Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Furthermore, we have all had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them. Should we not much
more submit to the Father of our spirits and live?
And the sound of a
trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any
more:
to a
trumpet blast or to a voice that made its hearers
beg that no further word be spoken.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if the people did not escape when they refused Him who
warned them on earth, how much less will we escape if we
reject Him who warns us from heaven?
Whose voice then
shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once
more I
shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
At that time His voice
shook the earth, but now He has promised, “Once
more I will
shake not only the earth, but heaven as well.”
And this word, Yet once
more, signifieth the removing of those things that are
shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be
shaken may remain.
The words “Once
more”
signify the removal of what can be
shaken—that is, created things—so that the
unshakable may remain.
My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater
condemnation.
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
so that the
proven character of your faith—
more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my
decease to have these things always in
remembrance.
And I will make every effort to
ensure that after my departure, you will be able to recall these things at all times.
We have also a
more sure word of prophecy;
whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day
dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp
shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy
patience, and thy works; and the last to be
more than the first.
I know your deeds—your love, your faith, your service, your
perseverance—and your latter deeds are greater than your first.
Him that overcometh will I make a
pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no
more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
The one who overcomes I will make a
pillar in the temple of My God, and he will never again leave it. Upon him I will write the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God (the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from My God), and My new name.
They shall hunger no
more, neither
thirst any
more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
‘Never again will they hunger, and never will they
thirst; nor will the sun beat down upon them, nor any
scorching heat.’
One
woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes
more hereafter.
The first
woe has passed. Behold, two woes are still to follow.
And
sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
And he
swore by Him who lives
forever and ever, who created heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it: “There will be no
more delay!
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
But the
dragon was not strong enough, and no longer was any place found in heaven for him and his angels.
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall
ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into
perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
The beast that you saw—it was, and now is no
more, but is about to come up out of the
Abyss and go to its destruction. And those who dwell on the earth whose names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will
marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet will be.
And the merchants of the earth shall
weep and
mourn over her; for no man buyeth their
merchandise any
more:
And the merchants of the earth will
weep and
mourn over her, because there is no one left to
buy their
cargo—
And the fruits that thy soul
lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were
dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no
more at all.
And they will say: “The fruit of your soul’s desire has departed from you; all your
luxury and
splendor have
vanished, never to be seen again.”
And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great
millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no
more at all.
Then a mighty angel
picked up a stone the size of a great
millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again.
And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no
more at all in thee; and no
craftsman, of
whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any
more in thee; and the sound of a
millstone shall be heard no
more at all in thee;
And the sound of harpists and musicians, of
flute players and trumpeters, will never ring out in you again. Nor will any
craftsmen of any trade be found in you again, nor the sound of a
millstone be heard in you again.
And the light of a
candle shall
shine no
more at all in thee; and the voice of the
bridegroom and of the
bride shall be heard no
more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy
sorceries were all nations
deceived.
The light of a lamp will never
shine in you again, and the voices of a
bride and
bridegroom will never call out in you again. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were
deceived by your
sorcery.”
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should
deceive the nations no
more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
And he threw him into the
Abyss, shut it, and sealed it over him, so that he could not
deceive the nations until the thousand years were complete. After that, he must be released for a brief period of time.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
And God shall
wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any
more pain: for the former things are passed away.
‘He will
wipe away every
tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no
more death or
mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
And there shall be no
more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
No longer will there be any
curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be within the city, and His servants will worship Him.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no
candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
There will be no
more night in the city, and they will have no need for the light of a lamp or of the sun. For the Lord God will
shine on them, and they will reign
forever and ever.
And said, Ye shall no more bear the ark upon your shoulders: now therefore serve the Lord your God, and minister unto his people Israel, and prepare you after your families and kindreds,
Moreover the

letting all those things go, do they not
gape, and even with open mouth fix their eyes fast on her; and have not all men
more desire unto her than unto silver or gold, or any goodly thing
whatsoever?

wilt more than is appointed in the writing, and we will give it thee, because thou art found wisest; and thou shalt sit next me, and shalt be called my cousin.
