Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they
profane not my holy name in those things which they
hallow unto me: I am the LORD.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat
with respect the sacred offerings that the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that they do not
profane My holy name. I am the LORD.
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
That which dieth of itself, or is
torn with beasts, he shall not eat to
defile himself
therewith: I am the LORD.
He must not eat anything found dead or
torn by wild animals, which would make him unclean. I am the LORD.
But if the priest
buy any soul
with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.
But if a priest buys a slave with his own money, or if a slave is born in his household, that slave may eat his food.
But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter
with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her youth. But no outsider may share it.
And if a man eat of the holy thing
unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest
with the holy thing.
If
anyone eats a sacred offering in error, he must add a fifth to its value and give the sacred offering to the priest.
Ye shall offer at your own will a male
without blemish, of the
beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.
must offer an
unblemished male from the cattle, sheep, or goats in order for it to be accepted on your behalf.
But
whatsoever hath a
blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.
You must not present anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.
When a man presents a peace offering to the LORD from the
herd or flock to
fulfill a
vow or as a
freewill offering, it must be
without blemish or defect to be acceptable.
Blind, or broken, or
maimed, or having a
wen, or
scurvy, or
scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.
You are not to present to the LORD any animal that is blind, injured, or
maimed, or anything
with a running
sore, a
festering rash, or a
scab; you must not put any of these on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
When a
bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the
dam; and from the eighth day and
thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
“When an ox, a sheep, or a goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the
sheaf an he lamb
without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
On the day you wave the
sheaf, you shall offer a year-old lamb
without blemish as a burnt offering to the LORD,
And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled
with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an
hin.
along
with its grain offering of two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed
with oil—an offering made by fire to the LORD, a pleasing
aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter
hin of wine.
Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave
loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be
baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Bring two
loaves of bread from your dwellings as a wave offering, each made from two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour,
baked with leaven, as the firstfruits to the LORD.
And ye shall offer
with the bread seven lambs
without blemish of the first year, and one young
bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the LORD,
with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the LORD.
Along
with the bread you are to present seven
unblemished male lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, together
with their grain offerings and drink offerings—an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
The priest is to wave the lambs as a wave offering before the LORD, together with the bread of the firstfruits. The bread and the two lambs shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
Without the
vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.
Outside the
veil of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps continually before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the generations to come.
And the
Israelitish woman’s son
blasphemed the name of the LORD, and
cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of
Dan:)
The son of the
Israelite woman
blasphemed the Name
with a
curse. So they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of
Dan.)
Bring forth him that hath
cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
“Take the
blasphemer outside the camp, and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole assembly stone him.
And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had
cursed out of the camp, and stone him
with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the
blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy
maid, and for thy
hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth
with thee,
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
The land must not be sold permanently, because it is Mine, and you are but foreigners and residents with Me.
And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may
redeem it
within a whole year after it is sold;
within a full year may he
redeem it.
If a man sells a house in a walled city, he retains his right of
redemption until a full year after its sale; during that year it may be redeemed.
And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
If it is not redeemed by the end of a full year, then the house in the walled city is permanently transferred to its
buyer and his descendants. It is not to be released in the
Jubilee.
But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.
But houses in villages
with no walls around them are to be considered as open fields. They may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the
Jubilee.
And if thy brother be
waxen poor, and fallen in decay
with thee; then thou shalt
relieve him:
yea, though he be a stranger, or a
sojourner; that he may live
with thee.
Now if your
countryman becomes destitute and cannot support himself among you, then you are to help him as you would a foreigner or stranger, so that he can continue to live among you.
Take thou no
usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live
with thee.
Do not take any interest or profit from him, but fear your God, that your
countryman may live among you.
But as an
hired servant, and as a
sojourner, he shall be
with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
Let him stay
with you as a
hired worker or temporary resident; he is to work for you until the Year of
Jubilee.
And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
Then he and his children are to be released, and he may return to his clan and to the property of his fathers.
Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.
