And
the shekel shall be twenty gerahs: twenty shekels, five and twenty shekels, fifteen shekels, shall be your
maneh.
The shekel will consist of twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels
plus twenty-five shekels
plus fifteen shekels will equal one
mina.
This is
the oblation that ye shall offer;
the sixth part of an
ephah of an homer of wheat, and ye shall give
the sixth part of an
ephah of an homer of barley:
This is
the contribution you are to offer: a sixth of an
ephah from each homer of wheat, and a sixth of an
ephah from each homer of barley.
Concerning
the ordinance of oil,
the bath of oil, ye shall offer
the tenth part of a bath out of
the cor, which is an homer of ten baths; for ten baths are an homer:
The prescribed portion of oil, measured by the bath, is a tenth of a bath from each cor (a cor consists of ten baths or one homer, since ten baths are equivalent to a homer).
And one lamb out of
the flock, out of two hundred, out of
the fat pastures of Israel; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for
them, saith
the Lord GOD.
And one sheep shall be given from each flock of two hundred from
the well-watered pastures of Israel.
These are for
the grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make
atonement for
the people, declares
the Lord GOD.
All
the people of
the land shall give this
oblation for
the prince in Israel.
All
the people of
the land must
participate in this contribution for
the prince in Israel.
And it shall be
the prince’s part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in
the feasts, and in
the new moons, and in
the sabbaths, in all
solemnities of
the house of Israel: he shall prepare
the sin offering, and
the meat offering, and
the burnt offering, and
the peace offerings, to make
reconciliation for
the house of Israel.
And it shall be
the prince’s part to provide
the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for
the feasts, New Moons, and Sabbaths—for all
the appointed feasts of
the house of Israel. He will provide
the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings to make
atonement for
the house of Israel.
Thus saith
the Lord GOD; In
the first month, in
the first day of
the month, thou shalt take a young
bullock without
blemish, and
cleanse the sanctuary:
This is what
the Lord GOD says: ‘On
the first day of
the first month you are to take a young bull without
blemish and
purify the sanctuary.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court.
And
the priest is to take some of
the blood from
the sin offering and put it on
the doorposts of
the temple, on
the four corners of
the ledge of
the altar, and on
the gateposts of
the inner court.
And so thou shalt do
the seventh day of
the month for every one that erreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye
reconcile the house.
You must do
the same thing on
the seventh day of
the month for
anyone who strays
unintentionally or in ignorance. In this way you will make
atonement for
the temple.
On
the fourteenth day of
the first month you are to observe
the Passover, a feast of seven days, during which
unleavened bread shall be eaten.
And upon that day shall
the prince prepare for himself and for all
the people of
the land a
bullock for a sin offering.
On that day the prince shall provide a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land.
And seven days of
the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to
the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without
blemish daily
the seven days; and a
kid of
the goats daily for a sin offering.
Each day during
the seven days of
the feast, he shall provide seven bulls and seven rams without
blemish as a burnt offering to
the LORD, along with a male goat for a sin offering.
In
the seventh month, in
the fifteenth day of
the month, shall he do
the like in
the feast of
the seven days, according to
the sin offering, according to
the burnt offering, and according to
the meat offering, and according to
the oil.
During
the seven days of
the feast that begins on
the fifteenth day of
the seventh month, he is to make
the same provision for sin offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, and oil.’
Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
“This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘The gate of the inner court that faces east must be kept shut during the six days of work, but on the Sabbath day and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.
And
the prince shall enter by
the way of
the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by
the post of
the gate, and
the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at
the threshold of
the gate:
then he shall go forth; but
the gate shall not be shut until
the evening.
The prince is to enter from
the outside through
the portico of
the gateway and stand by
the gatepost, while
the priests sacrifice his burnt offerings and peace offerings. He is to bow in worship at
the threshold of
the gate and
then depart, but
the gate must not be shut until evening.
Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons.
On
the Sabbaths and New Moons
the people of
the land are also to bow in worship before
the LORD at
the entrance to that
gateway.
