Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.
And if ye
shall despise my statutes, or if your soul
abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
and if you
reject My statutes,
despise My ordinances, and neglect to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,
I also will do this unto you; I will even
appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning
ague, that
shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye
shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies
shall eat it.
then this is what I will do to you: I will bring upon you sudden terror, wasting disease, and fever that will destroy your sight and
drain your life. You will
sow your seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.
And I will set my face against you, and ye
shall be slain before your enemies: they that
hate you
shall reign over you; and ye
shall flee when none pursueth you.
And I will set My face against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who
hate you will rule over you, and you will
flee when no one pursues you.
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
I will also send wild beasts among you, which
shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways
shall be
desolate.
I will send wild animals against you to
rob you of your children, destroy your
livestock, and reduce your numbers, until your roads lie
desolate.
And I will bring a sword upon you, that
shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the
pestilence among you; and ye
shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
And I will bring a sword against you to
execute the
vengeance of the covenant. Though you withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women
shall bake your bread in one
oven, and they
shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye
shall eat, and not be satisfied.
When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will
bake your bread in a single
oven and
dole out your bread by weight, so that you will eat but not be satisfied.
And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
You will eat the flesh of your own sons and daughters.
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul
shall abhor you.
I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and
heap your lifeless bodies on the lifeless remains of your idols; and My soul will
despise you.
And I will bring the land into
desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein
shall be
astonished at it.
And I will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who dwell in it will be
appalled.
And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land
shall be
desolate, and your cities waste.
But I will
scatter you among the nations and will draw out a sword after you as your land becomes
desolate and your cities are laid waste.
Then
shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth
desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then
shall the land rest, and enjoy her sabbaths.
Then the land
shall enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies
desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
As long as it lieth
desolate it
shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
As long as it lies
desolate, the land will have the rest it did not receive during the Sabbaths when you lived in it.
And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a
shaken leaf
shall chase them; and they
shall flee, as
fleeing from a sword; and they
shall fall when none pursueth.
As for those of you who
survive, I will send a
faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, so that even the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. And they will
flee as one flees the sword, and fall when no one pursues them.
And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
They will
stumble over one another as before the sword, though no one is behind them. So you will not be able to stand against your enemies.
And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will
consume you.
And they that are left of you
shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the
iniquities of their fathers
shall they pine away with them.
Those of you who
survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away in their iniquity and will decay in the sins of their fathers.
If they
shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their
trespass which they
trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
But if they will
confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, by which they have also walked in hostility toward Me—
The land also
shall be left of them, and
shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they
shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man
shall make a singular
vow, the persons
shall be for the LORD by thy
estimation.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘When someone makes a special
vow to the LORD involving the value of persons,
And thy
estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy
estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary.
if the
valuation concerns a male from twenty to sixty years of age, then your
valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary
shekel.
And if it be a female, then thy
estimation shall be thirty shekels.
Or if it is a female, then your
valuation shall be thirty shekels.
And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if the person is from five to twenty years of age, then your
valuation for the male
shall be twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy
estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy
estimation shall be three shekels of silver.
Now if the person is from one month to five years of age, then your
valuation for the male
shall be five shekels of silver, and for the female three shekels of silver.
And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy
estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.
And if the person is sixty years of age or older, then your
valuation shall be fifteen shekels for the male and ten shekels for the female.
But if he be poorer than thy
estimation, then he
shall present himself before the priest, and the priest
shall value him; according to his ability that
vowed shall the priest value him.
But if the one making the
vow is too poor to pay the
valuation, he is to present the person before the priest, who
shall set the value according to what the one making the
vow can afford.
And if it be a beast,
whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that any man giveth of such unto the LORD
shall be holy.
If he vows an animal that may be brought as an offering to the LORD, any such animal given to the LORD shall be holy.
He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.
He must not replace it or exchange it, either good for bad or bad for good. But if he does substitute one animal for another, both that animal and its substitute will be holy.
And if it be any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
But if the
vow involves any of the unclean animals that may not be brought as an offering to the LORD, the animal must be presented before the priest.
And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be.
The priest shall set its value, whether high or low; as the priest values it, the price will be set.
But if he will at all
redeem it, then he
shall add a fifth part thereof unto thy
estimation.