You are not to rule over them harshly, but you shall fear your God.
Moreover of the children of the strangers that do
sojourn among you, of them shall ye
buy, and of their families that are
with you, which they
begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
You may also purchase them from the foreigners residing among you or their clans living among you who are born in your land. These may become your property.
And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to
inherit them for a possession; they shall be your
bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another
with rigour.
You may leave them to your sons after you to
inherit as property; you can make them slaves for life. But as for your brothers, the Israelites, no man may rule harshly over his brother.
And he shall
reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an
hired servant shall it be
with him.
He and his purchaser will then count the time from the year he sold himself up to the Year of
Jubilee. The price of his sale will be determined by the number of years, based on the daily wages of a
hired hand.
And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count
with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his
redemption.
And as a yearly
hired servant shall he be
with him: and the other shall not rule
with rigour over him in thy sight.
He shall be treated like a man
hired from year to year, but a foreign owner must not rule over him harshly in your sight.
And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
Even if he is not redeemed in any of these ways, he and his children shall be released in the Year of
Jubilee.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant with you.
Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will
punish you yet seven times for your sins.
then I will act
with hostility toward you, and I will strike you
sevenfold for your sins.
And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall
avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together
within your cities, I will send the
pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
And I will bring a sword against you to
execute the
vengeance of the covenant. Though you
withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the
iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away
with them.
Those of you who
survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away in their iniquity and will decay in the sins of their fathers.
If they shall
confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers,
with their
trespass which they
trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;
But if they will
confess their iniquity and that of their fathers in the unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, by which they have also walked in hostility toward Me—
And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their
uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity:
and I acted
with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their
uncircumcised hearts will be humbled and they will make
amends for their iniquity,
Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.
The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her sabbaths, while she lieth
desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they
despised my judgments, and because their soul
abhorred my statutes.
For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths by lying
desolate without them. And they will pay the penalty for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and
abhorred My statutes.
And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I
abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant
with them: for I am the LORD their God.
Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not
reject or
despise them so as to destroy them and break My covenant
with them; for I am the LORD their God.
But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.
But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their fathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.”
Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
“Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.
And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.
And these are the names of the men that shall stand
with you: of the tribe of
Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of
Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.
Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
“Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.
Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard,
with the
ensign of their father’s house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch.
“The Israelites are to camp around the Tent of Meeting at a distance from it, each man under his standard, with the banners of his family.
Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward
with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they
encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards.
In the middle of the camps, the Tent of Meeting is to travel
with the camp of the Levites. They are to set out in the order they
encamped, each in his own place under his standard.
All they that were numbered in the camp of
Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go
hindmost with their standards.
The total number of men in the camp of
Dan is 157,600; they shall set out last, under their standards.”
And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.
So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; they camped under their standards in this way and set out in the same way, each man with his clan and his family.
These also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spake
with Moses in mount
Sinai.
This is the account of Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD spoke
with Moses on Mount
Sinai.
And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the
candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary
wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.
Their duties were the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used
with them, and the
curtain—all the service for these items.
And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
as well as the posts of the surrounding
courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, and ropes.
And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony
with it:
Whenever the camp sets out, Aaron and his sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony
with it.
And upon the table of
shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put
thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the
bowls, and covers to cover
withal: and the continual bread shall be
thereon:
Over the table of the Presence they are to spread a blue cloth and place the plates and cups on it, along
with the
bowls and pitchers for the drink offering. The regular bread offering is to remain on it.
And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same
with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put in the
staves thereof.
And they shall spread a scarlet cloth over them, cover them
with fine leather, and
insert the poles.
And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the
candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his
tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof,
wherewith they minister unto it:
They are to take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand used for light, together
with its lamps,
wick trimmers, and
trays, as well as the jars of oil
with which to supply it.
And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put it upon a bar.
Then they shall
wrap it and all its utensils inside a covering of fine leather and put it on the carrying frame.
And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it
with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put to the
staves thereof:
Over the gold altar they are to spread a blue cloth, cover it
with fine leather, and
insert the poles.
