So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of
Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which
turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
So He drove out the man and stationed
cherubim on the east side of the Garden of
Eden, along with a
whirling sword of flame to guard the way to the tree of life.
And
Shem and
Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
Then
Shem and
Japheth took a garment and placed it across their shoulders, and walking backward, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were
turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness.
And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and
smote all the country of the
Amalekites, and also the
Amorites that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.
Then they
turned back to
invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the
Amalekites, as well as the
Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
And the men
turned their faces from thence, and went toward
Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
And the two men
turned away and went toward
Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.
And he said, Behold now, my lords,
turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and
tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said,
Nay; but we will
abide in the street all night.
and said, “My lords, please
turn aside into the house of your servant; wash your feet and
spend the night. Then you can rise early and go on your way.” “No,” they answered, “we will
spend the night in the square.”
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they
turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did
bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
But Lot insisted so strongly that they followed him into his house. He prepared a feast for them and
baked unleavened bread, and they
ate.
And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; but if not, let me know, so that I may go elsewhere.”
And
tarry with him a few days, until thy brother’s
fury turn away;
Stay with him for a while, until your brother’s
fury subsides—
Until thy brother’s anger
turn away from thee, and he
forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and
fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?
until your brother’s
rage against you wanes and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send for you and bring you back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?”
And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.
About that time, Judah left his brothers and settled near a man named Hirah, an Adullamite.
And he
turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What
wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?
Not
realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.” “What will you give me for sleeping with you?” she inquired.
And he
turned himself about from them, and
wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them
Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.
And he
turned away from them and
wept. When he
turned back and spoke to them, he took
Simeon from them and had him bound before their eyes.
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
“My silver has been returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they
turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”
And Moses said, I will now
turn aside, and see this great sight, why the
bush is not burnt.
So Moses thought, “I must go over and see this
marvelous sight. Why is the
bush not burning up?”
And when the LORD saw that he
turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the
bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.
When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from within the
bush, “Moses, Moses!” “Here I am,” he answered.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
“Stretch out your hand and
grab it by the tail,” the LORD said to Moses, who reached out his hand and caught the
snake, and it
turned back into a staff in his hand.
And he said, Put thine hand into thy
bosom again. And he put his hand into his
bosom again; and
plucked it out of his
bosom, and, behold, it was
turned again as his other flesh.
“Put your hand back inside your
cloak,” said the LORD. So Moses put his hand back inside his
cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his skin.
Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river’s
brink against he come; and the rod which was
turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.
Go to Pharaoh in the morning as you see him walking out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a
snake.
Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will
smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be
turned to blood.
This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD. Behold, with the staff in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will turn to blood.
And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and
smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were
turned to blood.
Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials, Aaron raised the staff and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was turned to blood.
And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.
Instead, Pharaoh turned around, went into his palace, and did not take any of this to heart.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and
smite the dust of the land, that it may become
lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.’”
And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and
smote the dust of the earth, and it became
lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became
lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
This they did, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth, gnats came upon man and beast. All the dust of the earth turned into gnats throughout the land of Egypt.
And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
They will fill your houses and the houses of all your officials and every Egyptian—something neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen since the day they came into this land.’” Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh’s presence.
And the LORD
turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one
locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
And the LORD changed the wind to a very strong west wind that carried off the locusts and
blew them into the Red Sea. Not a single
locust remained
anywhere in Egypt.
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they
turn and
encamp before
Pi-hahiroth, between
Migdol and the sea, over against
Baal-zephon: before it shall ye
encamp by the sea.
“Tell the Israelites to
turn back and
encamp before
Pi-hahiroth, between
Migdol and the sea. You are to
encamp by the sea, directly opposite
Baal-zephon.
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
I will send My terror
ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you
encounter. I will make all your enemies
turn and run.
They have
turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a
molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed
thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
How quickly they have
turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten calf and have bowed down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said, ‘These, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to
slay them in the mountains, and to
consume them from the face of the earth?
Turn from thy fierce wrath, and
repent of this evil against thy people.
Why should the Egyptians declare, ‘He brought them out with evil intent, to kill them in the mountains and
wipe them from the face of the earth’?
Turn from Your fierce anger and relent from doing
harm to Your people.
And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.
