make an
atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
But if she cannot afford a lamb, she shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. Then the priest will
make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’”

cleansed, to
make atonement for him before the LORD.
And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and
make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:

make atonement for the one to be
cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall
make an
atonement for him, and he shall be clean.
and offer it on the altar, with the grain offering, to
make atonement for him, and he will be clean.
And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a
trespass offering to be waved, to
make an
atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;
If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to
make atonement for him, along with a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,
And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be
cleansed, to
make an
atonement for him before the LORD.

cleansed, to
make atonement for him before the LORD.

make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed before the LORD.

make atonement before the LORD for the one to be
cleansed.

make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall
make an

make atonement for the man before the LORD because of his discharge.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall
make an
atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.

make atonement for her before the LORD for her unclean discharge.

bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and
make an
atonement for himself, and for his house.

make atonement for himself and his household.
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the
scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to
make an
atonement with him, and to let him go for a
scapegoat into the wilderness.

make atonement by sending it into the wilderness as the
scapegoat.
And Aaron shall bring the
bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall
make an
atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the
bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:

makes atonement for himself and his household, he is to slaughter the bull for his own sin offering.
And he shall
make an
atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
So he shall
make atonement for the Most Holy Place because of the impurities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to do the same for the Tent of Meeting which abides among them, because it is surrounded by their impurities.
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to
make an
atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an
atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
No one may be in the Tent of Meeting from the time Aaron goes in to
make atonement in the Most Holy Place until he leaves, after he has made
atonement for himself, his household, and the whole assembly of Israel.
And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and
make an
atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the
bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
Then he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and
make atonement for it. He is to take some of the bull’s blood and some of the goat’s blood and put it on all the horns of the altar.
And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and
make an
atonement for himself, and for the people.
He is to
bathe himself with water in a holy place and put on his own clothes. Then he must go out and sacrifice his burnt offering and the people’s burnt offering to
make atonement for himself and for the people.
And the
bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to
make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.
The bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought into the Most Holy Place to
make atonement, must be taken outside the camp; and their hides, flesh, and dung must be burned up.
For on that day shall the priest
make an
atonement for you, to
cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
because on this day
atonement will be made for you to
cleanse you, and you will be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
And the priest, whom he shall
anoint, and whom he shall
consecrate to minister in the priest’s office in his father’s
stead, shall
make the
atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
The priest who is
anointed and ordained to succeed his father as high priest shall
make atonement. He will put on the sacred linen garments
And he shall
make an
atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall
make an
atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall
make an
atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.
and
make atonement for the Most Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, and for the priests and all the people of the assembly.
And this shall be an
everlasting statute unto you, to
make an
atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
This is to be a permanent statute for you, to
make atonement once a year for the Israelites because of all their sins.” And all this was done as the LORD had commanded Moses.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to
make an
atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that
maketh an
atonement for the soul.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you to
make atonement for your souls upon the altar; for it is the blood that
makes atonement for the soul.
Turn ye not unto idols, nor
make to
yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
Do not turn to idols or
make for
yourselves molten gods. I am the LORD your God.
And the priest shall
make an
atonement for him with the ram of the
trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be
forgiven him.
The priest shall
make atonement on his behalf before the LORD with the ram of the guilt offering for the sin he has committed, and he will be
forgiven the sin he has committed.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
You must not
make any cuts in your bodies for the dead or put
tattoo marks on
yourselves. I am the LORD.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not
make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.
They shall not
make baldness upon their head, neither shall they
shave off the corner of their
beard, nor
make any cuttings in their flesh.
Priests must not
make bald spots on their heads,
shave off the edges of their beards, or
make cuts in their bodies.
Or
whosoever toucheth any
creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness,
whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
or
whoever touches a
crawling creature or a person that
makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be—
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am the LORD.
He must not eat anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would
make him unclean. I am the LORD.
Blind, or broken, or
maimed, or having a
wen, or
scurvy, or
scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor
make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.
You are not to present to the LORD any animal that is blind, injured, or
maimed, or anything with a running
sore, a
festering rash, or a
scab; you must not put any of these on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is
bruised, or
crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye
make any offering thereof in your land.
You are not to present to the LORD an animal whose testicles are
bruised,
crushed,
torn, or cut; you are not to sacrifice them in your land.
And when ye
reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not
make clean
riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any
gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.
When you