And they shall take all the instruments of ministry,
wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them
with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put them on a bar:
They are to take all the utensils for serving in the sanctuary, place them in a blue cloth, cover them with fine leather, and put them on the carrying frame.
And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers’ skins that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
They are to carry the curtains of the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting with the covering of fine leather over it, the curtains for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,
And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve.
the curtains of the
courtyard, and the curtains for the entrance at the gate of the
courtyard that surrounds the tabernacle and altar, along
with their ropes and all the
equipment for their service. The Gershonites will do all that needs to be done
with these items.
And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,
This is the duty for all their service at the Tent of Meeting: to carry the frames of the tabernacle with its crossbars, posts, and bases,
And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords,
with all their instruments, and
with all their service: and by name ye shall
reckon the instruments of the charge of their burden.
and the posts of the surrounding
courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, and ropes, including all their
equipment and everything related to their use. You shall
assign by name the items that they are responsible to carry.
Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every
leper, and every one that hath an issue, and
whosoever is
defiled by the dead:
“Command the Israelites to send away from the camp
anyone with a skin disease,
anyone who has a bodily discharge, and
anyone who is
defiled by a dead body.
Both male and female shall ye put out,
without the camp shall ye put them; that they
defile not their camps, in the midst
whereof I dwell.
You must send away male and female alike; send them outside the camp so they will not
defile their camp, where I dwell among them.”
And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
So the Israelites did this, sending such people outside the camp. They did just as the LORD had
instructed Moses.
Then they shall
confess their sin which they have done: and he shall
recompense his
trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath
trespassed.
and must
confess the sin he has committed. He must make full
restitution, add a fifth to its value, and give all this to the one he has wronged.
But if the man has no relative to whom
restitution can be made for the wrong, the
restitution belongs to the LORD and must be given to the priest along
with the ram of
atonement, by which the
atonement is made for him.
And a man lie
with her
carnally, and it be
hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be
defiled, and there be no
witness against her, neither she be taken
with the manner;
by sleeping with another man, and it is concealed from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she was not caught in the act),
And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness
with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter water that brings a
curse.
But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be
defiled, and some man have
lain with thee beside thine husband:
Then the priest shall charge the woman
with an oath of
cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a
curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD
doth make thy
thigh to
rot, and thy
belly to swell;
And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall
blot them out
with the bitter water:
And the priest shall write these curses on a
scroll and wash them off into the bitter water.
And he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year
without blemish for a burnt offering, and one
ewe lamb of the first year
without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram
without blemish for peace offerings,
and he is to present an offering to the LORD of an
unblemished year-old male lamb as a burnt offering, an
unblemished year-old female lamb as a sin offering, and an
unblemished ram as a peace offering—
together
with their grain offerings and drink offerings—and a
basket of
unleavened cakes made from fine flour mixed
with oil and
unleavened wafers coated
with oil.
And he shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD,
with the
basket of
unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.
He shall also offer the ram as a peace offering to the LORD, along
with the
basket of
unleavened bread. And the priest is to offer the accompanying grain offering and drink offering.
And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the priest,
with the wave breast and
heave shoulder: and after that the
Nazarite may drink wine.
The priest shall then wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. This is a holy portion for the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh that was presented. After that, the
Nazirite may drink wine.
And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had
anointed it, and
sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had
anointed them, and
sanctified them;
On the day Moses finished setting up the tabernacle, he
anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings, along
with the altar and all its utensils.
And the princes offered for
dedicating of the altar in the day that it was
anointed, even the princes offered their offering before the altar.
When the altar was
anointed, the leaders approached
with their offerings for its
dedication and presented them before the altar.
And he that offered his offering the first day was Nahshon the son of
Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah:
On the first day Nahshon son of
Amminadab from the tribe of Judah drew near
with his offering.
And his offering was one silver charger, the weight thereof was an hundred and thirty shekels, one silver

with oil for a meat offering:
His offering was one silver
