flee.

conspired against me, and there is none that sheweth me that my son hath made a league with the son of
Jesse, and there is none of you that is
sorry for me, or sheweth unto me that my son hath
stirred up my servant against me, to lie in
wait, as at this day?
Is that why all of you have
conspired against me? Not one of you told me that my own son had made a covenant with the son of
Jesse. Not one of you has shown
concern for me or revealed to me that my son has
stirred up my own servant to lie in
wait against me, as is the case
today.”
And Saul said unto him, Why have ye
conspired against me, thou and the son of
Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in
wait, as at this day?

Jesse conspired against me? You gave him bread and a sword and inquired of God for him so that he could rise up against me to lie in
wait, as he is doing

waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of

These are the men who served, together with their sons. From the Kohathites:
Who hitherto
waited in the king’s gate eastward: they were
porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
Shallum was their chief; he was previously stationed at the King’s Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.
Because their office was to
wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the
purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

And the priests
waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded
trumpets before them, and all Israel stood.
The priests stood at their posts, as did the Levites with the musical instruments of the LORD, which King David had made for giving
thanks to the LORD and with which David had offered praise, saying, “For His loving devotion endures
forever.” Across from the Levites, the priests sounded
trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.

Asaph, Heman, and
Jeduthun the king’s
seer. And the gatekeepers at each gate did not need to leave their position, because their fellow Levites made preparations for them.

Ahava on the
twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in
wait by the way.
On the
twelfth day of the first month we set out from the
Ahava Canal to go to Jerusalem, and the hand of our God was upon us to protect us from the hands of the enemies and
bandits along the way.
And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the
tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah

waited.
And on that same day men were appointed over the rooms that housed the supplies, contributions, firstfruits, and
tithes. The portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites were gathered into these storerooms from the fields of the villages, because Judah
rejoiced over the priests and Levites who were serving.
Let the stars of the
twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the
dawning of the day:
May its morning stars grow dark; may it
wait in vain for
daylight; may it not see the breaking of
dawn.
The troops of Tema looked, the companies of
Sheba waited for them.
The caravans of Tema look for water; the travelers of
Sheba hope to find it.
As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an
hireling looketh for the reward of his work:
Like a slave he longs for shade; like a
hireling he
waits for his wages.
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
When a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will
wait, until my
renewal comes.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
He despairs of his return from darkness; he is marked for the sword.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for
Sheol as my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,
The eye also of the
adulterer waiteth for the
twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
The eye of the
adulterer watches for
twilight. Thinking, ‘No eye will see me,’ he covers his face.
Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.
Men
listened to me with expectation,
waiting silently for my counsel.
And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
They
waited for me as for rain and
drank in my words like spring showers.
When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
But when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, darkness fell.
If mine heart have been
deceived by a woman, or if I have laid
wait at my neighbour’s door;
Now
Elihu had
waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.
Now
Elihu had
waited to speak to Job because the others were older than he.
Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
Indeed, I
waited while you spoke; I
listened to your reasoning; as you searched for words,
When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Must I wait, now that they are silent, now that they stand and no longer reply?
Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
How much less, then, when you say that you do not see Him, that your case is before Him and you must wait for Him,
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at
daybreak I lay my
plea before You and
wait in expectation.
He sitteth in the
lurking places of the villages: in the secret places
doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are
privily set against the poor.
He lies in
wait near the villages; in
ambush he slays the innocent; his eyes watch in
stealth for the helpless.
He lieth in
wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in
wait to catch the poor: he
doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
He lies in
wait like a lion in a
thicket; he lurks to seize the
oppressed; he catches the lowly in his net.
Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who are faithless without cause will be disgraced.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.
Let
integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I
wait on thee.
May
integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I
wait for You.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall
strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the LORD.
Wait patiently for the LORD; be strong and
courageous.
Wait patiently for the LORD!
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
Rest in the LORD, and
wait patiently for him:
fret not
thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Be still before the LORD and
wait patiently for Him; do not
fret when men
prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes.
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that
wait upon the LORD, they shall
inherit the earth.
For the evildoers will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will
inherit the land.
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to
slay him.
Though the wicked lie in
wait for the righteous, and seek to
slay them,
Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall
exalt thee to
inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
Wait for the LORD and keep His way, and He will raise you up to
inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou
wilt hear, O Lord my God.
I wait for You, O LORD; You will answer, O Lord my God.
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
I will praise You
forever, because You have done it. I will
wait on Your name— for it is good— in the presence of Your saints.
They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
They
conspire, they
lurk, they watch my steps while they
wait to take my life.
For, lo, they lie in
wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my
transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
See how they lie in
wait for me. Fierce men
conspire against me for no
transgression or sin of my own, O LORD.
Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
I will keep watch for You, O my strength, because You, O God, are my fortress.
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
In God alone my soul finds rest; my salvation comes from Him.
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him.
Praise
waiteth for thee, O God, in
Sion: and unto thee shall the
vow be performed.
Praise awaits You, O God, in
Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled.
“Kings and their armies

waits at home divides the
