and in their presence he lifted up the heads of the chief
cupbearer and the chief
baker.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph,
Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so
discreet and wise as thou art:
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has
made all this known to you, there is no one as
discerning and wise as you.
And he
made him to
ride in the second
chariot which he had; and they
cried before him, Bow the
knee: and he
made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
He had Joseph
ride in his second
chariot, with men calling out before him, “Bow the
knee!” So he placed him over all the land of Egypt.
And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my
affliction.
And the second son he named Ephraim, saying, “God has
made me fruitful in the land of my
affliction.”
And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but
made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of
Canaan to
buy food.
And when Joseph saw his brothers, he recognized them, but he treated them as strangers and spoke harshly to them. “Where have you come from?” he asked. “From the land of
Canaan,” they replied. “We are here to
buy food.”
And they
made ready the present against Joseph came at
noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.
Since the brothers had been told that they were going to eat a meal there, they prepared their gift for Joseph’s arrival at
noon.
And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and
made obeisance.
“Your servant our father is well,” they answered. “He is still alive.” And they bowed down to honor him.
And Joseph
made haste; for his
bowels did
yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to
weep; and he entered into his chamber, and
wept there.
Joseph
hurried out because he was moved to tears for his brother, and he went to a private room to
weep.
Then Joseph could not
refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he
cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph
made himself known unto his brethren.
Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he
cried out, “Send
everyone away from me!” So none of them were with Joseph when he
made himself known to his brothers.
So now it was not you that sent me
hither, but God: and he hath
made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Therefore it was not you who sent me here, but God, who has made me a father to Pharaoh—lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath
made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me,
tarry not:
Now return quickly to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.
And Joseph
made ready his
chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to
Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and
wept on his neck a good while.
Joseph prepared his
chariot and went there to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, embraced him, and
wept profusely.
And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.
So Joseph established a law that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh, and it is in effect in the land of Egypt to this day. Only the priests’ land does not belong to Pharaoh.
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were
made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the
shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Yet he
steadied his bow, and his strong arms were tempered by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, in the name of the
Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
When Jacob had finished
instructing his sons, he pulled his feet into the bed and breathed his last, and he was gathered to his people.
My father
made me
swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have
digged for me in the land of
Canaan, there shalt thou
bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and
bury my father, and I will come again.
my father
made me
swear an oath when he said, ‘I am about to die. You must
bury me in the tomb that I
dug for myself in the land of
Canaan.’ Now let me go and
bury my father, and then return.”
And Pharaoh said, Go up, and
bury thy father, according as he
made thee
swear.
Pharaoh replied, “Go up and
bury your father, as he
made you
swear to do.”
And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they
mourned with a great and very
sore lamentation: and he
made a
mourning for his father seven days.
When they reached the
threshing floor of Atad, which is across the Jordan, they
lamented and
wailed loudly, and Joseph
mourned for his father seven days.
And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
And Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath and said, “God will surely attend to you, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”
And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:
And they
made their lives bitter with hard
bondage, in
morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they
made them serve, was with rigour.
and made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar, and with all kinds of work in the fields. Every service they imposed was harsh.
And it came to pass, because the
midwives feared God, that he
made them houses.
And because the
midwives feared God, He gave them families of their own.
And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.
But the man replied, “Who
made you ruler and judge over us? Are you
planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “This thing I have done has surely become known.”
And the LORD said unto him, Who hath
made man’s mouth? or who maketh the
dumb, or
deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
And the LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Or who makes the
mute or the
deaf, the sighted or the blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have
made our savour to be
abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to
slay us.
“May the LORD look upon you and judge you,” the
foremen said, “for you have
made us a
stench before Pharaoh and his officials; you have placed in their hand a sword to kill us!”
And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
The LORD answered Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh
made his servants and his cattle
flee into the houses:
Those among Pharaoh’s officials who feared the word of the LORD
hurried to bring their servants and
livestock to shelter,
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly
sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had
made the sons of Israel
swear a solemn oath when he said, “God will surely attend to you, and then you must carry my bones with you from this place.”
And he
made ready his
chariot, and took his people with him:
So Pharaoh prepared his
chariot and took his army with him.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance— the place, O LORD, You have prepared for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, Your hands have established.
And he
cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were
made sweet: there he
made for them a statute and an
ordinance, and there he proved them,
And Moses
cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a log. And when he cast it into the waters, they were
sweetened. There the LORD
made for them a statute and an
ordinance, and there He tested them,
And the house of Israel called the name thereof
Manna: and it was like
coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like
wafers made with honey.
Now the house of Israel called the bread
manna. It was white like
coriander seed and tasted like
wafers made with honey.
And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and
made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of
fifties, and rulers of tens.
So Moses chose capable men from all Israel and
made them heads over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of
fifties, and of tens.
For in six days the LORD
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and
hallowed it.
For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
an oath before the LORD shall be
made between the parties to determine whether or not the man has taken his
neighbor’s property. The owner must accept the oath and require no
restitution.
And Moses took the blood, and
sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath
made with you concerning all these words.
So Moses took the blood,
sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has
made with you in accordance with all these words.”
And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a
paved work of a
sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
and they saw the God of Israel. Under His feet was a work like a
pavement made of
sapphire, as clear as the sky itself.
And make one
cherub on the one end, and the other
cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
one
cherub on one end and one on the other, all
made from one piece of gold.