reap the harvest of your land, do not
reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident. I am the LORD your God.’”
And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of
atonement, to
make an
atonement for you before the LORD your God.
On this day you are not to do any work, for it is the Day of
Atonement, when
atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.
And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.
And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.
Then shalt thou cause the
trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of
atonement shall ye
make the
trumpet sound throughout all your land.
Then you are to sound the horn far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month, the Day of
Atonement. You shall sound it throughout your land.
And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not
oppress one another:
If you
make a sale to your
neighbor or a purchase from him, you must not take advantage of each other.
And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to
inherit them for a possession; they shall be your
bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
You may leave them to your sons after you to
inherit as property; you can
make them slaves for life. But as for your brothers, the Israelites, no man may rule harshly over his brother.
Ye shall
make you no idols nor
graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
“You must not
make idols for
yourselves or set up a carved image or sacred
pillar; you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it. For I am the LORD your God.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant with you.
And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
You will still be eating the old supply of grain when you need to clear it out to make room for the new.
And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not
abhor you.
And I will
make My dwelling place among you, and My soul will not
despise you.
And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:
I will break down your
stubborn pride and
make your sky like iron and your land like bronze,
I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall
rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and
make you few in number; and your high ways shall be
desolate.
I will send wild animals against you to
rob you of your children, destroy your
livestock, and reduce your numbers, until your roads lie
desolate.
And I will
make your cities waste, and bring your
sanctuaries unto
desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
I will reduce your cities to
rubble and lay waste your
sanctuaries, and I will refuse to smell the pleasing
aroma of your sacrifices.
And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their
uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their
uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will
make amends for their iniquity,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall
make a singular
vow, the persons shall be for the LORD by thy
estimation.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘When someone
makes a special
vow to the LORD involving the value of persons,
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
He must not
inspect whether it is good or bad, and he shall not
make any substitution. But if he does
make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute shall become holy; they cannot be redeemed.’”
Then they shall
confess their sin which they have done: and he shall
recompense his
trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath
trespassed.
and must
confess the sin he has committed. He must
make full
restitution, add a fifth to its value, and give all this to the one he has wronged.
Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of
cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD
make thee a
curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD
doth make thy
thigh to
rot, and thy
belly to swell;
May this water that brings a
curse enter your stomach and cause your
belly to swell and your
thigh to
shrivel.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘
Amen,
Amen.’
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to
vow a
vow of a
Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LORD:
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that if a man or woman
makes a special
vow, the
vow of a
Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD,
He shall not
make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the
consecration of his God is upon his head.
Even if his father or mother or brother or sister should die, he is not to
defile himself, because the crown of
consecration to his God is upon his head.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and
make an
atonement for him, for that he
sinned by the dead, and shall
hallow his head that same day.
And the priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to
make atonement for him, because he has
sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. On that day he must
consecrate his head again.
And the priest shall bring them before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:
The priest is to present all these before the LORD and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
This is the law of the
Nazarite who hath
vowed, and of his offering unto the LORD for his separation, beside that that his hand shall get: according to the
vow which he
vowed, so he must do after the law of his separation.
This is the law of the
Nazirite who vows his offering to the LORD for his separation, in addition to whatever else he can afford; he must
fulfill whatever
vow he
makes, according to the law of his separation.”
The LORD
make his face
shine upon thee, and be
gracious unto thee:
may the LORD cause His face to
shine upon you and be
gracious to you;
Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and
cleanse them.
“Take the Levites from among the Israelites and
make them
ceremonially clean.
And thus shalt thou do unto them, to
cleanse them:
Sprinkle water of
purifying upon them, and let them
shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so
make themselves clean.
And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to
make an
atonement for the Levites.
And the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and offer to the LORD one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, to
make atonement for the Levites.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to
make an
atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come
nigh unto the sanctuary.
And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the Israelites, to perform the service for the Israelites at the Tent of Meeting and to
make atonement on their behalf, so that no plague will come against the Israelites when they approach the sanctuary.”
Make thee two
trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou
make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
“
Make two
trumpets of hammered silver to be used for calling the congregation and for having the camps set out.
But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be
loathsome unto you: because that ye have
despised the LORD which is among you, and have
wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and
makes you
nauseous—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have
cried out before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’”
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will
reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream.
And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
So they said to one another, “Let us
appoint a leader and return to Egypt.”
I will strike them with a plague and destroy them—and I will make you into a nation greater and mightier than they are.”
Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I
sware to
make you dwell therein, save
