For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
“
Yes, in those days and at that time, when I restore Judah and Jerusalem from
captivity,
I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of
Aven, and him that holdeth the
sceptre from the house of
Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into
captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.

captivity to

revoke My judgment, because they delivered up a whole congregation of exiles to
Edom and broke a covenant of
brotherhood.

slay them. I will fix My eyes upon them for
harm and not for good.”

dashed to pieces at the head of every street. They cast lots for her

remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed

rifled, and the women
ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into
captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
For I will gather all the nations for battle against Jerusalem, and the city will be captured, the houses
looted, and the women
ravished. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into
captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
But I see another law at work in my body,
warring against the law of my mind and holding me
captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.

Let all things be known unto our lord the king, that being come into the country of
Judea, and entered into the city of Jerusalem we found in the city of Jerusalem the ancients of the Jews that were of the
captivity I have commanded also to have it built up whole again; and that they look
diligently to help those that be of the
captivity of the Jews, till the house of the Lord be finished:
And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and others that were of the captivity, that were added unto them, did according to the things written in the book of Moses.
And the children of Israel that were of the
captivity held the
passover the
fourteenth day of the first month, after that the priests and the Levites were

Knowest thou not that Israel is committed unto thee in the land of their captivity?
Our
psaltery is laid on the ground, our song is put to silence, our
rejoicing is at an end, the light of our
candlestick is put out, the ark of our covenant is
spoiled, our holy things are
defiled, and the name that is called upon us is almost
profaned: our children are put to shame, our priests are burnt, our Levites are gone into
captivity, our virgins are
defiled, and our wives
ravished; our righteous men carried away, our little ones destroyed, our young men are brought in
bondage, and our strong men are become weak;
For strangers shall
reap their fruits, and
spoil their goods, overthrow their houses, and take their children
captives, for in
captivity and famine shall they get children.

dispersed.
And that I never
polluted my name, nor the name of my father, in the land of my
captivity: I am the only daughter of my father, neither hath he any child to be his heir, neither any near
kinsman, nor any son of his alive, to whom I may keep myself for a wife: my seven husbands are already dead; and why should I live? but if it please not thee that I should die, command some regard to be had of me, and
pity taken of me, that I hear no more reproach.
If ye turn to him with your whole heart, and with your whole mind, and deal uprightly before him, then will he turn unto you, and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and
confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and
extol the
everlasting King. In the land of my
captivity do I praise him, and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O ye sinners, turn and do justice before him: who can tell if he will accept you, and have mercy on you?
And that again God will have mercy on them, and bring them again into the land, where they shall build a temple, but not like to the first, until the time of that age be fulfilled; and afterward they shall return from all places of their captivity, and build up Jerusalem gloriously, and the house of God shall be built in it for ever with a glorious building, as the prophets have spoken thereof.

captivity, and all the people of

And the slaughter of our brethren, and the
captivity of the country, and the
desolation of our inheritance, will he turn upon our heads among the Gentiles,
wheresoever we shall be in
bondage; and we shall be an offence and a reproach to all them that possess us.
Nevertheless it satisfieth them not, that we are in bitter
captivity: but they have
stricken hands with their idols,

captivity: for we have called to mind all the iniquity of our forefathers, that
sinned before thee.
Behold, we are yet this day in our
captivity, where thou hast scattered us, for a reproach and a
curse, and to be subject to payments, according to all the
iniquities of our fathers, which departed from the Lord our God.
For I saw the
captivity of my sons and daughters, which the
Everlasting brought upon them.
Let them that dwell about
Sion come, and remember ye the
captivity of my sons and daughters, which the
Everlasting hath brought upon them.
Like as now the neighbours of
Sion have seen your
captivity: so shall they see shortly your salvation from our God which shall come upon you with great glory, and brightness of the
Everlasting.
