The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their iniquity, because they
rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be
loathsome unto you: because that ye have
despised the LORD which is among you, and have
wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and makes you
nauseous—because you have
rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have
cried out before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’”
But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have
despised.

plunder, into the land you have
rejected—and they will enjoy it.

abhorred them, because of the

rejected them,

Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not

rejected, but they have
rejected Me as their king.

rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your
adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him,
Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present
yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.
But
today you have
rejected your God, who saves you from all your troubles and afflictions, and you have said to Him, ‘No, set a king over us.’ Now therefore present
yourselves before the LORD by your tribes and clans.”
For rebellion is as the sin of
witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and
idolatry. Because thou hast
rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also
rejected thee from being king.
For rebellion is like the sin of
divination, and
arrogance is like the wickedness of
idolatry. Because you have
rejected the word of the LORD, He has
rejected you as king.”

wilt thou
mourn for Saul, seeing I have
rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to

Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long are you going to
mourn for Saul, since I have
rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to
Jesse of
Bethlehem, for I have selected from his sons a king for Myself.”

stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD
seeth not as man

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.”

forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

And they
rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his
testimonies which he
testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
They
rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and themselves became worthless, going after the surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to
imitate.

rejected all the seed of Israel, and
afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from
executing the priest’s office unto the LORD:
For the Levites left their pasturelands and their possessions and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because
Jeroboam and his sons had
rejected them as priests of the LORD.
For thou art the God of my strength: why
dost thou cast me off? why go I
mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
But You have rejected and humbled us; You no longer go forth with our armies.
O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn
thyself to us again.
You have
rejected us, O God; You have broken us; You have been
angry; restore us!
Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which
didst not go out with our armies?
Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies?
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Blessed be God, who has not
rejected my prayer or
withheld from me His loving devotion!
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why
doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Why have You
rejected us
forever, O God? Why does Your anger
smolder against the sheep of Your pasture?
On hearing it, God was
furious and
rejected Israel completely.

He rejected the tent of Joseph and refused the tribe of Ephraim.
Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and
wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?
Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies?

The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
Therefore as the fire devoureth the
stubble, and the flame consumeth the
chaff, so their root shall be as
rottenness, and their
blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and
despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes the straw, and as dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will decay and their blossoms will blow away like dust; for they have
rejected the instruction of the LORD of Hosts and
despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and
rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
“Because this people has
rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and
rejoiced in Rezin and the son of Remaliah,
But thou art cast out of thy grave like an
abominable branch, and as the
raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a
carcase trodden under feet.
But you are cast out of your grave like a
rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and
dumped into a rocky pit like a
carcass trampled underfoot.
Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye
despise this word, and trust in oppression and
perverseness, and stay
thereon:
Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel says: “Because you have
rejected this message, trusting in oppression and relying on
deceit,
Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its
farthest corners. I said, ‘You are My servant.’ I have chosen and not
rejected you.
Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath
begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am
desolate, a
captive, and removing to and
fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?
Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who has
begotten these for me? I was
bereaved and barren; I was exiled and
rejected. So who has reared them? Look, I was left all alone, so where did they come from?’”
He is
despised and
rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we
hid as it were our faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him not.
He was
despised and
rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. Like one from whom men hide their faces, He was
despised, and we esteemed Him not.
For the LORD hath called thee as a woman
forsaken and
grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou
wast refused, saith thy God.
For the LORD has called you back, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, like the rejected wife of one’s youth,” says your God.
Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath
rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not
prosper in them.
Moreover, you will leave that place with your hands on your head, for the LORD has
rejected those you trust; you will not
prosper by their help.”
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not
hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but
rejected it.
Hear, O earth! I am bringing
disaster on this people, the fruit of their own schemes, because they have paid no attention to My word and have
rejected My instruction.
Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath
rejected them.
They are called rejected silver, because the LORD has rejected them.”
Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a
lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath
rejected and
forsaken the generation of his wrath.
Cut off your hair and throw it away. Raise up a
lamentation on the barren heights, for the LORD has
rejected and
forsaken the generation of His wrath.’
The wise men are
ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have
rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?
The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and
trapped. Since they have
rejected the word of the LORD, what wisdom do they really have?
Hast thou utterly
rejected Judah? hath thy soul
lothed Zion? why hast thou
smitten us, and there is no
healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of
healing, and behold trouble!
Have You
rejected Judah completely? Do You
despise Zion? Why have You
stricken us so that we are beyond
healing? We hoped for peace, but no good has come, and for the time of
healing, but there was only terror.
Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have
despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

rejected the two families He had chosen’? So they
despise My people and no longer regard them as a nation.
The Lord hath
trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to
crush my young men: the Lord hath
trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
The Lord has
rejected all the mighty men in my midst; He has summoned an army against me to
crush my young warriors. Like grapes in a winepress, the Lord has
trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah.
The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath
abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.
The Lord has
rejected His altar; He has abandoned His sanctuary; He has delivered the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have raised a
shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.
But thou hast utterly
rejected us; thou art very
wroth against us.
unless You have utterly
rejected us and remain
angry with us beyond measure.
And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
But she has rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against My statutes worse than the countries around her. For her people have rejected My ordinances and have not walked in My statutes.’
But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they
despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly
polluted: then I said, I would pour out my
fury upon them in the wilderness, to
consume them.
Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not follow My statutes and they
rejected My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they utterly
profaned My Sabbaths. Then I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and put an end to them in the wilderness.
Because they had not executed my judgments, but had
despised my statutes, and had
polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.
For they did not practice My ordinances, but they
rejected My statutes and
profaned My Sabbaths, fixing their eyes on the idols of their fathers.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast
rejected knowledge, I will also
reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also
forget thy children.

rejected knowledge, I will also
reject you as My priests. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also
forget your children.

Thy
calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is
kindled against them: how long will it be
ere they attain to
innocency?
He has
rejected your
calf, O Samaria. My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of
innocence?
And I will
strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
I will
strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have
compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not
rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.

rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is
marvelous in our eyes’?
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be
rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and
scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be
rejected by the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again.
And he answered and told them, Elias
verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at
nought.
He replied, “
Elijah does indeed come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be
rejected?

Pharisees and lawyers
rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not
baptized of him.

rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been
baptized by John.

rejected of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
“The Son of Man must suffer many things,” He said. “He must be
rejected by the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
And he
beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders
rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
But Jesus looked directly at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’?
The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath
glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of
Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has
glorified His servant Jesus. You handed Him over and
rejected Him before
Pilate, even though he had decided to release Him.
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.

nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

redeemer through the angel who appeared to him in the
bush.

temptation which was in my flesh ye
despised not, nor
rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus Himself.

shipwrecked their faith.

repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

inherit the blessing, he was
rejected. He could find no ground for
repentance, though he sought the blessing with tears.
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
As you come to Him, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight,
Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
A wise sentence shall be
