dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

this the son of Joseph?” they asked.
And all they in the

hurt him not.
But Jesus
rebuked the
demon. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!” At
this, the
demon threw the man down before them all and came out without
harming him.
And they were all
amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is

All the people were overcome with
amazement and asked one another, “What is

besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do
this:
They came to Jesus and
pleaded with Him earnestly, “
This man is worthy to have You grant
this,
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes; and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”
When Jesus heard these things, he
marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
When Jesus heard
this, He
marveled at the
centurion. Turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my
messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My
messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’

And the Lord said,
Whereunto then shall I
liken the men of
this generation? and to what are they like?
“To what, then, can I compare the men of this generation? What are they like?
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a
gluttonous man, and a
winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at
this glutton and
drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
Now when the
Pharisee which had
bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying,
This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman
this is that toucheth him: for she is a
sinner.
When the
Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw
this, he said to himself, “If
this man were a prophet, He would know who
this is and what kind of woman is touching Him—for she is a
sinner!”
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou
this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and
wiped them with the hairs of her head.
And turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see
this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give Me water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and
wiped them with her hair.
Thou gavest me no
kiss: but
this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to
kiss my feet.
You did not
greet Me with a
kiss, but she has not stopped
kissing My feet since I arrived.
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, He told them this parable:
And other fell on good ground, and
sprang up, and bare fruit an
hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he
cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it
sprang up and produced a crop—a
hundredfold.” As Jesus said
this, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
Then His disciples asked Him what this parable meant.
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are
choked with cares and riches and pleasures of
this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
The seeds that fell among the thorns are those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are
choked by the
worries, riches, and pleasures of
this life, and their fruit does not
mature.
And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
“Where is your faith?” He asked.
Frightened and
amazed, they asked one another, “Who is
this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
When Jesus
stepped ashore, He was met by a
demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time
this man had not worn clothing or lived in a house, but he stayed in the tombs.
When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported
this in the town and
countryside.
And Herod said, John have I
beheaded: but who is
this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

beheaded John,” Herod said, “but who is
this man I hear such things about?” And he kept trying to see Jesus.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five
loaves and two fishes; except we should go and
buy meat for all
this people.
But Jesus told them, “You give them something to eat.” “We have only five
loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered, “unless we go and
buy food for all these people.”
And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;
And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
And a voice came from the cloud, saying, “
This is My Son, whom I have chosen.
Listen to Him!”
And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
After the voice had spoken, only Jesus was present with them. The disciples kept
this to themselves, and in those days they did not tell
anyone what they had seen.
But they understood not
this saying, and it was
hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.
But they did not understand
this statement. It was
veiled from them so that they could not
comprehend it, and they were afraid to ask Him about it.
And said unto them,
Whosoever shall receive
this child in my name receiveth me: and
whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
And He said to them, “
Whoever welcomes
this little child in My name welcomes Me, and
whoever welcomes Me welcomes the One who sent Me. For
whoever is the least among all of you, he is the greatest.”
And when his disciples James and John saw
this, they said, Lord,
wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and
consume them, even as Elias did?
When the disciples James and John saw
this, they asked, “Lord, do You want us to call down fire from heaven to
consume them?”
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place,
whither he himself would come.
After
this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two
ahead of Him to every town and place He was about to visit.
And into
whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to
this house.
Whatever house you enter, begin by saying, ‘Peace to this house.’
Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do
wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of
this, that the kingdom of God is come
nigh unto you.
‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we
wipe off as a testimony against you. Yet be sure of
this: The kingdom of God is near.’
Notwithstanding in
this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather
rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Nevertheless, do not
rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but
rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
In that hour Jesus
rejoiced in spirit, and said, I
thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast
hid these things from the wise and
prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
At that time Jesus
rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Yes, Father, for
this was well-pleasing in Your sight.
And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this and you will live.”
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to
Jericho, and fell among
thieves, which
stripped him of his
raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Jesus took up
this question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to
Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers. They
stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead.
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say,
This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of
Jonas the prophet.
As the crowds were increasing, Jesus said, “
This is a wicked generation. It demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of
Jonah.
For as
Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to
this generation.
For as
Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will be a sign to
this generation.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of
this generation, and
condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of
this generation and
condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.
The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with
this generation, and shall
condemn it: for they
repented at the preaching of
Jonas; and, behold, a greater than
Jonas is here.
The men of
Nineveh will stand at the judgment with
this generation and
condemn it; for they
repented at the preaching of
Jonah, and now One greater than
Jonah is here.
Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall
slay and
persecute:
Because of
this, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and others they will
persecute.’
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world,
From the blood of
Abel unto the blood of
Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple:
verily I say unto you, It shall be required of
this generation.
from the blood of
Abel to the blood of
Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary.
Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to
this generation.
And he said,
This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I
bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Then he said, ‘
This is what I will do: I will
tear down my barns and will build
bigger ones, and there I will store up all my grain and my goods.
But God said unto him, Thou
fool,
this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
But God said to him, ‘You
fool!
This very night your life will be required of you. Then who will own what you have accumulated?’
So is he that layeth up
treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
This is how it will be for
anyone who stores up
treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”
And
this know, that if the
goodman of the house had known what hour the
thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
But understand
this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the
thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.
Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
“Lord,” said Peter, “are You addressing
this parable to us, or to
everyone else as well?”
Ye hypocrites, ye can
discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not
discern this time?
You hypocrites! You know how to
interpret the appearance of the earth and sky. Why don’t you know how to
interpret the present time?
And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
To
this He replied, “Do you think that these
Galileans were worse sinners than all the other
Galileans, because they suffered
this fate?
He spake also
this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his
vineyard; and he came and sought fruit
thereon, and found none.
Then Jesus told
this parable: “A man had a fig tree that was planted in his
vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.
Then said he unto the dresser of his
vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on
this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
So he said to the keeper of the
vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on
this fig tree and
haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone
this year also, till I shall
dig about it, and dung it:
‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone again
this year, until I
dig around it and
fertilize it.
And ought not
this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom
Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from
this bond on the sabbath day?
Then should not
this daughter of Abraham, whom
Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released from her
bondage on the Sabbath day?”
And when he had said these things, all his
adversaries were
ashamed: and all the people
rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
The same day there came certain of the
Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
At that very hour, some
Pharisees came to Jesus and told Him, “Leave
this place and get away, because Herod wants to kill You.”
And he that
bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give
this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give
this man your seat.’ And in
humiliation, you will have to take the last place.
And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
When one of those
reclining with Him heard
this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is
everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being
angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in
hither the poor, and the
maimed, and the
halt, and the blind.
The servant returned and reported all
this to his master. Then the owner of the house became
angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and
alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the
crippled, the blind, and the
lame.’
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’
And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
Then Jesus told them this parable:
For
this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be
merry.
For
this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to
celebrate.