Moreover he wrote for all the Jews that went out of his realm up into
Jewry, concerning their freedom, that no officer, no ruler, no lieutenant, nor
treasurer, should
forcibly enter into their doors;
Moreover they that were come out of the captivity offered sacrifice unto the Lord God of Israel, even twelve bullocks for all Israel,
fourscore and sixteen rams,

evermore.
I divided among you a fruitful land, I cast out the
Canaanites, the Pherezites, and the Philistines, before you: what shall I yet do
more for you? saith the Lord.
And in the midst of them there was a young man of a high
stature, taller than all the rest, and upon every one of their heads he set crowns, and was
more exalted; which I
marvelled at greatly.
And it happened, that when they that dwelt upon the earth began to multiply, and had
gotten them many children, and were a great people, they began again to be
more ungodly than the first.
He said moreover unto me, Thine own things, and such as are grown up with thee, canst thou not know;
And said, Come, let us go and make war against the sea that it may depart away before us, and that we may make us more woods.
Then answered he me, and said, The
more thou searchest, the
more thou shalt
marvel; for the world hasteth fast to pass away,
Shew me then whether there be
more to come than is past, or
more past than is to come.
Then said he unto me, Consider with
thyself; as the rain is
more than the drops, and as the fire is greater than the smoke; but the drops and the smoke remain behind: so the quantity which is past did
more exceed.
And said unto me, Hear me, and I will
instruct thee;
hearken to the thing that I say, and I shall tell thee
more.
If thou
wilt pray yet
more, and fast seven days again, I shall tell thee greater things by day than I have heard.
And that he is of great mercy, for he multiplieth
more and
more mercies to them that are present, and that are past, and also to them which are to come.
For thou comest far short that thou shouldest be able to love my creature
more than I: but I have
ofttimes drawn
nigh unto thee, and unto it, but never to the unrighteous.
And therefore ask thou no more questions concerning the multitude of them that perish.
Moreover they have
trodden down his righteous,
I have said before, and now do speak, and will speak it also
hereafter, that there be many
more of them which perish, than of them which shall be saved:
Nevertheless, if thou
wilt cease yet seven days
more, (but thou shalt not fast in them,
Who then should make
more mourning than she, that hath lost so great a multitude; and not thou, which art
sorry but for one?
And I looked, and, behold, the woman appeared unto me no
more, but there was a city builded, and a large place shewed itself from the foundations: then was I afraid, and
cried with a loud voice, and said,
But now seest thou the likeness of the woman no more, but there appeared unto thee a city builded.
Moreover I
beheld, and, lo, the eagle
flew with her feathers, and reigned upon earth, and over them that dwelt therein.
And so it was, that when it reigned, the end of it came, and the place thereof appeared no more: so the next following stood up. and reigned, and had a great time;
And it happened, that when it reigned, the end of it came also, like as the first, so that it appeared no more.
Hear thou that hast borne rule over the earth so long: this I say unto thee, before thou beginnest to appear no more,
Then arose the third, and reigned as the other before, and appeared no more also.
So went it with all the residue one after another, as that every one reigned, and then appeared no more.
Then I
beheld, and, lo, in process of time the feathers that followed stood up upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no
more:
After this I looked, and, behold, the twelve feathers appeared no more, nor the two little feathers:
And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but three heads that rested, and six little wings.
And I
beheld, and, lo, there was one set up, but shortly it appeared no
more.
But this head put the whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the
governance of the world
more than all the wings that had been.
And after this I
beheld, and, lo, the head that was in the midst suddenly appeared no
more, like as the wings.
And therefore appear no
more, thou eagle, nor thy
horrible wings, nor thy wicked feathers nor thy
malicious heads, nor thy
hurtful claws, nor all thy vain body:
And, behold, the head that remained and the four wings appeared no
more, and the two went unto it and set themselves up to reign, and their kingdom was small, and fill of
uproar.
And I saw, and, behold, they appeared no
more, and the whole body of the eagle was burnt so that the earth was in great fear: then
awaked I out of the trouble and
trance of my mind, and from great fear, and said unto my spirit,
Whereof the second shall begin to reign, and shall have
more time than any of the twelve.
And whereas thou sawest that the great head appeared no more, it signifieth that one of them shall die upon his bed, and yet with pain.
But wait thou here
thyself yet seven days
more, that it may be shewed thee,
whatsoever it pleaseth the Highest to declare unto thee. And with that he went his way.
