beaten— two or three
berries atop the tree, four or five on its fruitful branches,” declares the LORD, the God of Israel.

purged; and this is all the fruit to take away his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are
beaten in
sunder, the groves and images shall not stand up.

beaten down, and are fled

flee in
haste without looking back; terror is on every side!” declares the LORD.

blew, and
beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds

He is like a man which built an house, and
digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream
beat vehemently upon that house, and could not
shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
He is like a man building a house, who
dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the
torrent crashed against that house but could not
shake it, because it was well built.
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did
beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink and get
drunk.
And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be
beaten with few blows. From
everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from him who has been entrusted with much, even more will be demanded.
