But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with
envy, and spake against those things which were
spoken by Paul,
contradicting and
blaspheming.
Then Paul and
Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been
spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge
yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
Then Paul and
Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you
reject it and do not consider
yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
And it came to pass in
Iconium, that they went both together into the
synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of

spoken of Paul.
Among those
listening was a woman named
Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of
Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to
respond to Paul’s message.

This man was
instructed in the way of the Lord; and being
fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught
diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.

clamor arose, and some
scribes from the party of the
Pharisees got up and
contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has
spoken to him?”

First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is
spoken of throughout the whole world.
First, I
thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed all over the world.

Do not allow what you consider good, then, to be spoken of as evil.
But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
For if I by grace be a
partaker, why am I evil
spoken of for that for which I give
thanks?
So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will
anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
For all the promises of God in him are
yea, and in him
Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
For all the promises of God are “
Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “
Amen” is
spoken to the glory of God.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
And in keeping with what is written: “I believed, therefore I have spoken,” we who have the same spirit of faith also believe and therefore speak,
O ye
Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
We have
spoken freely to you,
Corinthians. Our hearts are open wide.
And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I
preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
I went in
response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I
preach among the Gentiles. But I
spoke privately to those recognized as leaders, for fear that I was running or had already run in vain.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your seed,” meaning One, who is Christ.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the
presbytery.
Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you through the prophecy spoken over you at the laying on of the hands of the elders.
God, who at
sundry times and in
divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets.
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

For if the word
spoken by angels was
stedfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
For if the message
spoken by angels was binding, and every
transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first
announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,
And Moses
verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be
spoken after;

spoken about the seventh day in this manner: “And on the seventh day God rested from all His works.”
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts.
God again designated a certain day as “
Today,” when a long time later He
spoke through David as was just stated: “
Today, if you hear His voice, do not
harden your hearts.”
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.
For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
For when Moses had
spoken every
precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of
calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and
hyssop, and
sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
For when Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of
calves and goats, along with water, scarlet wool, and
hyssop, and
sprinkled the
scroll and all the people,

And the sound of a
trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be
spoken to them any more:
to a
trumpet blast or to a voice that made its hearers
beg that no further word be
spoken.
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Remember your leaders who
spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and
imitate their faith.
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have
spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering
affliction, and of
patience.
Brothers, as an example of
patience in
affliction, take the prophets who
spoke in the name of the Lord.
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil
spoken of, but on your part he is
glorified.
If you are
insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
And many shall follow their
pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil
spoken of.
Many will follow in their
depravity, and because of them the way of truth will be
defamed.
But was
rebuked for his iniquity: the
dumb ass speaking with man’s voice
forbad the madness of the prophet.
But he was
rebuked for his
transgression by a
donkey, otherwise without speech, that
spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
by recalling what was
foretold by the holy prophets and commanded by our Lord and
Savior through your apostles.
To
execute judgment upon all, and to
convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have
spoken against him.
to
execute judgment on
everyone, and to
convict all the ungodly of every ungodly act of wickedness and every harsh word
spoken against Him by ungodly sinners.”
But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
But you, beloved, remember what was
foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to put it in writing. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the small
scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel standing on the sea and on the land.”
And I
beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a