If, however, the owner decides to
redeem the animal, he must add a fifth to its value.
And when a man
shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the LORD, then the priest
shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest
shall estimate it, so
shall it stand.
Now if a man consecrates his house as holy to the LORD, then the priest shall value it either as good or bad. The price will stand just as the priest values it.
And if he that
sanctified it will
redeem his house, then he
shall add the fifth part of the money of thy
estimation unto it, and it
shall be his.
But if he who consecrated his house redeems it, he must add a fifth to the
assessed value, and it will belong to him.
And if a man
shall sanctify unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then thy
estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed
shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.
If a man consecrates to the LORD a
parcel of his land, then your
valuation shall be proportional to the seed required for it—fifty shekels of silver for every homer of barley seed.
If he
sanctify his field from the year of jubile, according to thy
estimation it
shall stand.
If he consecrates his field during the Year of
Jubilee, the price will stand according to your
valuation.
But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest
shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it
shall be
abated from thy
estimation.
But if he consecrates his field after the
Jubilee, the priest is to
calculate the price in proportion to the years left until the next Year of
Jubilee, so that your
valuation will be reduced.
And if he that
sanctified the field will in any wise
redeem it, then he
shall add the fifth part of the money of thy
estimation unto it, and it
shall be
assured to him.
And if the one who consecrated the field decides to
redeem it, he must add a fifth to the
assessed value, and it
shall belong to him.
And if he will not
redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it
shall not be redeemed any more.
If, however, he does not
redeem the field, or if he has sold it to another man, it may no longer be redeemed.
But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.
When the field is released in the
Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the LORD; it becomes the property of the priests.
Then the priest
shall reckon unto him the worth of thy
estimation, even unto the year of the jubile: and he
shall give thine
estimation in that day, as a holy thing unto the LORD.
then the priest
shall calculate for him the value up to the Year of
Jubilee, and the man
shall pay the
assessed value on that day as a sacred offering to the LORD.
In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong.
In the Year of
Jubilee the field
shall return to the one from whom it was bought—the original owner of the land.
And all thy estimations
shall be according to the
shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs
shall be the
shekel.
Only the
firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD’S
firstling, no man
shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD’S.
And if it be of an unclean beast, then he
shall redeem it according to thine
estimation, and
shall add a fifth part of it
thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it
shall be sold according to thy
estimation.
But if it is among the unclean animals, then he may
redeem it according to your
valuation and add a fifth of its value. If it is not redeemed, then it
shall be sold according to your
valuation.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man
shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession,
shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
Nothing that a man sets apart to the LORD from all he owns—whether a man, an animal, or his inherited land—can be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.
None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.
No person set apart for destruction may be
ransomed; he must surely be put to death.
And if a man will at all
redeem ought of his
tithes, he
shall add
thereto the fifth part thereof.
If a man wishes to
redeem part of his
tithe, he must add a fifth to its value.
And concerning the
tithe of the
herd, or of the flock, even of
whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth
shall be holy unto the LORD.
Every tenth animal from the
herd or flock that passes under the
shepherd’s rod will be holy to the LORD.
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
He must not
inspect whether it is good or bad, and he
shall not make any substitution. But if he does make a substitution, both the animal and its substitute
shall become holy; they cannot be redeemed.’”
From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—
everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.
And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.
And these are the names of the men that
shall stand with you: of the tribe of
Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of
Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
“Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.
But thou
shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they
shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they
shall minister unto it, and
shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
Instead, you are to
appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They
shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites
shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites
shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.
But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
Every man of the children of Israel
shall pitch by his own standard, with the
ensign of their father’s house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation
shall they pitch.
“The Israelites are to camp around the Tent of Meeting at a distance from it, each man under his standard, with the banners of his family.
And on the east side toward the rising of the sun
shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of
Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah.
On the east side, toward the
sunrise, the divisions of Judah are to camp under their standard:
And those that do pitch next unto him
shall be the tribe of
Issachar: and Nethaneel the son of Zuar
shall be captain of the children of
Issachar.
The tribe of
Issachar will camp next to it. The leader of the Issacharites is Nethanel son of Zuar,
Then the tribe of

Next will be the tribe of

All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were an hundred thousand and
fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These
shall first set forth.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Judah is 186,400; they shall set out first.
