kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away
captives: and he shall
array himself with the land of Egypt, as a
shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from
thence in peace.
I will
kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and
Nebuchadnezzar will burn those temples and take their gods as
captives. So he will
wrap himself with the land of Egypt as a
shepherd wraps himself in his garment, and he will depart from there unscathed.

deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from
thence, saith the LORD.
The terror you cause and the pride of your heart have
deceived you, O dwellers in the clefts of the rocks, O occupiers of the mountain summit. Though you
elevate your nest like the eagle, even from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD.

thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty
expert man; none shall return in vain.
For behold, I
stir up and bring against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the land of the north. They will line up against her; from the north she will be captured. Their arrows will be like skilled warriors who do not return empty-handed.
And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the
detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from
thence.
When they return to it, they will remove all its
detestable things and all its abominations.
And I will give her her vineyards from
thence, and the valley of
Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
There I will give back her vineyards and make the Valley of
Achor into a
gateway of hope. There she will
respond as she did in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.
Pass ye unto
Calneh, and see; and from
thence go ye to
Hamath the great: then go down to
Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Cross over to
Calneh and see; go from there to the great
Hamath; then go down to
Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
Though they
dig into
hell,
thence shall mine hand take them; though they
climb up to heaven,
thence will I bring them down:
Though they
dig down to
Sheol, from there My hand will take them; and though they
climb up to heaven, from there I will pull them down.