Then Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides, front and back.
And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he
turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of
Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
Thus the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of
Nun would not leave the tent.
And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
And you are to
celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the
turn of the year.
And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is
turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of
leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and
pronounce him unclean.
The priest is to examine the
infection on his skin, and if the hair in the
infection has
turned white and the
sore appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a skin disease. After the priest examines him, he must
pronounce him unclean.
If the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and in sight be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white; then the priest shall shut up him that hath the plague seven days:
If, however, the spot on his skin is white and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not
turned white, the priest shall
isolate the
infected person for seven days.
And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the rising be white in the skin, and it have turned the hair white, and there be quick raw flesh in the rising;
The priest will examine him, and if there is a white swelling on the skin that has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the swelling,
Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the
leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall
pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all
turned white: he is clean.
the priest shall examine him, and if the disease has covered his entire body, he is to
pronounce the
infected person clean. Since it has all
turned white, he is clean.
Or if the raw flesh turn again, and be changed unto white, he shall come unto the priest;
But if the raw flesh changes and turns white, he must go to the priest.
And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be
turned into white; then the priest shall
pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.
The priest will reexamine him, and if the
infection has
turned white, the priest is to
pronounce the
infected person clean; then he is clean.
And if, when the priest
seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be
turned white; the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of
leprosy broken out of the
boil.
The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has
turned white, the priest shall
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection that has broken out in the
boil.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be
turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a
leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
the priest must examine it. If the hair in the spot has
turned white and the spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to
yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.
Do not
turn to idols or make for
yourselves molten gods. I am the LORD your God.
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be
defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
You must not
turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out, or you will be
defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
And the soul that
turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to
prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant with you.
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold,
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon
Miriam, and, behold, she was
leprous.
As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly
Miriam became
leprous, white as snow. Aaron
turned toward her, saw that she was
leprous,
(Now the
Amalekites and the
Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) To
morrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
Now since the
Amalekites and
Canaanites are living in the valleys,
turn back
tomorrow and head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”
For the
Amalekites and the
Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are
turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.
For there the
Amalekites and
Canaanites will face you, and you will fall by the sword. Because you have
turned away from the LORD, He will not be with you.”
And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
But when the congregation gathered against them, Moses and Aaron turned toward the Tent of Meeting, and suddenly the cloud covered it and the glory of the LORD appeared.
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not
turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
Thus
Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel
turned away from him.
So
Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through their territory, and Israel
turned away from them.
Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.
“Let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
And they
turned and went up by the way of
Bashan: and
Og the king of
Bashan went out against them, he, and all his people, to the battle at Edrei.
Then they
turned and went up the road to
Bashan, and
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.
And the
ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the
ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and
Balaam smote the
ass, to
turn her into the way.
When the
donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she
turned off the path and went into a field. So
Balaam beat her to return her to the path.
And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
And the angel of the LORD moved on
ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to
turn to the right or left.
And the
ass saw me, and
turned from me these three times: unless she had
turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
The
donkey saw me and
turned away from me these three times. If she had not
turned away, then by now I would surely have killed you and let her live.”
And when
Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to
bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
And when
Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to
bless Israel, he did not resort to
sorcery as on previous occasions, but he
turned his face toward the wilderness.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and
hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be
turned away from Israel.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and
execute them in broad
daylight before the LORD, so that His fierce anger may
turn away from Israel.”
Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath
turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was
zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
“
Phinehas son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has
turned My wrath away from the Israelites; for he was
zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not
consume the Israelites in My zeal.
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to commit
trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
“Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of
Balaam, to
turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.
For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will be the cause of their destruction.”
And they removed from Etham, and
turned again unto
Pi-hahiroth, which is before
Baal-zephon: and they pitched before
Migdol.
They set out from Etham and
turned back to
Pi-hahiroth, opposite
Baal-zephon, and they camped near
Migdol.
And your border shall
turn from the south to the
ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon:
cross south of the
Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and go south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go on to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon,
And the border shall
fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
where it will
turn from Azmon, join the
Brook of Egypt, and end at the Sea.
Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the
Amorites, and unto all the places
nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the
vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the
Canaanites, and unto
Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.