On the south side
shall be the standard of the camp of
Reuben according to their armies: and the captain of the children of
Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.
On the south side, the divisions of
Reuben are to camp under their standard:
And those which pitch by him

Simeon: and the captain of the children of
Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
The tribe of
Simeon will camp next to it. The leader of the Simeonites is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai,
Then the tribe of
Gad: and the captain of the sons of
Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.
Next will be the tribe of
Gad. The leader of the Gadites is Eliasaph son of Deuel,
All that were numbered in the camp of
Reuben were an hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies. And they
shall set forth in the second rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of
Reuben is 151,450; they
shall set out second.
Then the tabernacle of the congregation
shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they
encamp, so
shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards.
In the middle of the camps, the Tent of Meeting is to travel with the camp of the Levites. They are to set out in the order they
encamped, each in his own place under his standard.
On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.
On the west side, the divisions of Ephraim are to camp under their standard:
And by him
shall be the tribe of
Manasseh: and the captain of the children of
Manasseh shall be
Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
The tribe of
Manasseh will be next to it. The leader of the Manassites is
Gamaliel son of Pedahzur,
Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.
Next will be the tribe of Benjamin. The leader of the Benjamites is Abidan son of Gideoni,
All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Ephraim is 108,100; they shall set out third.
The standard of the camp of
Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of the children of
Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
On the north side, the divisions of
Dan are to camp under their standard:
And those that
encamp by him
shall be the tribe of Asher: and the captain of the children of Asher
shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.
The tribe of Asher will camp next to it. The leader of the Asherites is Pagiel son of Ocran,
Then the tribe of
Naphtali: and the captain of the children of
Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.
Next will be the tribe of
Naphtali. The leader of the Naphtalites is Ahira son of Enan,
All they that were numbered in the camp of
Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They
shall go
hindmost with their standards.
The total number of men in the camp of
Dan is 157,600; they
shall set out last, under their standards.”
And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle.
And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
They
shall take care of all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and
fulfill obligations for the Israelites by attending to the service of the tabernacle.
And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.
And thou
shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they
shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
So you
shall appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the
firstborn that openeth the
matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites
shall be mine;
“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in place of every
firstborn Israelite from the
womb. The Levites belong to Me,
Because all the
firstborn are mine; for on the day that I
smote all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
hallowed unto me all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine
shall they be: I am the LORD.
for all the
firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the
firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”
Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.
“Number the Levites by their families and clans. You are to count every male a month old or more.”
The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.
The Gershonite clans were to camp on the west, behind the tabernacle,
And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.
and the leader of the families of the Gershonites was Eliasaph son of Lael.
And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
The duties of the Gershonites at the Tent of Meeting were the tabernacle and tent, its covering, the
curtain for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,
The families of the sons of
Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.
The clans of the Kohathites were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle,
And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
and the leader of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.
And their charge
shall be the ark, and the table, and the
candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary
wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.
Their duties were the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used with them, and the
curtain—all the service for these items.
And
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest
shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
The chief of the leaders of the Levites was
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.
And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.
The leader of the families of the Merarites was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.
And under the
custody and charge of the sons of Merari
shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth
thereto,
The duties assigned to the sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its
equipment—all the service for these items,
But those that
encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward,
shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the
sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
And thou
shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the
firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.
You are to take the Levites for Me—I am the LORD—in place of all the
firstborn of Israel, and the
livestock of the Levites in place of all the
firstborn of the
livestock of the Israelites.”
Take the Levites instead of all the
firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites
shall be mine: I am the LORD.
“Take the Levites in place of all the
firstborn of Israel, and the
livestock of the Levites in place of their
livestock. The Levites belong to Me; I am the LORD.
Thou
shalt even take five shekels
apiece by the
poll, after the
shekel of the sanctuary
shalt thou take them: (the
shekel is twenty gerahs:)
you are to collect five shekels for each one, according to the sanctuary
shekel of twenty gerahs.
And thou
shalt give the money,
wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.
Give the money to Aaron and his sons as the
redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”
This
shall be the service of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
This service of the Kohathites at the Tent of Meeting regards the most holy things.
And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron
shall come, and his sons, and they
shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
And
shall put
thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and
shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and
shall put in the
staves thereof.
They are to place over this a covering of fine leather, spread a solid blue cloth over it, and
insert its poles.