And
the burnt offering that
the prince shall offer unto
the LORD in
the sabbath day shall be six lambs without
blemish, and a ram without
blemish.
The burnt offering that
the prince presents to
the LORD on
the Sabbath day shall be six
unblemished male lambs and an
unblemished ram.
And
the meat offering shall be an
ephah for a ram, and
the meat offering for
the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
The grain offering with
the ram shall be one
ephah, and
the grain offering with
the lambs shall be as much as he is able, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
And in
the day of
the new moon it shall be a young
bullock without
blemish, and six lambs, and a ram:
they shall be without
blemish.
On
the day of
the New Moon he shall offer a young,
unblemished bull, six lambs, and a ram without
blemish.
And he shall prepare a meat offering, an
ephah for a
bullock, and an
ephah for a ram, and for
the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
He is to provide a grain offering of an
ephah with
the bull, an
ephah with
the ram, and as much as he is able with
the lambs, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
And when
the prince shall enter, he shall go in by
the way of
the porch of that gate, and he shall go forth by
the way
thereof.
When
the prince enters, he shall go in through
the portico of
the gateway, and he shall go out
the same way.
But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
When
the people of
the land come before
the LORD at
the appointed feasts,
whoever enters by
the north gate to worship must go out by
the south gate, and
whoever enters by
the south gate must go out by
the north gate. No one is to return through
the gate by which he entered, but each must go out by
the opposite gate.
And the prince in the midst of them, when they go in, shall go in; and when they go forth, shall go forth.
When the people enter, the prince shall go in with them, and when they leave, he shall leave.
And in
the feasts and in
the solemnities the meat offering shall be an
ephah to a
bullock, and
ephah to a ram, and to
the lambs as he is able to give, and an
hin of oil to an
ephah.
At
the festivals and appointed feasts,
the grain offering shall be an
ephah with a bull, an
ephah with a ram, and as much as one is able to give with
the lambs, along with a
hin of oil per
ephah.
Now when
the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings
voluntarily unto
the LORD, one shall
then open him
the gate that looketh toward
the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on
the sabbath day:
then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut
the gate.
When
the prince makes a
freewill offering to
the LORD, whether a burnt offering or a peace offering,
the gate facing east must be opened for him. He is to offer his burnt offering or peace offering just as he does on
the Sabbath day.
Then he shall go out, and
the gate must be closed after he goes out.
Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt offering unto
the LORD of a lamb of
the first year without
blemish: thou shalt prepare it every morning.
And you shall provide an
unblemished year-old lamb as a daily burnt offering to
the LORD; you are to offer it every morning.
And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning,
the sixth part of an
ephah, and
the third part of an
hin of oil, to temper with
the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual
ordinance unto
the LORD.
You are also to provide with it every morning a grain offering of a sixth of an
ephah with a third of a
hin of oil to
moisten the fine flour—a grain offering to
the LORD. This is a permanent statute.
Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.
Thus they shall provide the lamb, the grain offering, and the oil every morning as a regular burnt offering.’
Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons’; it shall be their possession by inheritance.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘If the prince gives a gift to any of his sons as an inheritance, it will belong to his descendants. It will become their property by inheritance.
But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons’ for them.
But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will belong to that servant until
the year of freedom;
then it will
revert to
the prince. His inheritance belongs only to his sons; it shall be
theirs.
Moreover the prince shall not take of the people’s inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.
The prince must not take any of
the inheritance of
the people by
evicting them from
their property. He is to provide an inheritance for his sons from his own property, so that none of My people will be displaced from his property.’”
After he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the two sides westward.
Then the man brought me through the entrance at the side of the gate into the holy chambers facing north, which belonged to the priests, and he showed me a place there at the far western end
Then said he unto me, This is
the place where
the priests shall
boil the trespass offering and
the sin offering, where
they shall
bake the meat offering; that
they bear
them not out into
the utter court, to
sanctify the people.
and said to me, “This is
the place where
the priests shall
boil the guilt offering and
the sin offering, and where
they shall
bake the grain offering, so that
they do not bring
them into
the outer court and
transmit holiness to
the people.”