Resume your journey and go to the hill country of the
Amorites; go to all the
neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the hill country, in the foothills, in the Negev, and along the
seacoast to the land of the
Canaanites and to
Lebanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.
And they
turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of
Eshcol, and searched it out.
They left and went up into the hill country, and came to the Valley of
Eshcol and
spied out the land.
But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.
But you are to turn back and head for the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea.”
Then we
turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount
Seir many days.
Then we
turned back and headed for the wilderness by way of the Red Sea, as the LORD had
instructed me, and for many days we
wandered around Mount
Seir.
Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
“You have been wandering around this hill country long enough; turn to the north
And when we passed by from our brethren the children of
Esau, which dwelt in
Seir, through the way of the plain from
Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we
turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
So we passed by our brothers, the descendants of
Esau, who live in
Seir. We
turned away from the Arabah road, which comes up from
Elath and Ezion-
geber, and traveled along the road of the Wilderness of Moab.
Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.
“Let us pass through your land; we will stay on the main road. We will not turn to the right or to the left.
Then we
turned, and went up the way to
Bashan: and
Og the king of
Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
Then we
turned and went up the road to
Bashan, and
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army came out to meet us in battle at Edrei.
When thou art in
tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou
turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be
obedient unto his voice;
When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and
listen to His voice.
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
So be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or to the left.
For they will
turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
because they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will swiftly destroy you.
And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly
turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a
molten image.
And the LORD said to me, “Get up and go down from here at once, for your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have
turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten image.”
So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
So I went back down the mountain while it was
blazing with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my hands.
And I looked, and, behold, ye had
sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a
molten calf: ye had
turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.
And I saw how you had
sinned against the LORD your God; you had made for
yourselves a
molten calf. You had
turned aside quickly from the way that the LORD had commanded you.
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
Take
heed to
yourselves, that your heart be not
deceived, and ye
turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
But be careful that you are not
enticed to
turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods,
And a
curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but
turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
but a
curse if you disobey the commandments of the LORD your God and
turn aside from the path I command you
today by following other gods, which you have not known.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to
turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Such a prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he has advocated rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery; he has tried to
turn you from the way in which the LORD your God has commanded you to walk. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage.
Stone him to death for trying to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
And there shall
cleave nought of the
cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may
turn from the fierceness of his anger, and
shew thee mercy, and have
compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers;
Nothing devoted to destruction shall
cling to your hands, so that the LORD will
turn from His fierce anger, grant you mercy, show you
compassion, and multiply you as He
swore to your fathers,
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the LORD your God will choose.
And thou shalt
roast and eat it in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: and thou shalt
turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.
And you shall
roast it and eat it in the place the LORD your God will choose, and in the morning you shall return to your tents.
According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall
shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.
according to the terms of law they give and the
verdict they
proclaim. Do not
turn aside to the right or to the left from the decision they declare to you.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
He must not take many wives for himself, lest his heart go
astray. He must not
accumulate for himself large amounts of silver and gold.
That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he
turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may
prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
Then his heart will not be
exalted above his countrymen, and he will not
turn aside from the commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.
Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not
hearken unto
Balaam; but the LORD thy God
turned the
curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.
Yet the LORD your God would not
listen to
Balaam, and the LORD your God
turned the
curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.
And thou shalt have a
paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou
wilt ease
thyself abroad, thou shalt
dig therewith, and shalt
turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:
For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
For the LORD your God walks throughout your camp to protect you and deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, lest He see anything unclean among you and turn away from you.
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Do not
turn aside to the right or to the left from any of the words I command you
today, and do not go after other gods to serve them.
The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
The LORD will turn the rain of your land into dust and powder; it will descend on you from the sky until you are destroyed.
Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart
turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and
wormwood;
Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you
today whose heart
turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Make sure there is no root among you that bears such poisonous and bitter fruit,
That then the LORD thy God will
turn thy captivity, and have
compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations,
whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
then He will restore you from captivity and have
compassion on you and gather you from all the nations to which the LORD your God has scattered you.
If thou shalt
hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou
turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
if you obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
But if thine heart
turn away, so that thou
wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
But if your heart
turns away and you do not
listen, but are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,
And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
And on that day I will surely hide My face because of all the evil they have done by turning to other gods.
