Then Job replied:
Then
answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Then
Bildad the Shuhite replied:
Then Job answered and said,
Then Job answered:
If he will
contend with him, he cannot
answer him one of a thousand.
If one wished to
contend with God, he could not
answer Him one time out of a thousand.
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
How then can I answer Him or choose my arguments against Him?
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not
answer, but I would make
supplication to my judge.
For even if I were right, I could not
answer. I could only
beg my Judge for mercy.
If I had called, and he had
answered me; yet would I not believe that he had
hearkened unto my voice.
If I summoned Him and He
answered me, I do not believe He would
listen to my voice.

For He is not a man like me, that I can answer Him, that we can take each other to court.

Then call me, and I will answer, or let me speak, and You can reply.

belly with the hot east wind?

Then Job answered:
Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?

testifying?
Then
answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Then
Bildad the Shuhite replied:
Then Job answered and said,
Then Job answered:
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

answer, though I
implore him with my own mouth.
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to
answer, and for this I make
haste.
“So my anxious thoughts
compel me to
answer, because of the
turmoil within me.
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
I have heard a
rebuke that insults me, and my understanding prompts a reply.
But Job answered and said,
Then Job answered:
How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your
answers there remaineth
falsehood?
So how can you comfort me with empty words? For your
answers remain full of
falsehood.”
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
Then Job answered and said,

Then
Bildad the Shuhite replied:
But Job answered and said,
Then Job answered:
I cry unto thee, and thou

I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer; when I stand up, You merely look at me.
What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?

So these three men stopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

kindled, because they had found no
answer, and yet had condemned Job.
and he burned with anger against Job’s three friends because they had failed to

And
Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite
answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and
durst not
shew you mine opinion.
So
Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite declared: “I am young in years, while you are old; that is why I was
timid and afraid to tell you what I know.
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that
convinced Job, or that
answered his words:
I paid you full attention. But no one proved Job wrong; not one of you
rebutted his arguments.
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
But Job has not directed his words against me, and I will not answer him with your arguments.
They were
amazed, they
answered no more: they left off speaking.
Job’s friends are dismayed, with no more to say; words have escaped them.
When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Must I wait, now that they are silent, now that they stand and no longer reply?
I said, I will
answer also my part, I also will
shew mine opinion.
I too will
answer;
yes, I will declare what I know.
I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
I must speak and find relief; I must open my lips and
respond.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
Behold, you are not right in this matter. I will answer you, for God is greater than man.
Why
dost thou
strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Why do you
complain to Him that He
answers nothing a man asks?
If thou hast any thing to say,
answer me: speak, for I desire to
justify thee.
But if you have something to say,
answer me; speak up, for I would like to
vindicate you.
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.

Now
brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall inform Me.
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
And the LORD said to Job:
Shall he that contendeth with the
Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him
answer it.
“Will the faultfinder
contend with the
Almighty? Let him who argues with God give an
answer.”
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Then Job answered the LORD:
Behold, I am
vile; what shall I
answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“Behold, I am insignificant. How can I reply to You? I place my hand over my mouth.
Once have I spoken; but I will not
answer:
yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
I have spoken once, but I have no answer— twice, but I have nothing to add.”
Then
answered the LORD unto Job out of the
whirlwind, and said,
Then the LORD
answered Job out of the
whirlwind and said:
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Then Job replied to the LORD:
I
cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.
Selah.
To the LORD I cry
aloud, and He
answers me from His holy mountain.
Selah Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved my distress; show me grace and hear my prayer.
I have called upon thee, for thou
wilt hear me, O God:
incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
I call on You, O God, for You will
answer me.
Incline Your ear to me; hear my words.
They
cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he
answered them not.
They
cried for help, but there was no one to save them— to the LORD, but He did not
answer.
The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
Now know I that the LORD saveth his
anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Now I know that the LORD saves His
anointed; He
answers him from His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand.
Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
O LORD, save the king. Answer us on the day we call.