Then he brought me forth into the utter court, and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court.
Then he brought me into the outer court and led me around to its four corners, and I saw a separate court in each of its corners.
In the four corners of the court there were courts joined of forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four corners were of one measure.
In the four corners of the outer court there were enclosed courts, each forty cubits long and thirty cubits wide. Each of the four corner areas had the same dimensions.
And there was a row of building round about in them, round about them four, and it was made with boiling places under the rows round about.
Around the inside of each of the four courts was a row of masonry with ovens built at the base of the walls on all sides.
Then said he unto me,
These are
the places of
them that
boil, where
the ministers of
the house shall
boil the sacrifice of
the people.
And he said to me, “
These are
the kitchens where those who minister at
the temple will
cook the sacrifices offered by
the people.”
Afterward he brought me again unto
the door of
the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under
the threshold of
the house eastward: for
the forefront of
the house stood toward
the east, and
the waters came down from under from
the right side of
the house, at
the south side of
the altar.
Then the man brought me back to
the entrance of
the temple, and I saw water flowing from under
the threshold of
the temple toward
the east (for
the temple faced east).
The water was coming down from under
the south side of
the temple, south of
the altar.
Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
Next he brought me out through
the north gate and led me around
the outside to
the outer gate facing east, and
there I saw
the water
trickling out from
the south side.
And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ancles.
As
the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and led me through
ankle-deep water.
Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.
Then he measured off a thousand cubits and led me through
knee-deep water. Again he measured a thousand cubits and led me through
waist-deep water.
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for
the waters were risen, waters to
swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
Once again he measured off a thousand cubits, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because
the water had risen and was deep enough for
swimming—a river that could not be crossed on foot.
And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this?
Then he brought me, and caused me to return to
the brink of
the river.
“Son of man, do you see this?” he asked. Then he led me back to the bank of the river.
Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
When I arrived, I saw a great number of trees along both banks of the river.
Then said he unto me,
These waters issue out toward
the east country, and go down into
the desert, and go into
the sea: which being brought forth into
the sea,
the waters shall be
healed.
And he said to me, “This water flows out to
the eastern region and goes down into
the Arabah. When it
empties into
the Sea,
the water
there becomes fresh.
And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth,
whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and
there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because
these waters shall come thither: for
they shall be
healed; and every thing shall live
whither the river cometh.
Wherever
the river flows,
there will be swarms of living creatures and a great number of fish, because it flows
there and makes
the waters fresh; so wherever
the river flows, everything will
flourish.
And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
Fishermen will stand by
the shore; from En-gedi to En-eglaim
they will spread
their nets to catch fish of many kinds, like
the fish of
the Great Sea.
But
the miry places
thereof and
the marishes
thereof shall not be
healed;
they shall be given to salt.
But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.
And by
the river upon
the bank
thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not
fade, neither shall
the fruit
thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because
their waters
they issued out of
the sanctuary: and
the fruit
thereof shall be for meat, and
the leaf
thereof for medicine.
Along both banks of
the river, fruit trees of all kinds will grow.
Their leaves will not wither, and
their fruit will not fail. Each month
they will bear fruit, because
the water from
the sanctuary flows to
them.
Their fruit will be used for food and
their leaves for
healing.”
Thus saith
the Lord GOD; This shall be
the border, whereby ye shall
inherit the land according to
the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “These are the boundaries by which you are to divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel; Joseph shall receive two portions.
And ye shall
inherit it, one as well as another: concerning
the which I lifted up mine hand to give it unto your fathers: and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.
You are to divide it equally among
them. Because I
swore with an
uplifted hand to give it to your forefathers, this land will fall to you as an inheritance.
And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad;
This shall be the boundary of the land:
Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between
the border of Damascus and
the border of
Hamath; Hazar-hatticon, which is by
the coast of
Hauran.