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of
Nun.
Surely none of you will enter the land in which I
swore to settle you, except
Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of
Nun.
And will
make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to
make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD from the
herd or flock to produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, for a special
vow or
freewill offering or appointed feast—
And the priest shall
make an
atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be
forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:
The priest is to
make atonement for the whole congregation of Israel, so that they may be
forgiven; for the sin was
unintentional and they have brought to the LORD an offering made by fire and a sin offering, presented before the LORD for their
unintentional sin.
And the priest shall
make an
atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to
make an
atonement for him; and it shall be
forgiven him.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and
bid them that they
make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the
fringe of the borders a
ribband of blue:
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that throughout the generations to come they are to
make for themselves tassels for the corners of their garments, with a blue cord on each
tassel.
Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou
make thyself altogether a prince over us?
Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? Must you also
appoint yourself as ruler over us?
But if the LORD
make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and
swallow them up, with all that
appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have
provoked the LORD.
But if the LORD brings about something
unprecedented, and the earth opens its mouth and
swallows them and all that belongs to them so that they go down alive into
Sheol, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt.”
The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them
make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are
hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
As for the censers of those who
sinned at the cost of their own lives, hammer them into sheets to overlay the altar, for these were presented before the LORD, and so have become holy. They will serve as a sign to the Israelites.”
And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a
censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and
make an
atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
Moses said to Aaron, “Take your
censer, place fire from the altar in it, and add incense. Go quickly to the congregation and
make atonement for them, because wrath has come out from the LORD; the plague has begun.”
And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall
blossom: and I will
make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they
murmur against you.
The staff belonging to the man I choose will
sprout, and I will rid Myself of the constant
grumbling of the Israelites against you.”
And the LORD said unto Moses,
Make thee a
fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is
bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “
Make a
fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When
anyone who is
bitten looks at it, he will live.”
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should
repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not
make it good?
God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not
fulfill?
And one goat for a sin offering, to
make an
atonement for you.
Include one male goat as a sin offering to
make atonement for you.
Include one male goat to
make atonement for you.
And one
kid of the goats for a sin offering, to
make an
atonement for you:
Include one male goat as a sin offering to
make atonement for you.
If a man
vow a
vow unto the LORD, or
swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
If a man
makes a
vow to the LORD or swears an oath to
obligate himself by a
pledge, he must not break his word; he must do everything he has promised.
If a woman also
vow a
vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth;
And if a woman in her father’s house during her youth
makes a
vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a
pledge,
But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall
make her
vow which she
vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips,
wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall
forgive her.
But if her husband prohibits her when he hears of it, he nullifies the
vow that binds her or the
rash promise she has made, and the LORD will
absolve her.
Every
vow, and every binding oath to
afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may
make it void.
But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
But if he nullifies them after he hears of them, then he will bear her iniquity.”
Every thing that may
abide the fire, ye shall
make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be
purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall
make go through the water.
everything that can
withstand the fire—must be put through the fire, and it will be clean. But it must still be
purified with the water of
purification. And everything that cannot
withstand the fire must pass through the water.
We have therefore brought an
oblation for the LORD, what every man hath
gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to
make an
atonement for our souls before the LORD.
So we have brought to the LORD an offering of the gold articles each man acquired—armlets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces—to
make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.”
Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
“If we have found favor in your sight,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
(The LORD God of your fathers
make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and
bless you, as he hath promised you!)
May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times over and
bless you as He has promised.
Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.
Choose for
yourselves wise, understanding, and respected men from each of your tribes, and I will
appoint them as your leaders.”
Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in
Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will
make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.
The day you stood before the LORD your God at
Horeb, the LORD said to me, “Gather the people before Me to hear My words, so that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach them to their children.”
that you do not act corruptly and
make an
idol for
yourselves of any form or shape, whether in the likeness of a male or female,
Take
heed unto
yourselves, lest ye
forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and
make you a
graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
Be careful that you do not
forget the covenant of the LORD your God that He made with you; do not
make an
idol for
yourselves in the form of anything He has forbidden you.
When thou shalt
beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt
yourselves, and
make a
graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to
provoke him to anger:
After you have children and grandchildren and you have been in the land a long time, if you then act corruptly and
make an
idol of any form—doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God and
provoking Him to anger—
The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
He did not
make this covenant with our fathers, but with all of us who are alive here
today.
Thou shalt not
make thee any
graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
You shall not
make for
yourself an
idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the waters beneath.