spoke like a
dragon.
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

Howbeit Josias did not turn back his
chariot from him, but undertook to fight with him, not regarding the words of the prophet Jeremy
spoken by the mouth of the Lord:
And he did evil also in the sight of the Lord, and cared not for the words that were spoken unto him by the prophet Jeremy from the mouth of the Lord.
Who became servants to him and his children, till the Persians reigned, to fulfil the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremy:
And he said unto them, Declare unto us your mind concerning the writings. Then began the first, who had spoken of the strength of wine;
O ye men, is not wine the strongest, that enforceth to do thus? And when he had so spoken, he held his peace.
Then the second, that had spoken of the strength of the king, began to say,
Then the third, who had spoken of women, and of the truth, (this was Zorobabel) began to speak.
And he commanded that
whosoever should
transgress,
yea, or make light of any thing
afore spoken or written, out of his own house should a tree be taken, and he
thereon be
hanged, and all his goods seized for the king.
Then
cried the whole multitude, and said with a loud voice, Like as thou hast
spoken, so will we do.
Now when I had
spoken these words, the angel that came to me the night
afore was sent unto me,
And I said, No, Lord: but of very grief have I
spoken: for my
reins pain me every hour, while I labour to
comprehend the way of the most High, and to seek out part of his judgment.
Then said he unto me, Like as thou canst do none of these things that I have spoken of, even so canst thou not find out my judgment, or in the end the love that I have promised unto my people.
All this have I spoken before thee, O Lord, because thou madest the world for our sakes
Nevertheless they believed not him, nor yet the prophets after him, no nor me which have spoken unto them,
Then answered he me, and said, Some things hast thou
spoken aright, and according unto thy words it shall be.
Like as I have spoken now, so shall it come to pass.
For the rest of my people shall he deliver with mercy, those that have been pressed upon my borders, and he shall make them joyful until the coming of the day of judgment,
whereof I have
spoken unto thee from the beginning.
Whereas thou hast spoken of them that are left behind, this is the interpretation:
And that again God will have mercy on them, and bring them again into the land, where they shall build a temple, but not like to the first, until the time of that age be fulfilled; and afterward they shall return from all places of their captivity, and build up Jerusalem gloriously, and the house of God shall be built in it for ever with a glorious building, as the prophets have spoken thereof.
For as I live, and by the power of my kingdom,
whatsoever I have
spoken, that will I do by mine hand.
And thou, Achior, an
hireling of
Ammon, which hast
spoken these words in the day of thine iniquity, shalt see my face no more from this day, until I take
vengeance of this nation that came out of Egypt.
And if thou
persuade thyself in thy mind that they shall be taken, let not thy countenance fall: I have
spoken it, and none of my words shall be in vain.

spoken in the midst of the princes of Assur, and
whatsoever Holofernes had
spoken proudly against the house of Israel.

fainted for lack of water; for
Judith had heard all the words that Ozias had
spoken unto them, and that he had
sworn to deliver the city unto the Assyrians after five days;
And they came unto her, and she said unto them, Hear me now, O ye governors of the inhabitants of Bethulia: for your words that ye have spoken before the people this day are not right, touching this oath which ye made and pronounced between God and you, and have promised to deliver the city to our enemies, unless within these days the Lord turn to help you.
Then said Ozias to her, All that thou hast
spoken hast thou
spoken with a good heart, and there is none that may
gainsay thy words.
But the people were very
thirsty, and compelled us to do unto them as we have
spoken, and to bring an oath upon ourselves, which we will not break.
And she said unto them, Command the gates of the city to be opened unto me, that I may go forth to
accomplish the things
whereof ye have
spoken with me. So they commanded the young men to open unto her, as she had
spoken.
Now as concerning the matter, which Achior did speak in thy council, we have heard his words; for the men of Bethulia saved him, and he declared unto them all that he had spoken unto thee.

witty in thy words: surely if thou do as thou hast
spoken thy God shall be my God, and thou shalt dwell in the house of king Nabuchodonosor, and shalt be
renowned through the whole earth.

spoken, and yet men
justify him: the poor man
slipped, and yet they
rebuked him too; he spake wisely, and could have no place.
They shall not be sought for in publick counsel, nor sit high in the congregation: they shall not sit on the judges’ seat, nor understand the sentence of judgment: they cannot declare justice and judgment; and they shall not be found where parables are spoken.
For thou hast sent out thy wrath and
indignation upon us, as thou hast
spoken by thy servants the prophets, saying,
To whom thou hast
spoken and promised, that thou wouldest multiply their seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that lieth upon the
seashore.
Then all the people turned them toward him, and said, What mean these words that thou hast spoken?
But if ye can
certify me that
Bel devoureth them, then Daniel shall die: for he hath
spoken blasphemy against
Bel. And Daniel said unto the king, Let it be according to thy word.
And when he had taken all away, he went into his own land, having made a great
massacre, and
spoken very proudly.