On
the north side it will extend from
the Great Sea by way of Hethlon through Lebo-
hamath to Zedad, Berothah, and Sibraim (which is on
the border between Damascus and
Hamath), as far as Hazer-hatticon, which is on
the border of
Hauran.
And
the border from
the sea shall be Hazar-enan,
the border of Damascus, and
the north northward, and
the border of
Hamath. And this is
the north side.
So
the border will run from
the Sea to Hazar-enan, along
the northern border of Damascus, with
the territory of
Hamath to
the north. This will be
the northern boundary.
And
the east side ye shall measure from
Hauran, and from Damascus, and from
Gilead, and from
the land of Israel by Jordan, from
the border unto
the east sea. And this is
the east side.
On
the east side
the border will run between
Hauran and Damascus, along
the Jordan between
Gilead and
the land of Israel, to
the Eastern Sea and as far as Tamar. This will be
the eastern boundary.
And
the south side southward, from Tamar even to
the waters of
strife in Kadesh,
the river to
the great sea. And this is
the south side southward.
On
the south side it will run from Tamar to
the waters of Meribath-kadesh, and along
the Brook of Egypt to
the Great Sea. This will be
the southern boundary.
The west side also shall be
the great sea from
the border, till a man come over against
Hamath. This is
the west side.
And on
the west side,
the Great Sea will be
the boundary up to a point opposite Lebo-
hamath. This will be
the western boundary.
So shall ye divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.
You are to divide this land among
yourselves according to
the tribes of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to
the strangers that
sojourn among you, which shall
beget children among you: and
they shall be unto you as born in
the country among
the children of Israel;
they shall have inheritance with you among
the tribes of Israel.
You shall
allot it as an inheritance for
yourselves and for
the foreigners who dwell among you and who have children. You are to treat
them as native-born Israelites; along with you,
they shall be
allotted an inheritance among
the tribes of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.
In whatever tribe a foreigner dwells, you are to
assign his inheritance
there,” declares
the Lord GOD.
Now
these are
the names of
the tribes. From
the north end to
the coast of
the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to
Hamath, Hazar-enan,
the border of Damascus northward, to
the coast of
Hamath; for
these are his sides east and west; a portion for
Dan.
“Now
these are
the names of
the tribes: At
the northern frontier,
Dan will have one portion bordering
the road of Hethlon to Lebo-
hamath and running on to Hazar-enan on
the border of Damascus with
Hamath to
the north, and extending from
the east side to
the west side.
And by
the border of
Dan, from
the east side unto
the west side, a portion for Asher.
Asher will have one portion bordering
the territory of
Dan from east to west.
And by
the border of Asher, from
the east side even unto
the west side, a portion for
Naphtali.
Naphtali will have one portion bordering
the territory of Asher from east to west.
And by
the border of
Naphtali, from
the east side unto
the west side, a portion for
Manasseh.
Manasseh will have one portion bordering
the territory of
Naphtali from east to west.
And by
the border of
Manasseh, from
the east side unto
the west side, a portion for Ephraim.
Ephraim will have one portion bordering
the territory of
Manasseh from east to west.
And by
the border of Ephraim, from
the east side even unto
the west side, a portion for
Reuben.
Reuben will have one portion bordering
the territory of Ephraim from east to west.
And by
the border of
Reuben, from
the east side unto
the west side, a portion for Judah.
Judah will have one portion bordering
the territory of
Reuben from east to west.
And by the border of Judah, from the east side unto the west side, shall be the offering which ye shall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side unto the west side: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.
Bordering
the territory of Judah, from east to west, will be
the portion you are to set apart. It will be 25,000 cubits wide, and
the length of a
tribal portion from east to west. In
the center will be
the sanctuary.
The oblation that ye shall offer unto
the LORD shall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.
The special portion you set apart to the LORD shall be 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide.
And for
them, even for
the priests, shall be this holy
oblation; toward
the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward
the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward
the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward
the south five and twenty thousand in length: and
the sanctuary of
the LORD shall be in
the midst
thereof.