For as I conceive in mine understanding,
woe unto them that shall be left in those days and much
more woe unto them that are not left behind!
Know this therefore, that they which be left behind are more blessed than they that be dead.
For look how much the world shall be weaker through age, so much the more shall evils increase upon them that dwell therein.
And my mouth was opened, and shut no more.
I will hold my tongue no
more as touching their wickedness, which they
profanely commit, neither will I suffer them in those things, in which they wickedly exercise themselves: behold, the innocent and righteous blood crieth unto me, and the souls of the just
complain continually.
And they that occupy their
merchandise with
robbery, the
more they deck their cities, their houses, their possessions, and their own persons:
The
more will I be
angry with them for their sin, saith the Lord.
Behold, God himself is the judge, fear him: leave off from your sins, and
forget your
iniquities, to
meddle no
more with them for ever: so shall God lead you forth, and deliver you from all trouble.
And I knew not that there were sparrows in the wall, and mine eyes being open, the sparrows muted warm dung into mine eyes, and a whiteness came in mine eyes: and I went to the physicians, but they helped me not:
moreover Achiacharus did
nourish me, until I went into Elymais.
But she replied upon me, It was given for a gift
more than the wages.
Howbeit I did not believe her, but
bade her render it to the owners: and I was
abashed at her. But she replied upon me, Where are thine
alms and thy righteous deeds? behold, thou and all thy works are known.
And say, Take me out of the earth, that I may hear no more the reproach.
And that I never
polluted my name, nor the name of my father, in the land of my captivity: I am the only daughter of my father, neither hath he any child to be his heir, neither any near
kinsman, nor any son of his alive, to whom I may keep myself for a wife: my seven husbands are already dead; and why should I live? but if it please not thee that I should die, command some regard to be had of me, and
pity taken of me, that I hear no
more reproach.
Yea,
moreover, if ye return safe, I will add something to thy wages.
And he said unto him, Touching the heart and the liver, if a devil or an evil spirit trouble any, we must make a smoke thereof before the man or the woman, and the party shall be no
more vexed.
And the devil shall smell it, and
flee away, and never come again any
more: but when thou shalt come to her, rise up both of you, and pray to God which is
merciful, who will have
pity on you, and save you: fear not, for she is appointed unto thee from the beginning; and thou shalt preserve her, and she shall go with thee.
Moreover I suppose that she shall bear thee children. Now when Tobias had heard these things, he loved her, and his heart was
effectually joined to her.
And likewise Edna his wife and Sara his daughter
wept.
Moreover they entertained them
cheerfully; and after that they had killed a ram of the flock, they set store of meat on the table. Then said Tobias to Raphael, Brother Azarias, speak of those things of which thou
didst talk in the way, and let this business be
dispatched.
But she said, Hold thy peace, and
deceive me not; my son is dead. And she went out every day into the way which they went, and did eat no meat on the
daytime, and ceased not whole nights to
bewail her son Tobias, until the fourteen days of the
wedding were
expired, which Raguel had
sworn that he should
spend there. Then Tobias said to Raguel, Let me go, for my father and my mother look no
more to see me.
Then
Tobit called his son Tobias, and said unto him, My son, see that the man have his wages, which went with thee, and thou must give him
more.
And when they arose, they saw him no more.
And why have they determined not to come and meet me, more than all the inhabitants of the west.
And thou, Achior, an
hireling of
Ammon, which hast spoken these words in the day of thine iniquity, shalt see my face no
more from this day, until I take
vengeance of this nation that came out of Egypt.
Moreover let us give
thanks to the Lord our God, which trieth us, even as he did our fathers.
Therefore now pray thou for us, because thou art a godly woman, and the Lord will send us rain to fill our cisterns, and we shall
faint no
more.
And when they had done so,
Judith went out, she, and her
maid with her; and the men of the city looked after her, until she was gone down the mountain, and till she had passed the valley, and could see her no
more.
So
Judith said, I will drink now, my lord, because my life is
magnified in me this day
more than all the days since I was born.
And Holofernes took great delight in her, and
drank more wine than he had
drunk at any time in one day since he was born.
But she increased
more and
more in honour, and waxed old in her husband’s house, being an hundred and five years old, and made her
maid free; so she died in Bethulia: and they buried her in the cave of her husband Manasses.