This will be the holy portion for the priests. It will be 25,000 cubits long on the north side, 10,000 cubits wide on the west side, 10,000 cubits wide on the east side, and 25,000 cubits long on the south side. In the center will be the sanctuary of the LORD.
It shall be for
the priests that are
sanctified of
the sons of
Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not
astray when
the children of Israel went
astray, as
the Levites went
astray.
It will be for
the consecrated priests,
the descendants of
Zadok, who kept My charge and did not go
astray as
the Levites did when
the Israelites went
astray.
And this
oblation of
the land that is offered shall be unto
them a thing most holy by
the border of
the Levites.
It will be a special portion for them set apart from the land, a most holy portion adjacent to the territory of the Levites.
And over against the border of the priests the Levites shall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.
Bordering the territory of the priests, the Levites shall have an area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide. The whole length will be 25,000 cubits, and the width 10,000 cubits.
And
they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor
alienate the firstfruits of
the land: for it is holy unto
the LORD.
They must not sell or exchange any of it, and they must not transfer this best part of the land, for it is holy to the LORD.
And
the five thousand, that are left in
the breadth over against
the five and twenty thousand, shall be a
profane place for
the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and
the city shall be in
the midst
thereof.
The remaining area, 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, will be for common use by the city, for houses, and for pastureland. The city will be in the center of it
And these shall be the measures thereof; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.
and will have these measurements: 4,500 cubits on the north side, 4,500 cubits on the south side, 4,500 cubits on the east side, and 4,500 cubits on the west side.
And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.
The pastureland of the city will extend 250 cubits to the north, 250 cubits to the south, 250 cubits to the east, and 250 cubits to the west.
And
the residue in length over against
the oblation of
the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and it shall be over against
the oblation of
the holy portion; and
the increase
thereof shall be for food unto
them that serve
the city.
The remainder of the length bordering the holy portion and running adjacent to it will be 10,000 cubits on the east side and 10,000 cubits on the west side. Its produce will supply food for the workers of the city.
And they that serve the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel.
The workers of
the city who
cultivate it will come from all
the tribes of Israel.
All
the oblation shall be five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thousand: ye shall offer
the holy
oblation foursquare, with
the possession of
the city.
The entire portion will be a square, 25,000 cubits by 25,000 cubits. You are to set apart the holy portion, along with the city property.
And
the residue shall be for
the prince, on
the one side and on
the other of
the holy
oblation, and of
the possession of
the city, over against
the five and twenty thousand of
the oblation toward
the east border, and westward over against
the five and twenty thousand toward
the west border, over against
the portions for
the prince: and it shall be
the holy
oblation; and
the sanctuary of
the house shall be in
the midst
thereof.
The remaining area on both sides of
the holy portion and of
the property of
the city will belong to
the prince. He will own
the land adjacent to
the tribal portions, extending eastward from
the 25,000 cubits of
the holy district toward
the eastern border, and westward from
the 25,000 cubits to
the western border. And in
the center of
them will be
the holy portion and
the sanctuary of
the temple.
Moreover from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, being in the midst of that which is the prince’s, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.
So
the Levitical property and
the city property will lie in
the center of
the area belonging to
the prince—

the third year of
the reign of
Jehoiakim king of Judah,

the Lord gave
Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of

the land of
Shinar to
the house of his god; and he brought
the vessels into
the treasure house of his god.
And
the Lord delivered into his hand
Jehoiakim king of Judah, along with some of
the articles from

Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, the chief of his court officials, to bring in some Israelites from the royal family and the nobility—
Children in whom was no
blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and
cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in
them to stand in
the king’s palace, and whom
they might teach
the learning and
the tongue of
the Chaldeans.
young men without
blemish, handsome, gifted in all wisdom, knowledgeable, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in
the king’s palace—and to teach
them the language and literature of
the Chaldeans.
And
the king appointed
them a daily provision of
the king’s meat, and of
the wine which he
drank: so
nourishing them three years, that at
the end
thereof they might stand before
the king.
The king assigned them daily provisions of the royal food and wine. They were to be trained for three years, after which they were to enter the king’s service.
